[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][4.4.3][D2TMO/D2LTE] Omni Rom for all D2s [Multi-window][OpenDelta] - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

This is an unofficial build of Omni Rom based on KitKit 4.4.2. There is no official support for the d2 variants. Props to androidsftw for picking apart what was needed for our d2s.
I am not the dev of this rom, all I did was add in necessary device/vendor/d2 files for d2. This is not a port, everything has been built from source.
As with all things root, I am not responsible for anything that happens while flashing this rom. You take responsibility for your actions. Nandroid is your friend.

Downloads:
Omni Rom for the D2LTE - Droidhype Roms
GAPPS 4.4.2 - PA 0-Day
SuperSU - Chainfire
Kernel (optional) - BMS
----------------------------------
Installing for the first time? Grab the newest full zip from the D2LTE directory. For future updates, just go to Settings -> System Updates and let the magic happen.
HOW TO INSTALL
1. Factory Data reset
2. Wipe System/Data/Dalvik/Cache
3. Install ROM zip from Sdcard
4. Install GAPPS zip from Sdcard
5. Install SuperSU from Sdcard
6. Reboot to home screen to confirm good flash
7. (Optional) Reboot to recovery and flash kernel
TO USE DELTAS, YOU HAVE TO USE TWRP OR PHILZ RECOVERY. CWM WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE IT DISABLES SCRIPTING CAPABILITIES BY DEFAULT. If there's anything that you want the updater to flash automatically after it flashes your update, put the file(s) in the FlashAfterUpdate directory inside your Opendelta folder in your internal storage.
Join the BMS G+ community which will have quicker release info in the future for all things BMS and roms.
Enjoy!

This build is unofficial, so I don't exactly carry around a changelog. However, you can always check cmxlog for omni and see what's been changed with each version of one of their nightlies. It won't be exact as some have specific device merges, but it will give you a good idea. The dates on my builds will correspond with the officials listed on cmxlog.
You can also check their gerrit or git to see what's been merged.
This question gets posted pretty frequently so if some users could please bookmark this post, we can just repost it when needed. Here are all the links you can peruse for your changelog/update enjoyment.

So what I'm getting is that a d2lte build will work on all d2 variants, no updater-script editing required?

Screenies??

As GideonX has said, these builds support all the d2 variants. Everything is automatically done during flashing. You don't need to do anything but flash like normal

downloaded and working
Except for su recconising apps. have tried manual install also just can't seem to make it work. appreciate this rom otherwise. will keep trying. thanks:good:

Is anyone having problems with swipe typing?

4.4 needs special twrp jyst in case you restored back on to tw or never updated.
Anyways seems like the rom had little to offer in my personal opinion. I decided to just go an restore previous rom instead

Try PA's gapps. If you're talking about how no letters actually get inputted on the screen even though it is showing the swipe, then that's what you need.

- Had some opendelta issues. Please flash this entire zip this time around, thanks.

where are the screen shots for this rom?

Thank you for this rom and one quick question, can't Sync facebook contacts info anymore on the last build?

Can someone on tmobile verify uploading pictures and video works with this rom in instagram? it may be a kitkat issue with instagram but previously I have gotten a lot of freezes, FC, and reboots while trying to upload video. anybody willing to test this on the latest release?

Dude sorry but are u spamming the threads with the same question?

Anyone have OpenDelta mess up their phone? Every time I booted into recovery it would install the update. Then lost root and my gapps. It was hell trying to get it all back.

It might be due to the Google Experience Launcher. My experience of installing PA ( which replaces Stock Launcher ) stuck at black screen with Notification bar working. It seems GEL has a problem with our device though am not sure if thats the same problem you are facing.
Hence, i shifted towards Banks GAPPS or PA which does not replace Stock Launcher.
Thank you for bringing OmniRom to the NS4G!
Sorry if I'm bothering you with this. I get the same error prompts in your omnirom too. I did a clean install (using Philz Touch Advanced CWM). I think it's a setting that is specific to these 4.4 roms vs the 4.3 ones. When I run the 4.3 roms from Slim roms or Hellycat, I don't get these errors prompts.
ERROR PROMPTS: "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped."
ABOUT MY PHONE:
- no data plan.
- wifi-only device.
I PM'd you the logcat from this new omni build. I did an ADB logcat from bootup again. Please copy my logcats to your notepad or something. I will delete them off my dropbox by tomorrow, since I assume you do not need me to keep these files and links. I hope these logcats will help you with your builds. Thanks again for the time and effort you spend on these roms!

