[KERNEL][DEV][ALPHA] AlterNdromadus 3.0.x KitKat CM11 | AOSB | CyanKat[22/03/14] - G2 and Desire Z Android Development

I'm back again.
It's the Andromadus htc7x30-3.0 (andromadus_4.4 branch) source compiled by me with tweaks. At the moment I'll consider it alpha, updates will be sporadic and not necessarily better than whatever came before it.

Hi, just a quick report from V17 I had yesterday :
Not good at all for me :
- always a little latency before acting. Really noticealble on wake up.
- Same wifi bug as in stock one (scratch after airplane mode)
- long black screen during synchros this morning
- multiple android.process.media alerts. I had to reboot twice.
- with all that I can't say if it save battery as all the reboot consumes a lot...
I went back on stock ROM which is really more responsive for me.
Will try V18 but tonight. I need my phone at work today!
Are logcats required or unusefull for you?

A lot of those problems will be because I mucked about with memory allocation, but that should be fixed on Alpha 18. Logcats are more useful than nothing, last kmsg is good too, both is perfect. I expect the WiFi thing will be a ROM problem, and as to the latency I'm not sure. I tried to implement a GPU on input thing, maybe it doesn't work too well. You don't have ART enabled do you? Regarding the media crashes, are these random or happen at a particular moment, e.g. playing music, games, videos?
Thanks alot
PS as these are alpha I wouldn't suggest anyone else using these during work

evrything seems to be a okay this way. the wifi from airplane mode is from the rom, noticed it before installing ur kernal. no lag here. battery seems to be holding up well. idk if its the kernal or because i have radio turned off but together they seem to be doing great. THANK YOU. only time i got lag was when i went from dyninteractive to powersave, but since evrything is going well just went back to dyn

Awww great to see you again my friend
Will test it tonight. Only for flinny's alpha3 or also AOSB 1.2.9 / 1.3.0?
Cheers

Yeah this is only for KitKat ROMs, so the ones you mentioned; it won't boot on Jelly Bean.
To everyone: if I were to compile a ROM, what would you think of a revival of cn.fyodor's AOSP 4.2.2 with added features? Or any other suggestions?

NO ART for me
Just Seeder
media crashs are random. Sometime related to nothing but it seems to happen when working and screen goes off
I had to wipe things and reboot twice to fix it
Will report if it comes back
V18 far betteer. But I still notice this latency with black screen which is longer during synchro

personally I would like to see if we can get a newer kernel working, like a 3.4 release.

Are you reading my mind ? I've already been thinking about porting 3.4 (with help) for a while. It would be hard though, so in the meantime any ROM suggestions?
@Kéno40 I'm not sure what this latency problem is, I'll compile a version without the GPU input handler implemented when I have time and see if that makes a difference. Other than that I really can't figure out why you're having a problem, it's fine for me at least. What do you mean by synchro?

I would be interested. I have compiled the lastest flinny merged with the lastest cyanogen frameworks. It boots but the camera doesn't work. So I have been looking further, but still playing around. I need to increase my virtual linux box diskspace, so I am working on reconfiguring it b/c of lack of diskspace.

I would love to see AOSP KK rom for our device. Just plain and simple.....(thats just my opinion, dont know about others)
Thanks...

And how about BT call audio? Is it working correctly with your Kernel? It is the only think I am missing wiht all the KitKat ROMs and it is definetely Kernel drivers fault... to be honest... the only roms that had it working since GB were those of 4.2.2...
And for me it would make a big help for my phone usage, cause I spend lot of the time in the car...

In fact I don't use the lockscreen so when I tackpad wkae it, I arrive to the homescreen. But- I notice with it a little latency / black screen for less than half a second, but noticeable.
I cut Synchro during night because of the wifi problem. On the morning I put it back. It goes to slleep (the phone, not me ! ). If I wake up, I have a 1-2 seconds black screen.

I'm gonna try Paranoid Android, CM10.2 (Android 4.3) base unless anyone has objections to 4.3, it was stable and working as far as I remember. I don't know if 4.2.2 can be used for PA anymore.

I would love pure AOSP too but unfortunately I don't have the expertise to get it working, I'm gonna try something simpler.

