Can T-Mobile roms be flashed on the US Cellular version of the S3? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

If they merged all the variants of the S3 as d2lte, will the roms in this forum work on the d2usc version? What about the kernels and modems? Basically, will this forum apply to those running on the US Cellular of the Galaxy S3?

Cm/aosp roms saying d2lte should be good as well as kernels intended for cm/aosp.. Not modems, firmware, or anything like that.. If you are looking for any of those I think the sprint section may be the place for it

Yup. Stay in the Sprint forums for for best compatibility.

Suggestion: Merge GT-N7105/SGH-T889/SGH-I317 Development Subforums

Based on my reading and testing it seems the GSM LTE variant Note 2 ROMs are cross-compatible with the exception of the radio. That is, flashing of SGH-T889, SGH-I317 and GT-N7105 ROMs among one another works perfectly as long as you have the proper radio flashed as well.
I propose that the SGH-I317 and SGH-T889 Development forums cross-link to the GT-N7105 development forum, much as the Accessories forums of all Note 2 variants link to the N7100/N7105 Accessories forum.
In order to avoid potential confusion, developers could tag their threads as [N7105], [I317], and [T889] to designate the device the build was developed for and tested on. Users would then also know whether or not they would have to flash their respective radios after installation.
This will foster greatly expanded and accelerated development for the GSM LTE Note 2 variants. Developers will benefit from the inherent similarities of these devices (as they are more similar than different) and users would have greater variety.

So you are saying you can run a custom rom from a t889 on a i317 and just flash the modem with whatever flavor you are using...So I can use a i317 with a t889 rom and flash a t889 modem on it and put my tmobile sim in the thing and all will be good right?
Looking for more feedback and confirmation on this as well!
Update, I flashed the i317 pacman rom on my t889v wind mobile and its working great
In most situations, the ROM's zip file won't even contain a modem file in the first place, so you don't need to flash any radio afterwards. Maybe RIL files or carrier-specific CSC settings on TW ROMs, but that's another matter altogether, and not something that would typically preclude your phone from working if you skipped it.
In the T889V's specific case: do not flash any modems in any circumstances unless you are ready to deal with the consequences. My thinking is that there's a bug somewhere that leads to NV item corruption instead of just plain bootloops like on other variants.

Thanks for the response. By modem I assume you mean modems other than ones designed for my variant? I flashed the latest Wind Mobile modem from 2013 as I had the one prior to that.
Everything seems to be working fine, so I am happy. I was just apprehensive about flashing a rom designed for another phone as I do not fully understand what each contains, and if it would conflict with my phone.

Yes. Although in some cases, even reflashing the original T889VVLALJ4 over itself lead to problems, but that's a moot point since you're running T889VVLBMA3 already.
As for as the zip's contents, you can see for yourself by checking the files themselves and the updater-script file. And of course by checking out a given ROM's thread.
Back to the original topic, I'd be okay with the proposed merger.
Is this still up for consideration? Ever since getting the T889, it has only been hinted that there may be some compatibility. Merging the forums where proper would make it clear what will work and what won't.
I have a big question
Hello everybody, can I use the ROM of a GT-N7105 in the SGH-T889?
I need a stable rom for my Note 2 SGH T-889 form T-mobile

[Q] N7105 Roms on the SGH-T889?

Can roms, specifically from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1960 be installed on the T-Mobile GN2? If so, are there any modem / radio issues with the latest TMo radio or is there a better N7105 radio that should be used / recommended?
For the most part yes. I'd stick with roms from AT&T version however. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1875
If you see a ROM on AT&T version, and also see it on the t0lte (international LTE), then I'd presume it be safe to install the international lte version.
Personally I've only tested PAC and Rootbox. Anything else on t0lte that you try is all on your own
But generally speaking, as long as the t0lte rom you installed does not include the modem, it's good to go. Just don't go flashing the GT-N7100 ones; only GT-N7105 if you don't want the AT&T roms.
t0lteatt YES
t0lte MAYBE
For kernel, most people would recommend NEAK and you can find that in the GT-N7100 forum.

Thanks, that is what I assumed. I actually have installed the Carbon t0lte rom before (late night, wasn't paying attention) without issue and worked fine, never have installed a t0lteatt rom.
With that said, there seemed to be more dev options on the international variant so I was curious. I saw conflicting answers in a search so figured I'd ask again. If I do take the plunge, I'll report back with the end result.
Forgot to add, I would stay away from the international GT-N7100 touchwiz based roms though as some people say the kernels they use may have issues with US variants.

Agreed. There are hardware differences on the N7100 compared to the N7105 I have read about.
Only plan on using 7105 variants moving forward.

N7105 and other models in series

Hi there, Just a question......
I know there is quite a few different variants of the n7105, but, me as a UK user, can I flash different variants, ie verizon or AT&T (Well, I flashed cleanrom i think it was called???) and it worked perfectly.....
There arent any roms in the 7105 forum, so would like to use other variants to flash more
also I KNOW you cant flash n7100 roms to out 7105
is it just a case of downloading other variants, and flashing devil kernal etc??
Most of the at&t roms work well. I use agni kernel

Can Sprint modems and firmware be flashed on the US Cellular version of the S3?

I know only T-Mobile CM/AOSP roms and kernels saying D2LTE will work on my Galaxy 3. I heard some Sprint modems and firmware will work as well. What do I need to look for?

S6 edge Roms on s6

Can you flash s6 edge Roms on s6 what will not work if it will work at all. Also T-Mobile Roms. Do they work on sprint? Possibly just a radio and kernel flash to get them working?
Bump. I'm currently on 920V (Verizon) where roms are interchangeable. Does anyone know if 920P follows the same suit?
Edit: Found my answer. For anyone who still has this question. They are interchangeable as long as you flash unikernel afterwards. However since 920P & 925P are compatible, it doesn't mean you can flash other roms (outside of Sprint) without the dev's verification. So keep checking OPs!
I installed 2 different tmobile roms to my g920p sprint thats gsm unlocked . But baseband is unknown and imei also. Have you had any luck getting a gsm rom on these cdma devices?
