[GUIDE][CAMERA] How to add 4K & 120 FPS Video modes For LG Official KK ROMS - G2 Android Development

Well first of all I would like to say that, myself or any other person has no hands in implementing this 4K tech in the phone. LG uses 1 apk for many devices and uses same png's and arrays. Its really very easy to add 4K and 120 FPS to the KK ROMS. LG Has provided every library required for it. [Someone said they haven't but they have actually].
Now on the Portal Thanks to "Eagleeyetom". Click Here to view.
What is needed?
1) Ticklemyandroid.
2) Notepad++
3) Universal Deodexer.
4) 5 minutes.
5) Mouse pointer
6) Media_Profiles.cml [In Attachments]
7) LG G2 Kitkat Files.
How to start?
Step 1 :
Start TicklemyAndroid.bat. Enter themeing menu by pressing 2. Make sure you get hold of the framework files of the KK ROM. Install the framework-res.apk and Lge-res.apk from the framework folder by placing them in the "IN" folder. Then Press 3 and install both the files.
Step 2 :
Extract Universal Deodexer. [V3]
Place all the files from the framework folder with all the files of the Universal Deodexer Folder. Place you LgCameraApp.apk and LgCameraApp.odex in the apk folder. Click on the main.bat and it will merge the files. You will find the deodexed file in the deodexed folder.
Step 3 :
Place the deodexed app in the "IN" folder of the TicklemyAndroid folder. Start the TicklemyAndroid.bat again. Enter themeing menu by pressing 2. Now decompile the file LgCameraApp.apk. Navigate to the working folder and then open the LgCameraApp folder. Then Navigate to
LgCameraApp/res/values/Arrays. Open the file with Notepad++ application.
Step 4 :
Press "CTRL+F" and type search for the line " g2_video_size_entries".
Just make sure your arrays also look the same as these.
check line by line for reference.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 5 :
After these are done. Save the xml file. And go to the main menu of Tickle My Android and start the bat file. Enter theming menu by pressing 2. Then press 13 to recompile. When you press 13, it will ask you to select the file which you want to recompile. In this case there will be only 1 file, LgCameraApp.apk. Press 1 to select it. Then it will ask you what type of file it is. As we know it is a system File, press 2 and it will ask whether you want to recompile it. Press Y and then let it rebuild.
Step 6 :
When done, find the apk in the "OUT" folder. New 4K and 120 FPS camera is ready.
How to use?
Make a flashable zip using the zip in the attachemnts or place it in /system/priv-apps/ and set permissions to rw-r--r--.
What is the Media_profiles.xml for?
It sets the Bitrate of the Videos and Audio Bitrate also.
Where to place the Media_profiles.xml ?
Place it in /system/etc/
I have given a zip file which is empty, You can just place your apk and media profiles in the following two folders and flash it.

Another!!

Too bad I don't have a 4K TV or anything to view 4K resolution in. This is so fantastic, but I can't take advantage of it with my 2 year old 1080P plasma TV

Would this be possible on nexus 5 too?

Straight answer, NO. This is only for LG camera app brother.

Ah the original work! It's always appreciated my friend. Keep up the good work. Hoping to see a lot of development.

But.. how to flash it? We can't root KK and don't have any custom.recovery :/

You'll do something?
I thought phones' camera firmwares (the blobs) had an hardcoded limit to the resolutions/framerates (=> bitrate) they could pass to the actual camera software
That's why for example, if you own an xperia Z1 (which at least in theory has the hardware to record 4k or 120fps), you can't overcome the official 1080p, 60 (or 30? i don't remember) caps

waiting for some Nexus 5 sugar

how about nexus 4? isit the same as nexus 5? please tell me no. anybody?

The 2 nexus phones are different in a lot of hardware. Google a comparison. It is the snapdragon 800 processor that makes a lot of this possible, but also the commonality between the G2 and G pro 2. The Sensor on the Nexus 5 might limit some of it's capabilities.

TSM-LockscreenParts Port 3 Lockscreens for the Nexus S
Original thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030028
Please take a second to visit and thank teamsbrissen for their hard work on creating this app plus supporting me and maddoggin during the port. Thanks to maddoggin for getting me started and sharing the epic source. Thanks to dagr8 in irc for answering questions.