[ROM][14-02-13][Flinny] Andromadus - AOSP4.2.2[9]

Andromadus - Test Builds
To start with here you will find test versions of ROMs built by me from the Andromadus github repo http://github.com/Andromadus, think of them along the same concept as nightly builds just not every night These are development ROM's, if you want to run bleeding edge development ROM's and at least know how to use adb and logcat then you might find something of interest here. If you require something that works 100% of the time all of the time then this might not be for you. That said you can always give it a try and if it doesn't work restore your previous nandroid backup!
What IS Andromadus?
Initially it was a group of people who got together to make ICS work on the HTC Desire Z because nobody else seemed to want to support devices with physical hardware keyboards/trackpads. Whilst the idea stays the same It has grown slightly to support some other hardware and some of the work we have done is now used in many other devices. Andromadus builds of CM10 or CM10.1 are basically CM sources with a few additional tweaks or additions to support our phones.
1. New versions will be added as and when I feel there are enough changes to warrant one, don’t ask when the next version is coming.
2. If we decide to release a "Stable" version of these roms they will be published in another Andromadus thread.
Direct all your queries with release versions to that thread and in the same vain do not discuss these releases anywhere but here.
3. I will do as best I can to answer questions but if you don't get an answer from me I'm sure somebody else will be along to help. Help each other and I have more time to spend fixing things!
4. Don't ask for what's changed since the previous version, have a look at the recent submits on the Andromadus github if you want to know or wait for the mini changelogs when I post a new release.
5. If there is something in particular to test it'll be mentioned!
6. As always if you didn't wipe between installations then at least verify that the problem exists on a clean install before posting here. Nandroid/superwipe/install/check at the end of the day you can always restore your nandroid if the problem is reproducible on a clean installation. If you can't be bothered to try this then I really can't be bothered to try to help you :>
7. All that said ensure you make a nandroid/backup before hand. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone with these ROM.
8. Whilst I can't stop you I would rather these builds were not used as a base for any ROM/MOD/ETC. The source is all available if you want to do your own builds with which you can do whatever you like.
9. Tell us what works/what's worse/what's better but don't ***** when something breaks or isn't fixed yet, report it and move on.
10. Sometimes people forget that we do this for fun, for ourselves, and sometimes your super important issue is way down on our personal list of things to be fixed.
If you ignore any of the above you will in turn be ignored.
Now that's all out of the way as always have fun
As usual you need to flash the ROM then GAPPS.
Checkout http://andromadus.flinny.org for links/files/changelog's
This a team/community effort, I'll not list everyone who has helped along the way here that list is in the beta thread but I will say thanks to all of them again and obviously anyone that has been missed.

Hi Flinny, great job on the AOSP builds they are running perfect. I only had one satback sins build 4. Suddenly my gallery stopt working and dropbox to. Because of the gallery problem my camera won't boot either. I flashed build 5 but I had the same problem. Build 4 was flashed with a full wipe and build 5 was flashed as update that the reason of course why the problem didn't left but sometimes it helps Does this sound familiar? Greetz Munky
I tested it last evening but have many FC message about "aosp keyboard" even with the physical keyboard
I wiped all but still the same message going back to cm10.1
Ok I'm a little rusty on the details at the moment but: AOSP means that you want it to get as close as stock experience as you can get right? (I'm really looking for a G-lite thing but then with ICS/Jelly Bean, sort of Nexus feel but then for our Desire Z)
What's everyone's opinion on these AOSP builds? To me they seem more stable and faster than CM. I kinda miss CM a little though, but not the lag.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
I know that this is a dumb question and the answer is probably within the other thread, but... Ah heck, now it's just that I'm too lazy to look for the solution LOL...
But I installed AOSP 4.2 v6 last night and so far I'm not experiencing any major problems (except for FCing when I edit a picture and a bit of confusion adjusting to some new features LOL)... But when is this project going to be merged with CM? There are LOTS of creature comforts (e.g. silence during night hours, T9-style contact search, etc.) that I'm used to with the CM-optimized version that I kinda miss and only noticed that it was gone when I flashed it (I was under the impression that those features were all standard?)
Sorry to pester and thanks in advance.

Could you add init.d support to the rom or fix it? I see that there is a placeholder for scripts and there is one script, but it's not executed on boot (with 755 permissions).

This is absolutely the smoothest 4.0+ ROM I have ever used. Might switch to CM10.1 though for more features.

