Ubuntu did say it should run on any phone with a 1ghz+ (stock speed) processor. So in theory it should but it's all up to the developers. we get the roms that they would want on their devices and that's exactly the way it should be.

Hey every body calm down first yes Ubuntu is and will be difficult i would like to see it but it is far past my knowledge and as far as i know it may not be possible for u who didn't read up on it yes 1± processor is a requirement but they also say dual and no device under our ram will be able to soppurt Ubuntu so if it is possible I'm sure it will come. So until then cut people some slack and as ur momma's should of told u if u don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all
Sent from my One V using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2
no, they said the ubuntu phone version that could also be used as a full desktop when mounted on the docking station which is connected to a tv/monitor. for only the phone os part you dont need dual core.

Broadcom drivers porting

I know someone talked about this before but I will talk more deep
We know that broadcom won't release the drivers soon so what about modifing our existing drivers or port drivers from other broadcom devices (e.g. raspberry pi)
This will be a good step for the cyanogen project
Sorry for my kinda bad english
Sent using my brain and hands
well,
if you really did read it before,
you should have noticed that SGY (according to broadcom by their representative david) has the only unique chip running in the market, different from nokia 808 and raspi,
so even with binaries for pi released we are still baffled on how to use them since it has a different chipset
also use the search function.,
we already have a thread for matters such as this

@op, having such spirit is good. but knowing reality is also importance. porting driver from binary, from different os, almost impossible.
instead of doing something that 99.9% will be fail, why don't you spend your time to do something that more productive, like learning to modifying rom or kernel source. or better, learn to write android application.

The VideoCore4 in the Galaxy Y is a very much cut down version of the standard VideoCore4, So it has a very low performance in comparison with the other full specification devices. It's done to reduce the size and hence reduce cost. That explains the low specificationss of the Samsung Galaxy Y in comparison to other full VideoCore4 based devices. Fcuk Samsung!!
Maybe if we can change the code and make one ready for Samsung Galaxy Y devices.
I am just telling what I know. I maybe wrong also. We will try this out first.
EDIT: Just now
Lets form a team and develop this!! PM me!!
Developers are welcome!!
This is the time we have to prove ourselves to the android world!!
Lets see who is brave enough!!
PM me immediately!!
