Mini suit protection - Moto X Accessories

Has anyone dropped the Moto X with the mini suit lightweight clear case? Just got it and it doesn't seem to protect the top or bottom. It also looks like the $25 one sold by Moto is the same way. I got the bamboo back, so I don't want any of the frosted cases. Here is the one in question:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GAHCJ6U/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I would recommend you consider the Power Support clear case. I got the grip model and have been pleased with it. Completely clear back, so you can see your design no problem (I was concerned for the same reason). The grip feels nice and the case is sturdy. Only thing I don't like is how it makes the buttons feel (not as clicky, harder to press).

[Q] ActiveX or commuter

I used to have an otter box commuter, however the outshell cracked pretty bad. The situation that cracked it is pretty bad, I'm surprised that only the case broke, so I have nothing bad to say about the protective levels of the commuter. However, I obviously need a new case, since right now I just have the commuters silicone cover on. I was thinking about getting another commuter, but the innocase activeX case caught my eye. Does anyone have any opinions about these two cases in comparison to each other?
I haven't tried the commuter, but the active-x case is really nice. I've recently picked up a defender (just had to try it), but the fit is not as nice as the active x. Plus the active x has the corner protection with the spider. I'd give the active x a shot. I think I have some images posted in a thread here in accessories.
dm
A big concern about the Active-X is the buttons. They look like they'd be hard to press with the case on. How is it?
Much easier then on the defender. I never had any button issues. Easy to push, can do just by feel etc. One thing that is really nice on the active x is the feeling of the side contours, it feels nice and more secure in your hand. I did have some rubber peeling issues on a blue activex. Seido made good on it, through the reseller, and sent me another case, without needing the old case back, or even images of it actually.
So in this house we have three captivates, 2 currently in activex cases and one/mine currently in a defender. I still have the extra active x case and might be going back.

Love my commuter.
Fit is perfect and buttons are easily pressible.
There is a small crack developing on the top corner by the micro-usb port. It has taken some major damage though, so.
Commuter is by far the best captivate case

I've heard outterbox has great customer service you should call them and see if you can get the shell replaced. They might do it for free.
LOVE my Commuter. Dropped it several times, not even a scratch in the plastic of the case.

Best looking case with lip?

Currently the search function is down, but basically I am looking for a case for my new One. I love the build quality and aesthetics of the phone, but sadly it gives me a heart attack leaving it naked, I feel like I handle it like a live bomb haha. I never drop my phone, so drop protection isn't important to me, but what IS important to me is scratch protection on this aluminum body, the glass and camera, so I am looking for the best aesthetically looking option to provide scratch protection and a lip on the front so the phone can be placed face down or on hard surfaces without a worry.
I don't want to add too much bulk to the phone, so the cases I am considering are the KLD Oscar 2: http://www.amazon.com/Oscar-Style-S...d=1383336670&sr=1-1&keywords=htc+one+case+kld
...and the Diztronic TPU case: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Mat...8&qid=1383334154&sr=1-2&keywords=htc+one+case
I prefer TPU cases, but I hate the camera cut out for the Diztronic one, even though they make great products. I also don't want a white or clear case because I know they normally discolor after a while.
So please help with suggestions that are:
-Nice aesthetic look and feel
-Not very bulky
-dark color (only because I want to avoid the discoloration issues)
-soft or matte material
-provides face down and camera table protection/scratch protection
-Under $20
I have also have heard many reports of the Double Dip cases scratching phones, so even though I like some of the black alternative options, I don't really want to risk it.
I'm using a fosmon dura fro m7 case from amazon in blue, it is cheap, looks pretty good (have received some compliments) works well enough and doesn't show discoloration like the previous clear tpu case I had.
Try the Poetic case.
I have the black one and it keeps the phone slim. However, the top and bottom edges are relatively exposed.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
i use the diztronic in black. the smooth rubber has a nice feel in my hands, slides easily in and out of jeans and doesn't add a lot of bulk. the camera cutout doesnt bother me, i prefer it to some easily scratched piece of plexi or w/e.
dropped my phone on brick stairs last week. it bounced around and landed face down, not a mark on the screen. for $10, i dont think i could be happier.

No it doesn't. It has edges on both sides that will lift the phone up a bit. See attached picture from Amazon.
@bcparker
I quite like the cruzerlite cases. They are very high quality and have very nice designs. imo, their TPU cases are the best TPU cases on the market (I like TPU cases)
http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/htc/one
I know you said no clear tpu cases but I really am liking this one so far, the cimo grip. I figure that for $10 I can afford to buy another in a few months if it discolors. They do come in other colors but I really like to be able to see the back of the phone, at least on a phone this nice. I like the fact that all of the edges are protected. The only thing I do not like so far is that the volume is almost impossible to change via the side buttons. The case covers the volume and you're trying to push through the case. Not a huge deal breaker as I rarely change the volume but it's a little annoying. I may take a knife and cut out the plastic. Again, it's cheap enough to play around with. If I ruin it I can buy another....

