Tips
To optimize the batterylife, you can use greenify on all apps including Google play so that it doesn't drain your battery. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
ROOT Metode
Thanks to de vetnek for the method! written by s7yler, this is how I rooted the Leagoo Lead 1. All normal tools will fail like vRoot, Shuame, Kingo, Towelroot, Framaroot
0. Enabled "USB debugging" in "Developer options" on the phone
1. Went to http://www.kingoapp.com, downloaded and installed the windows program "Bootloader unlock for Sony"
2. Ran the program on the PC, connected the phone and pressed unlock. It then rebooted the phone to fastmode, then it hanged!
3. Then I pulled the battery out (but I let the USB cable be connected still! and the "Bootloader unlock for Sony" program running still on the PC, I then inserted the battery again and hold volume up plus power down. Then I choose Fastboot and the bootloader program proceeded and ended finishing.
4. After that I downloaded Kingo root tool, installed on PC, ran it, connected phone, let it run through the whole process, where it will reboot and check a lot of times. But it will then end with Roof failed! (after all tries is run).
5. Then I installed Mobile Uncle Tools 2.9.9 (just the newest) and went to MTK engeering mode (MTK) and then swiped to the part called "log and debugging" tab an select "User2root", and the selected Root.
6. Then I checked with Root checker, but it would say not rooted!
7. Then I ran MTK droid tools, connected the phone! and MTK droid tools will show ROOT and green square!
8. Then I went to tab 2 in MTK droid tools, and send the SuperSU into the phone, after that I could se a lot happening on the screen of the phone, so everything was installed. All went ok.
9. Rebooted the phone
10. After that I now had SuperSU, Mobile Uncle and Root explorer installed, now I again ran "Root Checker" and this time it would display ROOT in green!
11. Done!

I have just got one. Took 6 days from China (pandawill) to UK. $128/£74. I am fairly impressed with it. Nice screen and seems to run fine. Only issue I am having is battery life. I only got 3 hours yesterday but not done a few full charges yet so may need conditioning. I changed the run time to Art to see if any better. I read the choose on these suffer from battery drain too. I could not decide on this or the lenovo s939 with the 6 inch screen. I went for this due to price but should of got the s939 instead.

mmm have you updated yours? I got a OTA update on mine for a few days ago. I don't experience any batterydrain on mine, I have used it during a whole day with normal usage (a little sms, a few calls and browsing). Do you use 100% brigtness, GPS? try to disable GPS and location service in google. Saves a lot of battery.

No ota but it may be on the latest. Tried it with GPS off all day and brightness is less than half. Turned off wake gestures too.. No texts or calls today. Played words with friends twice and a bit of browsing and got 4 hours to 1%.
Its on charge now after I let it turn itself off so will see how it goes tomorrow. I may have a bad battery, shame it's not same as a common phone battery that you can buy easily.

Maybe you have an app installed causing heavy batterydrain or something. I think I would try to do a factory reset and check again with default settings.
I made battery standby test yesterday, at 00:00 I had it charged to 100%... I had it booted and connected to WiFi, after that I let it be in standby. After 8 hours (08:00), I checked the battery again, and it was on 95%. So in standby it lost only 5% after 8 hours. But I must say that I didnt use the phone at all, and the screen was turned off.

hi Guys,
IS anyone of you able to backup your phone image and post it with scatter file?
I ruined mine big time with Link2SD adventure and now half of the phone isnt working anymore. I'm unable to push recovery for example in any way. MTKDroidtools, mobile uncle, or ADB /Data/local permission denied error. So have to start from scratch basically.
Root guide and CWM backup can be found here.

Hi, I am currently at work, but will look into it when I come home. Is a normal backup done with mtk droid tools enough? or does it have to be a "readback" backup?

Thanksa lot!
I guess a normal Backup will do for now. if I can't load that through SP tools we'll have to explore further options :silly:

I have tried that once but will start again and not install any apps for now. I feel the battery is not a good one myself but we shall see. I have emailed Leagoo to see if they can replace the battery but I dont hold out any hope.
Are you using ART or DALVIK?
Edit to above.
After a full charge and factory reset with nothing installed. It lost 6% in 10 mins. Now down to 88% after 4 mins of browsing. I think it has to be the battery. The whole point of a large screen is using it.
Second edit.
I have now lost touch screen. The phone got really warm as it had been left to one side. It was very hot and touch would only work with a really firm touch. I pulled the battery and let it cool fully but touch responsiveness is almost zero and needs a very firm press to work sometimes. So looks like I have a faulty handset.
I don't relish returning it to China, maybe cost too much and they still may say its fine.

Sorry but the root guide dont work for me. When I run the Sony unlocker, and manually go into the fastboot, it still just hangs here?
Update1: OK i managed to proceed now, I just had to let the USB cable in the phone still. (not unplug the cable).
But after that Kingo just keeps rebooting and checking like forever.... (really many times) and ends with root failed.
After that I tried Mobile Uncle, and "log and debugging" and select User2Root, but after that still just not rooted.
Update2: OK for some strange reason, "Root checker" tells me it is not rooted. But when checking with MTK droid tools it now says ROOT (green) (after doing the User2Root in Mobile Uncle Tools). After MTK droid tools told me that it has ROOT, I was able to send SuperSU to the phone, so now it has full ROOT, and I saw a lot of stuff being send to the phone on the screen.
So doing a backup now....
Uploading to needrom now....

Okay. Thnx for backing it uo.
Do you have superuser installed? Kingoroot starts saying checking root access. When it does so. You go to mtk engineering mode and flip user2root and select root. Then Kingoroot recognises it and confirms root.
I'll rewrite the root guide as i have written it quickly more as a note than a proper instruction.. [emoji4]
Done

I just use standard DALVIK, do you have a screen protector on? mine came with a screenprotector attached. Maybe try to remove it? Maybe you could try to flash my ROM when it is approved on needrom.com, I guess you have not much to lose now. Of course it is still at your own risk.

I removed the screen protector on day one as I hate the feel of them. Its deffo faulty but not sure if its battery or something else causing it. Just tried it now and the screen is terrible. I can not even unlock the screen til about the 20th try and once unlocked when just swiping the home screen its like ghost touches and apps open.
I have emailed pandawill to see what the return policy is.

Your rom has been approved on needrom

I have a new battery on the way direct from Leagoo. Not sure if the battery is causing the touchscreen issue also? I know screens can play up with a bad battery or poor chargers so fingers crossed thats all it is. If not it will have to go back under warranty.
Not sure why I seem to have an even newer build of software ending in 705 or if thats the problem but I shall see once I get a new battery.

Done! downlaoded and installed and got it back on the road
Note: in SP flashtool (V3.1332.0 sn187) battery in / out doesn't work really. (endles connect/disconnect)
I chose option battery in. disconnect USB cable, hit F9, insert USB cable and there it goes.

Quick question, does this phone work with T-Mobile USA GSM 3G/4G? Or just WCDMA 3G? Thanks!
P.S. Great video review/unboxing! Really well done and informative, look forward to more from you

Lock Screen of Death (+ Some)

Ok guys, so I'm having an issue with my Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Whenever the screen times out, or you lock it, the screen will not come back on. The buttons will light up, but the screen is unresponsive. Hold the power button for a reboot and it reboots, screen works fine until the next lock. So obviously first thing, wiped everything, and reloaded Hypderdrive, only to get the same issue. So I go in again to recovery, and while I'm doing some research, TWRP times out and the screen goes black, and again, I'm unable to "wake" the device. Now I'm thinking hardware, but the power button is being recognized to lock it, so it should be recognized to unlock it as well and it is because the button lights come on. I've gone in, did a complete wipe including /system and /data and I'm currently trying to load a new rom to my microsd card to load, but the screen timed out again and I have to reboot the device back into recovery each time to get the screen to work. I'm pretty sure the root method I used, voided my warranty, so sending it in is probably not an option. When I reboot into download to check the status, It just says Downloading... Do not turn off target!! and I see no information in the top left of the screen. Anyone have any idea as to what could be causing the screen to do this? I'm kinda lost at this point! Thanks in advance.
P.S. So I was able to get into Download, and found my Current Binary is Custom, my System Status is Custom, and my Warranty Bit is 1, so I'd assume warranty is out of the option.
P.P.S I got a new rom loaded everything flashed fine, booted, let it set, when the screen timed out, again won't turn on. I can almost say 100% it's not a rom/Kernel issue. But beyond that I'm lost!

So I was messing with it some more after work today and found a few more pieces to the puzzle. After rebooting it in a bright room, I found the screen is on, but the backlight isn't. The screen is usable and responsive. Second thing is the brightness slider no longer works, it's just one brightness level and can't be adjusted. I've read online, that there maybe a loose ribbon cable, so I'm going to look into that alittle bit. I'm really hoping the backlight and LCD aren't shot! Again if anyone has any experience or ideas, please let me know!
SO I was using Triangle Away to try to clear the flash counter, as I was filling out a service request form from Samsung, and after the reboot the screen was brighter. I then tried the brightness slider..it worked and locked and unlocked it and the screen came back on. IDK what fixed it (maybe Triangle Away????) but it's working now! I'm hoping it sticks! I hope no one else has this issue, but maybe this will help!
Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I have found a solution! (at least for me)
There is suprisingly little to find about this issue, so that's why I've made this quick post.
I had this issue as well, but after flashing the stock modem (NON-HLOS.bin) it was resolved. (fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin)
Currently I'm on CM11S XNPH05Q with stock kernel, OnePlus One.
I think it had to do with me going back from CM12 (Lollipop-based) to CM11S (KitKat-based).
help urgently needed

I'm sorry man, but I have no experience with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014...
I tried to search for a solution, but I couldn't find much since there are all these different versions of the Note 10.1.
I think you have to use Odin to flash custom zips and such for your device.
I couldn't find the modem for the P601 (NON-HLOS.bin), but you could open a new thread asking for it?
I really hope you'll find a solution.
Also, have you tried a factory reset?
If you haven't done anything like rooting, flashing costom ROMs etc, your warranty shouldn't be void and you could return your device.
That's what I'd do.
Best of luck.

Hello mates!
I just had this problem some days ago, when i accidentaly dropped my sm p601. It was working fine so i wasnt worried at that time.
Next day it presented the exact symptoms that you guys described. The screen couldn't be turned on after being turned off, brightness controls not working.
I realized it could be a hardware problem because of the drop that the device suffered, then i stumbled in this topic where our friend scoot05redss mentioned:

Well, since i live in Brazil and we have little to none authorized customer service support from Samsung, i decided to open the device.
(I searched for a disassembly video in youtube. There are one or two avaliable)
It happens that the mentioned LCD ribbon cable is the first thing to pop up when you open the device, so i decided to give it a try, and guess what, it worked.
I just opened the device, lifted the cable lock (that black plastic thing that sits upon the cable) and i gently moved the cable inside the conector (I didn't even had to remove it).
Closed, turned on, everything working as before.
Ps.: Its kinda hard to open the device without the appropriate tool shown in the video, but i managed to open it with a knife, taking maximum care not to leave marks in the screen (the silver frame however couldnt be spared from some scratches.
Thanks for the help!
I can confirm that disconnecting the LCD ribbon cable while the unit is on, reconnecting it, and then rebooting the device fixed the issue for me. My wife accidentally knocked it off her nightstand and while using it during the middle of the next day the screen suddenly faded to black. After noticing that the screen was still on but the back light wasn't working, I popped it open and tried disconnecting the battery but didn't try the LCD ribbon, didn't think that'd make a difference. But I'm glad that's all it was!
Ive got this issue on a grand prime sm-g361h as soon as i lock the screen or it times out thats it, doesn't turn back on until i hard reboot it. super frustrating.. going to try flash a modem to see if it fixes

Color issue after screen off
My Note 10.1 2014 (P605) is ruining smoothly for 3.5+ years without much trouble. Now, it's screen is giving some color issue. Tab boots fine and colours shown correctly. Once screen is off, it start to invert (not sure whether the correct word) colours. Later I observed screen not switching on but accepting touch commands.
I tried color invert setting, it seems not effective. Flex cable was not loose but sometimes reconnecting resolved temporally. Re-flashed the OS but issue came up after few days. This may seems like screen fault, but screen working fine at boot till screen off.
Does anyone have similar experience or advice to help me out.

