[Q] Any Custom Kernel for Oppo Find 7a Color OS and Custom Android 4.4.3? - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

Is there any custom kernel for Oppo Find 7a for Android 4.3 and Android 4.4.2? I hope there will be an upstreamed version also (Linux 3.4.91). Thanks

Not as of yet. Keep track of the Threads in Android Development & Original Android Development. It will be quite obvious when a custom kernel gets released..which it should...Eventually...........

I don't know about other projects, but I have no intention of pulling in kernel.org upstream on omni.
Why? All of the patches are for hardware that doesn't exist in our phone and rarely have any benefit and in some cases cause regressions. (For example, on the Galaxy S2, pulling in upstream kernel patches would hide some forms of Android OS usage from battery stats - so if your wifi chip went nuts with IRQ spam you wouldn't notice a thing.) In addition, patches that ARE relevant have a bad habit of causing conflicts with CodeAurora pulls. (I do periodically do CAF upstream merges from the kk_3.5 branch)

For a review.
Thank you for keeping the Mi Pad alive ?
IMO, this is the best MiPad ROM! Thank you so much, Sir!
Smoothest ROM for MiPad
Flashed smoke kernel on top of it. I know it can mess things up.
Will keep updating if that helps or not.
Thanks for developing for Mipad.. Hopefully we can have some other developers who can chip in to help to write wrappers for the camera... (I know not priority)
Thanks a lot!
So, we booted cm12.1 and ported shields kernel. Is it possible to move further? Cm 13 for example? Or cm12.1 based customs.

cm13 would be better but, at this time we should focus on stablizing cm 12.1

Absolutely agree with you. Once cm12 is stabilized we can hope for a marshmallow or even a nougat ROM.
Regarding the graphics, will we get vulkan support?

On nougat, yes we may.
Edit: no nougat for k1 but marshmallow has vulkan so we can get blobs from it once we get marshmallow.
Awesome... Can't wait to reach home and flash this.... Have waited so long to get away from MiUi

I didn't knew about custom roms. The point was, we can get vulkan if we get marshmallow and as you told, on nougat too.

I think it will be hard work.
We've never got blob sources from xiaomi it can be impossible.
But still, just having marshmallow or nougot would be awsome...
Antutu score can be up to 80000++
---------- Post added at 06:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 AM ----------
Can we have marshmallow which "at least" boots up?
I think it would be quite hard to boot it up with old blobs
Hi, I request the OP to add flash instructions along with which recovery to use. I know it's obvious but still.
I would personally wait for this LP ROM to get stabilized fully with all working features first. Once we have enough dev support and expertise then move to working on MM or Nougat.
I read somewhere here that if LP gets stabilized it's not very tough to get to MM?

If rom is completely source built, not very tough to bump the android version. If we use prebuilt blobs (like in this case) it may be difficult.
Bug : The in-built microphone does not seem to work.
Wow the performance is so promising. Thanks for the effort and keep it up!
11h idle, 1% battery drained. Wow I'm impressed.

Please comment in english ! I am just beginner and I compiled stock kernel 15.1 for oreo but unable to get flashable zip. Phone is booting well and works smooth on lineage os 15.1 with stock kernel 3.10.108 and battery back up also decent. This technique can also be forwarded for pie rom but wifi error still there(wifi not getting on..)....still working on wifi issue...and also need help from a good developer to know how to flash oreo and pie kernels. i will release update once i got stable with oreo and pie roms:good:
until then If you are using pie ROM and want that pie kernel to boot on enforcing mode let me help you.:good:
What changes i can observe after updating kernal?

kernels are compiled directly from lineage source on date 21-oct-2018. Completely stock values. No features added to the kernel. Just made the kernels to boot either on on enforcing or permissive mode.:good: Battery life and volte depends on lineage sources (good or bad) and it is nothing to do with the compilation( just compiled from the source )

No but there is really no difference as I do not change anything but if there is anything wrong I probably could not fix it. Remember RR is bases on lineageOS so as thy have an official Rom bugs get quashed quite quickly and i think RR devs do the same. I do monitor both of these.

Question Why we still don't have LineageOS 19?

Why we still don't have LineageOS 19?
What is missing ?
I asked luk and he told me build quality is not enough good in his opinion (that was month ago)
A couple Asus and Pixels got it so far, according to this post.
https://www.xda-developers.com/lineageos-19-android-12/
Kernel source is here but, judging by the performance of the stock rom, it's probably not great as a stable base :
GitHub - OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_sm8350 at oneplus/SM8350_S_12.0_9Pro
Contribute to OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_sm8350 development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
OnePlus themselves seem to have been pushing 12.1 to earlier models and are probably just going to go for a better Android 13 experience for the 9/10 models.
Even Google has made a mess of Android 12 on their own Pixels.
You can always check the OnePlus github at the url above and search for the chipset which you can confirm using the GSMArena page for the phone :
OnePlus 9 Pro - Full phone specifications
www.gsmarena.com
When you do, you'll see the latest revisions pushed by OnePlus along with the Android base, SM8350_S_12.0 in the above case. If you don't see the current version then there's no kernel source pushed by OnePlus which means custom rom modders need to try using previous kernel source. That's why all the Android 12 roms have been using the Android 11 kernel and why the phone had to have OxygenOS 11 before flashing

Until now yes but judging by what was said above, even the A12 kernel isn't up to scratch for custom roms.
