[CHINESE AND VIETANAMESE FORUMS] Roms, Apps and Tutorials for Optimus G Pro e98X/f240 - LG Optimus G Pro

Due to the lack of development for our device and for the simple fact that I doubt this will impact XDA Developers, here is a link to a Chinese and Russian forum. If you are using Google chrome and auto translate is not working, right click on the page and force translate to English.
Thanks for the heads up esimon311

Some of the posts are kinda hard to understand.. I've tried one of the stock based Roms that said it was e98x comparable and it worked good.Full wiped Flashed rom baseband and rebooted. One was very simpler to the G2 Rom on XDA...I'm gonna dig through the form this weekend and try a couple different Rome they have on there I saw a couple MIUI Roms I'll give them a try and report back.

Might be your firewall
I did notice an interesting CM ROM on there that had Sweep2wake kernel and a few other goodies. I have tried a few of the Stock Roms and they are ok but sometimes filled with bloat.

I turned off my firewall to see if it would work, and still no dice.
Maybe it isn't meant to be for me :-/

Try this link if not this site here is similar

I just tried the CM rom with the Sweep2wake and the feature does work, though it uses the lowest part of the screen (over the dock in fact) for the sweep, instead of the capacitive buttons - I was trying to type a message (using Swype) and I kept turning my screen off. It was very annoying lol.
Just a heads up for you guys if you made the same mistake
I have attached the kernel file here just in case somebody wants to test it on a CM KK based rom. (use at own risk) flash in recovery. I am not sure if it will work without build.prop editing but that is easy to do if anybody is interested let me know and I will give you the codes
Ahh it looks like it has more features than I thought. Here are the codes
Code:
Custom USB quick charge function: Modify the [system / build.prop] in fast_charger = * After the restart.
1, open the quick charge : fast_charger = 1.
2, closed fast charging : fast_charger = 0. Default paddling wake switch:
modify [system / build.prop] in sweep2wake = * After the restart.
1, open paddling wake : sweep2wake = 1. Default
2, close paddling wake : sweep2wake = 0.
Double-click the wake switch: modify [system / build.prop] in doubletap2wake = * after the restart.
1, open the double-click wake : doubletap2wake = 1. Default
2, close double-click wake : doubletap2wake = 0.
Touch wake saving switch: modify [system / build.prop] in pwrkey_suspend = * after the restart.
1, open power-saving mode : pwrkey_suspend = 1.
The system automatically enabled paddling and double sleep wake, when a user uses paddling or turn off the power button off-screen and double wake-up paddling.
2, turn off the power saving mode : pwrkey_suspend = 0. Default

Can you upload some of this ROMS for us to test it.

Man a custom kernel.
That is a great find.
Edit: The site had lokified TWRP and CM recoveries of different versions that can be flashed from recovery.
I have only tested the twrp2.7 which has external card support. I am attaching them here if anyone is interested.

