[APP][XPOSED] MotoGuide v1.0.8 - Remove carrier label, charging LED, DoubleTap2Wake - Moto G Themes and Apps

Hi everyone, here's my little contribution to the scene : MotoGuide.
A simple mod for the Xposed framework that will hide the infamous carrier label in our Statusbar.
I plan to add other little hacks later, but as I'm just starting my Android programming journey it will take time.
Yep, it's my first Android application, so please be kind enough not to flame me
Current functionality:
- Hide carrier label in status bar (on by default)
- Ability to restart the StatusBar from the app, no longer need to reboot your phone to en/disable the label.
- Hide or Edit the carrier label on the Lockscreen (will add Notification Area later).
- Enable Charging LED while the phone is charging
- If Faux123's kernel is installed, then you can advantage of the great DoubleTap2Wake function (get it here )
Requirements:
Rooted Moto G (tested solely on my XT1032 JB - Retail FR rom)
Latest XPOSED Framework (download it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401)
Installation:
First install the latest version of the amazing Xposed framework by Rovo89.
Then install the latest version of MotoGuide attached in the download section below and enable it.
Don't forget to reboot your phone for changes to take effect.
MotoGuide will be located in the [Module] section of the Xposed app, you just need to check/uncheck whatever option you want (only one by now).
You no longer need to reboot your phone, just hit the [Apply Changes] button.
However, it requires a SuperUser access, so please grant it otherwise i can't kill and restart the SystemUI.apk.
Download:
I'm not asking for donations, but if you download it, hit the Thanks button!
@all:
For all the others, please bare with me, thanks for your patience.
I've fixed those nasty bugs for JB but i still got issues with KK (if it takes too much time, i'll release it this way, and fix it later stating that i might totaly not work on KK).
So by now just download the v1.0.4 until i release 1.0.8. Thanks for your comprehension.
Edit:
I've broke my phone, lot's of screen glitches while using the GPS so i sent it to repair. So i'll share the beta of version 1.0.8 for you guys to try.
Please read post #252 carefully, don't share it elsewhere. Thanks.
Screenshots are not relevant anymore, the app went through huge UI changes. I'll keep them here until i update them.

I just made a thread requesting this in General. You have my thanks kind sir, works perfect!

Awesome APP !....but I have a problem (NOT WITH YOUR APP). I am asking in this thread because I assume you might know a possible way to fix my problem. I have the US GSM model (16GB) running rooted 4.4.2. I am currently using prepaid service (T-Mobile)...problem is...I only see "T-Mobile" when I pulled down the notification bar. How can I make my phone actually SHOW "T-Mobile" in the statusbar ? Why does my phone not show the carrier and I have seen other Moto G's that do show the carrier name ?

Mine does not show carrier either. I am on exact same thing you are. Except not a prepaid plan. Is it possible that the KitKat update removed the carrier in statusbar? I didn't have a SIM card the entire 15 minutes I was on JB to compare. Didn't pay attention on JB actually. I am sure that a xposed module would help you with your problem. Try GravityBox.

haha, I even started messing with APKtools/APK Multi-Tools to see if I could manualloy change the files in the system.....but oddly enough I had zero luck even finding the "Systemui.apk" in system/app/...it didnt show up or anything ! I am still confused about that.

You can use this or as an alternative, use MotoExposed from play store

MotoXposed is made for the MotoX, so most of the hacks are not compatible with our Moto-G. You might enable an option and get stuck in a bootloop while rebooting.
MotoGuide is made specificaly by me who actually owns a Moto-G, so i know what works or not.

Great job on this! I'm looking forward to the future features! Another reason to root my phone when I get it!

Yeah, but if you get stuck in a bootloop, xposed gives you a zip to flash in order to get out by disabling all xposed modules. So it isn't too bad of a risk. (Friendly suggestion. You should not feel like I am being rude )

I thought that I saw in a video guide a US version with AT&T. Let me look it up
Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc4Ucm1Qw7g&feature=youtube_gdata_player
CNET has a Moto G with T-Mobile showing sadly, that is on a Global model. Perhaps this is why I was confused. You are correct.
US = No Carrier
Global = Yes

New version added.
You can now edit or hide the Carrier label on Lockscreen.
You can now turn the LED while charging your phone (Charging LED).

Thnx .. amazing job
well done

I'm aware that you've only tested this on JB, so this is just for your information.
It doesn't seem to work on Stock KitKat, the following appears in the Xposed Framework logs.

