Option for Display Screen Mode not available?? - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
Can someone confirm if the option to change the screen mode (Adapt Display, Dynamic, Standard, Professional Photo, and Movie) is available in Note 3 Neo? The official review on gsmarena states it does have that option, but I am not able to see it on my mobile.
Model number is SM-N750, android 4.3.

There is no Option for Screen Mode.

No maybe in the next release we will have it.

Dont know...a lot of options in settings are actually missing even though they should up when you search in the settings menu. Looks like they are disabled purposely by Samsung to differentiate the two phones even further (which is stupid really as the price of the two phones is so close to each other).
I have no idea why they had to remove camera modes like night, surround etc. The hardware is totally capable of using those modes with a lower camera resolution

With all these missing options i believe we will not have support cause nobody will make a root or rom for note 3 neo.

really is a very stupid idea from samsung...

Yes.....by using it lol.
If somethings wrong with it, it should show.
yes smarta** I know that
we'll have a few hours for testing after receiving the tablet and leaving the country, if there's a tool or some secret menu (like there was in note II) that will come handful

You mean the developer options in the settings? Go to Settings : General : Device info and click some times on the build number. But there will be no software to really test hardware.
There's no need for the rudeness, his answer was legitimate. Most of the issues with the device can only be found through normal usage.
If the device has no noticeable flaws in the build quality, then the next step you could do is to download a 'backlight test' app. Search the play store, there are many.
Expect to see a row of small lights along the bottom of the screen, this seems to be normal for this device.
However many of these apps also allow you to switch between different colours, so you can check for obvious stuck pixels as well.
However all of this is looking for trouble. You'll find backlight bleed under the extreme test conditions, but the only important part is if you notice any bleed during normal usage. In my case, the answer was no.
So if normal usage doesnt show light bleed, and you cant see any stuck pixels, then theres not much else other than using it to see if spmething falls off.
All of this is standard for every phone, tablet, and anything with an LCD screen, there's no unique special tests for the note. Though I would add that you might as well test the pen works, though I've never heard of one failing yet.

Does the Tab S have a proper dialler

Dont know why it is so hard to find this info online but can someone confirm whether the 4g/LTETab S can be used as a big phone i.e it has a normal dialler just like a phone (when used with a sim card of course).
Thanks
Yes it does

The tab s 8.4lte I think has the phone speaker near the camera in which you can use vs the tab s 10.5 doesnt
Anyway to pull the apk? I could use bluetooth on the rare chance that I need to use the dialer.
from what i know US carrier don't allow phone capabilities on tablets, so that tab s with a dialer, is it an exynoss international version? does it get LTE from t-mobile and at&t? does the snapdragon version have a dialer? if i buy a US carrier version can I add a dialer and text apps that will actually work with my phone number? lol
man are these tablets over price for the old technology they come with. a note 3 is better. that screen though that screen!

Active Display

Hey guys,
I have the Moto G 4G/LTE (XT1039)
Recently, I have been unsuccessfully attempting and working around for ways to make "Active Display" to work on our phones... No such luck!!
So, I decided to try and experiment with possible replacement apps that can do the same or similar job...
And the best replacement app I have found so far to "Active Display" is:
• AC Display
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.achep.acdisplay&hl=en
This app ? Is definitely my favorite.
Works well and is fully compatible with the Moto G sensors and even with the lock screen using the music player as well.
I really liked the look of the Deprecated version:
• AC Display (Deprecated)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.achep.activedisplay&hl=en
? But the sensors don't work!
I also tried:
• Dynamic notifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.activenotifications&hl=en_GB
But I found this app being faulty on my phone, and the sensors definitely unresponsive or other times working the wrong way around...
So, if you guys have any other suggestions?
? Please share your thoughts and suggestions!

