【All Roms】【Xposed Guide】¤¤¤ Smaller navbar, PIE Controls and lots of other mods! ¤¤¤ - G2 Android Development

【All Roms】【Xposed Guide】¤¤¤ Smaller navbar, PIE Controls and lots of other mods! ¤¤¤
The origins of this mod is now discontinued.
Because installing the Xposed Framework + GravityBox [KK] module gives the same function, it even adds alot of other nice stuff as well.
Updating this feels useless when the navigation bar can be easily resized with GravityBox with no recovery flashing needed.
And it works right away with every stock rom, nightly and so on...
Download & more info HERE!
¤ Install Xposed.apk and apply framework.
¤ Download GravityBox [KK] module, activate & reboot.
¤ Go to the GravityBox app and select your preferences! Rebooting again to apply certain changes might be necessary.
¤ Happy tweaking GravityBox module works with both Stock, CM11 and other roms.
Old thread info:
Info:
Hello
This is a navigation bar dpi mod for CyanogenMod 11 roms.
It makes the navigation bar smaller and gives you more free screen space!
Tested and working on lastest CM11 nightly builds for LG G2 D802 model.
Might work on other LG G2 models running CM11, please make backup, try & report to me!
I only have the D802 myself to test the mod on.
I plan to update this mod approx. once a week or whenever I feel like it.
Older versions should work to flash on new ones, however you could lose some minor framework changes.

CyanogenMod already have support for changing navbar buttons? I think its in the customization settings, never cared to try it out tho.

Hey, thanks for the mod but would you mind if you make it a bit smaller? please i think 30dpi would be fine

Will this work on other roms too?
I love the small bar, but I don't like the Cm11 bugs and freezes and want to switch the rom.
How can I change it manually, if this mod not works?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the dev section strictly for developers? This is simply regurgitated xmods from the real developer, who has their own thread land website already. Did XDA lose their standards or what? Let me reiterate, I'm not being rude, bit I'm seeing more and more non dev related material in the dev section....sorry but, posting regurgitated material does not.make you an instant dev. Where are the Moderators? This thread doesn't belong here, but rather in themes or apps, or general, that's assuming it's allowed for the umpteenth time already. Sorry, bit this is ridiculous,

Why not just refer to the real devs of this instead? They have a dedicated thread, and website. What is this thread for? No offense, but you didn't create this, and.shouldn't be giving advice about it. Please leave this for the developers.

First, this actually was a navbar dpi mod made by me for this device by following a guide made for another device. But then I found out that Xposed could do the same thing more or less. So this mod was canceled and for those interested I linked the Xposed module alternative. Since there was no development going on anymore I asked to have this thread moved or deleted, but I guess it just got stuck here.
So yeah you are kinda right man! However when you don't know the story you shouldn't take me for a fool in the first place.

[MOD] - Enhanced Quick Settings with Battery bar for One V - New 17.06.2012

Hey Guys,
Here I present an EQS-Mod (Enhanced Quick Settings) for One V. I used the EQS-Mod of j4n87 on One X as a base. I removed a lot of code that was meant for compliance with his pokemon-rom and his tweaks app. Then I added the MIUI-battery bar of pvyParts.
I also removed the options for vibrate/silent because they are already in my APM-Mod here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27145164#post27145164.
It offers some often used settings on a click on the provider text in pulled down statusbar.
To switch on/off and edit the settings of MIUI-batterybar, use the battery-bar app in apptray. (There are still some settings, like animation, that don't work yet. I will update this mod with new versions as soon as there are some. Look into his thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878267 for more info)
Thanks to:
j4n87 for the great base code and the permission to use it for this one
pvyParts for the MIUI-bar
ckpv5 for many hours of testing .
Changelog:
17.06.12: Initial release
Important:
This mod is for deodexed roms of base 1.56. Please do NOT use with any other base (could work, need not) or stock rom (will end in bootloop).
Do not use any other mods that modify systemUI.apk or the two would eliminate each other which could lead unwanted effects.
Please make nandroid before flashing.
Flash in recovery.

No, sorry. You would have to decompile it and edit the source directly. I really shy away from the work to write an app for that.
The one thing I noticed is that I can't see my apps when I pull down the notification bar so like I can't quickly open up my messages from the notification bar now I have to find the app and open it there, fix plz lol only issue I'm having tho great job

Is there anyway this could be flashed on a rezound running a one x base rom? I'm on newts rom and and i cant stand being without the quicksettings being in the provider text haha. I tried modding it myself as my first project but i just removed my notification bar haha epic fail. I wanna learn but dunno where to start.

