KDZ File From LG - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i want to extract the KDZ File from the gpad. I extract the kdz and has become a cab file. I want to extract the cab with 7zip or winrar or Expand command, but nothing is working. Any ideas ??

You'll just end up with a dz file that you can't do anything with. The dz file is encrypted by LG. There are tools out there for decrypting them, but they're written for other devices and may not work. I've tried a few and they haven't.
Basically what you can do is go through the process of resetting via KDZ and try to take the files out of the temporary directory before they disappear.
That's where my research into getting into the KDZ has led me.

And what is the way to make a rom based on stock when i cannot extract the stock rom ??

Change .exe to .zip

Is it possible for me to change a, . Exe file to a, . Zip file?
Generally, no. But I know 7zip ( http://www.7-zip.org/ )can extract the contents of many executables as if they were a zip. What is this for?
Generally no. But what do you need to do and I might try and help

I downloaded a exe file that I wntd to flash
It's probably not too wise to flash an .exe file to your phone. That's a windows executable file and this is Android.

Hey kingtnutt,
What are you trying to do with the .exe file? Do you need to extract it to pull files from it? More details would help.
If the .exe is a "self-extractor" it would probably work to change the extension to .zip and then extract it. It may not, though.

Ok, sounds like you have a self extractor. Follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835033
Sounds like you're trying to install a One-click update.
There are instructions for installing via Mobile Odin here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
See the 'Android Section'
sfhub and rwilco12 have done a bang up job of putting up detailed install instructions.
Take some time and really read throught the posts, watch Qbking77's videos and then re-read the posts AND follow ups. Or you could end up with a shiny fishing lure.
Why not use PC Odin? Especially if you're just starting out. Might save you loads of trouble.
Good luck

Unfortunately those one-clicks are compiled in such a way that they can't be extracted. You have two options to flash it, Odin or Mobile Odin.
Out of curiosity, why would you want to convert it to a ZIP?

K. The good news is that these one-clicks make flashing with a ZIP look almost impossible. You seriously plug your phone in and press the start button in the one-click and you're done (that's over-simplifying but you get the idea). Check out the instructions in the OP and it walks you right through it.
If you still want to use a zip Crawrj has the fh23 rom here

[Req] Desire HD stock ROM zip file

Hi!
I had tried to root my Desire HD and somehow got it stuck on the splash screen the other day.
I've been searching for a long time but I couldn't find a zip file for a stock ROM for the WWE Desire HD. I did try the RUU's but they ended up with errors saying it's already updated.
I thought I found one and ended up flashing this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208507
which is actually the At&t ROM.
Would really help if someone could give me a link for the zip!
Have you looked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610483? Also, what are you trying to do, run a RUU or root your phone?

4pda.ru has detailed instruction. Truing to translate...:
1. Download the original firmware.
2. Run it.
3. Accept the "agreement"
4. Go to C :/ Users / YourComputerUsername / AppData / Local / Temp
5. In this folder, locate the file rom.zip. The file can not be directly in the root of the folder and subfolders.
6. Copy this file to wherever you want. Copy should be while installer running, or at the close installer the firmware file will be deleted.
7. Close the installer
8. Rom.zip file can be renamed to PD98IMG.zip to flash STOCK firmware without BB method radio. This could be useful if you have not installed HTC Sync, or there is a problem with the connection between your computer and phone.
hel it doesnt prompt me to install anythiing, it apparently reads the zip file but trhows a bunch of errors... my phone was on froyo before ig got stuck on the splash screen

or the name of the file is not correct (check that it is exactly PD98IMG.zip) or your sdcard is corrupted, so try using a different one. Anyway, you can try flashing the RUU from fastboot usb.

KDZ ERROR "File Extract Error." "Finished"

hey, i have an LG optimus G 97310H i have rooted my phone but now i must send it away as it is having hardware issues.
i used superSU to permanent unroot. but for some reason SUPERSU PRO is still in my applications list.
and it dose not give me an option to remove just Enable OR DISABLE. so what im trying to do is remove it. so i thought if used KDZ and installed the official ROM. i downloaded the ROM from 2 sources. and when ever i put my phone in download mode. KDZ gives me this error.
"File Extract Error."
"Finished"
any help on how to fix the KDZ error. or if i can remove the superSU another way?
**** its also not a custom ROM installed ***

Corrupted kdz? low free space available? virus?
Reboot pc and try different usb port.
LG Optimus G E971
I see no any reference between "File Extract Error" and "different usb port"
.KDZ is an archive, which will be privately unpacked by update tool and if the checksum of .dz (or .tot) is ok, flashed to the device.
"File Extract Error" means .kdz unpacking went wrong.

Any updates for this issue? I got a LG Optimus G Pro F240L from south korea and it is stuck in download mode. Everytime I use KDZ updater I got the same error: Extract File Error
Since it's a model less common I managed to get the KDZ from only one place (lg servers).
Need help lol!
KDZ unpack error
Have the same problem. Mine is Optimus G E977. I download 4, Official KDZ stock from LG Firmware list and very one gives the same error. I try to donwload again, and still the same error.
I also have a Optimus L7 and KDZ update function flawless. Maybe it's because the size (more than 1 gb).
Would appreciate any help
I think it's a corrupt download.try to download the kdz from browser, not with kdz updater.

KDZ unpack error
I already did. I download several KDZ files from different sites an for different countries. Nothing works when size is more than 1.0 gb. Smaller size files works well. The problem is that almost all KDZ files for Optimus G are more than 1.0 GB in size.
KDZ Unpack error
Could unpack several files (all of them less than 1.0 gb).
But large KDZ files (more than 1.0 gb) couldn't
Anyone knows where to get the latest version of KDZ_FW_UPD
just free more than 2Gb on your C drive and you are ready to go

Phone stuck into recovery

I tried updating it and it stuck in recovery. when i flash something it says cant find root. how do i fix it?
A little more detail please. Did you root then try OTA update?
You might try flashing stock image, then flash value package using LGFlashTool. Might have to root again. You can find all these in the development section.

Read the guide located here.
Once you have everything extracted (the necessary dll, the image, etc), go to the folder where you have LGFLASHTOOL extracted and delete the .dll file that is not the megalock.dll (I forget the name). That will get it to load.
Put your phone into download mode. Follow instructions in the link provided.
Hopefully this will help. Repeat to put the value package on too.

Edited my prop.build file, can't boot

Edited the file to hopefully get my Gear 2 to work with my VZW LG G3. Now it won't boot. Can't do anything but get into download mode. Can't flash the .tot file because the flash tool thinks it's a GTI9500. Can't figure out where in the .tot file to change the model number with a hex editor.
Anyone have any ideas or help they could throw my way?
On man I feel sorry for you. It's very difficult without custom recovery. You may yet it using the PC software. My suggestion would be to send it for RMA.
