Is it unbranded or carrier locked? If unbranded, then I guess it will work in India. If carrier locked, then it will need to be unlocked first from the carrier itself.
Edit: Wrong info, misread the question. Yes it will work in US on 3g network.

what country / providor is is this off ?
i9000m is for canada.. although i use it in the u.s.and it does include 850mhz 3g like yours i believe... that is why i thought it may help.
i think the bmc stands for bell mobile corp.

2. play station mobile
3. can not buy smart dock for ion
4. still running GB

I have an Xperia ZL that was purchased from bell. I know it has a locked bootloader that cannot be unlocked through the official Sony tool, so i'm wondering if it can be unlocked with the flashtool posted elsewhere in the ZL forums?
If so that would be awesome.
If not, I'll be supremely unimpressed with Sony.

It's not a yes or no answer. It supports some T-Mobile bands but not all of them like a Samsung model would. You can go here and see which bands it supports. https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker
