Small portable headphone amp

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with any small headphone amps for use with a cellphone. I need something small, battery or DC powered and relatively cheap. I'm not looking for audiophile quality here, just something to increase the volume in my car with its crappy stock speakers without any distortion.

I agree with this sentiment. I was lucky enough to get them for free when Verizon made a mistake in the mobile app, listing them as free one month. Battery life is awesome. Sound quality is superb!
I would get logitech wired headphones. I have had many böse headphones and for $60, none of them compared. They also have a in line button and mic designed for Android. 5/5 overall

i have the plantronic backbeat 903+ and i like it alot. it's pretty discrete but not invisible. sound quality is decent and it also features this function where it opens the mic to pick up and amplify the surrounding noise if you pause your music so you can hear what's going on.
I got mine on sale for 30 bucks. pretty decent. lasts about 6 hours on continuous music. I also took it out for a run and it didn't jiggle. stayed put and comfy.

I have a broken 903+ too, i think its good until started to use stock headphones. Or maybe we can say wired headphones are better, right? But the functionality of 903+ is superb i think.
Thanks

Can anyone recommend a headphone?

My old Samdung headphones from the S4 don't control volume properly (up, not down) and leak noise on voice calls, so I'm looking for a good set of earbuds that is fully compatible.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I assume you were looking for a wired option, but I've been using the LG tone hbs 700 Bluetooth headphones and really like them. I got it free with a promotional thing at best buy back when I got the lgog (now my wife's phone since I got this). They are a bit different in form factor, but you get used to them to the point that you forget you have them on.

I had seen them, but I was not sure of the quality.
Generally, yes, I was looking for wired, because I tend to think that sound quality woiuld be better and less radio signal headed toward my brain via bluetooth would be preferred.
I appreciate the recommendation and hope others will chime in. Can't believe that there's no headset included in the box by AT&T. Cheap bastards.
Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds are great for like $15.

Look for the Panasonic HJE160.
Hey @donalgodon
Well I can say those $ 15 bucks earbuds are no good if you want somenthing above the average.
Then, you could check out the reviews at headfi.org.
Then, I recommend any of the earbuds from the Hippo line. I personally got a pair of hippo vbs.
They are not that expensive as ultimate ears, for example, and are above the average for sure.
They come from Singapore and can be found at jaben.net
Hope you find what you looking for.

Volume control works like it's supposed to and quickly pressing the vol^ twice will pause/play music. The sound quality is phenomenal especially with Viper4Android. You just can't beat the bass in them (Well.. Maybe the XB800s lol).

I can recommend one in-ear-headphone of maze. They have good quality and sound is also very good
I use the Sony SBH50's with my phone. They're bluetooth/NFC headphones (wireless) and they work great. There's an app you install on your phone that allows you to install extensions that allow you to do all kinds of things like read your text messages to you, count your steps, etc.
They also work with making phone calls too.

I think with Apt-X support Samsung BHS 3000 looks good option.

I was like you skeptical about wireless, until I dig in some research and found that both the Optimus G Pro and the LG HBS-730 both supports APT-X and will connect with APT-X enabled. The sound quality is just incredible for a headset with this price, the sound quality even beat some of the wired headset.

I'm not disagreeing, but just stating my experience.
I bought the HBS-730s twice. The first pair I returned because I thought they were defective. The music (all MP3s and using the stock music app on the previous Jelly Bean firmware) would play just fine, but every minute, the music would cut out for a second then come back.
I returned the pair to Best Buy and got a second set. Same issue, so I returned them too.
I also looked online and there are reports of tons of people having reception problems.
Then I got my Sony set and no problems at all. No changes were done to my phone either. ?

I would pick ttpod T1 (or T1E). T1 is a balanced version and T1E is T1 version with more bass. SM E10 is also a good choice but its treble is a bit too bright in my taste.
Both of them are good for all kind of musics.

Soundmagic E10m (with microphone) earphone compactibility with Moto G?

Has anyone tried Sound magic E10m (with microphone) with the moto G? Does the microphone and control buttons work properly? Does the FM on moto g work well with this earphone?
Thanks in advance
Akhil
Hi, I've tried a different pair of soundmagic phones that I had lying around, the MP21 (a cheaper but mostly adequate headset, and pretty expendable at this price).
Mic and button works fine, so I would assume the same for the e10.
However do note that there is a chance you'll notice some background noise when playing music, as the E10 have an impedance of 16 Ohm and many users noticed some issues with headphones that have impedances lower than 32 Ohm.
(Thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611599)
(You can always see the impedance of a headphone in the packaging or the detailed product information)
To be fair, the hiss is only apparent in silence. You won't hear any background hiss during playback (or rather, the music far outweighs it, to the point where only the nitpicky are deterred).

Yeah I saw that post. E10 has an impedance of 16 ohms. I am confused now. What should I do now? Should I go for this or a cheaper one that matches the impedence?

[Q] Which headset works best with Asus Zenfone 2?

Hello guys,
I am searching for headphones (on the ear or over the ear model, preferably with mic). Please recommend headphones under price tag Rs. 2000 (30-35 USD) and should be available in India.
Thanks in advance!
We really need a compatible list of headsets that work with ZF2.
Since the volumes button used for changing tracks and volume are at the back they are best to operate only when being used with a hand and not so much for music listening.
I just tested Mi In Ear Headphone [Model ID:ZBW4122IN ].
Using the MUSIC app : Play, Vol+, Vol- and Next track works fine.
Calling : Big button switches microphone ON or OFF. Vol+ and Vol- work fine.

My Mi Phones(over the ear/on ear) work fine as well.
A Jays Five for Android are working well for me. But the app that goes with them is not so great (it works, but has limited functionality).
Headset Button Controller is better.
RIF6 Bluetooth headphones work well for me. They also have NFC for pairing, and the right headphone is a touchpad for controlling volume and forward/back. There's a microphone too, but I haven't tried that yet.

Best headphones I've owned
Hello there,, I've been buying and trying in ear headphones and I think that Symphonized is the best one around for the price you're aiming. Better than Xiaomi, Skull Candy, Sony, Beats, LG and pretty close to Sol Republic at a fraction of the price. You can find those in Amazon. Also you. Can try Asus Zenfone 2 headphones. They're pretty good and cheap. Both Asus and Symphonized have mics and on/off button.

Actually I think that wood makes all the difference. The reverberance it naturally creates manages to give a very nice audio. I now that they may not be a reknown company or be the best of the best, but for 20 USD I think they will astonish anyone. Just check the reviews on Amazon. Hope this helps! :good:
