Hello everyone,
After the latest update of Google Chrome on Nov 13, the whole screen got black and just an address bar is visible, nothing works include uninstall, reinstall, restart, ...
Samsung support is horrible. After multiple emails, they can't understand the bug!
Anyone know a solution?
Also the are many note 8 and s3 are complaining under the Google Chrome app page in play store.
I have this same problem too. I tried to downgrade to previous google chrome versions and that didnt work. I even made a backup of chrome on my s3 and transferred it over and that didnt work. Heres the big one.....I even did a clean install on the rom im on and that didn't work. This also happened on another persons tablet in my house

I havent really used my watch in about 6-8months now. Decided to pair it to my phone for laughs and giggles.
Went to settings to see if there was any updates but nothing.
The current build is MEC231 - Android 6.0.1

I remember reading about Google enabling Lollipop devices to start using Google assistant but it's now mid January and my device still has bupkis! I have tried the unofficial ways to get it but they all fail on my stock, un-rooted T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I get the Google Assistant Launcher to install but after I do, a reminder it says device is not supported. I have the Play Services beta and Google Search Beta and still nothing, what the heck?
They recently updated Google to this crappy new style which removed the hamburger menu and puts everything on a disappearing bottom bar like iPhones, WTF?! Also it moves all personal items to this weird button that looks like a pimple art demo and the mail Google feed simply shows news? I would rather have my personal Google (scores, travel times, shipping info, etc) on my main page and click a button for the news.
Why does Google always fluck with sh!t? Does anyone know how to enable Google Assistant on the Note 3? Thanks in advance...

I've seen the app floating around the Play Store, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with Lollipop 5.0 since I'm running 8.1 via Lineage 15.1 (haggertk), but it's worth a try I guess.

Has anyone got a Nokia X7 (Chinese version of Nokia 8.1) and managed to install Play services and PlayStore, since I want to order X7 and would like to know is it possible to use play services without problems (language is not an issue for me since it has English)?

U can simply install Google Playstore apk. Play service is already inbuilt. No need to install Play service. Just install Playstore apk

So, here's what I know about the CN ROM. What Rajeev has said is all correct. There are just a few changes with the Android Pie update.
1. It supports more languages out of the box. Sounds like they will make this global at some point and meanwhile cooking only in China.
2. Play Services are inbuilt, yes. However there are certain Google apps which don't work as you'd expect. A few examples are: Ok Google, Google Location History, Google Pay wireless payments, etc.
3. I have noticed that Google Contacts Sync was removed with the Pie update. So, syncing Google contacts to and from the phone has become slightly harder now. If you only need occasional sync then it is okay.
All said, the Global version of the ROM should be available at some point. So, there are chances (subject to compatibility. 90% of Nokia phones can do that) that you'll be able to flash it and convert it into Android One ROM.
I have purchased Nokia x7 from China (Taobao). It can install google play. You can select language when first turn on the phone. English version is also available. However, I still find Nokia 8.1 rom for x7 phone.

How are you satisfied with the phone in general, and do you have issues with Google Contacts Sync like singhnsk mentioned above? Thanks
Nokia 8.1 has no Gorilla Glass ,,, Not even CG1 ,,, do X7.1 +, or 7.1 has

that should be done ,,but then its still no justification for no use of Hardened glass at this price point ,considering that Cheaper ones now giving CG6(Max pro M2)

Not sure what happened in your friend's phone but i already put 3 times before my case arrive. Nothing happens. 3rd one is around 3 feet. Nothing happens. Thats the reason i orderd Case.

Exactly I have dropped mine once from 4 feet height,without any case or glass,just using a simple flexible screen protector as I used on Nokia 7 plus, nothing at all on screen has happened

I'm unable to understand your query though. I have used the CN ROM for long and the Google account verification SMS just comes out fine to the device. Maybe you can temporarily turn of 2-factor authentication or use SIM card in another phone temporarily to receive the SMS messages.

There are differences between the Nokia 8.1 and X7.
- Nokia X7 doesn't have Android One
- Nokia X7 doesn't have NFC
- Nokia X7 doesn't support all the LTE bands

I recently bought one of these from eBay, seems to work well enough, but infuriatingly, it won't update higher than Android 4.1.2. I'm sure OTA updates are supposed to go up to 4.4.2, but perhaps Samsung have stopped supplying it now?
I managed to find and sideload Google Play Movies and Amazon Prime Video so that my daughter (9 y.o.) can watch some of her vids, but can't find an old version of Disney+ that'll work (KitKat is as far back as I can get). The YouTube app doesn't work, though YT itself can be watched through Chrome.
Is the KK update available and easily installable without rooting? Or will I need to flash a new ROM? If the latter, any recommendation for one that is stable and still has Stylus support, please? I've not done any flashing since I owned a Windows Mobile device back in the mid 00s, when XDA really meant XDA!