Take a look at the body glove case, I have it on mine from day one and it still looks like new, have also dropped it more then once on the driveway and it took it like a champ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/271291449737?lpid=82
I just got my One, and I also did not like the feel if it naked. I ended up getting a case from Cruzerlite on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Smoke-Cruzerl...TF8&qid=1383509176&sr=8-2&keywords=htc+one+a2
It doesn't add to much bulk and feels very good in my hand. I have one for my Razr Maxx and my 2013 N7.
Diztronic TPU here. Cheap and works well.
I've got a Ballistic Aspira and it flew off the roof of my SUV at 35mph and the phone is without a scratch, all hardware and software just fine, and the case only has a few hairline cracks that don't even affect the integrity of the case! Best 35 bucks I ever spent (and I bought retail)

I might be getting slow in my old age but I realized the joke while browsing different threads 5 minutes later
I ended up getting a Meifeng (Bear Motion) in grey off eBay. I picked it up over the Amazon bear motion models simply because I thought the logo was nicer looking on the case and it was $7.50 with free shipping vs around $12 without Amazon prime. I LOVE how it looks (rear cutouts are perfect) and the texture is great. I recommend it for fellow sure handed users.
Lip is almost non-existent and I think the volume button is tough to press and the SIM cutout unnecessary, but the look and texture is sooo primo, looks like it the phone was meant to look like that. I think I'm going to pick up another brand case also though. I value the clean, premium look and feel, so some of these suggestions with gaudy logos or designs (including my man the little android guy) aren't necessarily for me.
The poetic palettes seem nice, I didn't even know colors were available. Here are the rest I'm considering.
-Nillkin Shield
-Poetic Palette
-KLD Oscar 2
-Diztronic or Hyperion TPU

Which Spigen case is best for Nexus 5, between the neohybrid and slimarmour?

Hey guys,
I know this is totally subjective. However, I have been looking for a case for my nexus 5. I like the Spigen NeoHybrid, and Slimarmor so far, however I have heard bad things about the Neohybrid, and that the Slimarmor is somewhat bulky. Some guidance is needed. Thank you!

Spigen cases are always good to use and I have used slim armour of it...and I just love that case....so my vote will go for Slim Armour.....
---------- Post added at 02:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 PM ----------
you can also check out the ultra hybrid one too...thats too a really nice case to go for....:good:
sometimes thick cases will mess with the camera by changing the light sensitivity because the lens and/or flash are shrouded. go on amazon and read the reviews... i decided against the slim armor because of potential camera issues and because people complained about the buttons either being hard to press, or no feedback/bad feel from the buttons. but it does look like it would protect the phone well and with tpu instead of cheap silicone like all those old iphone cases i had to deal with years ago i'm sure it's still a pretty good case. but i went with the neo hybrid and it should be here this afternoon so i'll give my opinion then.
I have the slim armour. I was a bit disappointed at how bulky it is when I first put it on my Nexus, however I have grown accustomed to it and it is a good quality case.
The button feedback is actually the best I've ever experienced on a case. Really nice.
I would personally prefer a slimmer case but if you're not worried about bulk, slim armour is a definite one to look at.
I got a Slim Armor and the buttons are no good. Makes them feel spongy. I'm returning it and ordering a Neo Hybrid.
Pretty awesome. Thank you guys!! Anyone encountered fitting problems with the neohybrid, especially the use of the headset jack?
I have the slimarmor. The power button is a bit too snug and i feel alot of dusk seeps into the bottom of the case.
However, I have dropped the phone 2 times on the ground outside (concrete) and there's not one nick on the case itself and the phone is perfectly fine. It does add a bit of bulk, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I can't promise I'll stay with this one for good, but It will definitely be in rotation with other cases

Feeling better about my slim armor now!
I got the neo hybrid. I was unhappy with the size it made the phone and The grippiness. I think it looks nice though.
I returned it. Now have the nilkin v series flip case on order.

I have both and like the slim armor better. Better protection and list slippery. If you want slimmer I also have the ultra hybrid which I feel is made better than the neo hybrid and is slimmer. That's my 2 cents on the issue.
i have the neo hybrid and think it's fine as a case. the case buttons transfer the tactile feel of the phone's buttons very well.

It is good to have real life drop test. This is the exact reason why I bought this case (ordered, shipped, but not received yet).

