Hello "paullu", regarding your question, even not being an earphone expert, I would say that they are, at least, as good as the majority of corded earphones priced from 15-40 euros. Cheers.

I just bought one will be here on Monday
I am not expect it has excellent sound but it is convenient for running. Let see how it work

In my opinion, the sound is more than adequate. As for myself, I also bought it mainly for sports (running, biking, etc.) and I am quit pleased with it. The battery last around 5-6 hours streaming music and, even if it weights a little bit more than advertised by Sony (around 24 g. on my scale, against 15.8g advertised) it still is quit confortabble while running.

I would say that that the volume sound is as high as most of the more common wired headsets. Putting it in another way, I only remember having one headset with an evident biger sound, the one provided with an HTC One X that I had a couple years ago (beats headphone) but, on the down side, they broke up after 3-4 month of use! He he

this is going to be really unhelpful but as everyone's opinion is subjective i recently bought one of these and all i can really tell is that i'm happy and don't regret spending the money!

[q] Overall Sound Quality

I just "upgraded" from a dinc to a dinc2 and I'm pretty disappointed. I am trying to see if I can get some help from you guys before my 14 days are up.
1) The external speaker is horrible. On my dinc I used the speaker phone for all calls and 3-5 hours of XM Radio a day. The speaker was loud, clear and oddly amazing. The dinc2 -- I can kind of make a phone call, but it's not very loud and there is a nasty 'tin can' sound to it. Playing music through this thing is just horrible compared to the dinc, it's not loud enough and sounds like gibberish.
2) In call quality through the headset speaker has the same tin can sound and I swear I can hear myself talk through the headset sometimes.
3) The size -- love it
4) Software -- love it
I actually love everything about this phone other than the audio quality. I brought it back to the Verizon store a couple hours after buying it and they told me that it just had a lower quality speaker. After reading some reviews I think he is full of it. Please help/advise!!
Thanks
neal
I an pretty disappointed with mine as well.

The speaker does seem to be a bit lower quality. I came from an Eris, though, which had an even worse speaker, so I didn't really notice it. However, the general consensus seems to be that the speaker is not as great as other devices.
What kind of headset are you using? I use headphones plugged into the 3.5mm port and it sounds pretty great to me. Bluetooth isn't as high fidelity, but it's still not bad (I assume this is due to compression over A2DP), and definitely not tinny. I haven't tried bluetooth communications as I actually don't use my phone as a phone very often (so much for being a phone!).
I thought it was just mine with the external sound speaker problem.
VZW is sending me a new one. Should be here today.
Will test the new one, but based on this thread, I'm not optimistic that another one solves the problem.
I also requested a new one because my GPS takes 5-8 minutes to lock on.

New Bluetooth Headset

Hello, I have the Samsung Galaxy SII and I own already two BT headsets:
- Plantronics Discovery 640
- Nokia BH-609
The problem with plantronics is the blue light that flashes. Especially at night if I am watching a movie with low light, it is so bothering that I have to turn it off. Also it is old tech.
The Nokia BH-609 has great sound quality but a big problem for me: if I put it together with my phone one the same pocket there are 90% chances that the multifunction button gets double clicked and the phone redials the last called number (usually wife ) I installed third party apps in the Galaxy SII but couldn't reassign double click function.
Another problem with BH-609 is that if I will separate the phone for some minutes then to save battery it turns off and then I have to flash it on again to use it.
So now I am on the market for a new BT. Money is not an issue. My requirements are:
- difficult to double click (like plantronics or jabra)
- not bothering flashing blue light or at least a function to turn it off (like nokia BH-609)
I will use mainly for calls but I want to listen to low level music when I walk my dog.
Since money is not an issue I was thinking Jawbone ERA Motion. Do you think it meets my requirements?
Also does the plantronics Voyager Pro+ have a function to turn off the blue flashing? Or at least is it less bothering than Discovery 640?
Thanks
Well nevermind I just ordered the Jawbone ERA Bluetooth Headset (Midnight)
Hope I won't regret it.
I got it yesterday. Very cool looking headset. There is a free app that shows the battery level in the phone. Use the same charger as the phone (SGS2) I also got it updated easily through the jawbone website.
So far so good - think it worths the money.

i bought the Motorola Finity.. it is and isn't worth the money.. sound canceling is amazing, but it won't notify me of my notifications if my phone is silent... defeating some of the purpose of needing it..
sadly, this was the only blue tooth that i found that actually fit in my ear... all the circle buds were to big.. so... it is what it is..
hope you like your bt

Thanks for your input. Actually problems started yesterday evening. The phone shows that the ERA is connected but in some calls I hear nothing, completely no sound, even though it seems connected and the SGS2 shows that the headset handles the call.
Is it common problem?

