Now its crashing programs I don't have open, like Google search and Kindel.

Programs might work on the background. Try uninstalling programs you have installed recently.
Is your tablet rooted?

Nope. Unrooted awhile ago because it really didn't do anything for me. Uninstalled stuff and I keep a close watch on what's in the background but it's still slow. I think it's the new Android version.

Hmmmm... not well as I recall. Had to do a restore through Keis. But that was awhile ago, like 4 months. This problem has only manifested in the past two.

Clear cache, if doesn't help take a nandroid and reset.
If isn't stable, reflash firmware and then optionally restore applications.

[Q] XDA app

Has anyone been experiencing any FC's on the XDA app when attempting to access the settings section?
I haven't. I'm using the new paid version tho so I'm not sure.
You can always try clearing data or a fresh install.

I think it was 99 cents... not a huge difference, but it's ad-free, different layout options and it supports the site...so well worth it IMO.

I'm sorry man.. that sucks. Wish I could help.
Actually, the free XDA-Developers app is no longer on the market. I went and saw there was an update for it and I went to update it and it said the item couldn't be found. :|
Mine when open the app after still on the background sometime so didn't connect to the servers, press back button and FC, every time that happens.
I had some FC'S on mine as well and for some reason I had to do a cache/dalvik cache clean via recovery and that worked for me...not sure if that would do it for everyone or if you would even need to go that far but it fixed mine...

yea same thing here makes it impossible to search for things when on the go
They removed the free one from the market and for some reason that's when I started to get FC and when I removed it and tried to reinstall it that's when I realized that it was not in the market anymore I got the paid version cause it was only $.99 but it was kinda odd that it started to happen when they removed the free version.
Yeah, ran into this today. Been using the blue flashable xda for a long time. Today, it somehow auto updated. I hate the brown, but do wanna support xda. I saw comments in market saying the new version diesnt seem to remember 'last read'. And that that color picks in settings doesn't work.
Any chance of a blue themed version coming. ?

Ok. So I went to manage apps, uninstall updates. Uninstalled update on xda. Got my blue xda back, but icon was still diarrhea brown (fugly), was frustrated. But, just rebooted and all is back to blue. Sure hope someone will work on this.
Thanks in advance to jchisurf, riptide, stoney, aamikam, etc

pretty lame that the XDA free app is no longer available........I wenth ahead and forked over the .99 cents to purchase it...........but it would never install, so just before the 15 minutes elapsed, I did the "refund"...........pretty lame indeed............come on XDA, bring the free app back.
I saw there was an update and tried to update and the item wasn't found, but then I did a long hold on the app in "my apps" and there was an update option. That worked to update mine. No FCs so far!
I did have to re-select my subscribed threads. But the app now tells you if people are online!

What rom are you using ? Im MIKFROYO 4.5 and im having the same issues , but when running 4.4 it worked great , and its not just the XDA app ,,, its alot of the apps when you hit the menu to refresh .

[Q] Twitter Notifications

Hey,
I'm on a stock, non rooted, galaxy S3 on jelly bean 4.1.2. Notifications for every other app works except the official twitter app. They just stopped working on their own a few days ago. I've checked the settings, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, and everything except a hard reset. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yes I tried it. Didn't help, I also cleared the cache to no avail.
Also I tried a new app today, Plume. It wasn't getting any notifications either. This is getting extremely annoying...
Only other things I can think of is to try a factory reset. Backup all you can first though, including your internal sd. Sorry I dont have anything better at this point.
You could try to flash the latest firmware in Odin, but I have a feeling that wont do any good...
Is there a way to clear only dalvik cache without being rooted? If so, thats another thing you can try.

I had the same problem but was fixed with the new twitter app update
I found the fix. At least for me. On a PC go to twitter > settings > apps and revoke access to all the apps. Worked perfectly for me after restarting my phone and everything.

[Q] Device Management won't go away.

I checked my phone this morning, and in the pull down menu it said "Connecting to DM server.." It's been sitting like that for several hours and won't go away/connect. I've tried restarting my phone, but that didn't help. Anyone know what my problem may be?
I am also rooted, I don't know if that would interfere or not.
You could just freeze AT&T Software update using an app like bloatware freezer free, since you are rooted.

I don't think this is bloatware though, I think it's an AT&T update. Possibly the 4.2.2 update?

Boot Looping

Was this a problem on the first Note tablet? As I get to installing a lot of apps, over 500 is what I have, I've found that the tablet is going through an infinite boot loop. I'm talking to a Samsung rep online now about it. I've tried taking out the sd card, putting it back it, etc. It appears that some are going through this too with the Galaxy Note 3.

Updating my status. Through my own research, instead of trying to install all 500 at once, I've taken a more modest approach. I'm installing apps 4 at a time, letting it finish, powering down, then starting back up. It's working. I can get to my home screen without problem now. Maybe 500+ apps was too much of a strain for the file system to endure.

it would be pretty stupid if that's the case. it would seem a bug if anything, and serious for some. installing that 500th (or whatever the breaking point would be) at the wrong time could be disastrous.
perhaps we'll her more about it this weekend when the rest of us start getting ours. only i don't really have 500 apps that i want installed, lol.

+1... That is exactly what I do however i install about 10 apps at a time then reboot then do another 10, ETC...

500 is a big number for most people. i know some people who barely have 10 apps downloaded. i've got quite a bit but definitely not 500...
Yes I would agree with that as well, I don't know that I would have a advocate having 500 applications I think I may have 30 or 40 at the most

Please keep in mind that some apps my not be fully compatible with android 4.3 yet.
Mine goes through the Samsung animation 5 times... I'm not sure at what point started doing that. I have around 100 apps and I feel very lazy to reset it and install a few apps at the time to see if that fixes the problem... Anyway I wonder what the apps have to do with the booting?
For reference I'm using: Nova Launcher, Swiftkey and not rooted yet.
Maybe a future update will fix this....?

The question really is... Is that really a problem? Defective unit? Or an Android/Samsung software issue? Because it boots up anyway and works with no apparent problems... Is everyone else going through a similar/same issue?

DO NOT do this!! I did this on my own note 10.1 2014 after a bootlooping issue caused by corrupt files on my sd card (or so Ive theorized), and after doing so, my software showed as CUSTOM in the settings, and would not let me access the update servers. It was only after restoring the firmware via kies (a long and involved process, though less than odin, which probably would work too) that I was able to get it back to "Official". So unless you want to go through what I did, DO NOT factory reset via recovery. Id recommend doing everything else possible to fix this first.

Yes, google + definitely doesn't get along with the Note 8 on 4.2.2. You could always try wiping dalvik cache and cache in recovery and see if that helps. If its a specific app, go into app manager and clear its data and cache and that may help as well.
so far everything is working I had to reinstall a few apps but besides that its fine lets see what happens