Oh jeez... Either I had a total brain fart and completely missed the link or it got posted anywhere from the time I posted it to the catching up of 14+ hours of sleep (I only slept 7 hours across 3 days LOL), but I guess CM10.1 is already posted. I'll download it and see what's up. Thanks for not flaming me guys. I would've gotten the N4 but I'm not a big fan of LG (had countless bad hardware experiences) and my phone is somewhat last on my "to upgrade list", so thanks for everybody's help and keep up the good work! There's some top quality Münchner Bier mit your name on it once I get some disposable income

That is strange. Which recovery are you using? Don't use clockworkmod as they're always full of glitches and bugs. Don't use ROM Manager to flash ROMs either as they as well have glitches. I recommend doing everything in recovery. If you do have clockworkmod I recommend flashing 4ext as it has more features and can make your phone a little faster

Ok I just went ahead and installed it. This is exactly what I need for a ROM on my Desire Z! Thanks Flinny, and keep up the good work!
Now my experience with this ROM:
- I just fly trough my home screens and menu's, it runs fluently!
- When at stock speeds (so 1Ghz) I sometime run into problems booting up the settings. I just hangs there for 4+ seconds untill it actually shows the settings. Setting clockspeeds to 1,8Ghz fixes this most of the times, but it's something you might want to look into (Or don't, it's your ROM)
- The above also happens with some apps.
I don't run swap or any other optimization, so I don't know if it's my problem or a ROM problem, but if you want me to do some more testing just tell me what I need to do
Boot Loop
Thanks for the work, this is a great ROM, just thought I would pitch my issue I had.
Im currently testing an app and set the device to use 2g only as I wanted so see how quickly it pulled in my data on a slower connection. If you leave it in 2g mode and reboot it appears to get stuck in a boot loop.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers

I doubt that has anything to do with the "2g" setting since the radio doesn't come on until after it is booted up. Maybe that application you're testing screwed something up?

The app is fine, I have been building it for a few weeks and runds fine on a nexus one, and a sapphire. I have tried flashing the 4.2.1 AOSP build and the CM10 build and exactly the same is happening.
Guess I'm just missing something :s

Do you think you could get a log of the reboot? Might help in figuring out why it is rebooting like that.

[ROM][4.2.2][CyanogenMod 10.1 Unofficial][TF300T(G) with BL 4.2][2013-05-09]

This is an experimental build of CyanogenMod 10.1 for Asus TF300T and TF300TG with the new bootloader 4.2.
If you are an experienced CyanogenMod user, please give it a try and let me know anything I broke.
But please see "Known Issues" below.
Would also be interesting to hear about results on different boot loaders.
Note that this is an unofficial build.
I will provide updates, as things are being fixed, but I don't plan to provide regular nightlies.
Instead I hope that my changes will be merged by CM, once all is working as expected.
Supported Bootloaders
Installed by Asus ROM v10.6.1.15.3 (aka bootloader 4.2).
Should also work with v10.6.1.8 (aka bootloader 4.2).
The current download does not work on the old JB 4.1 bootloader installed with Asus ROM v10.4.2.20.
Testing or fixing this is currently not a priority; even might not work at all.
Extras
Some extras I included that are not part of the official CM distribution:
My kernel patch to make DriveDroid work. See the app thread for more details:
[APP][2.2+] DriveDroid - host ISO/IMG files to boot your PC from
Known Issues
Camera is crashing since 20130430 version. Sorry!
Audio and YouTube videos play about 9% too fast. MX Player works fine.
[WHEN CAMERA WAS WORKING...] Setting camera to burst 20 pictures will stop after 8-14 on average.
No radio on TF300TG.

