Just got my i9300i and tried towelroot method out of the box but it did not work
Super SU says there are no binaries on my phone and also that it can't install them for me so I should do it manually. WTF ?!

Did you install towelroot first? Run it and click in the gray button and wait. The device will reboot automatically and after that Super SU will update the binary just fine.

Do you have any security software installed on your phone, like an antivirus? They can interfere with the process. You must temporarily disable or completely remove them before doing the root method.

No, not a single one. I just got my i9300i 3 hours ago and tried towelroot right after unboxing.

What´s the base band of your I9300I? Check it in the "about phone" screen.

Glad I could help and enjoy your S3 Neo Duos. Amazing phone! :good:

Added quadrant and passmark benchmarks to the thread and updated antutu. Overall, Neo Duos has much better performance than the original S3 in almost all areas.

If SU binary from towelroot is indeed installed on your phone, then download Root Checker from Play Store and see if your phone is rooted: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck
If not, then Towelroot is not compatible with your device. What´s the region from your device? India? Can you post the CPU-Z report for your device?
If rooted, then first try with this Super SU apk (select "normal method" to update the su binary):
http://www.filedropper.com/superuser_3
If no success, try with the updated one from the official site (extract from "common folder"):
download.chainfire.eu/supersu

Yes I am from India and Root Checker says "This device does not have proper root access". So I guess this means my device is not compatible...
Do u know of any other way to root this device?

Despite Samsung calling your device by the same name, it is different in some ways. The board is different (MSM8226 vs MSM8228), the model is different (s3ve3gdd vs s3ve3gub). The processor speed is lower (1.2 GHz vs 1.4 GHz).
Try downloading towelroot from the official site (http://towelroot.com), and then use the Super SU apk from the link I provided (http://www.filedropper.com/superuser_3).
As an alternative, you can try this method using odin, but at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage in your device: :good:

So I did try the ODIN method and it worked fine. Only problem was when i got to the Chinese menu for flashing. I had to try few permutations to actually get to the choice where i cud flash the file on the phone.
I do have full root access. So i guess people from India shud follow the ODIN method.
Thanks for you effort

THIS IS FOR (ROOT ONLY) ALLWINNER (A13) TWD_MID 2G TABLET w/ ICS 4.0.4
I never could find firmware from AllWinner (hopefully it's OK to provide their site: allwinner & allwinnertech dot com), never could find usb driver(s) & never could get the tablet or my pc to recognize each other (nothing here worked). Frustration & ignorance made me wonder why you have to have a pc to root an android device. I still don't have that understanding. What I DO have is an .apk that successfully rooted this tablet - here's the what & how:
1) dl these on the tablet: "framaroot 1.5.1" (available here courtesy of Alephzain - THANK YOU), a file manager if you don't have one (I have ASTRO), and "Root Checker" (free, google play store)
2) pre-root tablet settings: settings>dev options> enable USBdebugging
settings>security> enable unknown sources
3) run framaroot - in a blink it's done. run root checker to verify. go back into settings & uncheck usbdebug & unkn sources
There wasn't much to rooting this device - I wanted to practice on something before attempting anything exotic on my LG MS910 (MetroPCS).
This tablet already has ICS & I won't be too surprised if there never is a JB ROM that works 100% (I keep reading about touchscreen issues) but I'm learning & little successes like this are motivating.
Allwinner a13 rom
Hi thanks for your post but I have a different problem. After spending my time on googling I managed to confim the model chipset. However my tablet is stuck in bootloop and I am unable to get into recovery mode. Is there any software like restore binary for MMX canvas where you can flash rom while tab is turned off. I just want to install a recovery and turn on the tablet.
Nice job works with trio stealth g2 7inch tab

Thanks a lot, this really worked for me!!!

No, this method work just for android without master key bug patch, because this method use that bug to exploit the su binary and luckily sony not patch that bug.
strange when I tried to root, a dialog box appeared saying "Device not found". Any advice? thanks

Hi, thank you very much for this tool, it really is the simplest.
I noticed that I get adverts in my apps now, but I have all the ad-blockers installed. I tried the update fix as well. Previously, I used V-root which definitely did give enough permission to block ads. Has anyone else experienced this i.e. some root issues?
I did try uninstalling everything and retrying a few times but it's still the same.

But ya this didn't gave me full root without usin the tool by [NUT].
So this method, as stated in the op itself, helps in rooting but isnt a complete root.

I could not find a root method... I couldnt even find the right USB drivers.
Found the method for the RK3188, which is the quad core variant of the 3168.
Tried it, and it works perfectly! Rooted baby!

That has the same processor as the tablet I rooted. You use the root program that was linked to in this thread? Did your tablet reboot 3 times?

When you ran the root script on your PC did those come up as 0/root? If so you should have pressed the space bar to continue. That would have been the first reboot if I remember correctly. Then it does a second script with same as far as uid=0(root) gid=0(root) then continue by pressing space bar...2nd reboot. Then 3rd script same as above uid...gid, space bar, 3rd reboot...then you should be rooted. Make sure tablet is on and USB debugging is checked before you start and you have the device driver installed.
Basically it is asking you if you see uid=0(root) gid=0(root) after it runs each script. If so continue.

Which root file did you download? Was it the TPsparky.rar file?

