The status bar only needs to be set as opaque when the notification
drawer is pulled down on 600dp and 720dp devices. On phones, this
is unnecessary as the top header of the drawer covers the status
bar on the phone UI. This change makes a huge difference in
reponsiveness on devices that run the phone UI as there is no
longer a delay before the drawer appears when interacting with it
on an activity with transclucent window decor.

Bug Reporting:
File your bug report here: https://sites.google.com/site/aospalrom/bug-report
Provide a logcat!! This is very important. If we are not able to reproduce the error, a logcat provides very useful information about the error source. How To Logcat
Is the bug reproducable? If yes, how?
Provide a detailed description of your problem! Just writing xyz doesn't work is sometimes not enough. What exactly doesn't work? Does it force close? Does it just not work as suspected?
Optional, but might help us to find the cause of the problem:
What customizations you have made (neither a custom kernel, mods etc.)
State the runtime you are using.

This rom is based on paranoid android, the gallery issue is caused by the sd card issue that some people reported on the PA thread I think.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I think it has a problem with ext storage... Continue testing....
Thanks a lot! :good:

1-The rom is very fast , stable
2- camera is working
3-the sound is only working after reflashing a kernel
( i used persues repacked kernel )
4- sound quality is good
is the theming allowed in this rom ? i download a cm11 theme but theres no theme option !

There's no an option for Quick Settings. PA makes it hardcoded. To edit it, open the Quick settings and tap on the four square icon to edit.

I also had this problem before (gallery not showing, swiftkey language error, etc)
But now is gone
Just flash with perseus repacked kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50935294&postcount=2776
Now almost everything worked perfectly

This ROM is based on the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP). This was originally made out of pure boredom and for personal use. After sharing it with a few people, we decided to take it a step further and turn it into something special while still having fun. Since then we've decided to share this ROM with the community and have ported it over to several devices to include the GNEX, Nexus 4, HTC One, Note 2, EVO 3D and much more!
Since we do not take ANY credit for the original code used in this ROM we would like to give credit and just say thanks to all the teams and individuals that have helped us in one way or another!

[B]NOTE #1[/B] - Although untested, wimax should work! I can't test due to the fact I'm on Boost Mobile but if not, logcats...logcats and logcats! Also, the 4G CM powerwidget icon works
if you press/hold but does not work if you press it to enable/disable. I'm currently working on that but at least you got Wimax service :)
[B]NOTE #2[/B] - For those not familiar with Xposed framework, is a Per App DPI changer TYPE of app. If you've used Paranoidandroid then you might know what I'm talking about when I say Per App DPI.
For those that don't, it lets you change the density of not just the entire ROM but let's you pick and chose what apps are set at what density. An example of this might be having your settings app at 180 and your phone app at 240.
[B]- To start playing with Xposed Settings, go into Settings/Dirt Settings and click on Xposed Settings.
- After that, go into Frameworks & Modules and click on Install/Update and hit OK then Reboot your phone
[COLOR=#ff0000](this will created a flashable zip called "Xposed-Disabler-CWM.zip" on the root of your sdcard just in case things go bad)[/COLOR]
- Once you come back to your homescreen, go into Settings/Dirt Settings/Xposed Settings and hit the MODULES tap to the top right of your screen.
- Go ahead and enable Xposed App Settings and reboot
- After you come back to your homescreen again, go into Settings/Dirt Settings/Xposed Setting and into Per App Settings
- Go into any app, turn the off switch to on, change the DPI from 0 to whatever you want and hit the SAVE icon to the top right[/B]
120 = LDPI (usually tablets of any kind)
160 = MDPI (LG Optimus V, Xperia X8, etc)
240 = HDPI (EVO 4G, EVO 3D, etc)
320 = XHDPI (EVO LTE, Galaxy Nexus, etc)

Q - Do I have to wipe before flashing??
A - YES, even if you're coming from a previous version of this ROM.
Q - I flashed (Insert kernel name) and now I'm having an issue, what should I do?
A - You can do one of two things. First one is to wipe everything and flash the ROM again and stick with the stock kernel. Everything was tested on the stock kernel and aside from what's under known issues, everything works as it should. The other thing is to find the developer of the kernel and report the bug/issue to them. Not trying to sound nasty or be rude BUT I can't and won't provide support for every kernel.
Q - I flashed the ROM and now I have an issue, what should I do?
A - Don't freak out! Pull a logcat and paste it on to pastebin and provide me a link in the thread to it. Along with the logcat, please provide me with as much information as possible. Things that you would think could help me fix this issue.....i.e what kernel you're running, what happened, what did you prior to the bug/issue.
Q - How do I pull a logcat?
A - Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Q - I see (Insert developer name) has fixed this or has added this feature, are you going to do the same?
A - NO! No disrespect to that developer but I have not and will not keep up with what other developers are doing.
Q - I hate Google Voice and want to use Sprint VVM, where can I find it?[
Mine just in case
Great to see more options available!
This has a lot of features, does it have any performance optimizations? (Linaro, etc.)