T-Mobile Galaxy S2 Embryo 6 Discussion

" For those who have flashed Embryo before, know this already. EMBRYO Rom is a daily driver rom, if your intention is otherwise, please be good and move on, no need to waste a post in this thread. In addition, the ROM is infinitely customizable (toggle for everything) and packed with supercharged features on top of the Samsung TouchWiz ROM, via the ROMCustomizer. In effect, theming is going to be extremely sparse (currently the statusbar icons). If someone wants to provide me with icon sets for a consistent theme, I will be happy to make a zip."- mohan_kr of XDA ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074328 )
I tried this rom yesterday... and i gotta say it has some nice features..... it is an good ROM overall, i just couldnt get the 4G working .... or calls... i think if in the correct hands we can have ourselves another good TouchWiz ROM.
The boot animation is nifty... as well as the start up sound....
It also has the ripple effect enabler in the settings....
It comes with an ability to keep the screen on while you look at the phone because it recognizes eyes looking at the scrren ( not sure if it works )
camera seems to go into some kind of AT&T sync with a server which causes it to close once the connection doesnt occur.
It has the issue with the signal bars not showing, not sure if it was fixed in tweakwiz but i know a great dev could fix it.
You are assuming all the risk for flashing this. You have been warned.
FEATURES:
* [6.0] my insecure boot kernel. DO NOT FLASH ANY OTHER KERNEL.
* [6.0] Multiwindow (not working). Please disable in Display -> Settings.
* [6.0] Smart Stay (not working). But, all the platform binaries are patched, it will turn on, but face detection fails. Unfortunately, this leads into native JNI territory. will need some more time.
* [6.0] IMPORTANT: Screenshot keys remmapped to Power + Vol down.
* [6.0] Full 23-toggle treatment. (Use the advanced setting app to customize).
* [6.0] Configurable Extended Power Menu (including ScreenShot and Data Mode). Go to ROMCustomizer for configuration.
* [6.0] statusbar: Bunch of toggles for StatusBar notifications and icons.
* [6.0] statusbar: AOKP style statusbar clock configuration (including color).
* [6.0] statusbar: 1% battery mod.
* [6.0] email: toggle for bypassing all exchange policies. Please enable the toggle first before configuring e-mail.
* [6.0] S-Voice integrated.
* [6.0] Note-2: Gallery2 integrated.
* [6.0] Bunch of Easter Eggs in WiFi Advanced Settings Menu. (Please let me know if somethings does not work).
* [6.0] contacts: disabled permanently, ATT subscriber check.
* [6.0] mms: read/send delivery reports.
* [6.0] mms: bumped recipients to more than 10, although it is network provider dependent.
* [6.0] mms: bunch of options in MMS settings, too many to list here.
* [6.0] network: preferred network mode setting enabled (requires SIM unlock and RAT unlocked radio).
* [6.0] network: Native tethering enabled, important this will piggyback on your existing APN, not the standard ATT tethering APN.
* [6.0] network: bluetooth tethering enabled.
* [6.0] network: Internet calling enabled.
* [6.0] dialer: Call barring enabled
* [6.0] dialer: toggle for Exit to Home on End Call.
* [6.0] dialer: toggle for Ascending RingTone.
* [6.0] dialer: Voice call recording enabled.. You have to hit the menu button in the In call screen. The recording can be played back via the VoiceRecorder app.
* [6.0] wallpapers: unlocked all papers and moved them to /data/wallpapers.
* [6.0] nexus 7 bootanimation, toggle available to disable and if you wish to change drop it in the location as specified in the toggle.
* [6.0] launcher: toggle for wallpaper scrolling
* [6.0] Lockscreen: toggle for Ripple Lock.
* [6.0] Lockscreen: toggle for quick pin unlock.
* [6.0] Lockscreen: toggle for landscape mode.
* [6.0] Lockscreen: toggle for wake on volume keys.
* [6.0] Lockscreen: long press volume buttons for music control (only for Sammy Music Player).
* [6.0] system: enabled the clear button in addition to the quick setting button in the notification drawer.
* [6.0] system: toggle for long press back key to kill app.
* [6.0] system: AOKP style LCD Density changer.
* [6.0] system: toggle for ad-blocking.
* [6.0] system: toggle for GPS configuration.
* [6.0] system: toggle for boot sound, animation.
* [6.0] system: toggle for shutdown sound, animation.
* [6.0] system: toggle for activating and deactivating init scripts. (Note: the init scripts are disabled by default).
* [6.0] system: CPU underclock only. I/O scheduler setting.
No known major issues except for the ones listed here:
ISSUES :
* MultiWindow is currently experimental. It is a work in progress, please disable it in Settings -> Display.
* Smart Stay and Smart Rotate: I have patched the neccessary files. But face detection is not working, I believe I need native hacks for this. Hopefully, Sammy will have it for us.
* During First boot, there might be a race condition where ROMCustomizer needs root permissions and has initiated its set on boot scripts execution. It is rare, but might happen. This is harmless, open up SuperSu and Grant the permissions.
THANKS TO:
- mohan_kr for this ROM
- Samsung ofcourse, for doing a phenomenal job with the stock rom.
- wanam and lidroid for the 23 toggle mod.
- battery mod thread for the battery mod.
- Nexus 7 bootanimation, thanks to obtained
- AOKP (and CM) for ROMCustomizer inspiration.
Installation:
BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! BACK UP ! DID I SAY BACK UP ! YOUR CURRENT ROM? OKAY.. LEGGO!
Step 1) Make a Nandroid backup !
Step 2) Did you do Step 1)???? Do it now, already.
Step 3) Make sure you downloaded BOTH the required Packs ( PACK ONE, http://d-h.st/HBp PACK TWO: http://www.rdtk.net/files/Embryo6/02-ATT-SGH-I727-EMBRYO-6.0-core-data-cwm.zip) (PACK THREE OPTIONAL* http://d-h.st/pF7 ) for the ROM (check MD5SUM) onto your sdcard.
Step 4) If you want the bloat pack, download and move it to your sdcard.
Step 5) Boot into recovery.
Step 6) Format /system (usually in mounts and storage menu option)
Step 7) Format /data
Step 8) wipe data and cache partition
Step 9) Did you do Step 6, 7, and 8? If not, STOP, do NOT proceed.
Step 10) Choose the core pack (the one that starts with 01-...) and install. DO NOT BOOT YET
Step 11) Next, choose the data pack (the one that starts with 02-) and install. DO NOT BOOT YET, if you have optional pack.
Step 12) Next, install any optional packs (like the bloat pack, if you need ATT and Samsung bloat).
Step 13) Good, now reboot and LET IT WAIT till everything is installed. Do NOT touch and mess around with any keys. Your installation went fine, if you see the bootanimation and then the touchkey lights up (dalvik cache being built) and then installing applications screen shows up. If the touchkey's don't light up you are hosed, bad flash, reattempt!! Same thing if the installing applications do not show up.!

