# If you wanna unlock bootloader on your device,root it,or flash custom rom check this!
Link! - Thank you hasoon2000
# When we are talking about stock roms,here is a link to thread where you can find all stock NANDROID backups
Link! - Thank you matt95
# There is a lot of users that flash custom rom's from other devices..And then we have a problem..But if you use rom's from here,everything will be great
Link!
Link!
Big thanks to our developers,they are doing a great job
# Hmmm,now you are asking what is custom rom?
Well when Google release some android version..They leave code public..So everybody can play with it..Add some thins,remove some things,developers can make him faster..So it can be something close to stock rom and it doesn't..Remember it's determined android version with modifications
# Also a lot of you is asking for themes,how to flash it etc..Here you can find themes!
Link!
## For a proper flashing of custom roms you should follow these steps:
1.Download ROM .zip
2.Download 'gapps' if your ROM need it (Google Applications) if not jump to 3.
3.When you download your ROM copy it to your phone memory
4.Flash boot.img (via Fastboot) Boot.img you will find in your ROM .zip just extract it to Fastboot file directory
5.To evade stuck on HTC screen also clear cache
For step 3 use this command:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
For step 5 use this command:
Fastboot erase cache
## New members are reading a Fastboot for the first time..What is fastboot,how to use it,and everything other you can found in this very interesting thread
Link! - Thank you ricky310711
This are a few basic things that you should know before any action..I just made this thread so there will be a lot of updates..So I hope it can help..

Good job, mate. :good:
Just, I'm afraid it won't have so much of the effect. :crying:
I wish I am wrong

[Q] TWRP Update path for One M8

Hello everyone and have a Merry Christmas,
I'm trying to update my TWRP recovery because I want to go 100% stock. I'm still running TWRP 2.7.0.2. The most recent version of TWRP is 2.8.3.0.
I downloaded the TWRP manager app from the Play store and easily selected the last available version of the recovery to install.
After downloading the .img file, I get a pop up that looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The pop up says: "Be sure that the listed path is correct for your device. An uncorrect check may result in bricking your device. You can't flash a recovery directly on Android on some devices. If you can't flash through Android, please choose a different method".
It looks like a "routine" alert, but nonetheless it sounds very alarming. How can I say if the listed path is the correct one for my device (HTC One M8 unbranded GSM international version)?
Thank you for helping.
why update twrp ? twrp is not stock ! and you can also fastboot flash it. oldskool way
Because the procedure to go stock requires some flashing and it was adviced to have the latest version running.
I'm not such an expert, I'm more the type who tries to read as much as possible before trying anything, and upgrading TWRP was a sort of "pre-step".
Also I'm not very keen to use fastboot: I got that it is great, but it is not very straightfoward for beginners.
The tool from the Play store seemed to do the job pretty good and easily.

What if I flash a custom recovery over a custom recovery? Is it possible to simply flash it and overwrite an already existing custom recovery?
there is no other way, the recovery will always overwrite the old one. its impossible to run 2 recoveries

Getting 5.x Lollipop Update on Rooted HTC ON M8 International

Hi all
Apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I cannot find any information on this for the life of me and it's driving me mad.
I have a notification stating that my 5.0 OTA update is ready but I can't install it due to the Custom Recovery on my device.
I followed this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376) and flashed the 'stock' (not actually Stock - every link it CWM or TWRP) recovery but it didn't work and the update still fails. I think I read somewhere that something is different about this particular update.. that you need to have an 'untouched'/never rooted device?
Plllleeeeeeeeeeeeeease can someone steer me in the right direction so I can get this update sorted?
Thanks in advance.
have you made any system modifications to your current rom?
Also need CID and firmware version number
ALSO needs to be in Q&A (asked the mods to move)
Thanks for that.

ok so you have clean 3.29.401.9 stock rom installed, if not restore the nand available in my thread via TWRP. (may be best to do this as a fresh start)
Next install the 3.28.401.9 stock recovery.img from the first post in my thread.
hoprfully then u should be able to tale OTA automatically

every link is CWM or TWRP are stock Nandroid backup, not recovery.img
Look under Stock Recovery Images for the stock recovery
Thanks for your help, that seems to have done it.
The first time I didn't pay enough attention to my correct Software number (in my case 3.28.401.9). When I matched up my CID (HTC_001) I just picked a random link on that list which is why it didn't work.
Got it going now and back on custom recovery so thanks again for your assistance

[Q] Request, hot to backup android 6 Marshmallow

I'm now receiving the update to Android 6
My Device M8 Dual Sim - S-ON
after the update to finish
i want to take copy or (Backup) for the Stock ROM
to use it in emergency case
how can i do it
thanks for help
The same way you always could. Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP (AFTER the OTA, cause otherwise it cannot be installed) and then backup system with untouched system image.
No more spoon feeding than done above, as there are threads, how tos and FAQs all over this forum. Just use the forum search and you will find out how it works
Send by the swarm intelligence of my coffee machine (AKA HTC One M9).
thank you HTCNerdYoda for reply

Search the nandroid/stock recovery collections, or dual SIM M8 specific posts, to see if anyone posted the recovery you need.
Or extract it from the corresponding OTA file.
Or, if you haven't installed TWRP yet, you may be able to boot TWRP remotely by fastboot (before flashing it to the phone). Then once booted in TWRP, you can backup the stock recovery.
where can i find OTA File after download and before install it
any one know the location of OTA file after download finish to take copy of it before install

Wrong stock recovery.img
It needs 4.30.401.18 but you installed 4.30.401.16
You can get the right recovery 4.30.401.18 in my thread (post #4)

xiaomitool. No more bootloops

Like many of you, I also had the problem that the phone had a bootloop after a flash. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. I found and tried this tool xiaomitool from Francesco. With this tool you can flash any rom without bootloop. Please save your data before
Thus tool does a flash completely automatically. You even didn't need TWRP pre-installed on your device

Hi,
First, I'd like to thank you for finding the tool and publishing it here.
It's a really handy Application.
After moving around in the app quite a bit, I couldn't find any way to install any custom roms.
All it offers - Miui Global/Beta, Chinese Official/Beta roms and some other tweaks (TWRP, SU etc.)
How to flash any other custom Rom..?
Am I missing something here..?
Please describe.
Thanks in advance.