I was been displayed dark screen (Death screen) by shock on road. Because I put my tablet Samsung note 10.1 P601 (2014 edition) in basket of motorbike. These are solutions:
- Case 1:
If dark screen and the buttons are light up like this question then you need unplug only LCD cable inside tablet and plug again.
- Case 2:
If Death screen and it's no light then you need plug and replug power cable and LCD cable inside table.
" 2 these case you can search and see YouTube How to open and fix black screen Samsung note 10.1 2014"

Living after few months with this problem I can conclude following.
1. It is very difficult to find a pattern for screen to go pink or black. However, I noticed that problem comes frequently when it was used by my baby.
2. Disconnecting and reconnecting LCD cable temporarily resolve problem every time. May be hoangctm is more accurate on procedure.
3. I use this tablet every day. 45min video, 2 x 15min streaming and 1 h reading. Steady use of tablet does not give problems.
4. It is possible to replace LCD flex cable without dismantling screen and this is my next step.
I was also experiencing this issue. What would happen is that my Samsung Galaxy Note 14.1 would work well after a reset but as soon as it locked you couldn't see the screen.
I tried the solution posted in this forum. I opened up the tablet and repositioned the LCD ribbon cable while the screen was active. The tablet is now working well. I can activate the tablet properly after the screen has locked. Thank you all.

[Q] SGT3-7" Boots up w/no logo and no pic (updated to kitkat 1 day previously)

Title pretty much says the basics.
Details however are as follows.
SM-T210R, Have had this unit for about a year, always been in a case, never dropped, not a scratch/dent/ding on it and I use it every day.
Past couple weeks I was getting update notification from Samsung, I'd always put it off till I got home then not bother when I actually got there.
Finally, a long weekend for me.. I let the update run its course, No problems (500+MB's) And I believe it was upgrade to Kitkat from Jellybean.
Can't remember the exact version details.
Soooo, I use my tablet throughout the day everything seems to work great NO problems at all.
Notice my battery is down to like 20-25% and plug it in (Original wall charger and cable)
Go to get it the next morning, open the case expecting it to flash and display my lock/swipe screen, Nothing.. Not TOTALLY Black, you can see theres still a glow.
The screen still responds to touches ( I can swipe to unlock it and hear the sound)
I tried to reset power. Nope nothing except I can hear the startup tune.
Tried hard reset, nope same thing.
Tried every button combo I could think of or contort my hands/feet into.. Nope no joy.
Hit the internet... read, read, read, read, watch videos, watch more videos..
Ah-ha take the back off, disco battery, wait, replug and voila.
Nope.. not the issue
Different milliamp chargers, nope.
WTF??
Normally I'd think I did something to it, but I did nothing that I hadn't done at least 200 times already.
I'm convinced Samsung F'd my tablet w/their update, not only that but my $1200.00 drone sits idle over my holiday because my vision app resides on my sgt3.
Ideas?
My best solution so far...
Well its been like 2 days since my sgt3 lost its mind.
Found a solution.
EVGA - Tegra Note 7. (No hyperlinks allowed for me....Yet)
nvidia.ca/object/evga-tegra-note-tablet
DAYUMMMMM.
This thing blows my SGT3 right off the map.
Still would like to find a REAL solution, there's alot of configurations on my SGT3.
But in the meantime I think this'll keep me almost content.

Thanks Jason, I've not messed w/flashing the firmware through pc on this thing yet.
I've done it w/psp's, motherboards, routers etc, but never w/one of my tabs.

