Cordova in to existing app - Web App Development

Developing for someone who has an app built by someone else and we now have that original native code. Clients wants some additional functionality that would be better suited to UIwebview (due to frequent changes) but also wants to be able to talk to camera etc. Would it be possible to build new sections in Cordova and integrate to existing xcode developed native code? I know phonegap creates a final package so I'm just referring to Cordova.

We can do but its kind of hacky thing running a part of project in native nd next part in Phonegap. I dnt recommend this

Wanting to make Android Apps

Hey Folks!
So I'm wanting to develop Android Apps and I was told that I can program using JavaScript, but the tutorials I'm finding are using Java as their language. So far this is the best tutorial I have found to help me get setup so I can start, but the Eclipse program only seems to program using java instead of JavaScript... am I wrong?

I could use some helpful links about how to create a helloworld app for Android in Javascript, thanks!
+1 i have always been curious on how to develop apps.
Check your local magazine rack. There is a development magazine with a sdk disk and some good articles with code to start android software development.
I just picked it up last night its very informative.
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......

Well I finally found out that there's an open programming structure called PhoneGap and Titanium, allowing you to use your HTML and JavaScript to create android apps. Apparently they convert the scripts into the native app, but I"m not 100% about it. I'm not sure how affective it is to running a native app.
i have no coding experiance, so i might need to take some high school code classes or something first. sounds like fun.
What about this for starters

Can some solve my problem

I have an app called mini diary and i decided to make a daily diary entry on my phone to practoce typing on it.
The problem is that there is a 1000 character limit. This sucks cause well i like writing diary entries the size of small essays so it takes 2-3 entries just to write what i want to.
Can some one modify the app to get rid of the character limit or atleast in crease it to atleast 2500

I may be a complete noob to decompiling and building an apk, looking through all the xml never do the specific numbers pop up for the apk

Have you tried emailing the developer?

I've had hands-on experience on C++, I'm sure Java doesn't differ too much. However, I don't have a laptop snappy enough to handle the android sdk & eclipse software, also, unless decompiling the apk puts it back to full source code, to my knowledge, it isn't as simple as an xml edit, HOWEVER it doesn't make much more difficult either, you just search through the code for the proper class that contains such information in limit, or perhaps another terminology used by its creator/dev and once found, you change its values to meet your needs, and then recompile. This however should be emailed to the dev, and if its something you want to tackle for yourself, (which anyone can for this type of edit)legally speaking, you should contact the dev for permission to make such modifications to his/her app, (unless his work is opensource then you're ok) otherwise, he's protected by any type of reverse engineering, aka decompiling.
I think the dev is sammy

[APP][Open-Source] SKU Kernel Remote [Configure ANY Kernel]

Realizing I could offer support for virtually any device, this thread has moved:

I should also note that this application is open-source. When the idea came to develop a cross-kernel application, there were none that provide source. Even worse, most kernels that endorse a specific app no longer document methods to modify the settings without using the app, or the documentation is extremely stale. Keeping everything open-source serves the purpose of allowing others that wish to contribute a chance to submit updates, but also serves as a reference for how the kernels are actually configured.

That should be fixed up. A lot of changes were made to that layout.
This app is now backed by ScriptFusion, which recently received a pretty substantial overhaul intended for rerelease. Instead the platform now backs the kernel portion of this app to provide a powerful modification and tweak system that would require multiple apps to rival. Cheers!

it has some sort of additions related to the new functionality for restricting user access to Google Play. I suspect this is used in multi-user situations, where the primary user doesn't want secondary ones to be able to install things, but I haven't been able to confirm it just yet on the Nexus 7. Maybe there is a new menu that shows up in Android 4.3...
Another theory proposed by commenter Markus is that it's possible that this new functionality is meant for restricting Play Store's usage on devices that aren't licensed to use it and don't come with it pre-installed, which would... suck, though I don't see how Google could enforce it.
There is a new Activity called com.google.android.finsky.activities.AccessRestrictedActivity and this related new string:

use google places api for all queries. docs of it are pretty easy to understand.also plot the map using directions api.
How excactly? If you dont mind giving me a little insight into the matter

Are you using the Javascript API, or the Android one?
If you are using the Javascript API, you can use the Places API as suggested by jaison. You can find an example here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/places-searchbox
Hi,
I recently released an open source app that might help you using the google maps api.
Please check github.com/zland
You can get instructions on how to use google maps api by looking into the sub project zland-map (github.com/zland/zland-map).
To run the project simply clone it and execute gulp (you can find detailed instructions in the github.com/zland/zland-map/README.md)
Take a closer look into the file components/GoogleMap.jsx
For using the google maps api directions service clone the project github.com/zland/zland-generator-spot and look into the file services/RouteRequestDispatcher.js
