As stated above, GomdoLight is compatible only with KOREAN models.
I do NOT own E980 and therefore do not know about it.
If you have a NON-KOREAN Optimus G Pro device, but still wish to install GomdoLight, try restoring this Nandroid backup: https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BxguIyFQTnvdWVZDcjg4c0NnS2c This will greatly increase your device's compatibility with GomdoLight.
Thank you.
TO INSTALL GOMDOLIGHT, YOU SHOULD HAVE:
LG Optimus LTE2, VU2, LTE3, G, G Pro, GK (KOREAN)
A Microsoft Windows-based PC (XP, Vista, 7, 8)

The developer of GomdoLight shall NOT be held responsible for any injury, loss, expense or damage of any kind whatsoever suffered or incurred by any person who uses GomdoLight.

If you do not agree, do not download GomdoLight or its related components.
Every time your device boots, GomdoLight creates log files in /sdcard. GomdoLightInitialSITREP.txt contains the status of your device when GomdoLight is just installed or reconfigured, and GomdoLightCurrentSITREP.txt contains the current status of your device and updated with each boot. The following are stored in these files:
The date and time log was created (it means the boot time)

it's for those who use korean models, but if e980 is KDZ-compatible with korean SKT/KT models, then this will work. if not, this will not work with yours.

Nice work mate. Good luck with the development of the ROM. I like how you have covered everything and used diagrams, almost like a school project

Perfect OP, just for that Thank You very much!!! Hopefully soon it will be compatible with the att e980.

i have a question, is 'e980' a almost-worldwide universal model?
with same firmware version everywhere?

Good Work

The e980 is the att version of the G Pro, it may work everywhere, I don't know for sure since I'm actually in the US and I use att.

Great rom, but does it allow auto update to 4.3 or 4.4 when they are released later?

Is there a modified LG g2 camera apk to install with this or in general?

if you mean the ota update, no, gomdolight deletes all components related to during its installation process. this is because an ota update on a custom rom is likely to break the system down (probably not being able to boot). the only way to update/upgrade the base firmware is via your pc (lg mobile support tool, or kdz flasher)
however, i plan to create a twitter account, and post update information on there. update notices will be in english too (as well as korean) so you can know when the rom is updated.

not as i know. and if you want a high quality picture, you should get a g2, since that is a hardware difference which cannot be compensated merely by a camera app.

Still reading your instruction... but I have to write a quick comment: " Thank you very much about your sharing ".
PS: Im F240K user and going to buy another LG Vu 2 soon.

ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
Supported Devices:
olympus (atrix), sunfire (photon), triumph, WX435, fb0 (triumph), p999 (lg g2x), p990 (lg o2x), p970 (lg optimus black), ace (htc desired hd), pyramid (htc sensation), galaxys2, GT-I9100, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, SGH-I777, SGH-I727, hercules, crespo (nexus s), crespo4g (nexus s 4g), toro (cdma galaxy nexus), maguro (gsm galaxy nexus)

Your phone must be rooted!
Step One: Press the Install Resources button on screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
Step Two: Press the Create Fruit Cake button on the screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
You use this application at your own risk, I am in no way responsible for any damage this application causes.

Anyways, great work! Looking forward to this!

Afaik a nandroid backup is everything including data folder. This one i think is a little less than that. As op said it copies the rom so devs can pass them to their beta testers etc. A nandoid backup is including ur personal settings like bookmarks or last viewed webpages and contacts etc. And a nandroid backup is recovery dependant. Afaik a nandroid from a cwm v4 base wont be suitable for a phone with a cwm v5 phone.

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.
Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode
New look
Open Source components
New site, new forums, new devices.
The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.
We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.
Nightlys and experimental.
Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.
An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.
I think it's great personally, used it on DHD also with ease.
I'm surprised this project doesn't receive more attention.
It certainly deserves it.
Many thanks
Wow. If I get it well, it create a flashable zip image of your current installation, with apps etc?
Wow. That will be a lot easier to share beta ROMs in the future.
Many many thanks.
Envoyé depuis mon GT-I9100 avec Tapatalk
I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Very good work!
Awesome! keep the good work, I will try it tonight from home.
Sounds Great
Hello,
The ROM Factory sounds like a great Idea, im not a developer but i can see why its great for devs,
Question is, will it be useful for just a user like I am?
if i am to use it to back up, how does it differ from Titanium and CWM NAND backup?
Thanks

I'm not a programmer, just a law school student, so I do not have any knowledge about kernel modding. Therefore, GomdoLight does NOT aim to replace the kernel, and uses the stock kernel by default.
However if you want to use a custom kernel, any kernel that is compatible with stock firmware will work with GomdoLight.