Just extract files and run the TPSparky.bat file as Administrator on PC.
This is the one I used and it worked first time!
Cube U9gtV - RK3188 Quad Core
Thanks. It worked perfectly for my Cube.
I only saw "uid=0(root) gid=0(root)" before the last reboot. I almost didn't realize it was there. I believe it was in the line just above the question about it being there. The first 2 reboots just told me wait until the OS loaded then press any key (spacebar) to reboot. After the last reboot, I ran an app Root Checker and it worked. Thanks again.
thanks! working on AWC 3188
works
Just tried this method on the yarvik noble mini tab07-485 and it works thank you very much.

yes sir, GT9XX_hotknot..
Sorry bro, CWM recovery created has some issues.
After loaded correctly, it restarts the C55 after some seconds (10-15) and .. also without using any functions of CWM.
It's very strange and first time in my experience so far..
Any suggestion? can you help me to find solution ?

Ok thanks for the confirmation.
Not sure about the CWM maybe we are now just finding it's limits with LP5.1 and the newer SoC.
After all we are still using something made for the mt6595 on KK.
This is why we really need a working touch as TWRP will soon be the only recovery able to cope with the new android versions (M) and SoC's
I will have a play with CWM when I get the phone.

how did you installa Xposed?
i's only possible to install xposed with double step procedure
1- install xposed zip from custom recovery (according to arm 64 bit cpu and sdk22 for android 5.1)
2- install the apk after reboot
no other ways.. or if you try, you have for sure bootloop

Just got it today bro :victory:
I spent all day trying to get Philz, CWM to stay booted and stop force closing
I even gave TWRP a shot in the vain hope I could get the touch to work but no luck.
Still I did manage to get @carliv CWM v3.3 working :victory:
I just need to fully test it first by doing some backups, restores, wipes, etc etc :fingers-crossed:
I am going to bed now for some well earned sleep
Very good news... and very good work! [emoji106] [emoji4]
CWM and Philz Recovery
Well here are the fixed versions ported by me for the Siswoo C55 (Still no touch that's a kernel issue not a recovery one)
First is @carliv CWM (Swipe version it has slightly larger font which I prefer being old  ) Thread here for thanks
Next is @yuweng Philz recovery very Thread here for thanks
Be sure to visit both the above and give thanks to them.
I have siad it before and will say it again that without @carliv original work NONE of mt67xx 64bit based devices would have a custom recovery it's all thanks to carliv's original efforts that anyone has a custom recovery on these devices. So Big thanks to carliv :highfive:
Big thanks also to my friend @yuweng again without yuweng's original MTK development we would be years behind where we are now. :highfive:
I have Posted both recovery's on needrom here
PS: Do not mirror or host these elsewhere please
Simply link to this post or needrom so that proper credit is given to the right people.
Don't forget to hit my thanks button too

Hi there,
Same problem Here. My Elephone P8000 is not rooted, when I bought it, it came without ROOT. I've checked with ROOT CHECKER and actually says it is not rooted, but the problem is there, so the solution is not to unroot the phone because it isn't... Still no fix?
I'm using Blueflames Cyanogenmod and find a way to make PG working on my rooted P8000.
1. Install SManager from Playstore.
2. Download the attached Script from cyanogenmod forum.
3. Check if the path to the su binaries is correct.
4. If it is not running, try to set the Script in non daemon mode. If it's working than edit line 6 of the Script from if['$1"!="-D]; then to if['$1"="-D]; then. This is how the script works on Blueflames Cyanogenmod.
5. Add the Script to SManager and enjoy.
Most Questions that can come up are answered in the thread at the cyanogenmod forum.

Which Superuser app do you use? Somehow I don´t get it to work
I use the cyanogenmod built in super user app, but it should work with Chainfires SU too.
I just don't get it to work it would be super awesome if you could Upload your edited Skript. Probably it could solve it
That simple app worked for me
"root switch" apk from https://www.asus.com/zentalk/tw/for...wNDk1fGJmMjhjZGZifDE0NzY0MDUzNjB8MHwxNzM1NDI=
Okay, it's update time.
This night there comes the PokemonGo 0.43.4 and the previous work around with the script will not work any longer.
So there are two ways afaik, that make PoGo work again.
1. If simply SuperUser on a stock ROM installed, you may have luck with the latest 'root switch' , version 1.3.3.2, from chakalaca at zentalk
http://www.asus.com/zentalk/tw/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=173542&page=37#pid962740
2. Use the latest Magisk, that will make it too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Download the Magisk Manager and the latest phh SuperUser and install the zips with TWRP or any other recovery.
Now comes the tricky part.
You have to remove every other sign of SuperUser from other installation. Often it is enough to use the unroot option of the installed SuperUser app, but if you have Cyanogenmod, or an Cyanogenmod based ROM, installed you need to remove the su binaries by hand. Best way for me is, to remove the su binaries use the recovery and adb. The su binary is located in /system/bin or /system/xbin. You need to mount the sytem partition rw but that should be an easy task with TWRP. And, Cyanogenmod Users, don't forget to disable builtin root first.
Cheers

do there is a way without root ?
and if not, do there is a way to root without recovery?
please reply
PoGo should work, if there is really no root. You can check with a file manager of there is a su binary in /system/bin or /system/xbin.
If there is a su binary, you need to delete it.