how install...?
I just installed this. Havnt tested the radio yet. But love the features, especially the volume button to skip music with the music widget! And the center clock!
This only needs a blue/black theme. Inverted gapps should work on this right?

Hopefully in the right hands this can be brought over entirely to our Hercules.. once I get home I will look at this ROM hopefully I can do something to it. Although it says that theming is hard to do or something...

Probably. Flash them after you flash the ROM.
So what is this ROM? How is it different than a regular ROM? I see there are a lot of cool features which are not actually implemented (like multi-view).

Wow this ROM really is bad ass. People, stop asking so many damn questions and just install the damn thing. You want regret it. Best Touchwiz 4.1 ROM out ATM.

[XPOSED] KnockOff for all AOSP devices!

Installed an AOSP rom and wish you had KnockOff?
Well now it is here
Simply download the file below, install xposed, enable the module, reboot your device, and voilà!

Also if you have G2 Xposed, there should now be a KnockOff setting for those of you with AOSP that will work on the latest beta.

This is awesome! I remember enjoying your G2 Xposed module on stock LG rom so much I had to donate! Thanks for giving us some AOSP goodness!
Works great on current cm11 nightly. Thank you. Now hopefully people will stop flooding posts with "is knock off working on this build???????"

So this allows Knock-Off globably throughout the rom or just the status bar? The Stock LG rom really only supported Knock-Off on the status bar where the Launcher supported Double-Tap = Screen Off (which I use flawlessly with Nova Prime + Screen Off app).
Very nicely done though. I know all of the dev threads get this constantly asked.
So this requires the "KnockOff.apk" + updated G2 Xposed Settings?
Nice work.
I purchased G2 xposed for the 30mins I used the stock LG rom so it's great to get some AOSP love.
We've been able to use knock off via a variety of methods but this will rule out the need for 3rd party apps and specific launchers.
Thanks!

This is great!! Do you mind sharing how it works?
I created an app which simply request root and send "input keyevent 26" command (Power Button). I use it for Nova Launcher double tap gesture but there is a one (1) second delay for the screen to turn off. I can't seem to get rid of the delay. Any advice? or do you mind building such a simple app for knock off from launcher?

I tried most apps in the Play Store, they all locks the screen immediately. (I'm using pattern lock)
I'm currently tasker as well, this is what i did:
A1: Keyguard [ Set: off ]
A2: System Lock
A3: Wait [ MS:15 Seconds:0 Minutes:0 Hours:0 Days:0 ]
A4: Stop [ With Error: off Task: ] If [ %SCREEN ~ on ]
A5: Keyguard [ Set: on ]
A6: System Lock
This will engage lock after 15 seconds. This doesn't look clean though since the task will run for 15 seconds after the screen is off.