??? ? please can you elaborate?
"Amoled display" for what?
I'm really trying to understand your point, but I fail to understand your logic.
Saying that, I understand that you are only repeating the same comment from other forums participants.
? If you download "AC Display (Deprecated)" you will find that is the exact carbon copy of "Active Display" from Motorola. Unfortunately the sensors on that app don't work. The App was "Deprecated".
The reason for that, was that the developer was worried that Motorola would put a stop on his app development.
(Check is comments on Google+)
So he changed the layout of the app to stop the obvious resemblance to the Motorola app and he launched the current "AC Display" that does a similar job to the original with working sensors as well, but with a different esthetic look.
The app is still in development.
My point here is:
Not so long ago we didn't had "driving mode" and "home mode" on the Moto G.
Today Motorola finally give us that.
In the exact same way they can give us "Active Display" taylored for our phones.
In reality, Motorola/Lenovo can easily give us some power saving version of Moto voice if they desire, since they have already give us the home and driving mode.
? Everything is possible, for as long there is a will, than there is a way...
But realistically they will leave the premium options for the more expensive Moto X.

i think than you..
according to me an obstacle for the touchless control and the active display of motorola is the presence of one micro processor dedicate to this functiones..but everything is possible..
motorola developers have tried to porting a version lite of the active display ... this is established from the presence of the process Active Display Lite..
The active display from the moto X doesn't work on the Moto G because the moto X has an Amoled display which can turn single pixels on and off.
AC display works well on my moto g XT1033, was searching for this kind of app since 2 months. Thanks alot.:good:

Several Noob Questions

So, I just purchased the Global Model and boy do I have questions.
1) The ICONS and fonts (including, and especially Notifications) are HUGE compared to most phones. I have adjusted all of the settings to lowest possible font and app style but they're still massive. Is this a View 20 thing or is my software / screen resolution somehow not working properly? I have set it to FHD+ on default.
2) The Dark Modes are working okish but why is there no official one that would be bug free? LCD screen cannot be the reason, as most LCD screen phones with Android 9 offer Dark Mode.
3) The lack of root access and modified ROMs is worrisome. Is the reason because this is a new phone? Or is there no interest in making custom Roms?
4) How many updates can we expect from Honor for this model?
5) The camera is super AI-oriented, but I haven't got a single clue of what it can actually do. Is there a tutorial video of Honor 20 View's features?

1) I honestly do not know. Ive made my display smaller in the settings but have kept the font normal. It looks perfect like this for me.
2) I have kept mine normal as i too cannot find a dark mode setting. Some normal apps like messages do offer a dark mode though.
3) Honor have stopped giving out bootloader unlock codes thus why there isnt any root or roms.
4) As this is a new flagship phone, i can expect them to service this phone for atleast 2 years.
5) Ai mode simply looks at the picture and the surrounding and brightens/darkens specific parts of the picture (i may be wrong though)

Note 20 Ultra Full Screen in Call Caller Id Pic Wanted

It has always been a preference of mine to have a full screen image when calling someone. Rewind back some years, I believe maybe the Hyperdrive ROMs time period and this was the norm. I believe it's similar to what appears on iPhone during a call. Basically the full screen background is the contact pic of the person you are talking with. There was a mod available on XDA for my Note 8 I believe which dropped off with an OS update to Android 9 or so. I never have understood why Samsung keeps the contact pic so small, even when the sizes of the phones increased. Now, with the latest Android 11 and Samsung UI 3.0 update, there is an option to make a pic or video the background when making calls. So while this is heading the right direction, it's still not exactly there.
Anyone in the themeing world have any insight into this, as far as the capability to provide a full screen in call caller ID image as the background?

I was told by a couple developers that it wasnt possible after the Note 8 got updated, and moving forward. At least based off of the old method that was floating around for the Note 8. I feel like its setup at this point based off of the ability to add an image or video to the call screen. Just need some experienced help!

I think they threw that in starting with 3.0. I just hate the small contact pic. While I was able to customize the background with a default pic, Id rather have the contact pic utilize the screen. Tiho5 posted a link for an app that seems to work great so far. Pretty much fully customizable!