Can you please try v1.0.4 and see if it works ?
Which version are you on, xt1032, xt1033, xt1034 (single or dual sim) ?
Thanks a lot.

Information
Let's face it, Android 4.3 is still a great build and you don't need to be on 4.4, there are issues with that ROM too that developers like myself had to work out (camera sucked, distorted volume sounds, SD card permissions, and the list goes on), if you are suffering from reboots, This build is for you and has plenty of goodies to keep you going.
This is the latest and final 4.3 build for the I9505-G Google Edition S4 official from Google/Samsung, It's a very clean base, I have made quite a few optimizations to the ROM and added the tools necessary to give it the features (100% working features that is) of an AOSP ROM, Google edition does not use open source proprietary which mean's Bluetooth, and most importantly the camera will work way better out of the box since Samsung builds this ROM (Full HDR support, 1080p video recording, no green lines on the front cam), This ROM is a perfect daily driver for users who are experiencing reboots on 4.4 due to the modem/bootloader issues on certain phones.

Save those hardware buttons! Use LMT Launcher
Lets face it, the more you press that home button the faster the flex cable is going to malfunction, one thing you can do is find some sort of gesture launcher, LMT launcher is free, frequently updated and offers a ton of customization. 1 swipe up from the bottom and I can 1) turn the screen off 2) home button 3) multitask 4)quick settings 5)notification panel
my pie
pie 1 - key - 26 (this turns off screen)
pie 2 - home
pie 3 - key- 187 (this enables multitasking menu without graphical glitch using non root method)
pie4 - notification pulldown
pie5 - quicksettings

build is up, 6am in Canada but I wanted to build something extremely stable that will work for ALL PHONES and not carry the bloat of touchwiz, This build is mainly for those phones that just won't play nice on 4.4 atm, I will do whatever it takes to push out good ROMs that EVERYONE can enjoy

Then the ROM developer had no idea what they were doing or you just flashed wrong?, Battery will be good on this build if flashed via my instructions in the OP
This is the best 4.3 GE ROM for me The only "problem" i have encountered with ALL 4.3 GE ROMs is that Skype causes battery drain. It doesn't really close when you sign out and stays in memory receiving wake events and you have it close it with a task manager app. Any idea to fix this behavior?
Battery life is great here!!! That's not surprise ) As I remember, from all 4.3 GE ROMs only Jamal's had bad battery life.

Trust me, you don't need "Operation Killjoy" on GE. in most cases init.d scripts like that are out dated and actually do more harm then good
just enjoy the ROM bud, it's a perfect daily driver for someone who wants GE with features and no RANDOM REBOOTS (4.4)
Hangs on unlocking simcard
Hi
Thanks for the Rom. I installed with full wipe as instructed in the OP. My phone boots normally but hangs on the notification "unlocking sim card". The Lte connection however seems to work as the indicator shows. I have rebooted the phone a few times but that didn't solve it.
I am on the pre knox bootloader.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,
first of all, thanks for your work! I'm interested on this ROM, but concerned about camera picture quality. I read before on AndroidPolice that the google experience S4 actually had a much worse picture quality, all due to the camera app. Does this ROM improve that in any manner? How do the pictures compare to the stock TW camera app?
Thanks!

first of all, thanks for your work! I'm interested on this ROM, but concerned about camera picture quality. I read before on AndroidPolice that the google experience S4 actually had a much worse picture quality, all due to the camera app. Does this ROM improve that in any manner? How do the pictures compare to the stock TW camera app?
Thanks!

The camera is this build uses stock samsung drivers so quality will not be an issue here The features of the camera app are not as plentiful as the touchwiz camera but any 3rd party app will work perfectly to solve that if it is a problem, AOSP roms have the camera issues since they use open source drivers

I had until this rom no problem with sim-cards. The sim card will be unlocked in the background but the phone hangs then..
Only restart to recovery and delete the cache helps me..
I can confirm that this build have a good camera quality and every thing is smooth.
Thank you.