Well, without root the send input command does not work. I tried it with "Terminal Emulator".
Well I'm not sure about with or without root (I'm rooted), but I double tap and my screen closes instantly without any delay. I also have swipe down for notifications and swipe up to hide status bar.

I found this ROM in moonlight's blog.
I don't have armani, I hve cancro, but I found this and wanted to share moonlight's work with you guys, hence I made a separate thread in General section as opposed to posting in the Discussion thread for RR in Android Dev section.
Features are really, REALLY, extreme, which are mentioned here. If anyone can test this and report back, That would be great! (Me? no, My internet giving 20kbps).

I JUST tried 5.4.1 for cancro and it seemed stable enough (except some device-specific issues due to new kernel sources). Only bug I found was Settings>Configurations>Misc caused FC. Probably cuz I dirty-flashed.
If you're looking to flash a 5.1 ROM, you might as well...
Download complete , will report after spending some time with it.

well the rom nearly tested my patient I was almost sure it bootlooped but setup wizard finally showed after 7 minutes. It appears to be based on syhost ROM ,but it is much smoother and faster.

BTW, I would suggest uninstalling apps MobileSyncService and ROMstatis. They are 3rd-party apps of dubious origins.

[APP] TorchLight Enabler - no root required

Hello,
Just want to share this simple app I made to enable torch when pressing volume up key when the screen is off. I know there are already many mods/xposed modules up there that can do this but this one works on stock rom without needing root access. It is a feature in earlier galaxy devices but for some reason was removed from the S6 or S6 Edge. This app enables it and allows to set timeout settings. Just install and enjoy.
Wow, this is so handy, thank you much

Thanks, works well on my Galaxy S6!
Will not install on S6 Edge??
Thanks! app works great. Wish there was a brightness setting the app settings though
Caused a Wakelock that didn't let my phone enter DeepSleep
Fantastic application

It does not work on Galaxy S6 flat.
The tweak works sometimes but when you really need is wrong.
Pity

This works amazing!!! Awesome job!
Could someone confirm my doubts please..?
I wonder, couldn't vol up/down button be accidentally pressed in the pocket?
And yeah..what about wakelock?
This is great app but if it'll drain my battery and prevent device to go to deep sleep then I'll skip it.

You can't. It is enabling the stock torchlight.
It is the same if you have a rooted phone and use an app like "sqlite editor" then navigate to "apps", "settings storage", "settings.db", "system" and add (by hitting the + sign) the lines
name = torchlight_enable and value = 1
And for the timeout setting
Add
name = torchlight_timeout and value = 30000 (i use 60000 i.e. 1 min)
Xpericle has just made it easier for those not comfortable with root and sqlite
I usually have to wake the device (by pressing the power key) and then lock it again to get the torch to work with volume up. I believe this is because the device does go into deepsleep and that is why some people say it doesn't work.

This.
After installing it, PhoneWindowManager.mTorchlightWakeLock is preventing my phone from going into deep sleep. Even after disabling and/or uninstalling it, the wakelock was still there and causing high battery drain.
OP, can you please help out?
Thanks.
Thank you ! Torchlight very good use
nice , thanks

there is more than 50 tweaks for Windows phone 8, a lot are working on Windows 10 mobile with full interop, unlock
Great! I was able to make 5 tiles, and make my phone operate one hand mode. But unfortunately, one hand mode is not fully featured - it does not resize apps to half of screen - it just crops upper half of screen, and moves it to the botton. Is it normal bug of not finished feature, or a bug made by our method?
My question is, does this happen on phones with this feature enabled by default?
And I need to add, that now, neither CustomPFD nor WPTweaker work.
EDIT: After second reboot, they do work however.

it's normal
when u press 2 sec home button u have the screen splitter that's all
Not resizing app
Okey, you are right. This seems to be strange to me, I thought I would let me do anything with my one hand, not just take part of screen lower. However, still it is superuseful for someone with small hand like me. Even on L920
[off] Someone have the RM for lumia 730 RM-1040... Can't remember the rest. Please, answer if you know

Hey, it just replaces value of 'Phone Manufacturer Model Name' to RM-938 that means Lumia 1520, what you can make in tab 'Device'
And I have a problem with it on my Lumia 1020: keyboard doesn't work in landscape mode, is there any solution?