Can we use the CWM apk installer over E975???
One thing I don't like using CWM with FreeGee installer is the standy battery charge indicator was replace by a black & white animation. Most of the time I turn off my device for fastcharge and its really ugly to see that battery animation.

Hello
I'm thinking that something would be good can Flash the stock recovery, by issue of updates via OTA.
I have an international D802, I don't have the recovery of other models, and I do not include them in the program.
Whoever has the original of these models I can post the download link here.
Thank
Hi mate!
Thank you so much! That's a great tool for Mac!
It's a must! If you have another OS.
Btw would be great if you can also add the stock recovery just in case!
Cheers!

Hi, you have to unzip the TAR inside your personal folder, if you unzip it outside it execute permissions are lost
I apologize
I have detected an error in the scrip that could cause it not to run correctly.
I'm uploading the version revised and expanded, with the "restoration EFS" included
I'm sorry but can you please post the installing instructions for mac? Also, will it work with OSX10.5.8? Thanks.

Hi oscar!
A brief explanation:
MAC, uses kernel Darwin, that means that it is UNIX, so it will operate like that on Linux, that is compatible with UNIX.
Having that clear we can say that MAC and LINUX are supported in the use of bash script, but are not supported in the use of binary, but that's the script that knows to differentiate that binary used at each time depending on your system operatrivo is where running the script (Linux or Darwin)
Instructions for use, for Mac and Linux:
- Download the file.tar.gz, unpack in your personal folder, to not make mistakes you unpack in your desktop.
- With the file manager navigate to the folder where you unpacked.
- Now it stings twice on the file menu.sh
If you do it from console:
- Open the terminal
- Browse to the folder where you unpacked
- type:
Code:
./menu.sh
If I'm wrong correct me please
Hi,
Found an error in the English version tools/re.sh line 143, you are missing an "r" in the CabFlasher module.
Additionally there is an issue flashin a recovery, did not have a chance to troubleshoot this, but you might want to have a look at loki.sh:
/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot: cannot open for read: Permission denied
[+] loki_patch v2.1
[-] Failed to open /data/local/tmp/loki/aboot.img for reading.
I was trying to flash the TWRP recovery on an OPEN (d802) 32GB device.
This looks like a great tool for those of us on Linux. I am trying to root my LG G2 D801 from T*Mobile, but have already upgraded to kitkat. Will this enable me to downgrade to the Jelly Bean ROM that shipped with the phone so that I can root it?
If not, I would really appreciate being pointed to directions of how to do that. I have not had any luck in finding those.
Thanks...

[Tool] Frija - Samsung firmware downloader/checker

* * * PLEASE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE INSTALLING TO YOUR DEVICES AT ALL TIMES AND ME AND THE DEVELOPER ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SORT OF DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE * * *
Hey Guys
Frija is a new tool (successor of now depreciated tool SamFirm) which allows users to download latest firmware for their device which can be flashed with Odin.
Frija can download Firmware for any Samsung Devices at High Speed.
Auto mode detects any Samsung Phone Model and CSC and finds all the required information directly from Samsung Server.
Frija downloads firmware directly from Samsung FUS (Firmware Update Server) without any third party websites being involved. It can pause/resume firmware downloads, even after network interruption, or app restart (if download was interrupted).
Frija comes with built in Support form, through which you can reach out to developer about any issues or bugs. Frija has built in App Updater, whenever new release of Frija is available users will be able to update to latest version of the app.
Frija does not have any Background or Startup services, which some users might be concerned about.
It also comes with Night theme, for those who prefer Night Mode on the app

Fun fact about Frija: Frija is named after wife of Odin who can see future (In Norse Mythology) can download latest firmwares which can be flashed using Odin which uses Heimdall (A protocol that connects to a mobile device over USB) and Loke (low-level software running on the device). It kinda added a missing piece to the naming convention Samsung has.
This tool was created by wssyncmldm with contribution from CrazyApe and eragon5779. Devs receive all the support message directly and they are actively working on the app to fix any bugs or issue.