Hmm, interesting.. do you have at least Mobile Network. Nevertheless, if you are using it as wifi only,
Add the same in build.prop.
ro.carrier=wifi-only
And disable the following lines for good measure.
rild.libpath=/vendor/lib/libsec-ril.so
rild.libargs=-d /dev/ttyS0
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310120
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Sprint
ro.telephony.default_network=4
Send me the logcat after you try this.

Thank you! This works on this OmniRom build! No more error prompts!
Oddest thing about flashing this Rom though. I was able to successfully flash this OmniRom, after I first flashed your CM11 AOSP one (from this thread). I did a "clean to install a new rom" option in Philz Touch Recovery, of course. However, if I tried to install OmniRom after previously having Helly Rom, or even factory original (with root), I get stuck on the boot screen animation. I was able to recreate each of these scenarios at least twice. I'm probably making a newbie mistake somewhere. Thanks again for all your hard work with these Roms!

Same EXACT situation here. I tried the Philz Recovery, different gapps, tried going from Hellybean etc but I can't get Omni past the boot screen. I will keep trying though. I REALLY want to get this past boot screen
Edit ....my NS4G is still fully active too so I can test everything. If someone can please post a link for the gapps that worked for you that would be great...unless the ones in OP are what those of you that have it running used. I tried the P.A full stock 4.4.2 and ones in OP but this was around 20 min after this thread went up. Thanks!

I'm a real minimalist with the GApps. I only installed Banks' GApps 4.4.2 Core, and just install a few other Google apps (i.e., Gmail) via Playstore.
I also install from zip, at recovery, the SuperSU update v1.86 (see: SuperSU thread), because I find I get errors with the baked-in Superuser in some Roms.
Another problem I have while using this OmniRom, is that this launcher keeps losing some (3 or 4) of the apps I put on the desktop/homescreens. It's repeatedly the same apps. (EDIT: Fixed with flashing the Rom again, after a clean install.)

KitKat has the weird habit of automatically changing home screen pages on installation of new app instead of using the current one. If that's not it then can help you cause it never happened to me.
I was stuck on boot animation, after using Philz Touch (Advanced CWM Touch 6.0.4.5), and using "clean to install new Rom", sometimes combined with "clean cache, clean dalvik" for good measure. So, for experimentation purposes, I then used the CWM 6.0.4.3 Non-Touch, from Rom Manager app installation, then flashed this OmniRom again. After a long boot animation of the "Omni" symbol, the Rom successfully went to the homescreen.
EDIT: Unfortunately, same bootloops happen with NonTouch CWM 6.0.4.3. Again, the only time I got past boot animation is if I first flashed adityxavier's CM11 Unoffical 4.4.2 AOSP rom, then clean data/factory reset, clean cache, clean dalvik, then flashed OmniRom (wait for it, the boot animation takes a while).
To DEV:
- launcher losing my apps --> fixed with re-flashing of the Rom.
New issues:
(1) I have been getting distorted graphic rendering at times. It especially happens with some SuperSU prompts, and also some of the times I go to the Settings > Performance section. I'll try to logcat for you next time this happens, to catch these graphic rendering issues (assuming logcat will log these too).
(2) Issues with stock android email app, and Gmail app, not updating with any new email notifications, nor any new emails, using Banks' GApps (EDIT: Fixed with the 4th or 5th reinstall of the Rom.)

Press your "menu" hardkey, or longpress an empty space on the homescreen, there should be a "widgets" option from there, to add widgets to the homescreen.
EDIT: No Lockscreen widget option, that I know of, yet. Will post again if I find it.
I tried it on the lock screen and nothing came up