No, you don't need the display on your Tab, you just need Kies and Odin on your PC.
Place your Tab in Downloadmode(VolDown+Home+Power, release All buttons when you see the warning, press VolUp) then choose your PDA firmware in Odin(Obtain firmware from SamMobile) an hit start. After this boot into recovery and wipe/factory reset your tab if it's not booting!
Good Luck

Hey Daniel, Thanks for the info.
I found Odin was pretty easy to flash with.
I've tried 4 different FW images for the GT3-7 and taken the unit (almost) completely apart w/the exception of removing the actual digitizer and the lcd.
Same results after each install though.
It boots, plays the boot sound, but no display.
I guess next step is removing the screen.. After that I don't know what to do except possibly getting myself a lcd replacement..
Just might drop it off to one of the local shops and get them to do it that way I won't wind up paying for something and f'ing it up.
No joy w/my sgt3..

[Q] Device reboots after SIM unlock

Hi all,
recently my D855 with v20T (root/xposed) started to sort of randomly reboot. It seems like once the device gets too hot, it's gone.
Happens rarely during general usage, often while playing a game, and especially often when starting the camera.
But it behaves strangely in general: if I do *not* unlock the SIM (and thus can't use the phone), the device runs forever, without a reboot, no matter what the device temperature is. Same for recovery (TWRP), it can stay there for hours and heat up however it likes, no reboot.
Removing the SIM and/or microSD does not make a difference, battery level does not matter.
I pulled a backup of the stock ROM, wiped everything (system, data, cache, dalvik) and flashed Fulmics 5.
Unlocking worked once or twice, the next time I entered my SIM pin, the lock screen showed, then reboot. This behaviour (unlock SIM, reboot) repeats endlessly. If I leave it turned off for 10-15 minutes - or sitting at the SIM unlock screen - it most of the time works fine after unlocking.
Wiped again, flashed robalm's v30F ROM.
Guess what, exactly the same.
On both variants, the phone got rather hot during the "optimizing app x of 190" screen, but never rebooted, only after I unlocked the SIM.
Let it sit overnight on the unlock screen, no reboot at all. Unlocked this morning, added my google account, rebooted - same thing again.
It's starting to drive me crazy, now it froze right in the middle of setting up the google account after another clean flash.
Is the phone prone for repair, or can anyone think of another solution to this weird issue?
Edit: Fun fact: if I manage to do the lock screen swipe before the SIM lock screen comes up, the phone reboots instantly as well.
Edit2: Followed the instructions from this thread to go back to completely stock v20T. Rebooted after optimizing apps before I could even choose a language, ran seemingly fine after this, started bootlooping after the first manual reboot. A full wipe later (volDn+Power) it at least boots. What the hell?
Thank you and best regards,
Sub
I have similar problem. Cant connect issue with exact cause, but it restarts almost every few minutes of use. Camera launch causes restart almost immediately. Phone is unusable. My VolDn button is not working so I'm currently a bit afraid to try anything new... I updated from Fulmics4.1 (i havent got reboot problems since last 1,5week ago) to 5.1 but issue persists even after full wipe. Seriously dont know what to think about it.
At first I thought that reboots are caused by low power (much more frequent with battery under 30%), then maybe big cpu load or high brightness.... now basically everything causes reboots. Im really annoyed this phone been crap since day one...
I havent tried your sim unclocking method as my doesnt have pin security etc. Let me know if you will find out solution.

Just received the device back from LG, they replaced the mainboard, even got a new IMEI and v30c preinstalled.
It is the same case, with the protective glass on top and a dent on the left plus the 2-3 micro-cracks around the frame.
Not sure if they swapped the battery. The problem showed up again with anywhere between 50 and 15 percent battery left.
Unfortunately I only tested it after leaving the shop, after a long walk to the bus which I caught just in time.
Setup assistant completed -> reboot.
Google setup nearly completed -> reboot.
Removed SIM and MicroSD, started phone, started camera, made a movie -> reboot.
Wiped again (strange enough, v30c only has 61 applications to optimize while v20* has 190+?), tried again, same thing.
Next, after letting the back camera take a movie for 2-3 minutes, I wanted to adjust display brightness to the max.
Result: see screenshot. This also happened with the cable plugged in.
I will return it for repair once more tomorrow...
Anyway, thank you for your answers

It's a common thing if you use camera specially if you take video in 4k mode your phone heat up and you can't use full brightness in stock rom it's a feature try moded thermal config...also try new battery if battery percentage suddenly dropped it seems battery issue because i face the same problem....

