You need to download/flash cf-autoroot using Odin for root access.
Here is the download link: http://download.chainfire.eu/354/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hltetmo-hltetmo-smn900t.zip
This zip file also contains Odin, so just unzip all files to a new folder in windows and odin flash
the cf-autoroot TAR file, reboot the phone and your good to go.
Good luck!

How did your rooting go? Success?

Galaxy nexus 4.0.4 build IMM30d root

I could use some help so I don't brick my phone. I have done a search or two on how to root this particular build and it's probably me - I don't think I have found any information to my question. On xda there was info on the superboot method from modaco that it only worked on ICS4.0.1. The GNex toolkit v7 does not have build IMM30d included. I purchased the phone from Google play and received it late last week. Is this build supported by any root method mentioned? Or will anyone link me to a method that supports the build?
My signature will get you running in a jiffy, sir.

Don't use toolkits. It's not that there is anything inherently bad with them, but having a program do everything for you without understanding how it is doing it means that you don't know how to fix anything if something goes wrong. It's better to do things manually and learn how everything works before taking the easy way through it.
Haha, alright. This is in the Q&A section and I'm sure as hell no developer. I'm coming from a mytouch4g. Had to use adb to downgrade from gingerbread to froyo to root it. Even after reading it over a couple times the directions were still intimidating. It looked like an easy option. Appreciate the input though.
I'll reiterate what others said...
You'll want to know that adb and fastboot are set up correctly, anyway.
They're EXTREMELY useful in countless situations.
I promise you that it'll be an easy process.

HA. sorry. if you are still willing to help real quick... the command 'adb reboot bootloader' brought up a bubble installing device driver.. android 1.0.. failed to install driver. I had already had the drivers installed. Idea?
Most likely, if you connect you device to Wi-Fi, it will receive an OTA update -- I think IMM76 (blanking on build number).

The driver needs to install TWICE: once when your device is booted normally, and once when booted into the bootloader.
I'm having a problem using juba's rooting method. It won't go into recovery mode. I'm using the same android and build as the fellow poster. Any help? It's just sticking on the google word with the unlock thing at the bottom when I try to reboot into recovery from the bootloader.
Hold down vol+ and vol- and turn the phone on. When the menu comes up, select recovery.

[Q] unlock lock screen

has anyone here been able to unlock a pin locked screen? I changed my pin and forgot it. I own this Sprint galaxy S3, i can verify that with a sprint rep and account. How can I unlock the screen without a hard reset?
No, I dont get the option to enter my gmail account to unlock.

one youtube video shows using a site calld FGM service and for a fee, if you give them your IME number they will unlock the phone. Anyone here tried this before or know about this service?
I would not give any info to anyone, if it were me. As for other ways, I dont know of any but the method in the link above worked for me when I tested it on my sisters S3
Just throwing this out there no idea if it will work but I'm guessing it would if worse comes to worse. Flash the a stock or rooted tar in Odin from freeza.

You're in luck, my friend. Our mighty qbking77 has created a set of videos with just what you need in his thread over here. They are easy to follow. The main thread on how to root is here. Just watch and read all you can before starting, and make sure not to use international ROMs on your Sprint phone (this causes a hard-brick and many facepalms here on XDA)

Question, I got into the "Android system recovery <3e>" menu and the back-up option is not listed.....
Is there another way to back-up? or am I out of luck and have to do a hard reset from same menu?

BIG Noob Questions
Hi, I am unfamiliar with Samsung Phones. I currently have a LG phone without all this stuff about variants. I have a Rogers phone but I am unlocking it to run on Telus. That said can I run a Telus rooted firmware? Or does it not really matter what firmware is on the phone. Is it worth while to update the radio?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for any answers that you can give.

DMF1977, I tried your way. I downloaded Odin and root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar. As soon as I loaded the root66 file, I didn't even get a chance to hit start, both times Odin froze. Then I saw "Check MD5....Do not unplug the cable...Please wait". I had no choice but to shut my phone down because Odin froze and wasn't doing anything. I tried it twice. Then after I unplugged and shut my phone down I saw this in the box " root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar.md5 is valid. Checking MD5 finished successfully. Leave CS..."
I remember last year having a problem with Odin conflicting with something on my laptop when I rooted my Captivate. I ended up having to root it a different way.

Knox is stepping in and messing with you; you will want to download and then flash the latest SuperSU zip from here:
http://download.chainfire.eu/381/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.91.zip
Then boot back into system the SuperSU app should be in your app drawer. Open it, allow it to disable Knox, and then proceed to update the binaries. You should be golden after that. Make sure to give @Chainfire a huge thanks while you're at it.

Essentially rooting only consists of two things on the Sprint (and also therefore Virgin Mobile and Boost, all three are SPH-L710) SGS3: installing a custom recovery via Odin, and then using that recovery to flash the SuperSU zip file. My friend @goku2778 has done a nice job putting all the info and links in one easy to use thread.

Yes, GO BRONCOS, thanks @Jessooca for getting that started. I've been a Peyton Manning fan since he played at Tennessee. I've come to be quite familiar with indiana. Manning is a great guy and always has been known to be to all his fans. His children's hospital he spent 40 million dollars to build is one of the top 5 in the nation. Class act guy.
Now let's hope no one freaking kidnaps Denver's defense as their pass coverage team is atrocious. Manning gets them huge leads and that group of Yahoo's on defense stops for coffee at Starbucks or who knows where they vanish to.
It's going to be a thriller like the Giants over the Patriots Superbowl.