It surely can't be flashed on rezound as it is. You would have to completely port it. As I don't know the rezound rom, I don't know how big the differences are.

[ROM][WIP] [R&D] Light Jelly MB1 NOW....still need testers

I posted this in general today and it was advised that I move it here to get more help. The post from my post is general is copied below and explains everything. I am attempting to follow all rules by formatting my post correctly. If this is in the wrong section, mods please accept my apology and remove.Any feedback, good or bad, is welcomed.
I've been tinkering around making my own roms for awhile now. I just stated back because I was bored and felt like doing something. I am not a dev , by any means, so I am not making a public tom because I simply do not know how to implement bug fixes when I need them( With the advice that I received earlier from my post in general, it seems like I would get more help here. Thus the tagging as R&D.. With that being said, I've slimmed down the MA6 rom to my liking and would like help on making a few final adjustments. The rom is as follows.
Changelog
Verision 1.2
*Updated to MB1....thanks Freeza for stock MB1 base
*Ktoonsez Kernel....Found HERE
*Nova laucher stock
*Project Google theme.....Found HERE and HERE
*Removed more apps
*Better battery life
Version 0.6
*Stock, deodexed, rooted(SuperSU) MA6
*Stock kernel
*No touchwiz launcher(Touchwiz parts still very much in there just not the launcher)
*Stock Nexus 4.2 launcher
*Removed touchwiz clock package and widgets...added 4.2 clock package(alarm, timer, stopwatch)
*Removed alot of stuff I didn't want or need(file still pretty big, hoping you guys can help with that)
*Not many bugs(At least from what I'm seeing)
Problems with rom so far
*On first boot, messaging app in default launcher points to nowhere(You have to delete shortcut and re-add messaging) Fixed by Nova
*Launcher seems to redraw(correct term?) sometimes.( Icons big sometimes, sometimes not) Fixed by Nova
*Other stuff I hadn't tested
Rom Link is here Light_Jelly_1.2

I added WIP to your title to show work in progress. Also please note which kernel you are using in the OP. If not stock then please add a link to where kernel source can be found.
Good luck with your project, this is a great community and you should get lots of help here.
You may want to keep a current bug list and changelog in the OP to keep repeated reports of the same bug.
Cheers

Your messaging bug comes from messaging being called secmms on touchwiz. Or maybe secmessaging
Still. That's why. Might be able fix that with some XML edits to the launcher.

I have decompiled the apk and am now trying to find where it points to. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Have made it all the way to version 1.2. Will update first post later on today(uploading right now).
Preview of changes
*Themed
*Updated to MB1
*Alternative Kernel
*Nova Launcher is stock now
*Removed even more apps
Version 1.2 is posted for you guys to check out. Thanks again.
Awesomeness. re-downloadingzzzzz XD!
So how is it working out for you guys.
Running quite smooth. Loving the Project Google theme, running a few stress tests on battery and CPU.
tweaked the K747 governors for better battery life and i'll be back to reply how long it's lasted.
I'm not really a fan of home launcher's anymore and i usually stick with stock TW BUT I am using
The Razr M launcher because of the widget it has only accustomed to it. No bottlenecks from what I see.
Self Modifications -
I removed the samsung boot up and shutdown qmg files for faster boots.
removed the poweron and off sounds.
Removed the Camera Click sound.
Changed Wifi Tethering application to Beta 2 V5
App issues experienced -
The Wifi Tether beta 2 Modv4 app kept FCing when i start it even after i cleared data / wipe cache and dalvik. I uninstalled it
and installed the Beta 2 Modv5 and it's working great, No idea if others are having this problem though but just install the Mod V5
and it should be ready to go.
All in all, Its Light and de-bloated, solid and fast when overclocked.

Oh and one more thing. A suggestion to add to your ROM, a huge flipfont clean mega pack
You guys can download it from posts on the XDA forums or google it... Or here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/602tmb2wkex4hz8/com.monotype.android.font.cleanflipfontpack.apk
You are correct with the Wifi Tether. I have replaced app in new version. The boot animation is supposed to be different but it didn't take. I'm playing with aroma right now to give more options on install. I have also toyed with a few other options. Currently thinking of including LMT launcher. How much battery life have you sucked out so far? I am also thinking of removing all sounds and making a flashable pack to put them back. Hopefully that will save me some room in the rom. I want to make it small as possible but still be Sammy based.
Reason why the custom boot animations didn't work was because you
needed to reflash the bootanimation4u file after installing the updated
k747 kernel. It has custom boot support you just needed to flash that file
after flashing k747
The sounds are only 10 to 30 kb each ( system sounds ) and the ringtones
alarms etc are 100-200 kbs so it isnt that big. TW itself is just... Huge O_O
From 7 am today to 12 pm i went from 95% to 70% but that was because i
was running battery calibration and doing cpu stress tests
If i was never doing anything at all but just screen on itd be about
somewhat 1-3 days long depending on how a person uses it.

All insercoin perfect, I refer some suggestions:
. - Add icons such as gmail, earth etc.
. - In the phone application, add black background in contact, groups and last calls.
. - In settings, black background, respecting the icons that are simply fantastic
Excuse the post, but it really was eager for a black mod for this rom.

I have not looked at that rom. But it should work. Worst case, you won't get all the images themed. This just injects images to the apk's. If the chef changed any of the apk images or recompiled them differently then just those images won't be replaced. I doubt that would happen.
Thanks so much for the theme, I was waiting for a black theme for long time. Much appreciated. Beer...Confirmation number: 8U275323RE5753445

+1. or maybe grey :good:
I found "bugs", or something that you forgot :
- In the settings menu, the power icon is always green like stock.
- The B for Beat icon is too much dark, a grey icon will be better because we can't see it in the music app, or in the appdrawer.
- The icon + to add a contact when you tap the avatar in sms app is stock too.
It's a great theme ! Nice work btw, i love it

[ LISTING][THEMES] Working directory of themes usable on KK VZW Note3

Purpose:
This thread will be a work in progress. It will serve as a directory of themes on other devices and/or Note3 variants that will work with ours. Each listing will have a few screen shots showing a- how it looks, and b- that it works on our Note3.
Also look at Post #2 for other themed apps and resources that may be of interest!
Click to collapse
Requirements:
This directory will be broken into 2 skill level categories.
1-Easy: Flash in SafeStrap Recovery as is, no edits required.
2-Moderate: some monor changes are required to make the theme work safely on our Note 3 (name edits, simple deletions) that anyone with a general working knowledge of how to decompress/recompress zip files for flashing in SS could do it.
☆Changes that involve moving stuff around or editing the install script (like aroma installer based themes) will not be listed. For those to work, permission from the creator to PORT it will be required, and it should have it's own thread!☆
Click to collapse
Contribution:
Anyone can! As long as the theme compatibility fits the above requirements, you provide screen shots, and you provide a working link to the original theme's thread here on xda. If it fits into the "moderate skill" category, you must also provide what files you had to change/delete to get it set up properly. You may post it on your own, or pm me the details and I will add it. Credit for the user giving each listing will be given.
☆You must link to the original Thread! Linking to the download location (original or self-made) is not allowed and will be edited or removed!☆

Updating:
I will update the OP and listings as time permits.
Click to collapse
Questions:
Questions and comments about problems with installation of the themes listed here should be posted here. These themes were not actually meant for our device, so let's try and keep the original theme's thread clear of problems and try to solve them here. Posting on the original theme's thread thank the creator is strongly encouraged!

[THEME'S] NC5D [KK 4.4]-[JB 4.3][*** KromeX Themes ***"]
He's got a few themes here. But I installed the Universal Blak Krome.
This one takes a little modding, but looks good! (Follow link, and go to post #760 for download links)
Unzip the theme and make the following edits to make it work:
Files to delete:
System/app/SecEmail_J.apk (it kept f/c at startup)
System/priv-app/VVM.apk (Sprint app)
File to edit:
vrtheme/system/app/SBrowser_SPR.apk. Remove the "_SPR" if you want the browser themed.
A few nice things. The phone, contacts, and mms apps are inverted! Haven't tried the others on his thread.
Also worth noting. There is a full framework-res.apk that is installed. If you're not running a custom rom, it will be fine. If you are, try it anyways. And restore a backup if you have issues.

Installed bobcat and then edited blak krome to only install phone mms and contacts for the inverted look. Dang near perfect and everything is now themed.

One of the nice things about knowing your way around an install zip package... Mix n match! I'm running elements of darkhorse, blak krome, bobcat, and cobalt.

