you can't remove the moto x back and in the "Moto G vs GPE Moto G" shows that the Motorola version of the Moto G having a white M at the back and the GPE having a glossy black M.
I have Motorola version of Moto G from Germany and I have black M

This is Moto x with black shell , you can see that the audio output is on the opposite side in the moto G.

Me too, it is very Strange!
The Moto G units sent to reviewers had the white M logo on it. AFAIK, it is not a standard configuration though.
From what I've seen the white letter on back appears to be the Google play edition

I noticed after I bought the LGOGP that there really wasn't a huge selection of cases for my phone. So now I'm considering 3D printing my phone and a case for it. Does anybody already have a 3D image file of the phone or a case for it, or know what the the dimensions for such a case would be?

I use my phone way to much around water, mud and oil and I do not want my phone getting messed up.
I know there are rumors of the Atlas case if incipio would ever get their head out of their ass.
Lifeproof created a moto g case, so keep an eye there. I have hope a moto x will follow.

I have a phone case mounted on my kayak. Bought for my moto atrix 4g, but my x fits in it just fine. Ram Mounts Aquabox Pro 20. I've had it underwater before for several minutes, with no leakage.

Actually I have. Used it to go out on the lake many a time. I've also used them for rainy concerts. But that's just me.

I'm revisiting this just to share my experience. My phone was in its ram mount case and the boat capsized. After righting the boat, there was some fog inside the case but the phone was working fine. Within an hour it became too hot to touch and bricked. When i applied for a warranty claim i rolled the dice and said no water damage. Luckily, I got a new one for free from moto, no problems.
After that mishap, I started researching cases some more. I'm purchasing an Armor-X universal. Its rated IPX8 which means its certified to work underwater. I'll post again after I've tried it.

yup. drop them in water all you want. they will still work. camera lens can get water in it but that drys out eventually. (camera casing lens i mean)
I bought the Overboard case. It's far from perfect -- basically a hardened, buoyant Ziploc bag with a lanyard and carabiner -- but it does the job.
Has anyone come across a case with just our little android guy on it. Like the Cruzerlite bugdroid curcuit without the circuit. Been looking since I got the phone . And android green would be cool for color too

So after some extensive research for the last few days I have not found exactly what I've been looking for. I kinda feel like U2.
What I would like is a fairly thin (doesn't have to be crazy thin) but something not too bulky. Crystal clear case so that my customized moto x is visible. Opening or something that allows the side button color to be pretty visible. And would really love either an opening for the M on the back or even better a dimpled casing on the back where the M is. I've found plenty that meet all but 1 criteria, so I was wondering if you all had any suggestions for getting my whole wish list.
Again:
Not too clunky crystal clear case
Good side button visibility
Opening or dimpled back for the M
Any help would be immensely appreciated!

I bought the casemate naked tough case. Its a clear bumper and a crystal clear hard case that snaps over it. Tons of protection and very slim, hardly any bulk. Bought mine on eBay for 13 bucks. I have a white with bamboo back. Best buy also sells a clear you case. Those are the only two I've found that are crystal clear. The other are all frosted.
