HTC Blinkfeed on my GNexus! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I know most of you don't care about HTC "bloatware" and you probably think Sense would be an abomination on any Nexus device, but I am a huge Blinkfeed fan and I was able to install it by following the instructions listed here:
http://thebookofsarah.blogspot.com/2014/04/blinkfeed-apk-download-and-instalation.html
Couple of bugs still, weather icon isn't working for me and Facebook sync seems a bit off.
I really just wanted it for the news so it works perfectly for me.
Edit: Weather icon working now!

well if you have seen many vidoes how to do it then wheres the problem ?
the problem is i follow what they do and it doesn't work i think the problem is that it doesn't actually have home installed on it i've looked thru all of the applications and its not there is there anyway to install it?
Why would you get a desire and NOT a nexus one if you don't like sense?
Find Launcher.apk, Launcher2.apk or one of the launcher replacements in the market (ahome, openhome, home++) and install them to replace the sense homescreen.

You could try installing Launcher2.apk from Nexus One. Some people report it working fine on their phones. It didn't work for me though. Maybe I had the wrong APK.

Complete Android noob here please explain
In overly simplified terms, Sense UI is HTC's home screen, where as Launcher2 is Google's home screen for N1.
All programs on Android come in APK files. That's like a CAB installer on WinMo.
So all you need to do is search Nexus One forum for Launcher2.apk, download it on your phone and install it. Then when you press home button, it will ask you which home to launch. Choose Android home (or something similar) instead of Sense UI, but DON'T make it default just yet as it might not work.
If it does, next time you can make it default an voila - you have yourself a "Nexus One".
Though Sense UI will still be running, so you don't really save any memory or anything.
I have posted in this forum how to turn of Sense on the Desire. Search 'How to turn of HTC Sense' or something.
Since in that clip there was ACTUALLY a Desire being used, it should work. From what I remember:
Go to settings, all programs, search HTC Sense, turn it off.

i've just downloaded launcher2.apk and now just to finish this phone call then i'm gonna test this out will report back. i feel like a crash test dummy lol
You could also try to install the Helixlauncher2 app from the Nexus One forum. It's a modified Nexus One launcher2 with a lot more features. I already made a thread in the Desire Themes and Apps forum since I'm curious whether it works flawlessly or not on the Desire. Maybe you can crash test that launcher too?
ok default launcher 2 doesn't work gonna try the other one mentioned now

[Q]is it possible to use HTC Mail Widget on the launch pro +?

Flashed fresh 3.2.0.0 roms, sweet roms so far, except for one problem here. I didn't find HTC Mail Widget in the "Add to the home screen" menu. I was wondering if there were any way I can make that widget showing on the launch pro+? If so, how should I do it? really appreciate it.
HTC widgets can only be used with sense UI
Swyped on my EVO
Launcher pro does not work with sense widgets like the one you are trying.
Are you sure it is missing? I'm running Fresh 3.2 and the widget is there. I guess it is possible that something went wrong with the install but if that is the case try ref lashing.
If it still doesn't show, post again and I'll send the apk to you.

Anyone have a clock for AOSP that works like the sense one?

I have been looking for a clock that is like the stock sense one that has alarms and timer and stop watch all included haven't been able to find one for a AOSP rom would like to find a sense based clock that works with AOSP rom that has all the goodies with it. Only thing thats stopping me from wanting to use a AOSP rom all the time. I like the senseless roms but its a pain to find something that may work until it boot loops sucks. Anyone know of any i have checked out the clock forums on here but all they seem to be is fancy clock widgets. So can anyone point me into the right direction. Thanks I am pretty familiar with APK files..

I'm using the Weather & Toggle widget on my hero and using it asa my EVO comes in. It's almost exactly like the stock one and there's skin downloads to match it exactly. I paid for mine because it's worth the couple bux bud, seriously. I don't buy many apps, just help out the devs but this one was a no brainer for AOSP roms.

I'd use AOSP roms in a heartbeat if I could get this too. Can never find a keyboard as good as the HTC one either.

Ya i am likeing cm7 tho the keyboard sucks its a pain to use. The clocks out there are not as good sense based one. Hope someone can fix that. The roms to have dried up not to many people are making anything new. I like evo based roms not ports. If your really want a port go get the phone in my opinion. Im like konies rom elite 3 battery life isnt good on stock kernel the clock doesnt suit me trying to replace it.