Not at the moment. Dirty Unicorns is still pretty new. Only a few devices
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
The ROM seems to come with navbar disabled by default, which has disadvantages when there are no hardware buttons. ^^
(I flashed only DU and PA-Gapps.)
Welcome! Looks good. Nice with an aokp release with halo..

Yes, I apologize. It appears as if that gapps package was taken down for some reason.
To all, I apologize that I have not pushed out an update. I had a death in the family and have had little to no time to work on the ROM. Many new features and fixes will be on their way soon.

No worries, glad I could help.
Just wondered if I was putting noses out of joint if you had something going with Goo Manager and had to use their website.
I can confirm that the gapps package I put the link up for works fine.
Sorry for your loss in the family.

I also had issues with hybrid settings. Changed to phablet mode but then status bar pull down takes up the whole screen. Couldn't figure out a way in the settings to make it look like stock phablet mode on nexus 10. Where right side pull down is the quick settings tiles and left side is the notification drawer. When layout was 500p phablet I couldn't change system ui from 360p in apps section. Would constantly crash.

Syk69, I noticed the same issue. I am working to fix that and I may have it completed this weekend.
Thanks for the info.
Now I'm getting on a bit, and my eyesight isn't what it used to be.
Anyone know how I can increase the font size of the status bar text ?
Currently using the rom in phablet mode.
When phablet mode was selected, the statusbar text was reduced in size.
I'm new to this phablet mode thing, so any help will be gratefully received.
Thanks.

That's fair enough. It's not like we have an unstable ROM or anything.
I'd rather wait and move onto another stable ROM, as you have taken the time to get it right. :good:

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....

ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Kitkat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

Endeavoru specific notes:
You will need at least a particular version of CWM recovery to flash AICP Kitkat. It should be version 6.0.4.5 or later. As of the initial release of AICP KK 1.0,
- one is available in CM 11.0 thread, recovery-6.0.4.5-endeavoru.img.
- Phil's Touch recovery version 6.07.9 based on CWM 6.0.4.5 or later also does the job.
Please remember to flash boot.img included in the ROM's zip file via fastboot using
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
[*][B]Xposed users:[/B] it seems that we are still feeling our way around SELinux/xposed here. So, as usual with any custom piece of software such as any ROM here in XDA, note that there are no guarantees given, stated or implied when it comes to the flaws inherent in the current version or implementation of xposed in this ROM that may cause data loss or any kind of damage. ROM doesn't come preinstalled with xposed. By downloading and installing xposed on your phone, you hereby agree to not hold me, my team, teemo, Lloir, or rogro89 in any possible way responsible for any damage that it may cause. As per @teemo's instructions,if you have it installed, uninstall Xposed completely (not the modules). Then install again, activate and reboot for max security.

Nice to see your first own thread! I'm usin' aicp kk in background since your first alpha/beta release. I've to say this is the most stable and fastest KitKat I've tried on HOX.
BUT: since beta from 29th phone app is force closing. So I copied phone app from 21th release to 29th and FC is gone. So...what is gone wrong in repo or what else between that?

Thank you. I'm excited TBH with you.
I have been using the phone actively, and did not experience that issue. Can you try erasing data and cache of phone app and resync that with google if necessary? There were some changes to commits included earlier so that maybe the cause. Have you tried after full wipe?
Just flashed the rom everything works as expected
very smooth
halo, wifi and bt everything works for me
Also no echo bug
Pretty stable rom :good:
Ahhh one more for hox. Good to see!
Hi, I've downloaded both Rom and gaps and ready to flash, but don't know if I can use xm's kernel as alternative , and witch gaps is better to flash ?

Any gapps are fine as long as they are KitKat ones. I've given links to two in op. As for other kernels, please try with included one first until you get the hang of features and their limitations. That's what I would do. Xmister is still working on his kernel.
Nice rom! I just flashed it, and already love it
Very good for RC1.
Thanks to @eyosen and AICP team.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days, it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). However, many others have joined the project since and it has grown a lot. We have seen a wide variety of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone on to help other projects, and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base, which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. With that said, it has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

UPDATE:
Installed this rom and....uauuuu
I lost the count the number of roms i have installed on telephone`s....but taking in consideration this is a new recent phone, everthing i try so far works very well:
- Gestures
- DPI as 330
- NO fc
The only "negative" point, if i can call it its the quality of photos vs original...but those who already using this roms, now who it is...
Almost forgotten...
Navigon gps software seems to work!!
At least did install without problems!
Congratulations! Very impressed so far!