Hi, what do you mean new rom? For your info I updated yesterday through maker's site and I have the new firmware. The problem is this:
1 out of 5 calls (approx) I hear nothing, although the Galaxy S2 shows the the call is being handled by the headset. So sometimes for testing I call a phone of a friend in the same place with me, and although I hear the ring on the other phone, I hear nothing from the headset, that somehow still controls the call, because if I double tap it the call ends.
I called the online shop that I bought it and await for their reply.

Oh I see, no my phone is not flashed or rooted.
Does my BT problem sound to you like a faulty headset or a common jawbone problem?
I think a bad headset. Oh, and sometimes for whatever reason, bt doesn't work with all phones, but a new model should have no problem. I'd call jabra support and find out.

I have a cheap old Plantronics 220. The volume level sucks and the earloop is just painful.
After playing with my friends Jawbone, I'm thinking about going that route. Unless you guys have some other suggestions about 'loopless' headsets.
Plus you can pick up the Jawbones new on Amazon now for around 40 bucks if you look around. Win.
i don't know. i returned mine back and waiting for the new one.
as a design and fit to the ear without the loop it was excellent. it had also the clearest sound that i heard from BT headset.
Cons on using on android:
- you have to use 3rd party app, otherwise there is no sign of connection with the phone (unlike most other headsets that show a headphone display on the top of the android)
- if you set the headset as multimedia also (not only to work during call) and have set the android to notifications sounds, these sounds will go to the headset and will drain the phone's battery pretty fast.
These are my conclusions from only two days of usage.
I use this. http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...ices/Bluetooth-Headsets/MOTOROLA-FINITI-US-EN
No need for 3rd party app, at least on inspire. Fits amazing with out ear loop, but I use it for the just in case. Would freak if it fell and busted it I lost it.
It fits inside your ear, not just sitting there. It has stealth technology, which says blocks wind to 40 MPH. But I know that I can be on a phone call and vacuum and no one knows I'm vacuuming. Lol.
Here's the thing I don't like. If my phone is silent, so is my bt on notification. And if i get a phone call, I don't get the ringtone all the time, but itbalways says, who is calling me.

Might buy OPTIMUS LTE, few questions!

Hey guys!
I'm glad to see the beginnings of some development in these forums!
I'm looking to jump ship from my HTC incredible S to move to one of these phones.
My questions are:
My incredible S has background noise that I can hear in quieter parts of music. This is very frustrating, as one thing I love is a clean sounding PMP. Does the optimus LTE suffer from a background hiss as well?
What kind of battery life are people getting when only using HSPA?
Are the rumours about the battery being complete **** true?
Thanks a lot guys!

Hi Hereric, glad u r interested in the Optimus LTE. To answer your questions:
1) I can guarantee 100% that there is no background noise when listening to music on this phone. I use PowerAmp and Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10vi Headsets and have not heard a single background noise on full volume on quieter parts of a song. Just wondering, but are you sure it's not either your headset or the mp3 file itself that is causing a background noise?
2&3) Answering both questions together. To tell you the truth, yes, the battery WAS ****. Notice I said "WAS" instead of "IS". The reason to this is that the battery on this phone somehow improves overtime.
In the first couple of weeks, I cannot maintain more than 5-6 hours before dipping below 10%. But by the end of the first month, the phone literally can last the whole business day on average use before hitting red. Now, nearly two months later, the battery can actually last a whole day (12-14 hours) without charge, again on regular use.
Now what I mean by regular use is, talking on the phone every now and then, constantly having WI-FI and GPS on and searching, browsing the internet, playing some heavy gaming (Where's the Water or Jelly Defense), listening to music for at least 4 hours (2 to 2 fro), and some other things randomly done. I say that is what most people will do on their phones.
Now about HSPA or LTE, the battery usage is now barely negligible. I travel to n fro areas of either HSPA+ or LTE and at one point, it seems the battery takes a hit when it is searching for LTE constantly, but now, it doesn't do so. Again, like I previously said, somehow, this phone adapts to something and reduces its battery usage.
Hopefully that answers your questions.
The static noise issue is definitely a problem with the phone's analog audio output as I have the same problem on any speakers/headphones using the 3.5mm jack. Bluetooth playback is crystal clear.
Thanks for your response man! Hopefully picking one up tomorrow for 400ish dollars on kijiji!