Changes
Coming Soon:
Fix audio, when keyboard dock is connected; unfortunately this removes support for USB audio.
2013-05-09:
WLAN and audio working on TF300TG.
Small fix for camera, but not working yet.
Properly setting Bluetooth MAC address.
2013-05-06:
Bluetooth working fine for me.
WLAN should be stable for everyone now.
libsurfaceflinger is built from source again, the segfault is fixed.
The screen flickering is definitely gone; running really smooth now.
2013-04-30:
Updated all blobs and config files.
Included libsurfaceflinger from Asus to avoid segfault.
Include patch for DriveDroid.
2013-04-28:
Merged Asus kernel v10.6.1.15.3.
ROW scheduler is back and is default.
GPS updated and tested.
Bluetooth working, but can't re-enable once turned off.
2013-04-27:
New kernel based on Asus v10.6.1.8.4.
Some blobs and configs updated.
These are only the changes made by myself and jsfrk specifically for this build.
The latest changes from CyanogenMod are also included, but not explicitly listed.
Instructions
This experimental ROM is targeted at experienced users that can help test and make it work.
If you are new to CyanogenMod and you need instructions on how to use the download, it is not for you yet. Sorry!
Building from Source
Basically you can follow the guide for building CyanogenMod with one exception.
Initialize your CyanogenMod source repository with:
Code:
repo init -u git://github.com/f69m/android -b cm-10.1-tf300t
You can also run this command in an existing repository.
Credits
The whole amazing CyanogenMod team.
jsfrk for testing and fixing issues on TF300TG.
Asus for breaking bootloader compatibility again.
First download is available!
Of course in my "final" build, I had borked WLAN.
So did a "more final" build, which is now available for download.
Just confirming, it does NOT work with the 4.1 bootloader. The boot animation freezes.
Just another reason for me to update my tablet this weekend. I'll be flashing this for real some time today. Thanks.
Update available:
Merged Asus kernel v10.6.1.15.3.
ROW scheduler is back and is default.
GPS updated and tested.
Bluetooth working, but can't re-enable once turned off.

Yes, I noticed that too.
First step is to update the graphics drivers, I hope that will fix it.
Still getting a segfault with the new drivers though.
Thanks for your feedback!

I'll be following this thread closely, as I am just too lazy to downgrade my bootloader. Do you need any internal testers? I'm available.:good:
*Edit 1* Flashed without Gapps, it's buttery smooth with no issues (besides bluetooth.) Burst mode in camera works unless you set it to 20 shots, then it takes about 8-14 (average) before stopping. The calculator works. Wifi is a little spotty (randomly disabling and re enabling itself.) Random screen flashes,i'm not bothered by it.
*Edit 2* Flashed with Gapps, all of the above true. WiFi needs a lot of work, it unbearably slow on this ROM.

Have not seen any WLAN disconnects yet, but indeed, the whole WLAN and Bluetooth code needs redoing (same chip, same driver).
When trying to fix Bluetooth, I usually break WLAN completly, without making Bluetooth work properly.
Next update will be mostly blobs and config files. Doing that slowly to figure out, where that segfault is coming from.
After that will restart the WLAN/Bluetooth code from scratch. Well, from the Asus code that is.
Currently using the code from official CM BL4.1 kernel.
New download that has now all blobs and config files updated!
Seems the random screen flickering is gone, please let me know, if you still see it.
Well, being a bad boy, I included libsurfaceflinger from Asus, though this should really be the one compiled from the CM sources.
But for now it avoids a segfault and it seems OK, while we have worse issues with WLAN and Bluetooth.
Also included a little extra patch that has not been merged into the official CM kernel.
It makes DriveDroid work on our beloved TF300T. For more details see the app thread:

Is there a hope for TF300TG support? I've installed 28Apr build on my TG device with 4.2 BL, and it booted just fine, but WiFi wasn't working.

Sorry, I don't have access to a TF300TG, so can't test it.
Of course I am happy to clean up and push out my current sources, if there is a developer who wants to port it to the TG.
Otherwise I'd save the time for cleaning up now and push it out, once I am happy.

Glad to let you all know that we found a developer owning a TF300TG!
So I did a big cleanup and pushed things out to GitHub. Please see the first post for details.
Also the graphics lib I had replaced is back in; the segfault is fixed.
It is running incredibly smooth now!
But the camera is still broken. :crying:
I'll have another go at the camera issue, before releasing a new update.

I'll take whatever version is up now for a spin. I expect most to be the same, minus screen flickers. Am I right?

Yes, in the 20130430 version the screen flickering is gone and it is running very smooth.
But also the camera is broken, which worked in the previous versions.
The camera is giving me quite a headache...