This is my progress so far porting the lockscreen parts mod to the Nexus S. Once you install this mod, you settings.apk will be modded as well. When you hit the soft menu, and choose settings, below the about phone option will now be a choice called Locksreen Parts. Then choose Lockscreen Settings. First thing first, there is a choice at the bottom called Custom App. This is very important. Choose an app for that before you do anything else. What this assigns is an app to open when you use the 4tab lockscreen the top tab on the right is labeled TSM. When you slide that tab if you do not have an app selected, you'll reboot. Once you set that then open the app and choose between the first 3 choices, AOSP, 4Tab, and Rotary. All three lockscreens have the music controls on them. They work with the native Google music app I'm not sure about many aftermarket ones because I don't use them.
If you choose a lockscreen that isn't available nothing bad will happen, it will simply revert to AOSP. I'm calling this an alpha because it's unpolished, and it's merely a stopping point on me getting more to work. I would post the source but I can't see hosting it. The source is smali and it's available by going to google, finding smali and baksmali, once you download both those jar files, place them in a folder. Place my android.policy.jar into that same folder. Now with java installed on your machine (win/linux) run the following command to decompile the file:
java -Xmx512m -jar baksmali.jar classes.dex -o classout/
to Recompile the classes.dex if you were to make an edit run this
java -Xmx512m -jar smali.jar classout/ -o classes.dex
Then you will be able to see all the files that I have edited. Eventually I'll get around to posting the output from a diff compare to make it easier on anyone wanting to get into this.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Rom Base Stock GJR22 Deodex
(Means if your on a built from source rom I can't promise anything)
Download zip file
Place on SD card
Flash Nexuslockscreen.zip in CWM
Erase dalvik-cache
Enjoy
WARNING: This will de-Theme your phone. It contains a modded framework-res.apk.

****NOTE: Nexus S owners (GSM) I don't know if this will work on you guys phone, its an edit to android.policy.jar and framework.jar. I'm not sure how they correspond between 2.3.4 on our phone and yours. Feel free to nandroid and become a Guinea pig for the sake of others

alls you have to do is take your roms android.policy.jar, framework.jar, and framework-res.apk and place all 3 in a copy of this update zip. If something goes a wrong, flash your stock files right over them to get back what you had. I'm not sure on this one if it will even boot but if you make a copy of the update zip and put it on your sd with the stock files, you (SHOULD) be safe!

Storm's Custom Boot Animations

Here are the current boot animations that I have made so far. If you have any requests for a bootani you would like made simply let me know and I will make it. I generally try to make my boot animations high quality however if I can't find a video or a gif that is HQ I might have to use something less then that.
Note if you have any requests please provide a link to the gif or to the video and I will get it made for you. I can do it in either landscape or portrait.
Simply follow the instructions on post 2 in order to put these on your phone. You MUST be rooted for these to work.

If you have any problems let me know and I will do my best to get it fixed for you.
As for right now the only place I can really upload these files to is DropBox if you know of a better place let me know and I will put them there.
Instructions
nandroid backup- never know what can happen, so backup first.
Use Root Explorer
When you open Root Explorer go to System then Bin.
Click on Mount R/W to allow you to perform edits.
Find the file named samsungani and rename samsungani to samsungani.bak (or delete)
Next find the file named bootanimation (note this is not the bootanimation.zip that comes later, this is a file already in the folder that is just named bootanimation) rename bootanimation to samsungani
Now go back to the System folder and go to the Media folder and make sure it is on Mount R/W
Find the file named bootsamsung.qmg and rename bootsamsung.qmg to bootsamsung.bak (or delete it)
Find the file named bootsamsungloop.qmg and rename bootsamsungloop.qmg to bootsamsungloop.bak (or delete)
Now you will put the bootanimation.zip you got from here and add bootanimation.zip to into the Media folder.
reboot
profit.
If you still have any questions let me know.

Yeah, it would be easier to just ask someone who is running CM10 for it though. Also there is a glare on the screen of the phone in that vid I wouldn't be able to get rid of that. Not to mention I would have to resize the pics to 720x1280 so the quality wouldn't be the greatest. I can still do it if you want though.

New Bootanimation For Optimus G Pro Up

Ok. so if you read this thread before you may know that I was supposed to upload
a Shutdown and boot animation.
The shutdown animation is below with the other .zips
but if not here it is the link to the dropbox download
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sl10c7cs90vv12a/shutdownanimation.zip
as where the boot animation which was the oversized one here is the link as well
https://www.dropbox.com/s/excbutu7sblkqgj/General Cyan.zip
and this third link is for some UI sounds like the keyboard.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhdl1ui4gyelfn2/UI_Sounds.zip
i mainly did it for the keyboard and then said wt heck! and recorded, with my latino voice, just some sounds
like there is a bootsound that asks to wait while the system powers on, sort of simulating a personal assistant.
ehh i just recorded it an applied a room effect, so its nothing fancy. i play with the sounds later on.
The keyboard i should say has somewhat of a psycho theme
pistol shots-(that sound more like a laser shot) for the Standarkeypress
gun load --- for space
gigitty laugh--- for Return
and a (NOooOo) yell for the Delete key, tried it. i like it.
now for the other Ui sounds remember its pretty much my voice and my English is not perfect but i think it is understandable. lol
i hope somebody likes them, and
remember to properly name the animations and change its permissions to 644 == rw-r-r
and if you do use the sounds note that they are .mp3s but have to be named to .ogg just the extension though, and permissions change as well.
I Think this animation set is better then the others i uploaded.
So I bit the bullet and installed. It's actually pretty nice. I like the animation on the G. Giant android isn't bad (maybe not my favorite but I'll live with it). Excellent work! Definitely nice to have something different than the normal AT&T boot animation. :good:

