[Q] Verizon HTC M8 to GPE (for use on AT&T) - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know that converting the HTC One (M8) to GPE for Verizon is said to be a no-no, because it doesn't work with the CDMA radio. My question is, I'm getting ready to switch carriers to AT&T, and was wondering, since I don't need CDMA, does this work? Has anybody tried? I'm looking to do this only if I can keep the stock bootloader, so I can receive OTA updates. Also, I'm wondering if this will let me use the correct combination of LTE bands to use LTE data on AT&T.

Needing assistance going to Straight Talk

Hello,
I currently have a Verizon HTC One M8 (s-off, rooted, custom rom) I am trying to switch to straight talk (ST).... ST is telling me that this phone is not compatible with their service.... I have read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710606 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/general/moving-to-att-t2845935 that users have switched there VZW device to straight talk.. I purchased a BYOP kit and am haveing difficulty getting anything activated.. Look for all available assistance....
They might be confused and thinking that you are trying to bring a purely CDMA Verizon phone to their GSM network (which is a common mistake); and not understanding that the M8 has both CDMA and GSM.
Maybe talk to them again and explain that the device supports GSM?

How do I convert a t-mobile HTC one m8 to Verizon?

Excuse my noobness but I have tried to search for this answer without success. There are various how to's on how to convert a Verizon htc one m8 to t mobile but none on how to convert a t-mobile HTC one m8 to be used on Verizon. I have the unlock code and that part worked but it would not connect at all. What can I do here? Willing to flash or do anything at this point.
Yes I had to cut the Sim card in order to make it fit.
It wont work. TMO is a GSM / LTE device and Verizon is CDMA / LTE. At best you might get some data but thats it.
Buy a Verizon one if thats what your wanting.

T-Mobile HTC 10 CDMA

I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I thought I'd just get confirmation. Does the HTC 10 from T-mobile have any CDMA bands? Like to use it on Verizon? I'm getting a T-mobile one from a special program but I'm on Verizon, if not I'm sure my girlfriend will be happy with her new HTC 10.

The T-Mobile variant will work fine on verizon if you pay for the s-off through sunshine and then follow this guide to convert it to verzion

You sure this will allow it to work on Verizon? Can anyone else confirm that the CDMA bands are indeed present?

Buying Unlocked HTC one M9 - Future T-mobile Issues?

My family has a contract with T-Mobile, and I am looking at buying a factory unlocked version of it that has not been activated on any network.
I have heard about wi-fi calling not working unless I flash a T-mobile stock rom to it; is this simply referring to the roms on the htc support website or is it about something else?
Will 4g lte work? I checked and it seems that it uses the same bands as the T-mobile but are there other factors in this?
Will there be any other potential issues I should check for?
I am not phone-savvy so any and all help will be incredibly appreciated!
I have the developer edition M9 on T-Mobile (USA) and can confirm that there are no reception issues (full 4G/LTE compatibility). You are correct about wifi calling - this is baked into the T-Mobile ROM. If you achieve S-OFF and change the CID & MID, you can install that and have wifi calling too. There are guides aplenty and we're happy to help you if you go that route.
T-Mobile is pretty great with getting software updates out in a timely manner, but they have not yet released Android 7 (Nougat). It is coming though, so I don't see any downside whatsoever to having the unlocked M9 on their network.

please help

can i turn my European htc one m8 to verzione
I think you mean "Verizon"? If so, then the answer is NO, you can't.
Verizon is a CDMA network, and that is not supported by the Euro M8 version hardware. You can't get the Euro M8 working on Verizon, it's not possible.
thanks
Looks like you aren't located in the US. Why do you want to change it to Verizon?