Yeah, luckily I have a very strong head, so eventually the camera will have to yield.
Temporarily the camera has won though; I put it aside and first looked into WLAN and Bluetooth.
Good news is, here I am hearing music via Bluetooth from my Laptop speakers!
And even after switching off and on.
So I guess there will be an update later today with WLAN more stable and Bluetooth working.
We are also working on WLAN on the TF300TG and have that somewhat working, too!
Though might not be in today's release yet.

New update available!
Sorry, the camera is still broken... :crying:
BUT... Bluetooth is now working fine for me.
I don't own any real Bluetooth devices though. I tested using my laptop as a Bluetooth audio sink.
Was funny to hear the music and notification sounds come out of the laptop!
Also WLAN should now be stable for everybody.
I changed the kernel code over to the Asus code and more important fixed an issue with loading the WLAN firmware.
The latter might explain the different responses I got: from "not working at all", over "spotty, random disconnects" to "working fine".
Probably your mileage depended on the WLAN firmware installed by your previous ROM.
Well, please let me know, how it works for you now.
Thank you all for your feedback!

Hmm, 10 downloads and no one speaking up so far...
I take that as a good sign!
More good news: we got WLAN working on TF300TG too.
There are still issues with sound though.
Is there any developer with a TF300TL around? Would be great to cover the lot!
Currently updating my Ubuntu Touch port to the new code for BL 4.2.
Apart from getting some work done on UT, I hope that using Ubuntu, I might gain another view on the camera issue.
It's so frustrating: everything between the Android camera HAL and the kernel is a black box. No documentation and no source code.
Just some error messages in logcat and some in dmesg... but why?

WildKernel
for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II
Go check out Tame! It goes great with this and it handles OTA updates for this kernel.
This is a Linux based (3.0.101) Kernel which is maintained by me kept inline with the Cyangenmod Kernel so this is compatible with ALL the latest KitKat Roms (unless otherwise stated in the ROM).
Please report anything good and bad so that I know what to keep and what not to keep for the next release. This also helps me push out fixes faster when presented with lots of information (such as logs etc.).
Please see changelogs for an in-depth look at features. Also take a look at the screenshots for a sneak peek.

Just flashed it on Carbon 5/21. Initial thoughts are that it seems to get to the boot animation quicker than Uber. But initial reboot is long... I thought my phone was stuck in a bootloop... Also does not kill vibration after subsequent reboots after the initial reboot after flashing the kernel. It's just as quick as Uber and seems to work with Kernel Tweaker. This kernel also won't crash the phone playing 1080p in portrait... Love the fact that this kernel has sleep2wake as well. Will report back after using it for the day...
Any chance of a 2ghz version? And does this work with PAC outta the box?
Edit: Forgot to say thanks for giving us another kernel for the good ol' Herc. So, thanks.

I haven't tested this yet, but it is on my "to test" list. I'm going to download it on my lunch break and flash it sometime on the weekend. Had a quick question though: what is the recommended date of the ROM one should use with this Kernel? The ROM I'm running was last updated back in March so I am unsure if any new CM features were implemented or removed from the kernel since that time and I would rather not be stuck in a boot-loop or nothing. The kernel I'm currently sporting is "3.0.101-DIABLO-3.3". You say yours is based off of Diablo 3.1, so I THINK it should play nice with this ROM, but I'm nervous I'll soft-brick my phone.
Is there a reason you didn't use Diablo 3.3 as the base?
Also, your OP states there are screenshots, but none are included? I don't need them (kernels don't really need screenshots, eh?), but just thought I'd point it out.
Thanks for being one of the ones keeping the t989 alive.
EDIT: I'm dumb... just saw the screenshot tab at the top. 18 hours on battery is pretty good. I get about 10 with how I have things set right now, so getting an extra 8 would be awesome.

It'll work fine with older KitKat builds.. And I don't think you'll have compatibility problems with using it with a ROM that came with a newer version of Diablo. I was at one point using older builds of Cl3kener's kernels on newer builds...

I will always recommend the stock performance app as it's apart of the system so you know for a fact it won't be holding any child proccesses which may effect battery etc.

Yes it should work out of the box with ALL KITKAT roms. As for Jellybean and before I'm not 100% sure as they may and most likely use different ramdisks. Also I doubt you will see me push out a 2ghz version as I don't really like to OC, but when I do I like to stay in the OC 300-400mhz stage. Once getting above that you risk damaging your hardware overtime which can stunt it's life.