Any issues with camera flash?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
i just got the neo hybrid. it adds more bulk to the phone than i thought... the back is thin but something about squaring off the back makes it feel a lot bigger. also the tpu + bumper adds some width. i was afraid of button access problems through the cutouts with some of the tpu cases out there so i didn't go with a cheap tpu case, maybe i would have been happier with a contoured case rather than this but overall it's a very good case. the power button feedback is a little less, but the button works consistently, my dennon headphones fit, but others might not, the phone stills charges wirelessly without problems.
I picked up the Slim Armor and love it. Great protection around the corners, screen, and camera lens. For a two layer case, it doesn't feel bulky at all. Fits very nice in the hand IMO.

None that I've noticed with my Neo Hybrid. I just wish it wasn't so difficult to remove.
I haven't actually tried either case (because I haven't even gotten my phone yet... backorder ) but I would trade bulkiness for protection by getting the dual layer Slim Armor. I have had a dual layer case on my current phone and I have dropped a couple times over the past two years. In combination with a screen protector, a dual layer case can be the best insurance for your phone without actually paying $100-200 for real insurance.
I was originally planning on the Neo Hybrid just cuz it looks so damn nice but more than 1 person has said its very slippery... and that'd be silly to buy a case only for you to drop it more often.
I ordered the Slim Armor instead, waiting for it to arrive. Amazon's shipping is kind of wonky, they said 2 day delivery but the package has just sat at UPS's facilities for the past 3 days and its scheduled for tomorrow- oh wait, of course UPS changed the date to Thursday.
Hate UPS, but cant wait to get my hands on the case. Hoping it doesn't have the accursed power button issue (though I reckon it won't be too difficult to fix anyway).
I recently got the slim armor. Quality case. Make sure you play around with putting it on. The buttons are very sensitive as you've probably read elsewhere and would turn the phone off. After about 2 tries I got it on and the buttons are working normally.:good:

How firmly does it hold the phone. I don't care for open bottom - i used cases only for camera protection. Anyway, this thin case definitely wont absorb any shock.
What would bother me - whether the phone will not slode out during call etc.

I use a clear Cimo case. It's a little thicker than that one, and costs $10.00, but I'm very happy with it.
Sturdy enough that it feels like it'll protect my phone from a drop, looks good, and still shows off my phone's good looks. There are claims in the reviews that the clear version will yellow in time, but I've had mine for a few months and it's still clear. I should point out that I'm a nightshift worker so the case doesn't see a lot of UV light so your mileage may vary.
i have been using this 0.33mm thin case. initially it has a very dry powdery feel to it.. now that seems to have worn off
i not sure what material it is made up of.. can anyone guess
Ordered, thanks.
Had one of those Cimo cases.. comes w/ the One in the bonus kit if you purchase from costco. It's thinner than most phone cases, but still fairly thick (~1mm ish?). Looking forward to this .3mm
anyone have any recommendations for skin like protectors?
Links are dead. Whats the name of the case on ebay?

[Q] Recommend me a tough, protective case

Hi all,
I'm struggling to find a readily available (in the UK at least), tough, protective case for the Moto X (2013).
I'm looking for a case that will prevent my Moto X from being damaged when it is dropped and that doesn't slide around too much when the phone is on a table.
Can anybody help me out?
I ordered a Supcase from Amazon and I've been happy with it.
My two favorite cases (and I have been through a bunch of 'em) are:
Incipio Dual Pro: good dual layer protection, extremely grippy outer shell, excellent button feedback, easily installed and removed.
Cons are the soft touch finish picks up stains easily, and the silicone inner liner is a dust magnet.
Trident Aegis: even more protection than the Incipio, especially on the corners. Button feel is also good.
Cons are it's hard plastic bag is not as grippy as the Incipio, and it is noticeably more difficult to install and remove, and it is a bit larger.
For 90% of my needs the Incipio is the winner.

+1 for the supcase.
only thing i hate on the case is that the color is on the back, not on the rim. my old one was the opposite it was much better.
also, just like the phone without case, if you lay it on the table and use with one finger, the phone will get pushed all over the desk and spin because of the concave back. hate that as well.
all that considered, it was still the least worst.
now they have a transparent back one that does have the color on the rim. i'd get that one. even the dev edition having that lame white back
I have the "smoke" back with the black sides. The back isn't completely clear. I like it though it does get scratched a bit.
I wouldn't say it gets pushed all over, but yes, it can move a bit. I use the calculator on my desk with one finger without much trouble.
I have the basic black stock VZW Moto X. No cool colors or designs.
Still looking!

So you've tried the suggestions in this thread and still have not found one you like? If that is not the case, what are we to make of this post?
I got the supcase and can confirm it's light weight and offer good protection. I also love the feel of the material.
But as with all cases, that one time you try to unlock with the phone resting on a table and the phone moves and spins is enough to drive you mad.
I'm now using a $1.99 case from monoprice. It's also protective and holds the phone to the table as if it were glued! Without holding in your pocket. Very happy with it. I will only use the supcase one now if I'm traveling.
