ta backup has nothing to do with relocking bootloader
it is used to save some features of sony
relocking has not been made yet
and why would u want to relock?

Just incase to get the official kitkat update via SUS

As far as i know you just need to flash stock firmware back to original rom you dont need to relock bootloader to get kitkat update via sus

To use SUS, you must have a locked bootloader. For those who have an unlocked bootloader, just wait until someone uploads an FTF. FTFs can be flashed on unlocked bootloaders using Flashtool by Androxyde.

You can easily relock the bootloader in just two steps.
Flash only the kernel via flashtool and then relock the bootloader also via flashtool.
You can't go wrong if you've used flashtool before.

And can we flash a custom kernel like maximus kernel while relocking?

The process is quite simple but do it at your own risk..
Turn on your computer's internet..
Open flashtool and select flashmode..
Select the firmware, then exclude everything but kernel (Remember only kernel should be selected, exclude everything)..
Uncheck every option in wipe..
Flash the mobile, it should take just 4-5 seconds..
Don't restart yet, disconnect your mobile..
Open BLU option in flashtool..
Connect your mobile, a dialog box will open, just click on relock..
(Remember, don't turn off the internet connection untill the bootloader is locked)
Restart your phone, it'll still be rooted and you'll be able to get all official updates..
Only thing you'll lose is the cwm recovery..

[Q] Re-lock bootloader Xperia S

Hello guys, I have a Xperia S and I unlocked my bootloader to install OpenSemc. But yesterday I went back to stock ICS using Emma, to later get a direct update to JB. But I know that I can't do this update using unlocked bootloader, because it will "brick" the phone. So I'm wondering if I re-lock the bootloader to get this update, will I be able to unlock it again using the same unlock key and install custom ROM's again?
Thanks in advanced.

You can get the JB update even on unlocked bootloader. No need to relock the bootloader.:good:
Just avoid OTA updates though.

Hmm, you mean through PC Companion and SEUS, or through .ftf files made by users?

If you relocked your bl you can't use PC Companion or SUS. This will brick your phone. You should use FlashTool or EMMA.

I don't think I can agree with you. 3 days ago I relock my BL and Update my phone through SUS.
Yes Pharix is right. The device may get bricked only if u try using PCC with unlocked bootloader. With locked bootloader nothing wrong should happen.
Edited:- Because of abcdjdj's comment below. But i mentioned to keep the bootloader locked just in-case ! As saying that the chances of bricking the device is higher when the bootloader is unlocked than locked bootloader.
Thanks all you guys!

Actually it is not possible to brick an unlocked BL phone by using PC companion. It won't update at all and will give a modified software error. Ota update will definitely brick.

so if its brick via ota, can't we recover it by flashing any other ftf via flashtool?

But why do you want to know that? It is always dangerous to do such a thing.
Do we need to flash the official Jb kernel.sin or the PC companion is going to install automatically wrt Ftf? I mean after relock bootloader & installing official ftf via PC companion,

Ur bootloader lock or unlock? Can u flash doomkernel v7? It has root feature for .253.
Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
If you want to keep drm and bravia backup TA partition before flashing that kernel. You can restore TA after that and get rooted 253 with bravia and drm.
At least that's what I read somewhere on.xda....

If u have unlocked ur bootloader just download kernel from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230826 follow instruction as stated. Boot ur phone to recovery then select reboot, then it will request u to root.

thank you for reply
but I still confused the link u show me is for kernel
is that include root and recovery in the zip?
Yes, I dont how doomlord do that. Here my story, I have flash .253 stock ftf and booted fine without root gain, then because of my hand itchy to try doomkernel, I flash the boot.img via flashtool (becoz stock kernel dont have recovery) then I enter recovery to ensure I successfully flash the boot.img file, upon rebooting it request to root ur phone.
But when I enter the recovery there are some error can not mount cache blablabla, I solve it by reflashing the stock. 253 xcluding kernel.

Yup, it includes both CMW recovery and root. The first time you put the boot.img using fastboot, during boot you need to enter recovery by pressing volume up button when DooMLoRD logo shows up, when you exit it will ask to root and just select yes. You should be rooted then

Have you backup the TA partition?
Because I was reading and the method I founded, you need to be rooted to backup, and on FW 253, need to unolck BL to root.
So I don't think will be possible to do the Backup.
Here in Brazil, we did not have the 253 released, but I'll use the MEA 253 released.
I backup my TA from 434, and I'm thinking to restore that bckup on 253, what do you think?
Thanks a lot.
Edit:
One more question, you received update OTA, or get it on XDA like me?
I'd like to know if rootkeeper works here.
Some one have tested that?
Thanks.

I unlocked my BL first time when I got my phone c6506 usa version
I didn't backup my TA.and as I said I unlock bl so I can't get ota or via pc
I got .253 file from xda using flashtool .
Root the .434 using bin4ry's method and then download app called OTA Rootkeeper and do the OTA update. Should retain Root with no Issue and with the stock firmware.

