[Q] How to install Xposed Framework on Xperia M? - Sony Xperia M

Hey people,
How would I go about installing the XPOSED FRAMEWORK on my Sony Xperia M? I am on 4.3 15.4.A.9 or whatever it is. I have Titanium Backup Pro, have backed up. My boot loader is locked. I really can't afford for the device to brick/bootloop. Does anyone have a successful way? Because I want to tweak my System Bar as well...
Any help would be appreciated.
-cheesedude.

I've never had and problem with installing Xposed as you should do.
1) Install the Xposed .apk
2) Open Xposed and tap Framework
3) Make sure Installation Mode is on Classical (change it if it isn't)
4) Tap Install/Update, let the framework install.
5) Reboot

Latest version of xposed framework.

Hi. This actually is my first post, so Yay.
I rooted my phone using adb fastboot thing and I installed xposed. And now, I don't know what I've done, but I'm not able to install any module. In fact, no apks either.. Any help appreciated!

Reflash the stock firmware, and root again, according to your bootloader status.

Thanks man
My bootloader is unlocked. Where do I get the stock firmware? Has this happened to anyone?

Never happened to me before. All I did (locked bootloader) is to have full root, install Xposed Installer, install the framework, reboot, install any module, then activate and reboot. Never had any issues.

Change of plans ;P
I actually want to flash a custom rom, but I'm not able to decide, because of the large variety.. Please give me some links, guys? I'm sorry for troubling you; I feel like a pain in the neck..
EDIT : if what I just said was absolutely irrelevant to the topic, please shoot me :\

Hey man,I don't think you need a custom rom,I've done everything I want without downloading a custom rom, however before doing anything make sure you have full root (the ability to edit system files not just view them), if you don't have full root anything you do will get your phone to reboot and fc,,
First of all I have cwm, deodoxed rom, unlocked bl but I mainly use them.to install mods like the m2 systemui but I think there's a way for locked bootloader and odexed by using flash gordon or something like that (the method is explained in the mod's thread).
Moreover is this my phones systemui, I've installed xposed without any problems
1. Download xposed installer
2. Pressed classic install
3. Rebooted my phone
4. Download 4 main mods
A. Gem xperia xposed
Using it for: the transparent status and navigation bar, the menu mod, the extra hidden apps button, the kitkat thing when you open an app and the navigation and status bar gets shaddy
B. Tinted status bar
C. Advanced power menu
To add a reboot button
D. Im really sorry I've forgotten its name but it's used for changing the navigation bar icons but I Uninstalled it for a simple reason, in stock xperia icons in opera mini a 4th button is added and it's hidden in other apps, but while using this mod I had to show the 4th (menu) button all the time
Ps: I dont reboot after modding systemui or luncher I simply restart it
If you like what I've done ill post the method for using gem xperia and tinted status bar

Sorry I forgot to attach these Images, this is the final result
If I helped you don't forget to press the thanks button

Thanks, all of you! I'll try redoing this after my exams...

Before doing anything
-download the ftf file of the latest software for your phone
-install flashtool and drivers.
-Enable USB debugging and
-backup your phone (a normal backup no need for root apps and all that stuff)
-Learn how to flash an ftf
If you have an unlocked bootloader all you need is cwm and a nandroid backup and of course flashtool in case anything got wrong and you messed the kernel
Don't worry, I bricked my phone many times

Okay guys, I realised what the problem was. I was using a Screen Filter, so I wasn't able to install anything. In case anyone else comes with this problem, make sure you pause the filter or blacklist the package installer (most filter apps do this on their own; mine apparently didn't :\).

[GUIDE] [MOD][ICS][XPOSED] Tweakbox(Volume Button Skip) w/ Working INSTAGRAM!!

As some of you may know....... Many people are frustrated that you can't have the volume button Skip hack and have ability to use the Instagram App.......:crying: Well, I've found a quick work around without having to DL an add-on or additional script to get it to work....
If you don't have them already.... you just need the simple following:
Xposed Installer
And
TweakBox
Please click the links above for installation instructions......
1) Once, you have installed Xposed Installer and Tweakbox (Again Please Click the Links above for the directions) you would proceed with the install and selecting what you what Tweakbox to do.
2) After You Install .... YOU MUST REBOOT!
3) After the reboot, Go back to Xposed Installer and Click "Uninstall (restore app_process)"
4) DO NOT REBOOT.... IT WILL SAY YOU NEED TO REBOOT FOR CHANGES TO TAKE PLACE.... Ignore that and go about you way... You now have the ability to Skip Songs with the volume buttons with the screen off and YES you can use Instagram..
5) Enjoy and Share instagram pics!
I do not take credit for the TweakBox or Xposed Installer but just to help the fellow community out on getting these 2 apps to work.... Below is my cheesy video showing that this works.... Enjoy and don't forget to hit that Thanks Button :good:

Actually, there's a version that runs on both ICS and JB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34609290#post34609290
It's still not the final 2.0 version as some adjustments are being done by rovo and myself. A permanent fix to the Instagram insue should be part of that final release as well.
HI, just adding that this also crashes the Reddit News App but your solution "fixes" it.:victory:

[A] Mods without hacking APKs or custom rom (multiwindow any app)

Install and run Exploit apk to get root:
Install XposedInstaller-ICS_JB-rc2.apk, follow instructions on post.
Install XposedMultiWindow.apk.
Open the Xposed Installer app (installed in step 2). Click 'Modules', then check 'xMulti Window Mod', and reboot. (activates the run-time patch allowing all apps to be multiwindow compatible).
BTW, there are more cool Xposed modules (like call recording, per-app dpi, and no 100% battery notification) you can download here. Xposedframework eliminates the need for stock rom chefs imho.
Amazing

How do I know if the multi-window works? I followed all these steps, but what I got is exactly the same as before. Where is the multi-window and how to call it out? Tried long press the return button but nothing happened. Or it does not work for T-mobile device?
I have completed the installation and have to admit that this made my night. Huge props to the person who developed this. Installing on my partners note 2 as well. Looking forward to seeing what else xposed comesbup with

Did you do the T-mobile update from yesterday? If so toggle multi window on in Settings--->Display. If you've done that then hold down your back button for a couple seconds the multi window should pop up at the left. You can hold back to hide it again.

Updated the subject. As the post above states, you need to be running the newest update.
This situation is an excellent example of why the xposed framework is such a great way to mod.
Had this been a standard flash patch, you would likely have force closes, or worse a soft brick.
With xposed, those problems are a thing of the past. If it can't hook the mod in, nothing happens (just as you are seeing). Hopefully in a future release there will be some indicator if a mod cant be hooked in.
Nevermind... got it working. F'n awesome, thank you!
Thank you for posting this mod. This made my day - I like keeping my phones with stock rom for as long as I can for stability sakes, and this mod is just what I needed.
Are there any draw backs to this mod? I was reading the original Exploit apk post and some are talking about a green camera screen.

If you just root through the app you'll be fine. The green camera screen happens when you check the boxes to actually disable the exploit.

Can someone please answer this? I don't want to get this mod and have every single app of mine show up on the multi window list, I just want a certain selection of apps
edit: nevermind, I installed it and you get to choose the apps to add to the list if anyone is wondering. They don't all just show up on the bar, you get a list of yours app and you edit the bar to choose what you want to add
Maybe you misunderstood him? All apps will only show when you click on edit. From that edit screen, you can then drag specific apps over to the multiview bar. After you're done editing, only apps you dragged over will show on the bar.
So two different things here: edit screen and the bar itself.

One question on this root process, can we install and use overclock applications such as SetCPU and TunerPro?
And if we had to, can the process be reversed and go back to stock unroot Note II?
Thank you.

1. Yes, once you're rooted, you can use apps that request root like SetCPU, Titanium Backup, AdAway, etc.
2. Yes, if you're on stock rom and recovery, you just go to SuperSu > Settings > Full Unroot.

Why do you guys keep flashing things without making a backup first?! Unfortunately there is no other way for you to get back to working order; you have to LGPST back to stock. Next time make a backup if you're going to flash ANYTHING.

I had something simpler happen with exposed framework, my status bar would disappear then I would get an error "system UI has stopped" . Just un installed all modules and removed exposed. Not sure if you are using exposed. But that's how I fixed mine.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??
Can a mod move this to the Q&A section please before it gets out of hand. Not flaming you bro but we as a community need to keep things in order and post where we are supposed to post. Don't worry we've all posted in the wrong section a time or two.

You dont need to flash the whole thing just overwrite LGSystemUI.apk with the original one I attached, set correct permission and reboot.
You should backup any file you decide to change first..luckily the phone will still boot with a bad systemui apk
Hopefully that fixes it, hopefully what he flashed didn't change any other files outside of Systemui.

Thanks for the apk and sorry about posting in the wrong forum at first.....
How exactly should I go about installing the new apk though? When I used Package Installer it keeps saying "Application not installed" and doesn't run. Sideload Wonder Machine or something equivalent maybe? I had a tough time today with setting up LGPST so I'd like to save that as a last resort if possible.... Thanks for the responses though!
Never mind....figured it out. Forgot it had to be pushed over.... Needless to say I need to spend some more time around Android! It's been a while since I first got in the game.
Status bar is back up and running, and it even maintained removal of the QSlide Apps portion, which is what I was trying to fix all along -- my original screw up! All's well that ends well I guess.
Thanks all for your help! :good:

Screen off animation for HTC M9 and xposed installation

After searching high and low, i've finally found the screen off animation i wanted, this particular mod is not mine i'm just providing a find for anyone who is in the same situation.
Thanks to @zst123 for originally posting this
Requirements:
Root access
Custom recovery
Rom running android 5.0XXX
Also note functional on 5.1.XXX ROMs.
*New section for Marshmallow ROMs.
1. Go here and download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3292041&d=1430517906
or this one if you're on android 5.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3313055&d=1431639027
or this one if you're on android 6.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3631566&d=1454436795
2. Download the Alpha build xposed framework from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3200857&d=1425849071
or this one if you're on android 6.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440
3. Reboot to recovery and install the .21 or build or the .22 build if you're on 5.1XXX or the v80 sdk23 build if you're on 6.0.XXXX then reboot *NOTE* boot can take some time, 10 minutes at times
4. Once booted, install the alpha build apk downloaded in step 2 using a file manager.
5. Open Xposed and navigate to download, search for screen off animation and download the module.
6. Navigate to modules and enable them, reboot your device.
7. Open the app and choose a screen off animation.
8. Perform a reboot, Done.
FYI, it has been known that xposed can cause bootloops on the M9 so tread carefully and back up prior to installing it.
I can confirm that this and xposed with this installation method works as expected on Leedroid, other ROM's should work but I haven't tested them.
Can also confirm that for the most part, sense 6 toolbox and XUI Mod work too, and again this is not my software.
PS: Just like to add that the screen off Vertu animation is my personal favourite, it's a classy finish to a phone that deserves it.
------------------THEMING------------------
@ineedone This is his theme.
You need to flash the theme after xposed, clearing cache and dalvic after the initial installation of Chameleon. If you don't then you can (not always) end up in a boot loop, if you didn't wipe the caches then power down and boot back to recovery.
The initial boot after wiping the caches can take a long time, 10 minutes + is not uncommon.
This can also be assumed for any other mods which affect a lot of the ROMs system files.
Confirmed with Newest Leedroid and chameleon.

Tested , it loads and stuff but none of the features really work.

Aye I've used gravity before but have avoided it as I get everything I need from xui and screen off animation. I don't even use sense toolbox no more. I've read that Xposed works with 5.1 and there is a framework for it but as I haven't tested it on a HTC device I've not added it to the OP that its fully functional.
Gravity needs a big update, there have been quite a few broken bits for a while, also found gravity was always very heavy on the system too, might have just been me.

Stock as in not rooted or stock as in rooted on a stock rom, if it's the latter then it should work. That's probably the best way to use these mods. Unfortunately screen off animation as far as I know does not function as of yet. I'm away for a week now, but will be doing some testing of all the mods on my return.
Stock, rooted. Ive never had this much trouble just to get xposed.
Basically i:
1. Unlocked bl
2. Twrp
3. Backup of system image
4. Root
5. Xposed zip for arm64
6. Installed xposed apk
7. When trying to launch amplify it says xposed isn't running, even if xposed says it's active
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
That is literally what you are meant to do, some modules are functional, some aren't. For me the screen off animation didn't work and so strange as it might sound, I would miss it and as such I have retained 5.0.2, I really do not see any difference between the two, all modules work, nothing appears broken to me and the battery life is as good as I need it to be. To answer your question in short I get the same message with screen off animation, as if it's not installed. It's because it's not been updated. Either wait for it to be updated or downgrade like me
Updated op. Screen off animation working properly on 5.1, been using it for a while now.

Usually says that when either xposed isn't installed properly or the module hasn't been updated and you'll have to wait.
Follow the tutorial to install xposed, you can't miss.

And replace soft reboot with a regular reboot. Also had some bad experiences with particular modules. After a regular reboot they all worked fine

Actually in that part of the tutorial, you only need a soft reboot. Regular if you need it but not necessary.

Boot loops are a risk I've written how I was able to get xposed without boot loops but I've also warned that it can happen. If you follow my instructions you stand a food good chance

How to remove status bar clock WITHOUT xposed?

I tried xposed and fell the phone choppier so dont want to deal with it. Im rooted and twrp. Any zip or buildpro to disable it. I search and couldnt find anything other than people recomending gravitybox or similar modules to remove it. I actually did partially remove it with Nova launcher,. Which has a setting if u are rooted it does remove the clock but only in home screen. Thanx
Get a ROM that has this functionality built in ...
Don't know what went wrong in your case, but simply flashing Xposed without modules doesn't change anything and Xposed alone can't cause issues.

Grab systemUI.apk , decompile it and make changes to statusbar.xml and similar, recompile it and push back.
This is the way around xposed.
Alrighty thanx. I gave xposed another tried after clean install and is good now. The first time everything got choppy was with installing android nify. Everything was choppy even after uninstalling it. I didnt this time and all goood
