Missing Videos in Video Unlimited - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
Yesterday i´ve finished the setup of my new z1 compact. After log in to video unlimited i´m wondering - none of my 6 videos is showing in the video app. on my tablet z everything is fine and right before deactivate my old z1 in the video unlimited app the videos where also there.
but now?
On Tablet Z i can download and play all of them but nothing on my z1 compact.
Is this a bug?
What can i do?
Greetings,
SirRobin

It would seem Sony have not included the z compact in the privilege offer so people are not getting the free trials or movies.

Yes, you are right. IN the Privilege App there is currently nothing. But the videos are in my video unlimited account, on my tablet z they are ready for viewing and downloading.
But the Z1 Compact doesn´t show anything...

I have found Video Unlimited to be a bit weird/ flaky.
I own 6 videos on Video Unlimited (all from the promotion from buying my Z1 in december).
If I log onto the video unlimted website I can see that I own Elysium and Superbad. If I go through Media Go then I see Total Recall, Django Unchained, The Amazing Spiderman, Easy A and Superbad (Elysium appears to be missing).
On my Z1 I see Django Unchained, Elysium, Superbad and the Amzing Spiderman (missing Easy A and Total recall).
On my Tablet Z I see Superbad only.
I find it weird that Sony can not get them all to show on all devices.

It´s a very sad issue i think - why can sony fix this issue?
The video library from the z1 promo code is not accessible on the new z1 compact, why?

It is available for the z1 compact! You have to go to the xperia privilege app in the google play store and update it manually there. Once you've done that, go to the xperia privilege app and get your offers. Both of the video unlimited ones (elysium and the 5 films) and the music unlimited (2 free months) offers worked for me and I have them all activated as I write therefore I can confirm that the offers work on the z1 compact. I have only tried downloading one of the films (total recall) and it worked fine so I can't imagine the others not working.

Ok, so i have to say it must be a problem in germany. the only thing i see in the privilege app is a discount on sony ebook readers!

Is flash installed
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
I had been using crackle and a few other tv/movie Apps for the longest time on my original droid. Then one day the all quit working. I tried flashing different roms and even going back to stock to try to get it to work. I figured vzw or google blocked the use of these Apps until I seen this post the other day. Crackle nor any of the other Apps I used to work on my DINC2 either. Yes I have the latest flash installed. No shows or movies come up at all. My HBO Go works just fine though

Ill second that. Latest Flash installed, running Virtuous Unity Rom. Just grinds like it is loading the video. Im on WiFi.

That's odd, Crackle on Virtuous Unity is working for me. However, I flashed over to CM nightly 56 running Tiamat 1.1.2 and I get audio, but no video.
Running SkyRaider Zeus and Crackle seems to be working fine...
After some "monkeying" around I got it to work. I have restored my latest MIUI back up and it was not working on that either.
So, I cleared Dalvik cache, nothing. cleared app data, nothing again. I then moved the app from SD storage back to phone and Voila! It is working. I am going to try to see what happens moving it back to SD later. Maybe I got lucky. Anyone care to chime in that has had difficulties?
Edit: Back to not working. Audio, no video..

Flash Player doesn't always play nice with AOSP ROMS. I was running CM7, and had sound but no video. I loaded a Sense ROM, and it works fine.
If you're having flash issues with aosp roms use this fix. Not sure if it will fix issues with crackle but it has fixed all flash issues for me on cm7

Here's the fix posted in the link just to make it easier:

There's a fix for any app using Flash, you have to use an app that can change permissions like ROOT explorer. Open up root explorer go to data/data/ "whatever browser you are using" then there will be a file that says app_plugins, after that it'll say com.adobe.flashplayer, then open .macromedia, flash player, and you'll want to hold click the config.data file and uncheck all permissions. And then BLAMO flash works again. I run a JTV player that uses embedded flash videos, and I had to do the same with that program.

I swear theres an app download of it on xda tho
If you update OTA root should stay. If you flash new version yourself though it goes away. But there's an easy one-click-root anyway available. I rooted 2.3.4 yesterday using it. Took like 20 seconds.
Changes I've noticed in 2.3.4:

Remoteplay on PSVita - possible on Play?

