Stock 1.54.708.5 - need your help - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I'd appreciate if anyone could upload a copy of the file "audio.primary.msm8974.so" under /system/lib/hw.
Thanks! Mine seems to have been corrupted so OTA fails.

Can you upload the OTA somewhere, or at least give the full filename? Thanks.
I'll see if I can find that file in my backup tomorrow.

Hey! I attached the file you wanted, see if it works. But before you update, could you upload a copy of "Camera.apk" & "Camera.odex" /system/app/
Mine was corrupted, when I try doing the OTA update, it aborts because it has "unexpected contents".
Specifically it says,
"/system/app/Camera.apk" has unexpected contents.
Installation aborted
Thanks!

Argh, your file didn't work for me. Anyone else with this file? preferably someone who hasn't done any mods.
Still get the same error.
Anyone?

Sorry, I couldn't find my backup, I hope I don't need it!
Thanks for the upload, although I thought it was gonna be 1.60.708.2, never mind.
Good luck!

here is the updater-script:

thanks but force md5 is not checked, unless you are talking about doing this in code?
And in the log it says
verify md5 for /sdcard...........
No md5 file found, ignoring.
If it is an md5 problem then where and what do i put the md5 file.

Well you could try rebooting your device. If that doesn't work, boot your device into recovery mode(5001). If that doesn't work boot back into normal(4000). Make sure TWRP is updated.(or CWM). Or you could try to flash it manually with your computer.

well i think i didnt make the update script right or something. I need someone to check out the zip.
josepho1997 said:
I would test it out but i don't have my Kindle Fire. The USB Port was loose and I'm waiting on my new one. They shouldn't find out I rooted because I unrooted, deleted any app that hinted towards me rooting it, and my battery is completely dead and it can't charge, so I think I'm safe

Well its not really a matter of testing it because I'm pretty sure it won't work on any fire because I think I formatted the zip the wrong way. All I need is someone who has made a flash able zip to check the zip out and see what I did wrong. This is my first flash able zip I've ever made. It is a very simple one too.

You are correct that the zip file was formatted wrong. I redid the META-INF you was missing update-binary file and your updater-script was incorrect.
I attached it again with the fixes.

Thank you so much.I ran out or thanks. I will be sure to thank you tomorrow.Do you ever have to change the binary? Like if I make a different flashable zip can i just keep the update-binary the same? And can you reccomend something for linux to sighn zips. I had to use windows to sighn the one I attached?
Edit: when I flashed a zip it deleted all app data or something? Do you know why?

Note 3 - Stock boot animation file request

I'm hoping to find someone who has the stock "bootanimation" file from the system/bin folder. Mine was accidentally written over, I'm trying to download a stock rom and extracting it. But if someone can save me some time and upload it or send it to me I would really appreciate it.
What is the location and filename?

different versions of debuggerd, for those who can't OTA due to 'unexpected contens'

It's the second time that this problem confronts me.
The OTA update process keeps complaining '/system/bin/debuggerd' with unexpected contents. Last time I have no idea so I flash the whole stock image. This time I found out that it's stickmount who modified the file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062768
So, I managed to get three versions of debuggerd (JSS15R, KRT16O, KRT16S) for whose who need it.
See the attachment
p.s. added the new debuggerd from KOT49H after the OTA update.

no, you get it wrong. I just packed different versions of debuggerd for update (this forum won't allow updated files with no extension). Just unpack the zip, choose the desired version and copy it to /system/bin.
thanks very useful i always seem to get this issue with stickmount....time to stop using it...
Can someone please post original debuggerd for KTU84L
Thanks
Stickmount makes a backup of debuggerd, it renames it debuggerd.backup, it's in the same directory as the one it replaced it with.

I tried that one and it didn't work. Same error message. If anyone has the 4.4.3 debuggerd, that'd be great. I tried using one from my Moto x on 4.4.3 and that didn't work either.

Thank you so much but this file doesn't work either. Did you have by chance stickmount installed during the update? In that case the file gets modified during the first boot and therefore doesn't work anymore

It's encrypted, not corrupt.
Big difference.
In other words, the zip is fine.
What you're expecting or attempting to do with it, is the problem...

The files I posted are fine, or I wouldn't have posted them.
If you're s-on, there's no need to open it.
Yes, it can be opened with the proper utility, but again, you have no need to do so.
Opening it or modifying it will break the ability to flash the signed zip to an s-on device.
Flash it as is. (it's not flashed in Twrp)
If you're not sure how, see the link to Sneakyghosts thread in the OP of my firmware thread, for instructions.
