Tempered glass screen guard - Galaxy Grand 2 Accessories

Hi
Please check the link
http://www.phonearena.com/news/PET-...-to-know-to-choose-a-screen-protector_id58204
Protection with a temper! Tempered glass (TG) screen protectors are the absolute best you can buy. Material-wise, a high-quality TG protector is multi-layered, usually starting with shock absorbent silicon on the bottom layer, followed by PET film, and an optically clear adhesive to 'sandwich' the previous two layers with the next two, which are tempered glass and oleophobic coating. All of this scratch, oil, and shock protecting goodness is compressed into a <0.4mm-thick sheet that's no harder to apply than a PET or TPU protector, and none heavier or otherwise obnoxious.
A glass protector is superior to its alternatives in every way. It has better light transmittance, making for a clearer display. It's anti-reflective and glare reducing. It has oleophobic coating, which heavily reduces fingerprints. It has the smooth feel of actual glass under your fingertips. Unlike Gorilla Glass 3, it resists sand scratches, making it the only viable option for beachgoers. And let's talk about shock protection. T-glass protectors boast a material hardness rating of 8H to 9H, meaning they are hard enough to resist scratches from anything that's not topaz or corundum (extremely hard aluminum oxide). Yet, they aren't completely shatter-proof. Since this is toughened glass we're talking about, in the event of a fatal drop, the protector will absorb all the damage and break into tiny shards. Chances are pretty good that your display will end up unscathed underneath. Thus, instead of having to replace the entire screen, you'll only have to get a new protector. Which is easier on both your soul and your wallet.
As you probably expected, tempered glass protectors are the most expensive kind. Most renowned brands can charge up to $40 for their products. And although that's money well spent if you are rocking an expensive flagship smartphone, excellent tempered glass protectors can be found for less than $15 online.

Review of Anker Anti-glare screen protector for S5 w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of Anker anti-glare screen protector for S5. http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Hig...lare-Anti-Fingerprint-Lifetime/dp/B00IOCN5Q2/
After getting S5 over the weekend, now I'm starting to receive a lot of accessories sent to me from different vendors for review. So as a heads up, a lot more reviews are coming!!! To start off, I'm going to look at Anker new anti-glare/anti-scratch Galaxy S5 screen protector pack. Here is what I found.
With every new gen, smartphone manufacturers introducing a more durable displays and trying to tell us that we don't need screen protectors. 2-3 years ago screen protector was a must because it was easy to scratch the glass, but today you might argue if you really need one. Plus with tempered glass protectors getting thinner, you might think why would you even need a traditional PET film screen protector? If you look at all the junk on ebay - don't even waste your money, even if it's as cheap as $0.99. The reason why I decided to look into PET film sp as my first accessory because the phone is actually for my wife and she uses it a lot outdoors. Plus I have two little kids at home who like to get their hands on it too. Anker, I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with their external batteries, now expanding their product line and adding screen protectors in addition to their battery and power products. The model I'm looking at offers 4H hardness (this is beyond typical cheap 2H films, and even premium 3H films), anti-scratch resistance, fingerprint reduction (very easy to swipe, even without cleaning cloth), dust reduction due to less static generation, and the most important - matte finish for glare reduction.
For $5.99 it came packed with a lot of goodies, including 3 screen protectors, a generous size micro-fiber cloth, a bubble removal card (plastic, not some cheap carton tab), a sticky strip to remove dust, and even a detailed instruction manual. They also offer a lifetime warranty, but to be honest between 3 protectors, you will be covered for a "lifetime" until you switch to a new phone anyway. But still, having a pack of 3 with a lifetime guarantee gives you a piece of mind in case if you mess up during installation. Actually, install took me a minute. It went on easy, got a few specks of dust so I lift it up to clean it, and put it back on squeezing out the air bubbles. One thing I do have to note, it has anti-glare matte finish, so it adds a layer of tint to your bright screen and makes it look a bit grainy. But that's a price you gotta pay. Otherwise, get their clear screen protector.
Is this an absolute must have accessory for S5? It's up to you to decide. Personally, I wouldn't leave your screen exposed because next time you will end up with S5 and keys or loose change in your pocket - you might not be as lucky to get away without a scratch. Plus, if you are struggling with a glare outside, this might be a good solution for you. For $5.99 it's dirt cheap, good quality, and comes from a reputable company.
Here are the pictures.

Buddy, nowadays each and every phone comes with scratch resistant glass, so don't worry about that. Some of the fellow members here are using the phone without scratch guard without any issues, but I would still suggest you to apply a scratch guard when you buy the phone because no screen is scratch proof (heck I even managed to scratch gorila glass).
PS- please don't open new threads unnecessarily as there is already an existing thread on scratch resistant glass. Since you are a new member I suggest you to go through the forum rules. Welcome to the xda forum!
i used a sgs2 for 1 +1/2 yeas and it has literally no scratches not even a small one (i know cuz i sold it to a friend and he was blown away by the condition i had it)so i don't think i will use a screen guard(i don't like their feel too)
edit: im so sorry i searched the whole sub-forum for this phone and found nothing i did not knew we had a dedicated thread

Skinomi Tech Glass first impressions/mini review

Hello everyone. I just got the chance to install the Skinomi Tech Glass tempered glass screen protector that I ordered off of Amazon a couple days ago for $14.95 after I noticed that my Nillkin chipped in a couple of spots on top of the screen protector and proceeded to crack.
The overall packaging of the Skinomi is done rather well and unless heavy items is stacked on the packaging the screen protector should be safe during transport. I chose the Skinomi product over other products because of a lifetime replacement warranty they have on the product so if this screen protector happens to chip or lift up because of a poor manufacturing process I have that extra piece of mind. Some features this product has is as mentioned before a lifetime warranty, a thin profile(seems thinner than Nillkin although the official specs has it the same), rounded edges, oleophobic coating, and a proximity sensor cutout. Installation was a breeze and the fit is much like the Nillkin with a couple of millimeters of space around the edges. So far I am quite satisfied with the product, I will upload pictures of the installation soon.

Does is come with a back protector as well? I noticed my Nillkin has small chips at a few spots as well. One of them looks like it's cracked slightly but it's so thin you don't notice it. I'm thinking it'll blow out eventually though so I'll have to replace sooner or later. Damned if I know how how it would have chipped since I've never dropped it or keep it near anything that could do it.
The cheap back protector that comes with the Nillkin seems to be doing the job, it's scratched to hell! So I'll never not have anything on the back.
No the Skinomi does not come with a back protector, just the front. I still have my Nillkin back cover still on the phone.
I am assuming the keys in my pocket caused the chips on my Nillkin because I never dropped my phone either.
Forgive me if this sounds stupid, is this meant to be use in place of the stock glass that comes on the Z1?

no. it covers the glass, so you technically have 2 layers of glass on the front of your phone.

Otterbox Alpha Glass tempered glass protector for S5 w/pics.

For those who follow hundreds of my reviews in this community (just check a link in my signature), you probably going to be surprised I made a post without my usual "Review..." prefix. I was in a process of reviewing various Otterbox cases for Galaxy phones, and was made aware of their tempered glass product I never heard of before. At the current moment I already have tempered glass installed on our S5 and would rather keep it as is. Therefore, this is more of an acknowledgement of the product with a close up pictures without an actual installation. I'm more than confident installation is going to be a breeze since S5 screen is perfectly flat, unlike headaches we are having over at Note 4 section lol!!!
Here is a link Otterbox Alpha Glass: http://www.otterbox.com/Alpha-Glass...ung-Galaxy-S5/sam38-galaxy-s5,default,pd.html
Otterbox is well known for their Commuter and Defender cases, which I'm sure doesn't need any introduction since every carrier has it in their store as well as Best Buy. Commuter, their lighter everyday protection case, comes with a bonus film protector already while Defender, their heavy duty case, has film protector built into the case. It's a good scratch protection, but it will not save your display from a direct impact that could easily shatter the glass. That's how tempered glass protectors became so popular, adding another thin layer of glass on top of your display. From it's product description, Alpha Glass has all the typical features of anti-shatter and anti-scratch, 9H hardness, crystal clear visibility, and touch capacity like the original display. This glass actually comes in 4 different models, 2 crystal clear and 2 privacy dimmed which obviously going to reduce clarity while giving you more protection from people looking over your shoulder or sitting next to you on the train or a bus. Each one has a variation of a generic Standalone cut for any case or Otterbox Compatible cut to accommodate Otterbox cases. The model I got was Standalone Clear.
In the box you get a tempered glass protector (that yellow film is a protective removable layer), an alcohol wipe, a cleaning wipe cloth, and step-by-step install instructions. Also, if you visit their page from the link above, they have a detailed installation video. I didn't install it, but put it on top of the S5 to confirm a precise cut fitment. Another thing to keep in mind, Otterbox offers LifeTime replacement warranty on this protector, and these guys typically stand behind their warranty where I know if you break the case you just have to create RMA ticket with a picture of the problem and they send you a replacement. I'm sure the same with a tempered glass or in case if you mess it up during installation. Typically, tempered glass install is a lot easier than film, just make sure your hands are washed with soap, display is clean, and you install it in a dust free environment.
If anybody has Alpha Glass installed already, please chime in with your reply or pictures for others to benefit from.
Here are the pictures of the product in and out of the box.

I'm using whitestone dome currently, although there is one on Amazon for ten to fifteen dollars or so, that is pretty good also. They used to have one for the 8 pro I believe in/from uk if I'm not mistaken. The dome is hard to beat if you can spare the additional cost. I believe I paid $40 for two and I recommend just putting the glass on without the included alignment tray using the camera cutout to line up.
There is already a thread for these :

Ultimate Shield LOCA Screen Protector (2 Pack) £29.99 from Ultimate Shield Website £29.99 from Amazon UK

Whitestone is usually the best but they're pricey. Ultimate Shield are good also, not quite so pricey.
Foluu is popular, my favourite is the Mocolo LOCA screen protector from either AliExpress or Amazon, good quality and a decent price. Just be careful with the glue when you are applying it and try your best not to get the glue in either the speakers or switches, it can be easily removed with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) if you do though.

Akcoo 3D Matte Screen Protector w/ liquid screen adhesiveWell low and behold, I found a matte screen protector for the Oneplus 9 pro. It is a tempered glass like screen protector you apply with liquid screen adhesive.
I love it! No bubbles or lint getting trapped under the statically charged screen protector (caused by the pulling away of the protective film, and it seems to attract dust and lint). No more glare. Better visibility in the sun. No reduction in brightness. No screen fingerprints nor smudges. And way better feel, like running your finger over paper, just the right amount of mechanical feel that you simply do not get with tempered glass screens.
Fingerprint sensor works as well as before.

I purchased it on amazon, and it is far from the most expensive screen protectors out there, while not being the dollar store bargain bin price range.
You do get a lot for your money and value. You receive two screen protectors with three liquid adhesive viles. You also get the standard wipe pads, cleaners, and stickers to remove lint as well as... a) rubber pads in different thicknesses that you stick on the bottom of the phone (opposite the camera bulge) to level the phone flat. b) clear adhesive strips that you apply to protect the ear piece and the side buttons in case you squeeze any clear adhesives into those areas (*which shouldn't happen if you follow my rule of thumb below). c) UV light adaptor to cure the liquid adhesive (you need a usb c cable and power supply).
Cheers,