Will there be a linux build or is it windows only?
Also it would be nice to have the sources available to audit the code and make sure it does no nasty stuff.

For now the software is for Windows only. As for now the developer doesn't have any plans to release the code to the public.
I have been a long time user of SamFirm, it was always the best way to get firmware as soon as it is avaialble. I really appreciate your work on this project. I tested it out for myself and it works Great! Thanks!!!

That's sad to hear. I''m not willing to setup a windows installation somewhere just to run some closed source code. Opening the source would make it possible for others to port the code to linux or at least have a look at it and audit it. Not only for security concerns but also to hunt bugs and report them. I'm really uncomfortable running closed source software from a random guy on some random internet forum.
Looks cool! I would prefer it to run on my Chromebook... someday. Cheers

Making source open is not going to help someone port it, since it uses 3 libraries made by Samsung to get info about download link and download the firmware which are only available for windows

I'm also a Linux user. I do have Windows on one of my partitions, but I'll have to wait for more users to report on Frija before I trust it enough to run it. With that said, I appreciate the effort and the work put into developing a useful program like that, and I hope its developers don't take my distrust as an insult.
Virustotal report for the zip
I used it yesterday to download the Odin package for my s10 plus. Worked liked a champ. Thanks!

OK when its finish the download i cannot find the zip file in the PC i choose other location and same problem
Will this trip nox or is it just a quicker way to get updates before the OTA release?
As it is downloading original, Stock Firmware, it will not trip KNOX.

Its probably me not doing something right. But Frija does not recognize my phone. Does it need to be in recovery? Debug mode etc?
This tool is great I typed in my model number gm-975F then the CSC that I wanted ( I found an online list of them by googling it.) Then bam it downloaded the fw file really fast over 120mbit down. I love the tool thank you so much

I don't recall the Moto G stylus being on the list of unofficial Lineage OS builds. I'm just a novice so is rooting always required to install it as opposed to just debloating. That would be much easier to do and would result in a more user friendly phone. There's a debloating thread here that links a debloat guide. I may attempt this but I'm reluctant especially since there isn't any follow up. progress, status reports. Suggesting these projects may have failed or have been abandoned?
I don't want to bite off more than I can chew and end up bricking my phone. I doubt you live in Vegas so do you know of a good developer/tech here or in Henderson, NV that can provide this service for me on 1 or more of my personal phones? Or can you locate one through your network? I've gone by several cell repair shops and most have closed their doors or they're clueless which also gives me pause.

Yes but more user edits are required, since signature spoofing isn't natively in LOS and i haven't patched it in, you have to do it on the user end.

Unofficial lists of unofficial LOS builds aren't really updated (or trustworthy in my opinion), the Moto G Stylus xda group is definitely the least active of the three but if you want to see what other people are saying you can look at the Moto G8 (Moto G Fast) and the Moto G Power xdas. Most support and rom postings are now on the telegram however so its probably best to check there. Its a bit less riskier to hard brick your phone because of ab partitioning and the bootloader and recovery are separate now. Motorola also has flashfiles which can help you recover from a hard brick situation making it possible to recover. I would say if youre afraid to attempt it or if anything goes wrong to get help from the MotoG8Official telegram.

Weird, I don't think I've had or heard of an issue with the battery/notification light, im pretty sure there's a setting to enable/disable it but I haven't personally actively used the los builds so I don't know if it exists, where it would be, or what it starts as.
You can actually take the payload.bin from any rom and extract it using a python script then you'll get the images that should be flashable.
Is there a specific version of Android required for successful installation ? Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the time you have put into this.
I am encountering a strange bug. Every time I go to settings>system the app crashes. I just did a clean install.
Edit: I installed again, but this time I actually went into my recovery and did a wipe and format, everything working smoothly.
This work on the Moto Stylus 2021 I assume ? And have to downgrade to Android 10, correct ? I upgraded to 11 not knowing. Still waiting for OEM Unlock to enable (new device, takes a week apparently). Any advice n how to expedite it ? Thanks in advance