Ok as i had said i would try to put up a bootanimation for this phone.
It really started because i dont like the stock animation aso i wanted one for myself but then i said why not share it and make it a little more general.
Note that i am not a graphical designer and my skill with photoshop are not as vast as i would want.
but here it is.
Just make sure to check the permission of the file once you place it in you sytem/media/ make sure they are set to rw-r-r
and to change the name to bootanimation.zip. hope you like it

I screwed up my /system/media/ folder to the point of no boot animations. Could you post the stock contents of this folder so I have animations again?

[BOOTANIMATION][APP] N7 BIOS Boot - Updated for 4.4.4! (June 23rd)

Hey, guys! I originally hail from the Nexus 5 forum. However, I've received tremendous response to my Nexus 5 BIOS boot animation that I decided to go ahead and throw in support for the Nexus 7 2013! However, I don't have a Nexus 7 (old OR new) to test on, so I was hoping that's where you would come in. Also, I tried to get most of the parts right, however, I couldn't find some of them, so if you know what I missed, please let me know!
Testing seemed to go very well (here and elsewhere I asked for it), so I went ahead and published the official Nexus 7 2013 update! It will be available at the app store page linked below.
Download:
Here!
Or in the Play Store as "[Root] BIOS Boot for Nexus"!
Please, let me know if it works and if not, what broke. I would sincerely appreciate it!

Wow this looks amazing , I'm going to install It right now and let you know how it works!
looks nice...but why don`t u just make a flashable zip for this bootanimation? The path for bootanimation is /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Or simply just give us the zip conaining the bootanimation. We can copy/paste it to the right location and set the permissions.
Have a nice day!
Loving this so far , thanks for porting this over amazing job!

The main reason is that different devices boot up differently. Over in the Nexus 5 thread, I was getting lots of requests to speed up or slow down the animation, and it just got old maintaining that many different versions. I had the idea of letting the users pick their FPS, but that requires an app like this.
My secondary reasons are that A) I'd never done an app before and wanted an excuse to develop one, and B) I can include all the Nexus animations in one app and put it on the Play Store. It's actually already on there, and once I get the all clear from more N7 users, I'm going to update it and post the link here (keeping the free version up), just in case anyone wants to support me.
This app is awesome. I have set mine to display at 10fps, and if will finish literally 1 second before my phone is in a usable state

Awesome! Do you (or anyone else using this app) think you could provide some screenshots I could use for the app store page? I don't have a 7" tablet on me, and my Android Studio emulator has never really worked properly.
Thanks!
Also, updated OP with store link. Published the official Nexus 7 2013 update and it should be available soon!

Yes, but it's not the Nexus 7 stock. I totally forgot about that, I'll be releasing an update later today to address it.
Edit: Updated OP with bugfix APK.
I was skeptical about it not just being a zip but that app is nice. Thanks.

Wouldn't the structure of it be better having the main frames in the part0 folder, and then having just the looping frames with the "Initialisation finished. Starting apps" with a blinking cursor? I've attached a .zip file with what I mean and what I'm using. This way I don't have to try different fps settings to try and match my devices loading time, and it will just sit on the last part with a blinking cursor until the device starts instead.
The .zip I've attached, I've set it to 10fps in the desc.txt file, and I don't have to worry about it playing faster than my device boot as the thing that changes in the frames in the part1 folder is the blinking cursor.

nice modification, just noticed though that yours show a 16gb, hopefully OP can change the app to follow this structure.

Just try changing that all "HTC" text to "Nokia" and try changing your Model name to any Lumia device or Nokia X than the One X would be and good enough I think and let the fingerprint and display text be the same and changing the build.host too might help Just try everything which your mind can think.
changing build.prop works.
now patching it will be lot harder. we cant decompile the apk without modifying their dlls.(they use monodroid so the app itself it is in c#, so if we decompile and recompile normally, will lead to fc since the id of xml are changed)

Ps: if i were you, i would remove the petition to nvidia to support tegra 3. nexus 7 2012 comes with the tegra 3 and got official 4.4.2 from google...
Edit: also qualcomm has been around in mobile market for more than 10 years(nvidia is only what? 2 years), thats why they are dominating....
its coming! (need to do some more testing on multirom, and make a installer because of some external resources)

Actually the nexus 7 is a different version of the chipset than the one running one x and the one x +...
My next phone will never be a nvidia.. It will be a Qualcomm positive..
I'll test the music app right away...
