have you tried this one? because in note 2 this was an release update (mj5) and with this patch you could reset knox warranty and downgrade. but i dont know if this works in s4 mini. you can try this and tell us the results

Root Galaxy Tab 3 7" SM-T2100MKADBT

Hi,
I might purchase a galaxy Tab 3 7" version SM-T2100MKADBT (purchase on amazon France), but I don't understand whether or not the methods to root the tablet would apply for this version. In many posts about root (like using Odin), I see specific versions such as SM-T210.. but never the version T2100..
Will it work ?
And once it is rotoed, is it possible to revert back to stock firmware while keeping the root ? (on other tablets, I know I can do it using rootkeeper).
By the way, at equivalent cost, would you prefer a samsung galaxy tab 3 7" (with dual CPU and small screen but nice and serious brand name) or a chinese PIPO U8 with quad core and 2GB RAM but a chinese vendor and poor after-sales support.. ?

You can root it by flashing one of the custom recoveries; then flash the root zip found in the recovery thread. You don't need different firmware anymore.

I see.. well I man I'd need to find tutorial for that..
However, "flashing one of the custom recoveries".. does it mean that we lose warranty during the root process ? In ASus world, rooting does not void warranty but flashing custom recoevry does, I believe.. So do we lose warranty when rooting the Tab 3 through your method ?

Flashing a custom recovery WILL increase your flash counter and your device will show as custom. That typically results in losing warranty coverage.

This is not a good news..
I saw posts mentioning pre-rooted firmware which avoid cancelling warrantyn such as here: http://www.android.gs/use-pre-rooted-os-root-galaxy-note-3-lte-n9005/
Is it false info or is it true but not applicable on all models of tab 3 ?

[Q] Root 4.4.2 without tripping KNOX?

I know its only been a day since its been released, but does anyone know if it will be possible to still root 4.4.2 without tripping KNOX? And yes I know I can just trip KNOX, but I own my phone and when I go to sell it, I want KNOX still at 0x0 since some people actually need it for their jobs. Thanks in advance.

Well, KNOX will be tripped regardless if rooting, custom kernel, or custom recovery.

Any with KNOX 0x0 try this yet? There is another thread saying he did it with a special bootloader file, but not seen proof yet.

Rooting P605?

Hi
If I just want to root my P605, what's the best way? Will this allow me to get rid of a lot of the Samsung bloatware?
What is the best way to remove all apps, is there a list anywhere which details what can be got rid of?
Also will this 100% trip Knox?
Thanks
Andy

You should be able to root it without triggering the Knox-flag. I didn't tried it yet, so I can't give you any more information on this topic.
But, you have to be careful while you're getting rid of "all" apps (system apps in particular), because afaik some of them will trigger the flag.
Rooted and knox tripped .

Unless you have been living under a rock and haven't upgraded your firmware from the very 1st generation of Note 10.1 2014 tabs you will most DEFINITELY trip Knox... There is no safe way anymore...
This is true of all Samsung phones that have Knox in the phone natively from the start....

Should I update?

I am already rooted via towel root. Is this going to update to NF1? And will I loose root?

You can upgrade to NF1 official firmware no problem, it will not change the knox status.
But unfortunately you will loose root and Towelroot is not yet compatible with rooting
the NF1 official firmware.
Good luck!
Thanks that's what I was afraid of. I think I'll just keep postponing it until I hear of a root method for NF1. Thanks again. God Bless

Don't do the OTA. You can retain root if you flash nf1 via Mobile Odin Pro app.

So, this is the "official" 4.4.2 OTA update? Without tripping anything? There's no mention of that anywhere in the video... There's also no links as to where this "update zip" came from like the dude said...

Not sure on tripping. Mine was tripped anyway and out of warranty. Sorry can not help you on that part. Just know it runs well and shows 4.4.2 Should not do anything to a phone if worried about warranty. You are Always taking a Chance with any downloaded rom other than the one you get over phone. My opinion.