I tried this method and it appears to have broke the group message function on mms. Did you do anything besides leave the apks mentioned?

There may be some quirks. It it a Sprint theme. What does it do? I haven't tried using group sms and don't have this loaded right now.

This is true as I'm on Verizon. I can send a send a group message. However when someone responds to the group message, it returns in a single response instead of maintaining the group thread. That's the only issue I've noticed so far. Thanks

Now mms won't send. Just clocks and the message never goes through. It's all good. Everything else functions perfect. I can continue to use the base mms. ?

Only part of Cobalt I have right now is the camera app.
<Note3>
Very nice looking theme. I am hoping to eventually see some kind of AOSP theme that works on our current KK build. There is one on the T-Mobile area but sadly the apps included with it force close like crazy on our current KK build.

May I inquire as to what dialer/contacts/messaging you are using? If you mentioned it before I apologize for missing it.
I have flashed this theme and have the white background in those 3 things still. My guess is that you took APKs from something else to replace them with that had dark backgrounds. If I'm correct in that, can you point me what you used?
EDIT: are they from dark horse, black chrome, or cobalt?
EDIT2: I'm and idiot! So sorry just saw the answer up the page on using contacts/dialer/messaging from blak chrome. Sorry to waste space asking lol.

Share your MODS and Tweaks!

In order to improve the user experience on your Android, several Tweaks are available throughout the XDA Forum but very few are known.
So I invite you guys to post here your best Mod/Tweak that you currently use on your phone so we can have the best experience available!
*Disclaimer* - I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your phone, I tried on mine and everything went well. Please always have a backup of your ROM if things go south.
I'll start with a few ones :
The first one is XTREMEMusic™, a mod so powerful that will turn your phone into a top quality speaker!
@androidexpert35 sure did a very nice job on this one, he was able to provide us with a top quality sound in the palm of our hands.
ALL CREDITS GOES TO HIM.
Make sure you check it out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3029951
Another awesome tweak that I have found is PurePerformanceX™, which is like a super mega tweak pack made by @Jeeko which will boost your phone into intergalactical measures making it extremely fluid, fast and battery friendly.
I'm able to get almost a 7-Hour SoT because of this mod, I'm really glad I came across this it sure helped me out.
(even though it's listed on the Samsung Galaxy SII forums, I still flashed on mine and the results are amazing. Make sure you're using CM and flash the CM version.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...s/mod-pureperformancesx-zeno-edition-t2360985
Once again, all credits goes to @Jeeko.
And of course, the good old xposed, made by @rovo89 which is one of the best things I've ever seen being created for Android, isn't going to be off this list.
Here are some of the modules that I use:

A quick description of each one of them :
Amplify - a life saving module created by @cryptyk, which will help you save battery from day one by allowing you to control your alarms, wakelocks and etc.
Android N-ify - is a module, as the name suggests, it will transform your Android into the newly launched Android N. Created by @MrWasdennnoch, it really gives your Android a fresh look and more stylish.
Battery home icon - as the name suggests, it transforms your virtual home button into your battery icon, saving space on your status bar and making everything more stylish. Thumbs up for @MohammadAG for making this one and for @Xtraordinair for fixing bugs and adding cool features!
Colummize Settings - Again, as the name suggests, it will turn your settings into columns instead of that boring list layout. Thumbs up for @Firefly1337.
Lockscreen MODS - to make life easier, @DVDandroid thought that launching apps from your lockscreen was a good thing, and well... He was right. This module saves me so much time and looks awesome on my lockscreen. It sure is a very nice addition to your phone.
Materialize Xposed - very straightforward module. Gives your xposed app that material look that we all love. Thumbs up for @SArnab©®
PerfectColorBar - as some of you might know, the need to customize your Android everyday and give it that amazing look and feel is a need in our lives. With this Mod you'll never have to worry about if you status bar color doesn't match the app you're using, or if you couldn't see your toast notification because it's transparent and boring. @flarejune sure did a nice job on this one, make sure you check it out.
XposedSettingsInjector - gives you the option to add xposed to your settings. Thanks to @arilotter.
YouTube Adaway - well, I bet 99% of the XDA community knows this module and as the name suggests it removes all those boring ads from YouTube. Thank you @wanam for this amazing module.
Once again, thanks to all the devs that made these modules possible!
(sorry for any English typo lol)
Best regards.
