Virate Issues - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I know this has been mentioned before, but it is to the point now where I'm thinking about giving up entirely on my ONE.
Im now on my third replacement device, all three have had the rattling noise whenever the vibrate is activated. So frustrating..
How is everyone else dealing with this? or are there really only a few devices with this issue and i'm just unlucky??

Sounds normal

I'm now on my third in a row where anytime the vibrate is activtaed it sounds as if something is loose internally and rattles... Sounds like its near the camera lens. Im thinking about giving up on this phone and trying the G2.

Does this occur regardless if it's on a hard surface, soft surface or in your hand? I'm guessing so, but just wanted to be sure.

YES, surface doesnt change it, even positon of the device (ie. upright, horizontally etc.) could this really just be a fluke? 3 devices in a row like this??

I had never heard of the problem before so that's why I asked...it's super strange you've had the issue on 3 different devices.

If something is loose in the phone then it would rattle just from shaking it. Maybe try to find someone else that has a one and listen to how theirs sounds when the vibrate goes off. My suggestion would to be just turn it off but if you're rooted and s off then a custom kernel can be used to turn the vibrate strength down and maybe lessen this "noise".

Weak vibrate

Am I wrong in feeling the phone vibrate is weak? I came from an Evo Shift and I could hear it vibrate from across the room. This can be in my pocket and I miss alerts.
Mostly I don't like actually having sound for alerts. Very seldom do I have my phone on anything other than silent. Is it just me? Is there anything that can be done? This is completely nit-picking because this phone is a beast and even with just ICS it smokes.

I notice just the opposite. Coming from the Epic 4G, the LGOG makes me jump when it vibrates. I missed so many calls/texts/emails with the Epic.
Guess it's all relative based on one's previous phone.
This is very true. Maybe it's something I'll get used to. I could also change the pattern used. Might help make it more noticeable.

That's what I've done -- I use Type 1 for phone calls (very long vibrate) and Type 2 for SMS/email (5 quick ones).
Coming from the OG Evo and I share your disappointment with the weak vibration of this phone. I work in an office building and rely on the vibration for notifications. Really wish I could get this thing to shake a little more.

Might be worth adhering a little bell to it or something to get some sound.

I wouldn't call it nit-picking at all. On my desk my Evo 3d would really vibrate it was impossible to miss. This phone though I miss notifications all of the time, even in my front pocket, even with long vibrate, and pattern vibrate. I'm hoping something can be done about it as well.
I really doubt there is, which is sad. Still loving the phone!

I remember the haptic feedback slider, but not one for notifications. Then again, I was running CM7.2, so maybe it was removed.
Now I have my LGOG in a Diztronic case which, though I love the case, cuts down on the vibration by about 50%. I'm starting to miss a bunch of notifications now. But, since I already dropped and broke my first LGOG (didn't have a case), I'll keep the case and miss some calls.

Either you have a hardware issue, in which case claim warranty. Or just do a clean wipe and restart. Are you rooted?
Because that's a silly reason to switch phones. I totally get if you need to upgrade to some other phone - but if this is your sole reason, explore other options before you do.
This failure of screen to come back after a call has been reported by others. I doubt it's hardware.

If it's software, it's defo fixable. I haven't faced this issue on any ROM/Kernel combo I've tried thus far.
Okay scratch that, I did face it once on X Note IIRC. Did a full wipe and everything works well to date.

Speakers making a clicking sound

First when got the phone thought was because the camera cause that's what I tried first
but nopes
now every single sound that plays there's a clicking sound.
Is there anyway to solve this?
This phone belongs to my cuz, and my friend got hers the same time but was a ATT model and no sound. But I'm guessing it's maybe hardware, hoping it's not

Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
A lot of people have been having this issue especially on 4.4. Some say its 4.4's fault but I think its a hardware issue...make sure you're completely stock and try a factory reset after backing everything up...if that doesn't help its a hardware issue and Verizon will replace it no problem. If its not within the 14 day new return policy you're going to get a refurbished phone back but either way they'll definitely send you a new one.

For the hell of it, have you turned off "BEATS" to see if the the clicking continues? If it stops, then it's a software problem. If it doesn't then it's most likely hardware. Regardless, returning the phone sounds like the best bet.

Anyone's home button make a "crackling/clicking" noise?

This just started happening a day or so ago but it's bothering me big time. I don't even have to press the button all the way down. Just put some minor pressure on it and it makes this clicking or crackling sound. It's not 100% of the time but it's doing it a good bit. Wondering if anyone has experienced this yet with their note 4.
Anyway, I was thinking of bringing it into best buy to exchange for another one. Is that possible? I don't have insurance or anything but being that it's only a couple weeks old, and obviously still covered by warranty, they should be able to exchange. My concern is they will probably look at me like I'm crazy. But when I spend a lot of money on a device, and it's only a couple weeks old and making this noise already, it's quite annoying. My gf has a note 4 too and her button isn't anything like this so it concerns me.
nope. mines incredibly solid.

Same. I mean I know if I go into best buy asking to exchange, they're gonna look at me like I'm crazy for complaining about it. The other problem is it doesn't help all the time. Sometimes I press it and it's fine, other times it does make that noise. So it's hard to reproduce the noise due to it being at random.
My home button has a solid clicking sound, like the rest of the buttons. If yours doesn't sound like the rest of the buttons when they are pressed, you should consider exchanging.

Yeah I think I'm going to go in to best buy tomorrow. Do you need to be able to reproduce the issue for them to exchange? It is definitely still doing it, but not 100% of the time.

Not yet. I had an S4 and Note 3 that did, though. It was quite annoying, and I don't miss it. My N4 is really solid aside from the acceptable volume rocker play.

Screen Sensitivity

My screen does not record every press. Never misses a beat typing but selecting a thread from a list or a tweet from twitter feed or almost any random thing the first click may not record. I have to do it again. I wish I could increase sensitivity.
Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
My Verizon note 7 is on the truck for delivery today. I will share my experience after a day or of playing with it. Since it sounds like I can't root it yet I guess I can't tweak it too bad. Do you have a screen protector on yours by chance?

I should have mentioned I had the VZW rep put on a Zagg but it had bubbles and was peeling so I took it off. Problem did not improve. The odd thing is it doesn't affect typing at all. I type fast and no lags nor unrecorded presses. It does happen randomly in any app or screen though. Never when clicking to open an app but clicking on a phone number in missed calls, clicking a link in the browser, clicking to open a tweet or tapatalk thread or basically anything anywhere on the screen. Not a dead spot. The second click always works. It's incredibly annoying when you kind of look for it to happen again and of course it does
MODERATOR - Would this be a legit topic for main thread or strictly a Q AND A thing? It would get more looks in a main Note 7 thread. Thanks

Some claim an update will fix it but I called VZW and Samsung tech support and both said they never heard of any problems at all with Note 7. How can I hope for a fix if they don't know there is a problem?

I have a case on mine also. I'm not sure about taking it back just because of the time it takes me to set up. I can't see it being a hardware issue because the same point of touch will work perfect on somethings but not on others. Kinda torn on if its worth the setup time to exchange. As far as tech support have they ever admitted to a problem with any phone lol.