If your willing to try this on any other phones please comment and let others know. Make/model of the phone for starters.
If you will explain your steps taken also would help others out very much! THANK !!!
I received the SPH-L710T after making an insurance claim. I originally had the SPH-L710. Anyway, all I have done so far was use ODIN to install the latest .TAR FILE from
Philz Recovery thread:---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 (only custom recovery I recommend to use period) BIG THANK YOU TO PHIL! You can check Philz Recovery out for yourself and how to root this device. I'm not going through the whole thing on how to root and so on. So, I am pretty much running the STOCK ROM that came on the phone straight out the box, [BOOST MOBILE]-[NF4]-[4.4.2]. I did ROOT w/ Philz Recovery very simple. Please make sure you take your time and read directions.
This is CONFIRMED to work on SPH-l710T running the STOCK ROM out of the box but ROOTED and I have Philz Recovery once again. I used SPCUtility.apk to finally get my MSL/SPC that I been reading about the past 4 days and couldn't get it till NOW!!! I attached the SPCUtility.apk for you to download. It did work for me. Took me days of searching till I came across a old post I tried so many different ways its ridiculous.
I ran the SPCUtility.apk and it gave me my MSL(SPC) number with out problem! (FOR WHATEVER REASON WHEN YOU LOOK IN YOUR APP DRAW THE APPS NAME IS MSL UTILITY and the icon is a picture of a lock. Open the MSL UTILITY and hit the Read SPC button. You might want write it down. You want to change your APN TYPE now.... Follow these directions to the T. This was is very easy! By adding the following ",Dun" fixed my hotspot(of course without the quotations) It was very simple. I had to find the APN TYPE option but once I found it, it was a text box and all I had to add was ,Dun and hit ok. REBOOTED and it work that easy! . AGAIN follow this EXACTLY and you should have no problems finding the APN type option.
GUIDE FOR GETTING YOUR HOTSPOT TO WORK:
STEP 1: Download the attached file named SPCUtility.apk to phone or EXTsd card. Now install it. Go to your apps and run the MSL Utility app that you downloaded. Click the Read SPC button and write it down. (icon for the app is a lock)
STEP 2: Okay so Go to dial pad and type ##3282# (##DATA#) and hit EDIT then enter the MSL/SPC number you wrote down from STEP 1.
STEP 3: Next go to MORE and select it...
STEP 4: Scroll down to LTEAPN SETTINGS and select it.
STEP 5: Select APN2 LTE internet. Scroll about half way down and select APN type and add ,Dun and select OK.
REBOOT AND PROFIT !!!
ENJOY
Please hit THANK YOU button if I was of any HELP TO YOU!
It would be very appreciated! This took a lot of time and research to get this working. I couldn't find anything on a working HOTSPOT. Only info I could find was paying for an app from the play store. Well in this case its completely FREE !
Please leave some comments or a simple reply!

So anybody else try this out??? I would love to get some feedback for others. Im seeing alot of views but no replys..... Wow this was huge for me. I was so excited to have my HOTSPOT back and working finally. Since i got this tri-band phone i thought i was gonna have to run sprints software to get my HOTSPOT working but that was not true. Some replys would be nice. I love and enjoy XDA very much. Such a great community!

Your phone is rooted correct?
Also if your phones prepaid be careful cause i get messages tht i have reach my data limits. I dont know if it would burn up your money fast using the hotspot or not cause im with boost and I get a message that my data limit has been reached and i notice my speed is a lil bit slower after that. Would hate for you to use it and run threw all your money and it be cut off with lack of funds. I pay month to month plan with boost mobile

@covergeek you can try using odin and flash the NF4 stock .tar file. Then flash the philz recovery .tar and root it again. Its very simple. Look around the threads for the stock NF4 .tar and go from there..... just a thought. It will deff give you the hotspot option in settings under your connections tab. I attached the screenshot. Follow the directions in the thread on the NF4 .tar to make sure you do it right. Might wanna ask questions first to make sure. Im positive someone will assist you with any questions you might have before committing to the NF4 build. Then try my guide
Cool..thanks for the info..

No problem bro. Anything i can do to help. Once you get either NF4 build or ND8. USE my hotspot thread and its sure to work! Rooting once you odin philz recovery is super easy. I even added the superuser update file in case its needed. Just flash the updated supersu thru recovery and you should be good to go. It will do its thing and reboot. Make sure to download busybox and supersu by chainfire. Thats what work for me. I had a problem at first but flashed the UPDATED SUPERSU file and that did the trick. Also download root checker. That will confirm you have root.

Im sure it will. Follow the guide. You wanna find that option APN TYPE. Not 100 percent on if your menu is exactly like mine but im 99 percent sure it will be. Once you go for it let me know either post it here or pm me. If you need any help during the process please ask for help. Its very handy if you have a pc to communicate during the process. It will make it easier for me to help if you run into any confusion.... Also please reply and give feedback for others that might come across the same thing as you do. Im pretty sure it will be the same as my guide explains...
Also its very easy to root these phones. I recommend using ODIN and flash Philz Recovery .tar file in the PDA slot. Uncheck auto reboot and other option. Once you get the green pass sign. Disconnect phone, pull battery and enter recovery mode. There a option to root phone in the menu. Very easy. There is alot of helpful guides here to look at. Good luck to ya. Pay attention to them. You need to flash the 4.4. Know as the kitkat bootloader if you upgrading. Depending on what you are already running on your phone.

After you (re)root with Philz, install/update SuperSU via play store.

Have you went to the playstore and downloaded busybox by stericson and SuperSU by chainfire???? Thats a must. After you download them try recovery mode and re root. Check the option the verify root on exit. If that still does not work try installing the SuperSU-UPDATE that I attched to this post and install it thru recovery.
Well crazy thing I had it. After reboot it everytime I lost root n superuser. I downloaded superuser n after reboot it gone n my root gone.
