Anything new in WP7.8 other than the screen

I got the 7.8 finally.
Did not wait for any other methods thought I would get it when it comes officially via Zune.
Got the update yesterday and I was really down.
Other than the screen (Which is pretty good now) and the lock screen I could not find anything at all.
I am not sure if there are other changes under the hood which we do not know about but for the layman it ends there.
Have you all found anything new with 7.8 or were you also in the same boat as me

bluetooth share and ringtone maker for lumias.
the camera is slightly better
new tile templates, apps can now use circular and large tile templates, so far only flip was supported.
Not many things in the OS itself, but opens a lot of new possibilities for the developers.
IMO, the startscreen alone is a huge boost, the small tile is incredibly useful.

I only found the lock screen could be set to Bing, and the start screen tile size can be changed. For Message, if you resize it to biggest, it will show the latest msg on the tile, which is a nice feature.

I did not see the ringtone maker in the Nokia collection yet so that is one item missing
So till the developers bring us something cool using the new SDK there is nothing for WP7.8

WP7.8 is not out yet, thats why you cant see the ringtone maker or the bluetooth share yet.

7.8 is out for all winphones now! Blutooth sharing and Ringtone maker are for Nokia phones only! Has not been ported for other phones yet and I doubt it will be!

Works on my HD2 and my Titan

I noticed below changes on Samsung Omnia W with WP7.8 Upgrade-
- New Boot Screen with new Windows logo
- 20 accent colours for Live Tiles
- Re-sizeable tiles in Homescreen
- Bing Wallpaper for Lock screen
- New Icons for Office, Marketplace, Xbox apps
Changes not present (which I expected)-
- Bluetooth file sharing app
- Language support for Indian Languages
- Offline Navigation app from Nokia
- Internet Explorer 10

[APP] CONTROL CENTER - iOS Style

Hi Folks,
Dont know if youve already come across this, but this is an awesome APP to control our android device - CONTROL CENTER. It is (quite) similar to the IOS style control centre coming soon on iOS 7 and we now have it here already!!
The biggest advantage for me personally is that you can now access all the controls by swiping up from the bottom of the screen instead of reaching out and swiping down from the top of the screen (which given the size of where the todays screen are getting to, is not as convenient really). It looks good and cool, is quite customizable and flexible. The only 2 cons i could notice were a persistent notification on the status bar and a little jerky and not so smooth slide up animations but im sure the developer is already at it.
And hey, it works on 4.3 and is FREE!!

What UI or theme tweaks would you like to have for your P6 ?

What changes would you like for your UI ?
Maybe possible suggestions can be forwarded to the Huawei developers so that they add into the new firmware upgrades. :victory:
Let me start with one : An LG G2 type guest user login option. I got no idea if its possible but ...
Another suggestion would be to get rid of the iphone looking theme with those box icons. I always stayed away from the iphone because of that.
And yes as some other user on this forum asked for, a more detailed notification on the lock screen. :good:

I manufactured a rumour and posted on facebook:
Okay guys this is what the insider sources tell me on the upcoming Emotion 2.0 upgrade.
- Firstly chucking the old iphone looking theme for a more premium look and finish theme with a default standard brand huawei theme.
- The lock screen would allow the guest login mode.
- The bottom tray app icons would be swipe to scroll type making room for more.
- New Huawei exclusive live widgets and floating apps including a floating sms/email app.
- There is going to be selection of animated pet or figure (also targeting Asian users having a craze for Hello Kitty, Rilakuma, etc) which would be possible to pop open from anywhere and through this pet all notifications, alarms, internet search, floating apps, voice control, camera, connectivity toggles, etc would be possible. The pet can be awakened with a phone shake.
- The smart scroll feature that scrolls according to head movements making reading user friendly.
- Message reading is going to be upgraded with lot of swipe features like the swipe to delete or swipe to send feature.
- Swipe call feature on contacts if you want to directly call from contacts rather than the two step process of entering into the contact.
And many more nice tweaks which i don't remember right now. But from the sound of what he said, something big is coming soon by before last quarter or first quarter next year along with the latest android version.