Yesterday I dedicated my evening to getting Final Fantasy 12 to play on my Android. Success came in the form of:
XDarkMario's ICS Rom
Kainy remote viewing app
Joystick Center 6 (and touchpad addon)
Kainy on PC
PCSX2
I'm happy to post more information about this setup, which I had working very pleasingly, but this morning various tech sites are reporting that a user called Digitalarts001 has a remote client up and running (which was demoed playing Skyrim) using software he/she built on the Playstation Mobile SDK.
So, my question is, what steps are needed to port that across to the Xperia Play?
could you host a video of this stuff running? O_O i have kainy but it runs quite slowly. I tried it with oblivion and skyrim.

Yep, as soon as I find my 2nd Android I'll film it. I had it running over my local network, not tried it beyond that. The frame rate was acceptable, lag comparable to Onlive but the image slightly washed out. Still, FF12 in bed!
Here is a short clip demonstrating FF12 streaming to the Xperia Play

Has anyone used the Beam (NFC) feature????

when the Xperia Ion first came out earlier this year.... i knew that this was the phone i wanted,..... it had all the features i wanted and more, like the NFC but for some reason we cant use it with Google Wallet,.... ok maybe theres a trick to get to to work with our phone.... (let me know if you do know)
how about using the Beam (NFC) to transfer content like pictures, videos, apps, contacts and whatever else to another NFC device just like the Samsung Galaxy S3 commercial.....
ok,... i have tried Beaming pictures with Xperia Ion and Galaxy S3 (AT&T version and Verizon version) with the phones back to back,.... front to front,.... side to side,... whatever position capable..... I've tried it with Xperia Ion being the host and vice versa..... and sometimes theres a notification sound, picture zooms out and a "Touch to Beam" pops up the screen.... so i touch the picture i want to Beam,... picture goes back to full screen but nothing seems to be transferring.... I've tried with the stock Gallery app and another one (quickpic)...
when trying with the Quickpic app,.....it Beamed the other device to the "Quickpic" Play Store (asking it to install the app).... i e-mailed the developer of the Quickpic app,... and he said "sorry, not tested, no device to test..." so ok,.... i kept trying with the stock Gallery app but no successful transfer....
is the Xperia Ion capable of using the Beam (NFC) technology just like the Galaxy S3?????
has anyone successfully transferred Pictures, Video or any files via Beam????
what am i doing wrong????
i haven't had a change to test this with anyone yet. but my buddy has an s3 i'll try it out and get back to you. however, my NFC tags work great and i haven't had a problem with them once.
I beamed to an S3 this past weekend. You have to remember that the regular "beam" feature uses NFC only, without invoking Bluetooth, which means things like pictures and videos are out of the question. Regular Beam features will work with contacts, links and things which can just be a line of text. I selected a contact, held my phone to my friends phone, the contact zoomed out and the screen said "tap to beam". You tap the contact and everyone is happy.
thanks for clarifying that,..... i hope in the future they find a way to utilize it like the Samsung S3 Beam on our device,....

Samsung has done something with their firmware that makes it so you can't beam a picture from/to a non-samsung phone. I've tested this with my friends GS3 and my Xperia devices. Stupid samsung.

Sorry for the late response but that worked fine. I can beam from all my of Xperia devices to each other without issues.
I beamed a few things to and from my son's HTC One X. I was able to do small files but not photos (may be a file size limit?).
It took about 10 minutes to get it to work though. We just about gave up when he turned his phone upside down and magically it worked. Not sure if it should need to work that way but that's the only way we were able to make it work.
So I guess the only problem I cant send or receive any pictures from any Samsung device... Dam! Most my friend use S3 and note 2... And why is Google wallet still not working for Xperia s??

Confirmed this also, Ion to SGS3. Apps transfer, no pictures, no files from file explorer, no music. Somethings would activate Bluetooth but on other device just play store opening saying not found. I did get one picture from SGS3 to ion.
