No Power Save Mode on Verizon HTC One? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my One, feel free to ask me anything you want to know, but I don't see any power save options here, was this true for the M7 on VZW too? very sad if it's not there

I thought I read in one of the releases that the power save option was coming, but not on the handset now.
Found it, from the Engadget livestream of the HTC event
BRAD MOLEN 10:26 AM
The M8 also has a power saver mode for regular use. "You'll be surprised how long your battery lasts." Shortly after launch, there will be an extreme power saver mode, which looks like it's a simplified menu of options.

Thanks, that did sound familiar. I hope it comes with a normal power saving mode as well, but I'm sure third party apps or custom roms will help for that in the future.

What is the internal storage you got with your one? Is 32gb the base for Verizon? How much is actually available? Thanks!

I'm most curious about the unlock/root capabilities. I have to have root access or the handset is not useful to me.

No, there is an LED behind the top grill. (Mine's flashing right now). There is a powersave mode, but there will be an "extreme" powersave mode available as an update a little later on, Jason reported at today's roll out.
In an answer to an earlier question, my internal memory shows 8.92gb used of the 32g with only built-in apps updated, and nothing except Helium installed.

Have you used GPS yet? Read an early review from engadget and they claim the GPS is buggy. Notice anything like that?
Also curious what your battery life will be like in a few days with LTE?
Thanks for the info!

It's not there cause the US models aren't running the latest software in comparison to the international one:

I've done a bit of changing things, so if I've already forgotten what's stock and what's modded, I thought in settings --> power there's a checkbox for powersave (*not* extreme powersave). It's possible I saw something here on xda that talked about a sqlite edit to a settings file that turned that on. I see you have a Skyfall signature, so assuming you're already S-OFF and rooted yourself, I'm sure you can also make that change.

Mine include the clutter in the notification bar, particularly the WiFi Calling item, and the "suggested activities" on plugging in headphones. I'll let you guess which I've already removed.
e: If it's a major missing feature like real lock screen widgets or photo sphere, it probably doesn't belong in this thread, nor does hardware items.
You know you can now hide the wifi calling by long pressing on it in the notification bar, going to app info, and clicking to turn off notifications? It removes the icon and keeps your wifi calling intact.
Widgets. Battery drains I never use.

How about PhotoSphere? I heard it's not on the S4, even though it has 4.2.2.

Manage your LED notification light fast and easily. No more trying to guess which app or which person demands your attention with random colors.
Features:
Select color by app or by text. Your favorite contacts can have their own color no matter which app they use to contact you.
Handle missed called.
Fine tune blinking speed for each notification.
Lightweight, almost no memory and battery footprint.
This app makes use of Android's 4.3 Notification Listener and thus it must be enabled under Device Settings > Security > Notification Access. It cannot access the internet so your personal data is absolutely safe.
Thanks for giving it a look!

That's strange, you turn off the screen and it does nothing?
Maybe you have something else messing with the LED? (For example cyanogenmod has built-in led control).

Hello XDA Members,

I have been looking for this feature too, but nothing has come up yet. @trailblazer101 is making a lot of feeds, maybe he can do this for us?
I've been hoping we can have it turn on and off for a set amount of time. Was also hoping to change the activation method from a swipe left to right to a simple double/triple tap.

Did you flash the right version for you version/build? That's rather important, since there's enough differences between them to cause that. Also I have learned Alliance Framework + Cocktail AutoOn don't mesh too well just yet. If you definitely flashed the right version, for your carrier/version/ROM/build then post on that Thread what you are running (ex: 925V OE2, the more information the better), which version you tried, and I'll take a look. However most packages were confirmed working for their respected counterparts.

If you go in to system updates through the settings and check for the update, you have 3 options, No Thanks, Download Later, and Download Now.
If you click No Thanks, the alert goes away. It will even state in the system update app that the last update (on June 30th, 2105) failed.
Download later allows you to choose a time that better suits you.
And of course Download Now, starts the process right now.
Hope this helps.

From Droid-Life:
An update is rolling out for the LG G4 on Verizon, bringing a few features to owners, but nothing all that special. The software version is labeled as VS98611A.
Included is an enhanced Folio display while a call is taking place, an updated consistency for displaying contacts and non-contacts in the Dialer app, and an enhanced Advanced Calling feature. That’s it.

[SOLVED] Looking for a "Reliable" Call & SMS Reminder App

I'm Looking for a call & SMS reminder app that really works, even after my Nexus 5X goes into deep sleep and on battery.
Have found many threads, many comments, many apps -- but not found one that really works in all situations. They all claim more or less the same, but in real-life testing, they frequently don't remind when the phone sleeps or when it's on battery. Don't need a reminder for email, notification, or anything else.
Simple or complicated. Paid or free. Root or not. I don't care as long at it's reliable.
Any suggestions? Have I overlooked a 'gem'?

Have you searched with the term 'repeat notifications'? I remember seeing an option like that in an app or a ROM. May have been Textra. Ill look...

I've searched, seen marvelous reviews, and tried numerous apps ..... they all talk big and don't perform.
I'm hoping some user has truly found a real-life performer.
About Textra SMS: This might work better, but I would prefer to use the stock messenger if at all possible. Thanks.

Maybe you could cook something up in Tasker? Or maybe one of the other automation apps?
This maybe?

If you don't already have Tasker, I can test it for you. Although it is a handy app sometimes.

If you want to test, that would be great. It needs to continue to run after the phone deep sleeps while on battery. Who knows, when active maybe it will prevent deep sleep. That would be oK too. One more reason for me to respond

Looks like it might have to prevent the phone from dozing.
I'll give it a try.

Thanks @PiousInquisitor. I checked out Tasker. It appears to be full of capabilities and from what I've discovered, capable of solving my problem. But to be honest - I'm not ready to learn yet another programming language. I'll pass.
FYI: I tried Prof Reminder and I like it -- but just this morning it failed to remind for a missed text until I first woke up the phone.

The Tasker thing I linked to earlier didn't work for me.
For the other app, have you turned off battery optimization for it? It shouldn't doze with that off.
Settings > Battery > three dot menu > Battery optimization > All apps (from the drop down menu)

Thanks. You might be a life-saver. Messed around in Battery optimization but never tried "All apps" and the ability to 'un-optimize' an app. Now, I've got my fav "Prof Reminder" unoptomized. Will test a couple of days to confirm.
Update: Confirmed. Working perfectly with minimal battery drain.
Update2: When deep-sleeping, it will fail to wake up. Works fine as soon as I wake up the phone and enter pwd.
Update3: V2.02 resolves dozing issues with 6.0.1