[ROM] BeanStalk Kitkat 4.4.4 Resurected-Unofficial

BeanStalk Kitkat 4-4-4 resurected and remixed. For those of us who prefer stable devices versus half baked lollipops...
Changes:
1. 7 second delay (blank screen) after Sony logo and before boot animation starts - fixed
2. Camera updated to latest (no lag, no focus problems)
3. Latest libs and firmware files
4. Slimlauncher (new open source launcher from Slimroms)
5. Slim keyboard, which is 12mb size, as opposed to bloated CM's 43mb
6. Paranoid bootanimation
7. TWRP recovery
8. Modified version of [CM] X-Honami Kernel with TWRP 2.8 (must be flashed separately, see download section)
Maybe more...
Rom and Kernel (to be flashed separately) are in Download section
Credits: Original Developer Scott; Giveme13s; Alnikki25k; Cyanogenmod; Slimroms; Paranoid; maybe others - let me know if I forgot you
Instructions:
1. If you are on CWM, go to Mounts, mount System/Cache/Data and format each
2. If you are on TWRP, go Wipe/Advanced, wipe System/Cache/Data/Dalvik
3. Flash the rom (you can boot and start using it with included stock-custom kernel), but I recommend X-Honami Kernel by Alnikki25K, modified by me to include TWRP 2.8; for this
4. Flash the attached Zip file (see Download section)

I am running this rom and have no problems with Titanium. You shouldn't have problems if you were running CM based rom before, but some stock apps won't work. Also, you have to tinker with Titanium restore options. Also, if you are trying to restore system app, you might have a problem (in this case, manually transfer it to /system/apps. I don't think Kitkat allows you to install apps on SD card (unless you manually transfer them from internal storage)....

Yes
I tried this rom just after it came out.
I was pretty impressed by the camera experience.
But I think that BeanStalk is a little bit "dirty".
@optimumpro
Could you make a PA Bulid with all of your device specific changes.
I also think that an stable kitkat is better than some hacky lollipop without camera.
Thanks in advance

I really can't touch PA or Liquid, because original threads are active. Beanstalk thread is closed. They need to be closed, since there is no further development. I have also fixed Dirty Unicorn problems, but it can't be built from sources and the current author is not responding to my PMs...

Really?
Correct me if im wrong but I thought, that opensource means that everyone can copy the source, modify it and bulid it.
Of course with credits given to the author.
Take CM Unoffical bulids as an example. There are soo many of them.

You are right, but neither liquid nor dirty unicorn builds from source (multiple errors indicating missing resources) and errors in script. Sometimes, developers change a few things in sources to make it impossible to build for others. This is a way to go around GPL 3. I am not saying liquid and dirty unicorn do it, but somehow they can build, but others can't. In addition, XDA has a rule: only one rom of the same version per device forum
Any mirrors?
Looks nice, and will look forward to try it, but the download time is estimated to 3-5 hours, and I have already got download-error twise. Thanks

But I think it depends on your location. Im from germany and after I connected to my favorite free vpn it worked flawlessly with 1,2mbps.

I have had one person test it. He said all functions of the phone seem to be working except maybe the carrier name was wrong, it said Sprint instead of his carrier where he lives.

I can't get either of you guys' liquid builds to boot. It keeps looping at the "LIQUIDSMOOTH" With the symbol below the words. It gets past the water pouring, but keeps looping at the second part. I just let it sit for 10 minutes and nothing changed. I didn't flash anything extra, rom only. They both do the same thing. I don't mean to cross threads here since Kevin built one as well. But I figured I would mention it here since you both posted.
Any suggestions either of you?

Is this on a clean install? As In TWRP wipe data, dalvik cache, cache and system. DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE. Then flash the rom.
I have had one person already test it out and his is using it currently on LS970, boots just fine. You could also try wiping cache and dalvik cache if it loops.
Considering its on both roms Its probably not rom related.
What device do you have exactly?

I apologize for not being more specific.
1) yes it was an install on a clean partition. I use multiRom and installed it as a secondary rom, which is basically like installing the rom on a virtually clean partition. I have been doing this for awhile and only ran into a few issue. One being stock based roms as secondary. The other issues I have had are ROM or recovery based.
2) I am using an LS970 LG Optimus G from Sprint.
3) the roms I tried and am mentioning here are both LiquidSmooth so it very possibly could be rom (sources) based. I have no issues with Kevins device sources, the same with gproj sources, which I believe you used for the LS970.
I will try to install it again and wipe data, and caches before booting. That may help.

Hi there!
I was the one that actually tested the previous build for clementino and I am using it as a daily driver. I used the previous build and am downloading this new build as I type this reply. From what I had read around, using the lollipop build as a secondary doesn't always work.
first boot of LS 4.0 after clean install could take up to 10 - 15 minutes so I would suggest to wait that long as well. I use the Sprint LG Optimus G LS970 as well but I bought it in Indonesia as an unlocked phone and it already has another service provider on it with working data plan. This causes some problems for me at times when changing ROMs because it would sometimes cause me to lose data. Never the less the build is solid.
I assume this new build eliminates the CM theme engine and added RRO. Overall, I'm just excited about this new build.