How many times did this issue occur to you? Did it happen right after kernel installation? Because it's sounding more like a rom related issue.
After about 12hrs into it, video recording added a nonstop buzzing sound in all video res. Reboot fixed the issue. See catlog. I am currently on AlpineRom.

Is Hyper supposed to stay a higher frequency on Core 0 when you are playing music or running an app and not doing anything else and with the screen on? I'm currently set at 1836/192 and the frequency settles more at 756 on Core 0. If I set minimum to 384 then it seems to settle more on 384. I couldn't find much info on how Hyper works so I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Something went very wrong....
About an hour after installing this kernel last night I picked my phone up off the table and noticed it was in a boot loop.
I went into recovery and wiped the cache and it eventually booted to the CM-11 Welcome screen asking me my language preference.
I rebooted back to recovery to restore from my backup and (long story short), I couldn't because the partition table on my external sd card has been destroyed. I don't know what would have done that I wasn't actually using the phone at the time.
Sorry I don't have logs, but if anyone knows how to recover an sd card with no partition table i'd love to hear about it. I tried gpart/gparted with no success. I assume the partition was some kind of FAT but I don't know for sure.

That happened to me a short while back using A different ROM and kernel. For me, my sd card died and I sent it back under warranty.
Sucks cause you lose all the data and no way to recover but if you can warranty it,I would.

Ya I suspect the card has failed based on how it is behaving in my computer. I will look into warranty but I'm not very good at keeping the paperwork for such things.

I'm not either, but if you know where you bought it from (online sources are usually the best as you will have an email receipt) AND you have an account with them, they MAY be nice and pull your receipt up for you. Sandisks warranty info though states that you need to have your original receipt AND the original packaging. When mine died they were happy enough with a photocopy of the receipt being emailed to them and they didn't need the original packaging.
It sucks when it does die because you lose your data and you don't know if it was due to the new stuff you were trying or simply a fluke. I've been meaning to try my new stuff again on my card (moving /data to external storage), but I'm nervous that that is what killed it. It gave me a nice performance boost (surprisingly), but I only got about 2 months before things died for me
Now I back up my SD cards roughly once every 2 months just in case one dies on me again. Well, unless I make no changes OR I only add stuff I can re-download easily.

[ROM] [5.1.1] ZMoD (09/09)

ZMoD is an AOSP-based Android 5.1 ROM focused to bring the most popular features to a clean, AOSP-based ROM.
A bit of history: when 5.1 released, I was impressed by the memory management fixes it brought us - it's a lot better than 5.0 was. Since I use my phone heavily, mostly for texting with multiple apps, it was clear that I couldn't go back to 5.0 anymore - however, there were no feature-filled 5.1 ROMs yet, so an idea popped into my mind: why not create one? This is how the first version of ZMoD born.
Features
- RRO theming support
- screenshots: quick delete action
- configurable wakeup on charger connect
- configurable volume button wake
- advanced reboot
- show application's package name in the "App info" screen
- statusbar clock and date customizations
- option to hide USB debugging icon
- clock and time clickable in statusbar
- battery icon customizations
- alarm clock: increasing volume option
- alarm clock: flip and shake actions
- materialized gallery, calendar, browser and sms (not fully done yet) app
- material default wallpaper
- swipe in AOSP keyboard
Todo
- battery and notification light customizations
Instructions
First time flashing ZMoD to your maguro (or coming from another ROM)?
Unlock & install a recovery
Wipe data & cache partitions
Flash ZMoD.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Updating from a previous build?
Just install the latest ROM zip. If you had Google Apps installed, you need to re-flash it as well.

Bugs?
Bugs
- offmode charging broken
- green bars on the edge of the recorded videos
Thanks alot Ziyan for keeping this phone alive and running. :good:
Just to clarify... Ziyan are those the only bugs you have come across? Are there any other bugs that we should be aware of such as graphical glitches or wifi/data issues bluetooth perhaps? Would this be considered a daily driver? Sorry about all the questions, but I really want to jump to a 5.0 rom 4.4.4 just isn't cutting it anymore. I have all kinds of ram issues all the times, forcing me to reboot my phone on a daily basis. I think this would be the perfect opportunity for me to transition to a lolipop rom, but I would like to know if this rom is stable enough for daily use.