I used to have thermals installed, the 75 dregrees Celsius variant, iirc.
Everything else was at stock, except for one short excursion to CM12 and one to ... some custom ROM.
Think I never actually took 4k videos, and the first 1,5 years the phone got a bit warmer but never really hot. Only recently it started to get really hot especially when using the camera, this also consistently was what could cause the reboot loops for sure. Other candidates were a few games which use more processing power like Alto's Adventure.
The battery drops by 2-3% after a reboot, because of the load the phone has (and the heat it develops during boot).
Anyway, I added the screenshot to the next repair request, and the woman at the counter said they'd look into the battery specifically (it seems to give out too much voltage, she said), but also check everything else once more.
I'll let them repair up to three times, then ask for a replacement, should be legal within 2 years after purchase in Germany.
Also, next time I'll take the 15 minutes (before doing a 1h/direction trip) to factory reset the phone, set it up and start the camera. If it reboots during any of this -> return, repeat.
Regards,
sub
Received my phone back from LG, finally.
Battery's broken - it outputs too much power.
Ordered a new battery and just put it in, so far no reboots during setup.
At least this got me a new mainboard and new IMEI

Hahahahahahahahaha
I just wondered why the phone shows 25 GB free everywhere, even without SD.
Turns out, during repair instead of replacing the 16GB/2GB board with an identical one, they installed the 32GB/3GB board