No worries man
Thanks all. Everything should be working good on it.
Let me know if anything is hosed. After awhile it's all just a blur.
Hopefully I only did a mild clean up on the RC3 that's been running well for testers.
I think the only thing that may need to be added is eZs wake lock. Or not.... We'll see. I didn't get that far. Just wanted to get the release out.
eZ, if you do go thru and see that I have implemented it, PM me. I know I have some in build.prop but I think I found that after hours and hours of viewing online build.props.
I'll add you to hangouts here shortly.
I found the Gear Manager for S5 last night. It installed, and opened, that's half the battle. I don't have one so I can't test it.
I'm trying to keep this relevant and functionally. The same as other ROMs but not. So if after a couple of days if something needs to be added or removed let me know.
This rom is the maximum, only the note lacks the launcher and 3, but I managed to inserting it, I think I'll be here for a long time thanks for this amazing rom diskele

I'll look into it ...
I did some quick surfing.. Fount out some people fixed theirs by getting compressed air and blowing out the top earpiece hole.. I've seen that several times in other threads.
But I'm looking at build.prop tweaks also.
So curious if anyone is having that problem also. I'm testing mine now.

In call screen shut off working on mine... Mine's straight up just flashed with nothing else on it,
I just found this
Under *#7353# -> Proximity Sensor: It always says "Working" and vibrates. From the other tests in this menu I assume this is the "On" state and that the correct behavior would be to not vibrate and display a different message when the sensor is "Off" (ie: nothing is close to the sensor).
Just tested on mine...
Just wave your hand over sensor. I did notice it had to be like 2-3 inches away.

Beanstalk 4.4.4065 - 10/8/14
Built for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8013)
I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by Scott.Hart.Bti.
This is a build composed off the CM11 builds, and there have been a lot features added on top of it.
So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability.
Many of the additional code additions came from Slim ROM and also Derteufels build,
and have been modified to work with Beanstalk.
A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication.
Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project.
BeanStalk is always evolving, new features coming in, bugs being ironed out.
Thanks to @skyliner33v for the boot animation and upcoming wallpapers!

***Also, @pimpmaneaton is doing some work on a project called Co-Beanstalk.
He deserves credit for adding OmniSwitch (an awesome app thanks to OmniRom),
adding the new XPosed installer on its own separate tab,
changing the look of the Beanstalk options menu a little,
and adding the black Beanstalk boot animation.
All of the above is included in this build.
Co-Beanstalk source: https://github.com/Co-BeanStalk
I am also working on a build with @pimpmaneaton's DracoKernel, and will post it once I confirm everything is working.
READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY!!!!
I am NOT responsible for anything that happens to your device in the process of flashing, or at any other time for that matter. Please have some knowledge of flashing custom roms and setting things up.
I can confirm this build works on the Galaxy Note N8013 edition ONLY!! I do not have the N8000 or any other tablet to test it on.
If someone does want to test this rom on the N8000 or another variation, and it does work, please post the so other users will know, and I can update the post.
But again, this is your choice and I will not take responsibility for anything that happens to your tablet during flashing.
As long as I have the N8013 tablet, I will be updating Beanstalk regularly, and may consider compiling other roms for it as well. I noticed we don't have many custom roms for our device, and I love Beanstalk, so that's why I decided to build.
I do have a job, and I am doing this in my free time, and because I enjoy it.
I will not tolerate any rudeness or anyone being disrespectful in this thread.
I understand there are some noobs, and I will do my best to answer any questions you have.
If you don't like the rom, that's your choice, and you can go find another one to flash, or better yet, build your own.

I recommend using PA GApps from this link -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Pick the package that suits you or use whatever GApps package you prefer as long as it's 4.4.4.
Big thanks to @TKruzze to keeping the GApps updated for everyone.
**Flashing**
I use TWRP Recovery to flash roms from this link - http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/110
If you don't already use TWRP, but want to, you can flash it with the Flashify app from the Play Store,
Mobile Odin, or use the directions to install via your PC.
I haven't ever used CWM on my tablet, but if you are comfortable with it, you can use it to flash this rom.
Just make sure you have a custom recovery installed, because this rom won't flash with stock recovery.
This is my method of flashing:
- Boot into Recovery
- ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG!
- Do a factory reset. In TWRP, I also select "Format Data" to wipe completely clean.
If you are just upgrading from another Beanstalk 4.4 build, you shouldn't have to wipe completely
unless you had a lot of issues on the previous build.
AFTER Backup & Wipe:
- Flash Rom
- Flash GApps
- Reboot System
*Allow at least 5 minutes for it to boot the first time before thinking it has failed.
When the Welcome screen appears, I allow at least 10 minutes for the rom to settle in. I don't touch anything.
Afterwards, I set everything up.
**A Few Extra Tips**
The following are just tips from personal experience, not required.
The regular SuperUser is included in this rom, but I always download SuperSU from the Play Store.
(Thanks as always to @Chainfire for SuperSU).
Open SuperSU, and a popup will ask you to update the SU binary. Choose OK.
If it asks you to use the Normal method or the TWRP/CWM method, try Normal the first time.
If it fails, do it again and choose TWRP/CWM method.
You will get a confirmation in installed properly.
I also download BusyBox from the Play Store.
Open BusyBox, click Install on the bottom left, then Smart Install.
If you PM me with questions, please allow me a little time to answer.
You can also get me on Hangouts - [email protected]

