Hi,
I'm trying to setup amazon fire tv to play music without tv on. This is my current setup:
Tv -- hdmi --> fire tv -- optical audio --> soundbar
Problem I have is that there is no sound from tv. hdmi from tv to fire tv is connected through arc channel.
Does anyone has similar setup that works?

I tried to connect my One M8 with MHL to TV and run the media output search and not found the TV. I not have the stock rom. My dad have a Sony Xperia SP with stock rooted rom, the phone shows MHL connected and TV event, but the TV don't shows anything. What's the problem? The MHL adapter was new. We don't know what's the problem. We have a Sony Bravia TV.
Do someone know if it is possible to connect M2 to TV or monitor via some HDMI cable ?

I have the M2 801W. Before I bought it, I did some research and found that unfortunately it cannot be connected to an external monitor.
any way to get this to work on the shield tv ? When i try to open the app on my shield tv i get error message ->BHTV does not currently support video out from this device. Please disconnect HDMI to use BHTV.

Is it possible? if yes please suggest some...
Also, I am okay with using only the phone's motherboard as device for connecting tv.

You can amazon fire stick and believe it is quite good. You should have WiFi internet in your home. Otherwise chromecast, but amazon fire stick is superior. You can later install kodi