[Q] I want to reset Xperia S

So I have the Trinity Rom installed, unlocked bootloader, trinity x kernel and a rooted Xperia S. I want to go back to the beginning, to start everything from scratch. Can someone tell me a step by step procedure to revert to the old system because the PC Companion won't repair it because of the custom firmware.
Thanks!
Download and install Emma(the sony developers tool). That can reflash your phone to stock firmware. Or flash an ftf though Flashtool.
Also, there is a sop on the xda website regarding relocking the bootloader if you want to do that.

I have flashed the stock kernel somehow and relocked the bootloader while still having the custom rom, I knew that my phone wouldn't go past the sony logo, because when I was installing the rom I chose bootloader unlocked so now I can't win either way. What should I do, still install emma?

{HELP}XMD C2005 - Stucked at bootanimation after Unlocking!!!

hi XMD users.
I unlocked my XMD C2005 succesfully but when i booted it i got stucked on bootanimation. I tried to flash the 4.3 kernel with CWM and able to go to recovery but still unable to boot into system..
I performed it twice but i have no idea what is the reason behind. my phone is unlockable.
Thanks.
Try flashing the kernel from the stock FTF through Flashtool. If you don't have one, try requesting from other users.

What do you mean, stock CWM? What I meant was to flash the stock kernel, the one that came with your device.

I just want to ask and know, how long will it takes to boot up after unlocking 4.3 or flashing a 4.3 image with CWM? Coz' when I first unlocked the device it's been more than 20mins and the device still on boot animation..
Any tips? Thanks...
No. All you have to do is to boot into flash mode.
It doesn't normally boot too long. It's just like rebooting the device.
IDK I had some problems too with bootloader unlocking and I found the fix: don't unlock with Sony site, but with flashtool.
AFAIR I relocked my bootloader and then I unlocked it with flashtool and it worked. It's thag button near the flash button.
If you unlocked your bootloader already , relock with TA partition (If you Made).Or just relock it with the latest version of flashtool. And boot into flash mode (Volume down btn press and hold) and flash a .ftf firmware. That's it ----> CHEERS .. if you still facing problems please report in the same thread with my name i.e @XDASenior

[Q] How to be sure that Bootloader is Unlocked, still receiving OTA updates

Hi I am a newbie. I had rooted my phone using Towel-root method and am even using xposed framework and am running stock version. After this to Unlock my Bootloader I fallowed procedures as given by sony, but after i entered unlock command in cmd, my xpeira m went into bootloop.
I tried repaing usning pc companion it said that my mobile has been modified and cant repair, and hence using flashtool flashed stock xperia m rom and had to root again.
But the problem is that I still receive OTA updates from Sony for Walkman and album apps. If my booloader is unlocked I shouldn't be recieving those right ? How can I confirm for sure without flashing anything ?
Another question: Now If i flash CWM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ery-philz-touch-6-41-6-xm-dual-t2795778/page2 will that erase my rom ? I mean do I have to flash my stock rom and reroot after flashing CWM for my device to work ?
i think i have an answer

Hi raghu,
see answer to ur first question, i dont think bootloader status will effect ur updates , because at first i tried to install CWM and went into bootloop , before that i unlocked my bootloader using flashtool, so i flashed .ftf file and went back to stock , when i tried to flash CWM i noticed that my bootloader was still unlocked , flashing .ftf didnt change it at all. i dont know whether this happened to me accidentally or it will really doesnt effect ur bootloader status but the answer is bootloader status will not effect ur updats ( as far as i knw).
answer to ur 2nd question is no it wont erase ( i am sure about it :good ur current ROM, if u flash it right. Dont worry i tried that recovery before, its gud and flash carefully, dont end up into bootloop once again ..safe flashing
thnx :good::good:
Your device's bootloader is absolutely locked if you are still receiving the OTA updates (and installing ). And I would suggest you to check the Bootloader status in Flashtool.
No flashing the CWM will not affect your current ROM

hope this helps ,
As far as I am aware only the OTA firmware updates no longer work when you unlock your bootloader, the OTA application updates should work as intended.
For installing the kernel, all you have to do is put your device into fastboot mode, select the kernel with flashtool and then let flashtool work its magic. It won't wipe your ROM as it doesn't touch the /system partition.
You don't even need flashtool to check your bootloader unlock status either. Type in *#*#7378423#*#*, tap Service info, tap Configuration. You will see a section what says rooting status. Underneath rooting status you will find your bootloader status, it will read one of three things;
1) Bootloader unlock allowed: No (meaning you cannot unlock your bootloader, you shouldn't see this as you have unlocked yours by the sounds of the first post)
2) Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes (meaning you can unlock your bootloader, if it says this and you plan on unlocking the bootloader I hope you make backups of your TA partition cause you have no way of locking your bootloader again else. This goes for anybody reading this)
2) Bootloader unlock: Yes (meaning your bootloader is unlocked).