Is there some reason you are using XHalo instead of Halo that is built into the rom?
When I installed MWSidebarLauncher, and tried to launch an app in Halo, it only launched normally. Are you using OmniROM's Floating Window?
EDIT: I eventually found the settings to enable the built in sidebar launcher as well as Halo. But I still have issues when trying to view two apps side by side.
This is working great on my n8010 (now showing it as a n8013 lol) only issue is in settings it seems to cut off the right hand side so the sliding tabs aren't fully visible.

Can you post screenshots? I'm not exactly sure what you mean..since it's working on the 8010, I may compile for a build for it so it will show as an 8010 and not an 8013..

No, I don't use omnirom's floating window.. If I want something to open in a floating window, I swipe a notification to the left in the notification drawer.. I used to use Halo with floating window a lot, but have used omniswitch for a while, and it's so fast I don't worry about floating anymore.. There are so many settings and options in Beanstalk it takes a while to find everything lol

Ok, I understand now.. I very seldom use mine in landscape unless I'm playing Angry Birds lol... I'm going to do a new build today or tonight because some stuff was changed with the source I'm using.. I'll try to get a 8010 version out too if you would want to test it for me..

In the Xposed settings, there is a Netflix workaround.. See if that helps..
I can't find anything in xposed settings on netflix.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk
If you to settings, Xposed options, on the very first screen there is a Netflix work around...
Edit: I was just informed that the Netflix workaround hasn't worked for a while... The suggestion was to use an older version of Netflix.. The dev team I joined is awesome, so once they get all other major issues fixed, they can work on the other issues.. Beanstalk will get better and better as time goes on, so just bear with us for a while..

[MODPACK] MCR modpack for the Nexus 9 (r10.1)

MoDaCo Custom ROMs (MCRs) have always been based on the stock ROM for devices. I've recently switched my daily driver phone to a Nexus 6 and my daily driver tablet to a Nexus 9, giving me an opportunity to have a good play with Lollipop, the new Android release.
On the whole, the latest version of Android is fantastic, but as is often the case, I have seen a few opportunities for tweaks and improvements, which once again has started me thinking about MCRs, particularly with the loss of Xposed on Lollipop which had become the de-facto way to apply tweaks.
With this in mind, i've started looking at the best way to create and package modifications, and this modpack for the Nexus 5, 6 and 9 is the first step on that road.
Initially, the changes are purely to SystemUI. Only 2 files are changed, no wipe is needed if you already have an unlocked bootloader (stock certificates are retained). A 'MCR Control' application is included to configure the modifications.
Features (some are only available on specific devices / telephony enabled devices):
'MCR Control' configuration application
A one handed mode which moves the button towards the edge on the navigation bar - press and hold back or recents to toggle
Multiple battery level display options for status bar and lockscreen
Option to enable the stock Lollipop battery percent feature
Option to remove carrier label from lockscreen
Option to reverse order of navigation buttons
Option to retain network type indicators when roaming
Option to disable '4G for LTE' indicator
Option to disable orange colouring of status bar and navigation bar separately on battery saver
Option to hide clock
Option to centre clock
Option to disable icon when alarm is set
Option to ignore priority when determining whether to show heads up notifications
Option to disable heads up notifications altogether
Option to double tap status bar to sleep
Option to double tap navigation bar to sleep
Option to enable double tap to wake (requires root, be sure to auth SuperSU after clicking the box, applies a few seconds after each boot) - NEXUS 6 ONLY
Option to enable red / blue / green charging LED (requires root, be sure to auth SuperSU after clicking the box, applies a few seconds after each boot) - NEXUS 6 ONLY
Options to lock status and navigation bars to black (user request - Nexus 9 blacklight bleed mitigation)
Option to enable rotation in lockscreen
Option for re-boot menu in status bar header
All options are applied in real time
Compatible with both odexed and deodexed stock ROMs
To install:
Ensure your device is running STOCK LRX22C - use on any other ROM version will make bad things happen!
Download the zip file below
Install or boot TWRP using fastboot
Backup your stock system partition (you'll need to restore this to apply OTAs)
Push the modpack zip file to /sdcard
Install the zip file in the usual manner
Download:
r10.1 - DOWNLOAD - MD5: 902591a9c3a098943dbfda545495f826
To revert to stock:
Restore your backup of the system partition!
To revert to stock if you didn't back up:
Download the correct factory image from your device from the Nexus Factory Images page
Extract the files (including the internal images zip)
Locate the system img file, reboot your device to bootloader and 'fastboot flash system system.img'
Boot to recovery and wipe the dalvik-cache
Future releases will add features, but as always MCR will be focused on adding features in a stock style way - you should wonder whether they are mods or whether they were always there.
Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!

Hi. Im looking for a way to make the status bar permanently black regardless of the app im in. Can someone who understands this please advise?
Im rooted of course, currently running stock but willing to change roms or whatever. Just need a black status bar because of overpowered backlight all along the top edge of the screen When the status bar is black its almost invisible however...
Thanks in advance.

Well, possible by modding the SystemUI (as this app does). i.e. I'd need to add it as a feature...

I see. I would be PayPal greatful if you added such a feature! Would really help in my case. In fact I browsed 3 devices at the shop and they all had the same problem. Mine is the first revision unfortunately, as the backlight was fixed in later versions.
This is an easy addition actually, i'll put it in the next update.
P
That would be brilliant thanks very much! Tell me, will it work on cm? Just this feature I mean?
I've got no issue moving back to stock if it'll fix that backlight!

Thank you kindly for fulfilling my request! It helps a lot.
I'm trying to make a donation, but there seems to be some issue with the MCR Control links:
https://bitly.com/a/warning?url=htt...BF:btn_donateCC_LG.gif:NonHosted&hash=14DCAX6
Lollipopalooza is built upon stock LRX22C rom. Do you think it will mess stuff up if I install this on it? I'll make a backup and see for myself.
Edit: It works! MCR basically overrides the custom features of the lollipopalooza rom, and there's so conflicts what so ever. At least from my extension of testing So thank you so much Paul.
I love the one handed feature. Works incredibly well, even when lollipopalooza has a similar feature. Said feature is just diabled and rendered useless, which is a good thing. This is better.
Also really loving the double tap lockscreen to sleep thing.
Some feedback: One handed mode could move the keys even further to the sides. They don't move a whole lot on the nexus 9, and there's still a lot of space between the edges of the navigation bar and the soft keys. I'm sure the rom's built in feature moved them even more.
Battery level display option "show text only with charging icon" seems to be the opposite of what it says it's going to do. What I mean is, when charging it shows both battery icon and text (correct behavior), but when discharging the battery icon disappears and the text is still showing. What I expected was that it shows text and icon when charging, but when it's not charging it only shows the battery icon. If it works for everyone else, it might just be my rom fault.
Tiny feature request
Hi !
I really don't know if it is hard to implement but i would surely love to have the quick pin unlock feature that I've seen on so many roms, but still be on stock. I've searched but haven't found anything.
Wish I could this myself...
Thanks !!
This pack really helped me thank you. I just wish we could take the thing apart and fix these things. But I guess I'll see if I can just get a screen replacement for mine ))

Strange. As far as I know, it works perfectly here as I change Routines. Have you tried reinstalling?
Can I roll back (uninstall)without issues if i do not like it?
Yes you can.

That isn't the Trick. Seems to me the Problem is in the not existing localization for German OT other languages.
The APP is always uninstalling after it relaunches. E.g. after changing a Routine or creating one. Or after reboot it considers the not existing translation... And is uninstalling.
I am on CRISSROMM 4.3 , the first boot all is fine ! the second it bugging (screen cmopletly start to be crazy ! shut on/off on /off...) and then it unistall alone ... :/
I modefide the default routine just once and its Everything fine so far.
Hellooo, I just wanted to ask, is this compatible with the Galaxy S4 running TW L 5.0.1?
Edit:
I just re-read it and you stated it was for Galaxy running 6.0.1+
Is it possible to bring it to lollipop? Like for Galaxy S4, N3, S5, N4?