Sense replacements
I am on ASOP now and have really missed a lot of Sense stuff since switching to Cyanogen 6 a few months ago.
I have used a number of stopwatch apps and don't really like any of them.
I am using TouchPal, beacuse I don't like the stock dialer, but am not crazy about TouchPal.
I am using SwiftKey as a keyboard, which I do really like a lot.
I use Beautiful Widget's: Super Clock. Its the best thing next to sense. Plus you can change up the skins faster than you do your socks!
Also I use Swift Keyboard. It looks similar to the touch input plus its crazy convenient!
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Ehh, I just want the time and an alarm lol. W&T widget defaults to the stock clock, which has an alarm so that's cool. The KB is garbage though you're right. Many months ago when I was on Sense roms with my Hero I was using the AOSP-voice keyboard but now I'm on Better Keyboard 8. My EVO should be in tomorrow and I'm guessing that just the meire size of the phone should make ANY keyboard easier to use lol. The Hero landscape is just a little too small for my big fingers.

Check out HD Widgets. It's on app store for a small amount but is well worth it and it looks great. It has lots of clock widget sizes and styles, with or without weather and is highly customisable.

Notifications in Lockscreen?

I've been using my iphone for the last few months but have recently decided to go back to my trusty old HOX. The problem is I've forgotten how to get facebook and twitter notifications to pop up on the lockscreen as they appear in real time. I can't even remember if they ever did do this, but I'm sure I remember something along those lines.
In ios7 the tweets and fb conversations pop up and light up the screen so you can just glance at your phone to see what's going on without actually turning it on. Is it possible in android? I noticed the social networking lockscreen option has disappeared, this might be what I was thinking of.
I'm using sense ARHD latest version, would consider flashing AOKP/CM to get this feature if it's possible.
Thanks.

Thanks, they are already syncing I just want the notification to come up on the lock screen.
I thought maybe there was a setting somewhere I'd forgotten about but now I don't think it's possible, at least not natively.
I might look into 3rd party lockscreens. If I find a solution I'll post here in case anyone else is interested.

If you use ViperX rom, you can add applications on a one-by-one basis in their tweaks for the lockscreen. It comes up a little differently than normal Productivity sense 5 alerts, but I think that should be more what you're looking for.

Htc sense 7 launcher for s6/s6 edge

HTC SENSE 7 LAUNCHER FOR S6/S6 EDGE
Ok guys, so far this is just a base for a project, currently my device doesn't have root, therefore I'm doing what i can without. Therefore here is the sense 7 launcher working that can be installed on your Galaxy S6/Edge. Install both APK'S
Once/IF we get root i can definitely get things working better. However, in the meantime, when placing widgets you can jut tap them, and move them later.

Non of the edge functions are lost, I see the "people pull tab", the colored people light when you get a call, and night clock are all working.
I installed apps bar and that too works.
I came from a HTC one M7 and Blinkfeed was the one thing that made me reluctant to leave HTC but now...
I have the best hardware (if you ask me) and the absolute best GUI.
It works just fantastic even without root. Great and thanks. I love blinck feed the only thing i missed on my edge.

Thanks for the update. I am switching from the M7 to the Edge as well... I really like blink feed. :highfive:
Does facebook/twitter/instagram work within blinkfeed?
@klubhead
Yes, on blinkfeed the facebook for sense run on my s6 edge, i tried the google+ plugins, but i have a problem with autentification , twitter not tested.
i can't publish screenshoot, i no have enought post for this
Tried to instal the apks. Everything worked perfectly. However even if I used to like HTC software, I find that Samsung did a great work with Touchwizz on the s6. I find touchwizz way more classy now !
Anyway thanks for the tip !
When running sense on my galaxy edge s6, is there a way to disable touch wiz completely? I have the notion, it is running in the back all the time... Does this hurt the battery?
---------- Post added at 07:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:16 AM ----------
Another one: How can I make the weather widget completely transparent as it appears on my M7?
This is actually really nice on my edge, the layout of the news feeds are great, good job op.
I own the edge 64 GB and I can say that I am very happy with HTC sense from this source:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/htc-blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438
With blink feed, which is just a great news hub (much better than Flipboard), the launcher is clutter free and working great... could not be happier...
I am coming from an HTC one m7 and I could not become a fried of touch wiz... Though I wish, HTC sense could show an index for unread messages and had the 3D background effect of touch wiz...