Smartisan Nut Pro in Europe

Just a quick note to say to anyone thinking of buying the Nut Pro to use in Europe: It definitely works in the UK. I am on the PlusNet (EE) network, living in the UK and the 'phone works very well. I am getting 4G (when available) and had no problems getting the phone to register on the network, just put the SIM in, switched on and was connected straight away.
Almost everything on the 'phone appears to work correctly. The weather app looks lovely but struggles to locate me (it thinks I'm in a city 60+ miles away) but I can live with that. Many of the apps I transferred from my old 'phone that were then installed from the Smartisan app store didn't work correctly so I ended up deleting them and re-installing them from the Google Play Store which was very easy to install. They then worked without problems. The Smartisan browser has a home page that is full of Chinese news and/or links to Chinese web pages, which I can't seem to change, although it works well in all other respects. I have a preference for Opera on my 'phone so I use this in preference to the Smartisan installed one meaning this isn't a problem anyway.
Everything else? It all works really. I haven't found anything that doesn't work properly that I can recall. The music player app forgets what it was playing after a Bluetooth device has been disconnected from it which means I have to open the music player to re-start the music, again not a huge issue anyway.
If you were thinking of buying the Nuts Pro I can't recommend it more. It is one of the most wonderful 'phones I've ever had. The modifications made to the Android OS make everything more beautiful to do and add so much style to the operation of the whole 'phone. This is a wonderful device, I absolutely love it. Don't let the fact that it isn't officially supported in Europe put you off. Assuming you can speak English (no other European languages are installed) you should have no problems, network support not withstanding.
What's the camera quality like... I've heard good things about it. Is it rooted?
Sorry, as you probably can tell, I don't visit often enough to respond to questions in a timely fashion.
Regarding the camera question (probably long forgotten by the poster) the quality is good. Every 'phone I get I take some comparison shots of local landmarks to compare them too.
If I was to rate it against 'phones that you might have experienced, and score them out of ten:
Blackberry Priv. 10
Huawei P9. 9
SmartisanNut Pro. 8
Sincere apologies for not responding until six months after your question, sorry.
Since the most recent update to the software (V 6.0.0.1) my 'phone battery has been draining itself overnight, from 70% or more at bedtime to 0% by breakfast.
I have been trying for two days to downgrade the software to a previous one, with little success. I've actually today ordered an inexpensive 'phone to reluctantly replace the Smartisan (I still absolutely love the 'phone). Not an hour after I placed my order, you guessed it, I finally managed the magic combination of key presses required to enter recovery mode.
In a few steps, here's how I did it:
1. Download a full copy of the Smartisan OS, I used V 4.1.0.2 as I had a copy of this saved on my iMac already. According to the (Chinese) Smartisan Forum, 3.7.9 is favoured, but I didn't have a copy of that. File size for this file is around 1.8Gb
2. Copy the downloaded .Zip file to the root drive of the Smartisan internal storage.
3. Turn off the 'phone screen by pressing and holding the 'Home' button. [Not sure if turning off the screen using the 'Home' button is important, if it is you might have to enable this option in the button shortcuts settings]
4. Press and hold: Volume+, Volume-, Power and Home. Ignore any prompts on the screen to power down. Keep all four buttons pressed in until the 'phone switches off.
5. As soon as the boot logo (Hammer icon) appears on the screen, release all buttons.
6. Use the Volume +/- buttons to select 'Update System from SD' then press the power button.
7. Use the Volume +/- buttons to navigate to the location that you saved the update file to. [This is why it is recommended to save it in the root directory of the 'phone storage]
8. Press the Power button to start the update.
The whole time to update took about 5 minutes or so, then I had to select 'Reboot'. The boot time took a little longer than normal but once rebooted all my apps were in place, almost everything worked normally, immediately.
Some of the Google apps (including the Smartisan Mail and Calendar apps which I have linked to a Google Account) failed to sync which concerned me for a while. I simply deleted my Google account from the 'phone and then set up the account again and my Email, Contacts and Calendar all returned.
I did not wipe the cache, return to factory settings or anything else as I was hoping not to have to re-install all my apps and accounts one by one again if I could help it. As the underlying "Android" OS is still V7 between the V4 and V6 Smartisan OS versions, I hoped this wouldn't be needed. Perhaps other people won't be so lucky.
I'd already ordered a replacement 'phone so if I'd bricked the Smartisan, I'd be upset, but not I wouldn't be without a 'phone.
I would suggest you back up everything important to you, before trying this downgrade as it is possible you will be left with a totally non-working 'phone.
I do still really like the 'phone. If reinstalling a previous operating system fails to cure the problem of the excessive battery consumption I shall be really sorry.
One of the previous updates to the system added a very effective Face Unlock feature. It is possible that this isn't very secure, I have no way to tell, but it works reliably (unless the light is coming from behind me) and I've not found a way of fooling using pictures, photographs or other people.
First of all thanx to mkstevo for opening this topic. I own three Nut Pro phones and they really are wonderful devices. My story is a bit more complicated so maybe it will help someone. I gave a red Nut Pro 4/64 to my girlfirend. It was updated to the latest Smartisan OS OTA (6.X). After only a few days the phone restarted by itself and displayed only Smartisan logo. If you connected it to pc, red notification blinked for a few times (never a good sign).
With my experience with flashing i sensed the phone didn't have a hardware error but it was connected with sw. And also the thought you could never actually brick Snapdragon phones to the point of no return kept me optimistic.
I could get into recovery but couldn't load a rom onto my internal storage. The sd card and OTG usb drive were not recognized (no matter how i formatted them). I could only use adb sideload which was working but the end result was always 0. SO no progress.
It is really hard to find any info or rom about this phone, but unbrick guides are virtually non existent. After hours of Google translate I found a link on a russian site to this rom which should be QFIL flashable (pass: 5pn2) After downloading it for 2 days a lot of captchas and jdownloader sessions i got the rom from baidu.
Next challenge was to put the Nut Pro into EDL (i already had a edl cable prepared). It turns out you should press volume+, volume- and edl button when starting the device and when Smartisan logo appears - you should let them all go. The device starts blinking red constantly and you have Qualcomm Qloader 9008 in the device manager.
After that i loaded the firehouse and xml files and the flashing actually proceeded to the end with success. But the phone still didn't boot up but rather went straight into Smartisan recovery. Something told me to try and "adb sideload" one last time. Not really expecting anything I took the oldest rom i could find (3.6) and sideloaded it and this time adb sideload said success and 1. And to my surprise the device booted up normally.
I do not know what caused the crash. Maybe it was an incompatibility with some app or just a bug in the latest version of Smartisan OS. After 2 weeks of use we couldn't recreate the problem. Other 2 devices are also running fine. EDL flashing obviously reached the partitions that were messed up and couldn't be repaired otherwise.
SO if you ever run into a problem, this is probably the only source you can find about this phone. And it's a great phone, a joy to use and something totally different software wise. There are newer and better Smartisans out, but this one is fairly cheap, has a great screen, great battery, solid camera and is build like nothing on the market.
p.s.
if anybody has a hard time finding roms on bbs.smartisan or on their official site, here is a collection of Nut Pro roms.

