It doesn't exist because there's no GSM radio. With no GSM radio, what would you be using it for anyway?

Great. And it can't be used for anything unless you keep digging and find a hidden GSM radio to go with it.

I just need it to run *#0*# to test the tablet

might be a noob question but what does *#0*# do on a tablet?

It puts it into test mode. You can test camera, touch, speakers, prox sensor...ect.
I have the phone dialer set as a shortcut on my tab homescreen. I will post on how to enable it when I get home.

As every pre-installed App: /system/app/. And the app name is SecPhone.apk.

The problem is that every app can define conditions and so also here the app define only be startable with a gsm. Therefore I think you will need root rights. But maybe someone here found a trick.

My tablet is rooted. Yes i know that SecPhone.apk is in system apps . my question how to have it appears in apps drawer.

Here is the shortcut i found.
Install Nova launcher.
Open up apps, then widgets, you will see a widget called "activities" long press that.
A menu will open up, scroll down to contacts, and tap that.
Scroll down to phone, you will see the phone icon, tap phone icon.
Now you have the phone dial pad on your homescreen to enter into *#0 menu.
It will not show up on the app drawer, just homescreen as a widget.

ADW Launcher?

Is there a specific reason why I can't see ADW Launcher in the Market?
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Should be able to, I have it installed from the market.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The search engine for the market is not that great. Try reformatting the way you type ADW launcher, or just search launcher and look through the list. At one time I think it was "ADW.Launcher" but I am not positive.
Its there if you just type adw in the search but there's so many friggen themes for it that its kinda hidden next to the bottom of the list. Great launcher...

Try searching for anderwebs. That should make it easier.

i couldnt find it at first but it is definitely in there its just so hard to find because of the overwhelming amount of themes and stuff lol.
Just scan this image with a bar code scanner

I agree. You'd think it would work well on an OS from a search engine company, but what do I know?
just use appbrain

Try letting @andersonwebs know and he'll fix that

Fix what? The fact that it is the 50th on the list because of all the themes? I don't think he can fix that.

Fix the way the launcher is set up in the market search. It needs a new tag to differentiate it from themes. Whatever, I was just trying to help you help yourself.

This should work. It's actually named "ADW.Launcher" in market.
I have found it, installed it, but selected the default launcher, and now i cant get back to ADW no matter what i try. I have uninstalled and installed, and when i go to "manage applications", the only option it gives me is to uninstall. All the other options are greyed out. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Anderwebs told me the same thing.
market>apps>productivity>top free>scroll down a bit and it's there, searching causes more of a headache when looking for this app, although as much as i love adw my G2 lagged a lot when i was using it so i went back to stock launcher2

Executive Assistant

In the past few days I'm using Executive Assistant as my lockscreen replacement, and it's very complete: it is very customizable, and shows all your unread emails, sms, unanswered calls, upcoming events etc.
The only thing I don't like is that if I press the home button, the stock lockscreen kicks in, and I cannot find a way to get rid of it for good.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I would like Executive Asssitant to be the only lockscreen on my phone.
Thanks!
This is the URL to the app developer: http://www.appventive.com/executive-assistant
Try downloading Home Switcher from the Market, then launch the app.
If Executive Assistant is in the list, then tap Clear default at the bottom, scroll down, tap Clear defaults, press the Back softkey, press the Home button, then check the Set as default box before tapping Executive Assistant.
use the app called "no lock".

Thank you, but apparently doens't work with the Galaxy S2!!
So far the only lockscreen replacement that works flawlessly is GoTO, but I don't like it so much.

Executive Assistant doesn't show in the list so, if I got it right, the problem is with ADW Launcher: basically whatever lock screen replacement I choose, when I hit the home button ADW recalls the stock lockscreen.
Any replacement I choose is simply laid on top of the stock one, instead of substituting it.
So Executive Assistant is just an app and not a home/lockscreen replacement.
Dunno where to go from here, sorry.

So that's it, then? Is there NOTHING that gives basic missed notifications about calls/texts/emails etc with names on the lockscreen for android that works efficiently or smoothly?? I've searched and searched this forum and the market and even bought and tried widgetlocker with the Missed It! app which seemed to be the closest thing to what I've been searching and it didn't work. I mean, close, but no cigar. It was very inaccurate (said there were missed things when there weren't). Does it have to do with another of apple's f'ing "patents"? I just want to know, if anyone can help out, if this exists or not so I can stop my mindless searching that has been eating up my time for the past 3 days. Thanks all.
Oh, on samsung galaxy s3. at&t but i'm searching all over the forums.

That's what I don't get. The purpose of it is to switch quickly between apps. The task manager is there to sort out ram etc, not the recent apps screen.

[Q] Screenshot to Text?

Hi!
So, on my jailbroken iPhone XS I have a genious tweak that I can click on when I take a screenshot, where it converts the text on the screenshot-text into actual text you can copy.
Anything that does this seamlessly on Android? (Running Galaxy S20 if it matters)

The issue with "regular" apps is that I need to do a screenshot, then open the app, find the SS and then convert to text.
Is there no way of implementing such a thing into the OneUI for example?
So another icon will pop up when I do the SS-shortcut?
Or even making a new shortcut that would "automate" this?
What about edge panel?View attachment 5047209View attachment 5047211

You'd have to ask Samsung about OneUI implementing
The way I do it is just hit the "Share" icon after taking a SS, and share it to the editing app I want to open, pretty much feels like it is part of the SS app that way

This is most likely the best way to do it by far!
Not used to Samsung, so the "share" button wasnt as obvious to me as it should be - but this works very well with Google Lens.
Thank you

Yea the share feature is very handy for a lot of things, for example you can set up a shared folder on your PC, install Total Commander and the LAN plugin, connect it to the shared folder, then you can use the Share feature to copy files to the PC from the phone via WiFi, select the file > share > total commander > find the PC shared folder > done

Good Lock Task Changer Update?

I have the SM-N976V (Verizon Note 10+ 5G 512MB). My software was updated OTA to N976VVRU6FUCD on April 14. It has been saying for a long time (for over a month - maybe two) that the version of my OS is so new that the task changer version available within Good Lock is not compatible. Anyone have any ideas when it will be available or how we can find out when Good Lock components are updated?

Yeah I heard that so I uninstalled that good lock task switcher, and then finally found the good lock homeup plugin so I installed that, and then enabled it, it made no difference as I am stuck with the default task switcher, so I rebooted and it still made no difference - it is turned on and doesn't do anything... I use Nova Prime but that shouldn't make any difference... maybe it only works with HomeUI?

select homeui as default launcher. go to home up/task changer, set it up as you wish. if the change isnt visible, reboot, then it should work. set nova launcher as default. this worked for me.

Thank you so much for this! That worked fine. What a PITA but at least it's working!
Just thought I'd let you know how to fix this... Change the launcher to HomeUI, then within homeup changer the selected task changer - then switch back to Nova - task switcher stays changed!

Actually that only fixes it until you reboot and then the problem comes back, so I discovered the homeup app needs to be an allowed to access storage - which resolved the issue. Now it gets weirder. There was last night an update to HomeUp... which only works partly...