Why just black ? Why not user customizable along with theme and with less visibility so that wallpapers show behind it like Windows desktop bottom bar ?
I didn't see much use with the app drawer. All the frequent use apps i put on the front for quicker use and so my usage of app drawer was once in a while. Id say they have to come up with something new for placing the not so frequently used apps.

hey everyone , i haven't found a quite lightweight and stable rom for nokia x so, stock rom is perfect for me but i dont like the launcher anyway and while using custom launcher i cant see my notifications unless i lock the app and see in lock screen. so if there is any way i can get pull down notifications just like any other normal android please suggest me..or if anyone could develop a way to see notifications any other way it would be very helpful

I don't think so. Search for any apps that can provide you with notifications.

You can use the notifier pro app.It works very well. ?

I tried many notifier apps.. actually the "notifier pro app" suggested by rajat doesn't use the down slide notification panel..
The others I tried that should do it, don't work on Nokia X except 2:
-Super Status Bar... but it lock and crash the phone (I had to remove battery to unlock the phone)
-Inoty, it works PERFECTLY. With the down slide you will se a panel with two tabs, the first contains the calendar and other things. Going right you will se the second tab with all the notifications. If you go in the notifications tab and slide up the panel, everytime you slide it down again you will see directly the notifications tab (and not the calendar tab). Inoty panel will appear instead of normal Nokia X status panel, in Inoty panel there aren't the switches for wifi, bluetooth etc.. but it's sufficient to slide down again from the top of the screen to switch to the normal Nokia X status panel where you can find the missing buttons.

Flyme OS is a heavily modified Android variant developed by the Meizu team for their MX smartphone line. This variant is based on Android 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP and offers a few unique solutions that this Chinese OEM created for their project. And in the eyes of many, this OS is quite beautiful and almost every piece of the ROM and its UI elements have been themed to match Meizu’s philosophy.
Flyme 4.0 has a set of Flyme icons for hundreds of the most popular apps. Personally I’m not that keen on the Flyme icons as they appear to large, but Meizu had thought about that and switching from Flyme to standard icons is as simple as flicking a switch.
All your apps are arranged on the home screens of Flyme 4.0, there is no app draw, a common feature with all the ROMs here. To keep things tidy we have a dock for our most used 4 apps and other icons can be arranged in folders.

It was a super solid stable build... Had not even a single issue.. Using it for more than 3 days....
Main features of attraction
1.runs latest Flyme ui + lp 5.1.1 beneath
2.camera especially
3.music no breaks or glitches at all
4.tools
5.Google builtin integration
6.stability
In my case battery is average but much better than miui.
For that I'm using gods kernel 5...(have to try v6 yet).. Now the bettery performance is also super Cool

Bro.. I do have a Meizu m2 note with me...and I do love those off screen gestures(but drains some battery too)... And I'm not the dev for this ROM original devs are chainese...Multirom.me.. and I don't think our kernel does support all those screen gestures... (not present in Redmi note 3g & 4g builds too)..if you want to have wake gestures try any custom kernels with those features...

I found this...
cons :
1. First of all there is no lockscreen notifications. We all love this feature from Lollipop. these notifications are introduced in Flyme 5. but flyme 5 isn't ported to our device yet..
2. We cant select two different ringtones for each sim card. Some people like me may need this..
3. There isn't any clock widget
4. Themes app wasn't translated to English yet..
5. There is no option for selecting different actions for buttons. (If it is there, how to do that..?)
6. No quick settings from Notification bar tiles. (I mean you cant go to the respective settings if long press a tile on the status bar)
7. Smart touch is not actually what Meizu mobiles have. (we have one big dot on the screen. So we have to tap or double tap the dot to do the actions. It wont work if the Screen is locked. But in Meizu mobiles it works even screen is locked and we can also select our desired gesture (Off screen) to open our desired app (or unlock or something else..)
8. There no HDR option in camera.. (why?)

Yes that was a nice review bro..
As you mentioned 3.clock... It was present in the previous build which was a weather come clock widget...which was displayed in chainese only... May b the dev thought of removing for that reason.
.and 4.theme...in my case (I have my Meizu a/c) so can access theme store (but in chainese as u mentioned) can't apply thremes...and can't sync data with Flyme a/c.... Once again thanx for reviewing about this rom on my thread

There is some problem with contacts syncing. When I try to sync, only those contacts get synced which I recently merged(to avoid duplicity). They are just 3, and I have over 800 contacts. Please help.

i faced the same issue...
rom is very nice.. but only the problem is that after signing in into google acount, it shows that user data from google is being synchronized but actually its not... dont knw whats the wrong with it.
so i made .vcf contacts backup file in ext sdcard and restored it in contacts app.
