2.5 D Nexus 5 Tempered Glass Screen Protector - Nexus 5 Accessories

Hi folks,
I don't post very often but I just got my 2.5 D screen protector from www.dx.com (SKU 292915) and it's great so I'll do a review of it.
Product Summary:
Brand: 2.5 D
Price: $9.60
Ordered From: DealExtreme
Material: Tempered Glass
Thickness: 0.2mm
Screen Type: Glossy
Pros:
Premium packaging
Guide stickers for the hinge method
Dust removal kit (alcohol cloth, normal cloth and dust sticker)
Rounded edges
9H Hardness (survived a key scratch test)
Touch screen not affected
Only 0.2mm thick
Easy application
Cons:
Grey lines in top-left corner
Instructions not very easy to read
Weird typos on the front
Extended Review:
First of all, the packaging. The packaging is above average for stuff from DX so that's nice. On the front there's just information about the product with 2 typos.

Inside the package you'll find an alcohol cloth, a normal cloth, 3 guide stickers for the hinge method, a dust removal sticker and of course the screen protector itself, which is packed separately.
The screen protector itself feels just like real glass. According to DX the protector is 0.2mm thick so that's pretty thin. The separate packaging of the protector has some Chinese and English application instructions, which are not very easy to read, but it's also not hard to do so. The instructions are calling the protector a "GLAS.t R" (like the Spigen one) instead of just a protector.
The cutouts are very well placed, if not perfectly. The protector is almost covering the entire screen, just a gap of 0.5mm so that you can use it with some cases. It works well with my hard plastic Nillkin case. Application goes very easy; clean phone, place it, lock in place with guide stickers, take the plastic layer off, lay it on your screen, touch the middle, press any other bubbles out.
There are some grey lines under the top left corner. If I push that corner, they will go away for a short amount of time. I don't know what it is, but it isn't dust.
The touch screen is not affected by the protector and I don't notice a difference in brightness; the screen is just as clear as without the protector on it.
This protector doesn't scratch easily, it survived a real life key test!
Review Summary: (Scale from 1 to 5)
Overall Rating: 4.5
Price: 5
Quality: 4.5
Ease of use: 5
Usefulness: 5
I hope this is a good first review, please comment whether you're about to buy one or not!

PDair Ultra Clear Screen Protector Review [PHOTOS]

Today i got my PDair ultra clear screen protector.
I got it because i needed a screen protector and i didn't find the spigen flex HD on amazon until a day after i placed my order, so i got this.
It comes in a small plastic bag, nothing fancy, inside you get ONE protector (i thought there would be at least 2 but i was wrong), a cleaning cloth, a "soft card" aka piece of plastic to squeeze out air bubbles and the obligatory instructions demonstrating how to apply on the iphone (the front "selling" image is also of an iphone).
It's a dry application protector with two layers to peel off.
I should warn you so you don't make my mistake, the protector, once you remove the "step one" protective layer is EXTREMELY electrostatic. It picked up dust from the surrounding table like there was no tomorrow. So now i've got a bit of dust under my protector, but it's nothing serious, though it may bother some people.
It applies very nicely, this is my first screen protector ever and i managed to get it on the first time with no bubbles in the middle.
The sides and edges have some bubbles but i think thats just from the dust, or i didn't apply it correctly.
The protector itself is invisible, except for the edges of the plastic, and it's a bit harder to swipe now it's on, like it's a bit sticky.
Maybe that will wear off over time, will update this post if it does. It still collects fingerprints and smudges, but it's just a little bit better than without the protector.
It offers good protection, and fingernails do not leave a mark, neither does rubbing metal on it, though very sharp objects do leave a mark. (see last picture, i tested it with the sharp end of a screwdriver and pushed quite hard. It does scratch but the screen beneath is OK)
One more thing , it does not cover the whole screen, on the top and bottom there is about 3mm of glass to the edge, and on the sides it goes to the curved part. I use the case mate tough case so it does not bother me.
And thats it, pics below, any questions ask me and i will try to answer.

Protects screen from daily scratches, dust, scrapes, and normal signs of wear
Attaches smoothly with self-adhering surface, leaves no residue when removed
Includes: 3x Screen Protector, Micro-Fiber Cleaning Cloth, Squeeze Card
First, The screen protectors were in a nice stiff card board packaging. This protects it from bends during shipping. This is a nice change from the usual screen protectors I order off ebay thats in a simple envolope and sometimes comes bent.
The accessories are of good quality. The microfiber is better than the ones I usually get with screen protectors. It's grey, decent in size and has a good feel to it. It's tons better than the pink, blue or yellow cheapies that come with other screen protectors. (You know the microfiber sheets I'm talking about, we all got one of those before), It also comes with a squeegee and lint remover/hinge stickers. The lint remover/hinge stickers are meant for any dust you can see on the screen before applying or used as a hinge for applying the film.
Also for the first timers in applying a screen protector; it has step by step directions for best results. There are instructions for 2 methods. Hinge method (what the stickers are for) and regular method.
It has cutouts for the camera, ear piece speaker and light sensors. They are cut and aligned correctly. This being said it is a little difficult to get an absolute perfect alignment of all three since the "remove tab 1 here" is at the bottom of the protector. This means that you need to apply the bottom first on the phone and aligning the 3 at the top is a little difficult. There are 3 protectors so thats good if you mess up once or twice.
The film is definitely clear, no rainbow effects, no loss of touch sensitivity and not too sticky when swiping my finger across it. When removing the second film on the protector, it is quite sticky however. Just do a quick wipe with a liquid lcd/glass cleaner. It went away and now its has a good smooth but feel when doing finger gestures. You can barely tell there is a screen protector on the thing.
Overall I'm very happy with it. 3 Protectors with lifetime warranty. Techmatte, the maker of the protectors, also has good customer service. What not to like about that?
I'd give it an easy 9.5/10

Buddy, nowadays each and every phone comes with scratch resistant glass, so don't worry about that. Some of the fellow members here are using the phone without scratch guard without any issues, but I would still suggest you to apply a scratch guard when you buy the phone because no screen is scratch proof (heck I even managed to scratch gorila glass).
PS- please don't open new threads unnecessarily as there is already an existing thread on scratch resistant glass. Since you are a new member I suggest you to go through the forum rules. Welcome to the xda forum!
i used a sgs2 for 1 +1/2 yeas and it has literally no scratches not even a small one (i know cuz i sold it to a friend and he was blown away by the condition i had it)so i don't think i will use a screen guard(i don't like their feel too)
edit: im so sorry i searched the whole sub-forum for this phone and found nothing i did not knew we had a dedicated thread

Does P9 come with a screen protector?

I got a brand new Huawei P9 (EVA AL10), which already has some sort of film on the screen (also it comes with a case that I put on). Is this a tempered glass or some other type of film, plastic or glass? What sort of protection is it? Or maybe it's just a casual film that needs to be removed after unpackaging? Notice that the film does not cover the screen completely, about a milimeter is not covered in the left and right sides.
It's my first smartphone and I am not familiar with these gadgets at al! Also, I am a clumsy person. I will surely drop the phone (probably regularly once in a while). What sort of accessory can I use to protect against drops? Is a folded-case better than the standard case that comes with the phone for screen protection?

I'm quite sure that was just a flim. You should have bought a tempered glass protection.

My P9 came with some kind of protector (under the outer protecting film). I'm still thinking if I should replace it with something that cover the entire screen because it looks a bit ugly.. Here is how it looks:
Better to keep that plastic screen protector. The tempered glass ones do not work well on the p9. On a second note ugh the ads for this website on mobile are horrible.
I replaced it with something from ScreenKnights. Feels OK but seems to be very sensitive to scratches. Look at the marks I did with just my nails..

Maybe because this is made from silicon like 3MK Arc. It's very soft protector film. It's impossible to scratch it

Accessories Best screen protector?

What screen protector is everyone using? Preferably glass, but open to TPU. I'm in the UK

I'm using whitestone dome currently, although there is one on Amazon for ten to fifteen dollars or so, that is pretty good also. They used to have one for the 8 pro I believe in/from uk if I'm not mistaken. The dome is hard to beat if you can spare the additional cost. I believe I paid $40 for two and I recommend just putting the glass on without the included alignment tray using the camera cutout to line up.
There is already a thread for these :

Ultimate Shield LOCA Screen Protector (2 Pack) £29.99 from Ultimate Shield Website £29.99 from Amazon UK

Whitestone is usually the best but they're pricey. Ultimate Shield are good also, not quite so pricey.
Foluu is popular, my favourite is the Mocolo LOCA screen protector from either AliExpress or Amazon, good quality and a decent price. Just be careful with the glue when you are applying it and try your best not to get the glue in either the speakers or switches, it can be easily removed with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) if you do though.

Akcoo 3D Matte Screen Protector w/ liquid screen adhesiveWell low and behold, I found a matte screen protector for the Oneplus 9 pro. It is a tempered glass like screen protector you apply with liquid screen adhesive.
I love it! No bubbles or lint getting trapped under the statically charged screen protector (caused by the pulling away of the protective film, and it seems to attract dust and lint). No more glare. Better visibility in the sun. No reduction in brightness. No screen fingerprints nor smudges. And way better feel, like running your finger over paper, just the right amount of mechanical feel that you simply do not get with tempered glass screens.
Fingerprint sensor works as well as before.

I purchased it on amazon, and it is far from the most expensive screen protectors out there, while not being the dollar store bargain bin price range.
You do get a lot for your money and value. You receive two screen protectors with three liquid adhesive viles. You also get the standard wipe pads, cleaners, and stickers to remove lint as well as... a) rubber pads in different thicknesses that you stick on the bottom of the phone (opposite the camera bulge) to level the phone flat. b) clear adhesive strips that you apply to protect the ear piece and the side buttons in case you squeeze any clear adhesives into those areas (*which shouldn't happen if you follow my rule of thumb below). c) UV light adaptor to cure the liquid adhesive (you need a usb c cable and power supply).
Cheers,