done flashing. so far so good here. bugs presented above is present. but im gonna try use this rom for more days, (as same as othe LP 5.1) but as i remember from my past flsh from other roms., the more you installed apps the more it getting slow and bugs. well so far here i just installed those social media apps and its running good to me, but i couldn't say its that stable but lets just help @Ziyan and give some reports. well im not that fun on CM roms but ill give this a shot coz its the only rom who is willing to support our legacy phone and make it alive again.
This is awesome! Thanks a lot @Ziyan. I've been using your CM11 builds for a long time. But who needs CM when we have you? CM11 is way too laggy for a while - which is by no means your fault! - and all the stories about 5.1 will definitely make me part of your test group. So I'll stop writing now and start downloading.

I'm just waiting for the camera bug to be fixed which causes the camera to stop working and requires a reboot to fix it. If that's fixed, I'll be really happy to come back to LP.
i tried front cam video recording ...... sad to say i have to reboot my phone for me to use it again.. hmm.. the main bug of Gnex LP's are the camera if this will be fixed then for sure it could be stable to us Gnex users. is ther a chanve that someone can make a mod for camera and flash it to be more compatible? i mean what if the cam is not LP based. is it that possible? ( sorry for the question im not a developer)
This has been undoubtedly the best ROM I've ever flashed onto my phone. Camera bug or not, the smoothness with which it runs is almost making me doubt this is even the same phone. I am floored. Great job Ziyan and the OMAP team!
Anyone tried bsmitty karnel with this rom..?
#17
how to get root access ?
This ROM is very nice so far. It's still downloading and installing my apps which obviously takes more time since LP.
The ROM feels quite snappy, at least a bit more than recent CM11 builds. I am missing a few features such as privacy guard and quick switch between apps by pressing and holding the recent apps button. Swipe isn't working with the AOSP keyboard.
I haven't tried the camera yet. But so far so good. Really good.
I've been using this ROM for a couple of days. Really awesome ! Great work @Ziyan !
@Ziyan mwisbest fixed the offline charging, maybe you can pick the commits? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59405904&postcount=2882

Thanks man!
Will test it soon! Sorry for the Noob question but can you tell me if it can be used for building cm11. I am a noob in android development.
I'm using this at the moment on XenonHD. So far everything is working. And that smoothness....its off the charts! xD Btw Dev @Gnome, can you add Lionheart and Sio on the next release?
And LCD KCAL please.

Sent from my MI 3W using XDA Free mobile app
I just flashed this kernel on the XeonHD 4.25 build.
Hoping that they are good partners.
This is just a preview, I'll be adding some stuff from my previous kernels soon... just checkout my git for changelogs and also check the download page for new releases.

I used KCAL controls on StellAR and the difference was AMAZING! (alas StellAR doesn't gel with XenonHD for me)

UPDATE: @Gnome I flashed the kernel, everything seems to be working fine (WiFi, Sound mods etc).
But call bug v1 seems to be present (touchscreen active during call)...can't comment about call bug v2 (screen-off death) yet, but I hope it's not here, cuz I plan to use this kernel as my driver...

Yeah, call bug v1 is something most ppl who recently joined the Mi3 forums won't have faced.
It is one of the major bugs (aside from deep sleep reboot) that was there in the original Lollipop ROMs for cancro. It was fixed a long time ago (by audahadi and Bitti I believe, as Ivan's ROMs had the bug for a long time afterwards too).
The bug was that the touchscreen would remain active when you're in a call and the proximity sensor turns the screen off. It would cause the notification/quicksettings panel to be pulled down or brightness to be changed due to contact with ear or cheeks. Other more complex things could also happen like when I once turned on Airplane mode while talking and got disconnected
And call bug v2 is a new bug that seems to affect ROMs (except I believe Ivan's AOSP and SOKP which switched to Ivans kernel I think) since 5.1...
While calling (or sometimes VERY RARELY while doing something else) the phone kind of hangs, the screen goes dark and it goes into a screen of death mode. Nothing can be done, your only option is to press and hold Power button for a very long time (approx 12-15 secs; much longer than a normal hard reset ~8secs) to hard reboot your phone.
Hope you got it. :good:
PS. Yes, try this kernel. You won't be disappointed.
Added some under the hood stuff on 3rd build, also check if fast charge works, since it works fine on my end.