Oneplus 3 with display issue, or motherboard?

Hi all!
My father's Oneplus 3 (A3003, 64gb) died a few days ago while he was waiting for his new oneplus 6 (if only it died after migrating... sigh), and i'm trying to troubleshoot it.
The display went dark after a night, no led, nothing. He plugged it to a computer, and a device called HS-USB Qdloader 9008 appeared in the device manager.
I thought it was bricked, so we followed the unbrick stepps (even the full package).
Nothing happened on the display after reboot, black screen after a short vibration, then a few minutes later another vibration, and so on...
I let it alone for a few days then tried again to see what was happening, and went again with the unbrick process. This time it completed successfully and i was able to see something on the display, but very very dim!
It booted to the stock OOS, then it rebooted right after arriving on the OOBE, and it froze while booting after that.
Again i let it alone for a few hours, and tried again, outside in the cold. This time it "worked", with the very very dim display though, i could barely see what was happening on the screen, but i was able to set it up including wifi and play store, and i could do a benchmark using geekbench successfully (score was on par with other OP3).
I went inside and tried again a few hours later, and it froze right after launching the benchmark, rebooted and froze during boot. Then i could do nothing to make it boot again (while it was warm anyway).
tl;dr : It only "works" when it is cold, and the display is barely readable. I'm thinking it could be the motherboard or the display, but would a display issue cause the reboots when getting warm? Seems weird to me!
i attached pictures of the failing OP3 next to my OP3T to highlight the display issue, the "band" visible on the 1st picture is not visible to the bare eye, only on camera and it "moves", no idea why this happens.
EDIT : i was able to unlock it while it was "working", if it is of any importance...

Looks like a Display issue. It is possible that it triggers the booting issue, though I am not sure about the "hot & cold" issue. May be a loose connection. Did it suffer a fall in the past? If you are upto it, check some videos on opening the phone and check and clean the connections. It may help.

Thanks for your answer, i just looked at the requirements to open it, and i need a T2 screwdriver, which i do not have yet, the smallest i have is a T3 unfortunately.
I think it did fall a few times, but no issue right after at least. It may have loosen the connections though, you're right...

You just need to Flash Latest OOS
this type of issue was happened to me 2 months ago, i successfully recovered display by Hard bricked method
first of all i used Qualcomm hard bricked method to get my 1+3t to working condition (display was as you showed in picture) with Qualcomm Tool's Old builtin firmware
then i I flashed OOS 5.0.4 and its all done with Bright Display. I did not opened the phone.

Thanks ! I sideloaded oos 5.0.8 and now the display is fine !
It still freezes when getting warm every time, if I put it outside in the cold i can do benchmarks without issues, but as soon as I try the same inside it freezes. Since I already unbricked it, it seems hardware related but outside of the motherboard, what could be the reason ? Can the battery be responsable for that ?
The freeze happens very quickly inside, it does not get hot, barely warm at the top of the screen.
as far as my idea is concern you have another 1+3/t, to confirm battery issue swap your motherboard or battery with the other one, it'll confirm the battery. other than battery issue check lose connections/rust and thermal issue, if got any clean connection strips then reconnect. my 1+3t never got hot from any side ever.
