He means that the rom you are using, had been built by him, unofficially, some added tweaks I guess, but him. If you download pacrom from the official pacrom site and install it, you will get Ota updates.

I'm seeing the latest nightly but when I choose download, every attempt fails. Yes I've verified that I have data access
I'd like to do the updates so I don't have to backup/wipe/flash/restore. I'm running the 4/14 nightly if that helps to determine why the OTA update is failing.
I looked at the changelog and it says, someone changed something, someone removed something and someone tweaked something

[Q] [Honest curiosity] About updates and AOSP

If there's already source for 4.0.3 why don't devs (whom i'll always not thanks enough for their work) makes an update? Only Google can make an incremental update and we need a full AOSP rom ?
? There are 4.0.3 roms
all the main roms i see in the dev section are 4.0.3
Sorry if i wasn't clear enough.
I mean: i'm on stock 4.0.1 and i don't want to wipe now. Isn't there a way to make an incremental update 4.0.3 instead of flashing an entire rom?
Also as a Nexus device, wasn't one of the benefits that Google would put out the updates very quickly?
They have 4.0.3 just sitting there, is there any reason why they're not putting it out?
The 4.0.3 roms are based off from the uncompiled 4.0.3 source that google releases to the public, which developers can compile and test their apps on.
As for your 4.0.1, is your device a yakju, or jakjuux? Check with the GN checker app on the market. If its jakjuux, it wont be updated until samsung says so, meanwhile if you are running jakju, you should be able to go to 4.0.2, which has been released as an OTA through google. Hope this helps.

I'm yakju bu you didn't get my point or neither i'm not explaining what it could be only my imagination. BUT
If the source code it's released why it can't be a 6/10/20 mb packet that can upgrade my system like a FOTA update can do ?
Because 4.0.3 has some bugs that needs to be fixed. The 4.0.3 OTA was released for Nexus S then pulled because of the bugs it was having.
You think if it was ready, they'd release it. Give it time, people are so ungrateful when 95% of the Android Community are still on Android 2.3.X and below.
If you want it so badly, flash a custom ROM with 4.0.3 on it. If you don't want to, then you can't really complain.

You don't need to! It's plenty of stock untouched AOSP roms and modified.
What i'm asking is:
is there an unofficial small update that will bring 4.0.3 to my GN that i can flash in recovery ? Not the full rom!

You could always just compile it yourself with "make otapackage", that will give you exactly what you're asking for.

Finally an on-topic answer! Why aren't those updates around ? Do i miss something ?
No, you didn't "miss" anything. It's just that most people who are going to take the time to setup a build environment are doing so to tinker with the source -- not just build a vanilla package. Either way, its not terribly difficult to setup and build -- especially with all the guides floating around XDA.

That's not strictly true. The 'OTA' package you make when compiling the ROM from source is still a complete ROM as opposed to a small OTA update
It won't require a system wipe and will apply just like an OTA, which is what (I'm assuming) the OP wanted.

It is for the i9505, as the difference between T-Mobile and international is the lib files. I am doing the same thing victorator is currently doing with cm10 nightlies. As victorator is not compiling from source but creating a ported build from the T-Mobile.

[ROM-AOSPA] [JB 4.3] ParanoidAndroid 3.99 [Toroplus] 31-AUG-2013

ParanoidAndroid for AOSP 4.3 (JSS15J/JWR66V)
NOTE: The 3.94+ builds switched from the stock kernel to the r390 franco kernel. This fixes the 180 degee compass orientation problem on Toroplus.
Work in Progress
Please make sure you have backups for anything you don't want to lose.
Caution is advised. No promises this will not eat your device and take over your home.
Google apps are not official, these have PA Specific change, we have tested all apps but you could still encounter issues.
If you have an issue please make sure it is repeatable, capture logcat/dmesg, etc and post to pastebin or similar.
Installation
Update your recovery to the latest version. Pre 4.2 recoveries can mess up your sd card/storage. We recommend TWRP.
Download pa google apps: From GOO Updated 22-AUG-2013
Download rom: From GOO Updated 31-AUG-2013
Follow PA on Google+ for changes and other info
Perform a factory reset in recovery, unless you are already on PA 3.94+ (or if you run into problems)
Flash ROM first, then gapps
Wipe dalvik & cache
Reboot and wait, first bootup can take a little time
Enter your Google account info, press home when you encounter the black screen
Please do not restore system apps, system data and Google apps. This can cause bootloops and other problems due to mismatches coming from CM to AOSP and moving from Android version 4.1.2 to 4.2 to 4.3

Radio Version?
Nice work jaybob413!
GPS seems to be fine on today's 3.92 beta release.
Is my radio version (L700.05 V.GA02 / L700.GA02) as it should be for this 4.3 release?
It looks very similar to my previous radio from Crossbones 2.3.3. which was based off 4.2.2.
Maybe it changed but I did not notice
Thanks!

Instructions
0. You need a recovery that supports SELinux. I'm told that recent versions of CWM support it, but I haven't tried them myself. The best option is the official TWRP 2.7.0.0 release (other recoveries may not be compatible with OpenDelta updates for nightlies).
If you want to flash my recovery, download the recovery.img and flash it using ODIN or Mobile ODIN. You can also use Recovery Tools to flash it from your device
1. Flash the ROM.
2. Flash SuperSU if you want root (it's not yet included in the ROM). I have not tried any other Superuser apps but SuperSU is supposed to be incorporated into Omni eventually. Important: you may need to install a backup script using SuperSU to persist it across flashes - see the settings in SuperSU for that.
3. Flash Kitkat/4.4 compatible Gapps (PA has some that work with this ROM).
1-3 can be queued in TWRP.
4. If coming from a different ROM wipe data/factory reset, otherwise you probably won't boot
Downloads
TWRP 2.7.0.0 official builds are here.
TWRP 2.6.3.1 (unofficial version; the 4th digit is basically just for device specific changes). Use Flashify, Mobile Odin, or Recovery Tools to flash .img files.

You must flash this (or other 4.4 compatible recovery) if you're on the official TWRP 2.6.3.0 or other outdated recoveries, if you get an error about set_metadata_recursive when flashing

Hmm, it's not really possible to do that for frameworks changes like that. I think if there is an xposed module or something for Multiwindow then that may work but I don't know if such a thing exists or if it could actually be done (but that's more likely to work than a flashable zip).

I also wanted to suggest a temporary solution for MultiWindow on the nightlies. I have been using the latest XHaloFloatingWindow KitKat test build, and it works great once you get all the settings right. It's an Xposed mod, so you will have to have that installed and enabled for it to work. Check out the XDA page for that build

Huh, I've noticed that too, I just thought I was going crazy. Not sure why it happens but I feel like it started around the time navbar customization was added, so I should look near that time period. If you can get a screenshot and logcat when it happens could you post it on JIRA? That way we can try to figure out if it's a common bug (check whether it'd already been reported of course).

its a folder in /sdcard/OpenDelta/ and you can place zips there ... see link for templates.
but for supersu you just need to let it install backup-script from inside supersu...
edit: oops, late

edit2: nightlies up again for n801x