I have CM12 for LS970 installed as secondary. With the updated TWRP there are no issues on installing Lollipop as primary or secondary. I am not trying to bash. I am trying to install Liquid smooth. I had Kevins Liquid Trex and it was awesome, but now there are newer versions and updates and fixes. Every other LP rom has installed fine. The only other thing I will try is to install as primary. If it works, I can backup, then restore it as secondary.
Also, what do you mean updated? Have you not tried the 01-18 build that is linked in the OP?

I'm sorry dopy25, I thought that clementinox has uploaded another build since he already uploaded the new builds he had for geeb. I didn't realize it until the download was completed. The 01-18 build is the one I'm running. But I think he's prepared another build. The only issue I encountered with this build, aside from the mentioned wrong carrier name is that in the lock screen it would show (no sim - Sprint) at the top left corner. Although text and calls work, my data doesn't and I assume it has something to do with my phone not on Sprint (APNs etc).
@dopy25
You need do update multirom TWRP once again, there was fixes for some ROMs which us block based zips, my liquid is working as secondary now and his should also.

You are absolutely right. After the update I grabbed from your server, I was able to install both Liquid roms as secondary. However, neither have the developer options available. Is there a different way to activate them in Liquid?
Also, @clementinox I have pretty much everything working in your ROM, but it caused my boot loader to freeze at the google loading screen. That was on reboot. It just sat there. So I had to go in recovery and wipe stuff again. So, to everyone else wanting to try this with gproj sources. It does indeed work.
Finally another Lollipop ROM!
Downloading now, if something goes wrong I'll report, thanks! :good:
Download link sends me to 01/18 is that the last build?

As Expected, downloaded and will try out your newest build.
Have you found the cause of the No Sim Card sign on the lockscreen or is it still there? Hopefully with this new update I can set the APN to my carrier's and get working data again! Thanks clementinox! :fingers-crossed:
I love the extra features against other ROMs (like cyanogem) but... I really miss themes, which was a "hell no!" when I found that it is not present in the ROM... And editable QS... So I'll in the meantime...
I Hope to see a build with all that in the future :good:

Thank you for providing this. Huge speed increase when copying files. Forced encryption the Nexus 9 is so slow, especially when comparing it to my encrypted Nexus 6 and 5.
I know, the forced encryption thing is stupid
Remember to flash the latest boot.img I have with each update, I'll make it a flashable zip later and do the latest nightly

This is great, ill link it in my OP
The flashable part isn't hard if you want i can help you with it( i had to do it a few times for when we were trying to get the kernel to build)
Also i don't think it will be necessary to rebuild this everyday as nothing in the flounder kernel should really ever change.
EDIT: my bad, looks like you already have the flashables built
And linked to your thread, you rock

Thanks!
If anyone can test the flashable zip that'd be great as I'm letting my n9 charge to 100% after I got a bootloop (not from this don't worry ) and I thought I turned it off... but I obviously didn't so it completely ran out of battery
So much so that its hidden LED lit up! (I didn't think it even had one)
But yeah, if someone could test it that'd be great! :angel:
EDIT: Doesn't matter

I'm having some problems making the zip work :/ I've tried the cm12 update binary and signed using a testsign program but it comes up with errors
EDIT: Fixed
I have the official CM now.. with encrypted on is still good.
How do we know if the system was encrypted in off with this? and what are the benefits? other than some say it is a bit faster.
@sp99
you dont have to make a zip for every build.
you can look here to see if changes happen :highfive:

I flashed the latest CM12 nightly (from today) and flashed this kernel (9-2), and did an data/factory reset, but it still says Encrypted under Settings -> Security.
I'm using the latest TWRP.
Any suggestion?

This build is as (un)stable as 12.0 builds. But you have to keep in mind, theoretically it can consist issues, that weren't already found and they could be critical

This first build was just taken from CM sources. Now I am trying to fix important functions (like mobile data and WiFi crashes). After I'll succeed in dealing with any problem of ROM and post new build, I'll also add git source to the thread

Thanks for the hard work, it already seems more responsive than CM12. I've noticed that swipe typing now works, but swipe to wake no longer seems to work. Or I just aren't looking hard enough.