The Nitro battery is absolutely not going to last as long as an iPhone 4 with similar usage patterns, I know from experience. That being said, you couldn't pay me enough money to switch back to apple.
I had the nitro and returned it. Now I have the galaxy sII skyrocket and they have announced the HD version. I'm within my 30 days. I'm very tempted to switch back. I miss the HD screen! All the skyrockets have a screen defect also. Not to mention I just bought this phone and the new version is right around the corner. (That's life right? ). Now that I can assume the nitro will eventually get cm9 and hopefully miui I believe ill be switching back! Anyone want to further persuade me? :-D

I used to use one of these while working out. Locked the screen and disabled the Changing of tracks with the volume rocker. That way there were no accidental track changes. I lost the Nokia bluetooth adapter and have ordered this as a replacement.
The main reason I like this style of bluetooth adapter is that it allows me to use whatever set of headphones I want to. I just wish someone would make one with Apt-X.

Pair with some bluetooth headphones and go.

I found the pedometer pretty interesting so far. I did a 1.5 mile walk yesterday and used both S Health and Runtastic for tracking. Both apps were spot on for distance, but were off by 50 calories of each other. So runtastic tracked my distance by GPS and S Health tracked my distance by steps. I was impressed.
I also like the fact that you can turn off the screen and it will still track your steps.
I use fitbit for weight tracking, myfitnesspal for calorie intake and runtastic for walking, cycling and heart rate monitoring. While S Health is more nicer looking and has everything rolled in one, I don't think I'll use other then for the built in pedometer. But I'm thinking on buying a BodyMedia Link for a more precise daily calorie burn.
Also I can't get S Health to detect my runtastic heart monitor. It says it will work with the Wahoo monitor which, I think is just a rebrand.

How much does it drain the battery to leave it on all day? I used the "Moves" app which is kind of like S Health without all the excessive features (basically just a pedometer) and my battery drained around 20% more every day, so I stopped using it. (On a Nexus 4 though, thats why i'm wondering what it is on this phone).

Thats good. I guess thats why samsung has all those sensors on the phone.
I'll probably get some cheapo MP3 player to jog with, possibly a iPod Nano. Granted I've jogged with my Note 2 before, it just becomes kind of a chore to hold and run with.
Been using a spibelt (http://www.spibelt.com/) for years (g1, galaxy vibrant, g2x, s3) and found that the Note3 just barely fits (i dont' have a case yet) in the big pocket of the 2 pocket style belt. No bounce at all while running.

My gear works quite well thank you.
It does, but the problem is that it needs a phone to make it "smart." I believe it's not self sufficient.
I'm not knocking it, it's a great effort. But, it's hard to ignore that it is more of an accessory to the galaxy devices, rather than a stand alone smart watch.
I was getting one myself when I first heard about it, but seeing it's limitations, I don't think it is justifiable to shell out 300 for it.
Granted, the gear 2 will be just amazing. Look at the note series... The 2nd and 3rd revisions are just awesome.

2 gig ram, over 1.5 being used on boot because Samsung has so much crap running in the background. No USB 3.0 port, just standard usb. High resolution screen doesn't have the pop I was expecting, maybe devs have to update icons. Viewing angles aren't great, I can deal with that. Speakers are clear, but low volume level. I really need root on this guy to get rid of all the bloat. It's not slowing the tablet down, but just so much unneeded junk. Flash works well in browser also. The new mag ui seems useless. It's nothing more than multiple flipboard widgets on the screen. Hopefully this helps anyone on the fence.

This isn't the Magazine UX, those are just widgets, Magazine UX is coming at a later date, I find the volume to be much lower than the G PAD and the Nexus 7, they are also better than those om the Note 10.1 2014, and as for the screen.... I think it's by far the best screen I've used on any device, including apples retina displays

Thanks for the update... this is a bummer. Might just stick with my Note 8!

Display is amazing. The speakers are very loud on mine especially videos. I was surprised. Much louder than on my ipad mini. Most will love it and you will also have the haters who complain to complain. I think samsung did a great job this time with a great total package tablet

I'll be buying one of those 50 dollar Bluetooth speakers from Walmart I forget what its called but it will solve my sound issue
I don't think the speaker volume is loud enough but it's nothing viper4android can't fix just need root. I've been using showbox and sadly it's too low when watching shows and movies.

My speakers are surprisingly loud, much more so than the G Pad I had.

I don't have much to compare it to so I'm not saying the speakers are bad, in fact I'll take your word for it that its better. If I try to watch a movie through showbox using mx player the room has to be completely silent or I can't really hear what's going on. This was worse when I used my nook hd(it's much better than the nook I couldn't use the speakers at all even in a quiet room), then I installed viper and it was great. So I suspect the speakers aren't bad they just made the default max too low. Then again it might just be my hearing

Speakers kick but, plenty loud.

Music seems average but videos using the stock video app are quite loud to me. I was surprised and quite happy with the volume level
The speakers are not that bad. I have a s3 and note 8 and both do not sound as full as the 8.4. Though the 8.4 isn't as loud. It's close though. I'm very happy with the speakers
