360 is QI compatible. - Moto 360

I just sat my watch on a QI charger I had for my G2 and it worked....FYI

Very cool, so do you think any QI charger would work? I am thinking of getting one on amazon in the future to use as a travel charger.

Tried to go the other way and see if I could get the 360 charger to charge the G2. I couldn't find a good way to get it on there, doesn't seem like it will work without some creativity.

Yeah the indention is specific to the 360. So how are you liking the phone so far? Android Wear in general is the only thing that bothers me as I figure out how to use it.

I take it you mean the watch. I like it. I wish it had a better battery. I like AW better than Tizen. So much more development. I wish I could make or answer calls from it like my Gear 2.

What someone needs to do is having something like the Power Pack Micro or any small power pack and have a Qi charger on one side. That would have been killer. Then you could have looped the watch around it to charge on the go.

$10.00 eBay HDMI dock

Unless it's complete trash it's hard to beat the price.
It's a re-certified "official" dock (the one you could buy as a Sprint accessory). I bought two of them a while back. One works great, the data wires on the USB plug for the other one has just recently started to flake out. That's fine for me, it still charges and I only need data on the one connected to my PC - the other one sits on my nightstand for charging duties.

I'd heard that the stand was around £35. For a moment I thought Clove had got one, but that turns out to be the normal desk stand (I think, see http://www.clove.co.uk/accessories/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s3/cables-chargers)
Like the idea of the wireless charger because I've seen how easy it is, based on the three HP Touchpad's we've got in the house.

The Touchpad folks in the house haven't noticed any difference in charge time (apart from the initial one) between wired and wireless charging.
That said, the difference in the initial charge was quite long, (one TP was wired charged, the other two wirelessly), in the order of an hour if memory serves me. And if the Samsung charger is anything like the HP TP one then you don't have to be too precise with your device positioning.
Just wish that the Samsung S3's charger also allowed a headphone out - kind of like the old (?) Apple iPhone/iPod dock (the one with the remote). It'd be nice to give that Wolfson DAC a spin by using S3 as an iPod replacement.
The important questions are, is it compatible with my current PowerMat that I own. Also, I have read about PowerMat's new NFC charge card that should be out sometime this year. You swap out the NFC card with their NFC+Charge card and there is no need to switch phone backs.
September? WTH!

Yes what is the hold up?
What I've heard is that basically it was a last minute addition and was never going to be ready on time - it wasn't delayed, it was always expected to come this late after launch. Might get the LG Optimus LTE2 instead, as that also comes with wireless charging apparently.

Very pricey, I want it. I'll have to see catch it at a deal.
The Tylt definitely is a looker, but I can't justify spending that much on a charger.
I just want something around $15 - $25 that outputs higher than 1A... I want to at least attempt to come close to the max Qi for the Nexus 5.
The cheap $15 one I have right now is 1A max output (so less of course) and I'd say it charges a little over half as fast as the stock charger.
I don't want to spend higher than that for essentially a glorified usb cable.
Missed out on the tylt deal (also already have the nexus) so I couldnt get one. So trying the diy route
Yeah I'm with you guys, they definitely charge a premium for it. I missed out on the sale too but bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. It's really one of the most convenient accessories if not THE most convenient accessory I've ever bought for a phone/tablet and it's that convenience you pay for. I wish it was cheaper, but still think it's worth the asking price.

Ahhh the heat thing. Yeah, that *can* degrade the performance of a battery over an extended period of time, but I don't see that being a major concern. Your phone gets warmer during gaming sessions or just browsing the web than it does when on a wireless charger so the argument can be made that it's worse for the battery to actually use the phone than to charge it wirelessly. That said, at least in my experience, my TYLT charger doesn't make my N5 or N7 warm at all. And my N5 is on it all the time. Bottom line- use your phone the way you want to, you're going to be upgrading long before your battery dies anyway.
Slightly OT, but does it matter if you plug in your Qi charger into a USB 2.0 port on a computer, or do you need to use a USB 3.0?
I know that the mAh of USB 2.0 is something like only 500mAh, but I believe it still supplies the same 5V as USB 3.0 would. Would a Qi charger go by the 5V input, or would is use the 500mAh max draw rendering the charge time absolutely horrendous?
I don't really know how it works too well. I have my Qi charger plugged into a USB port on my power bar for my night stand. But I'd like to have 2 more, 1 for my desk (hooked to my desktop computer) and another for my notebook.

Wireless charger that doesn't beep?

I want a wireless charger for my phone because I'm always picking it up and putting it back down on my desk. I'm kinda sick of plugging and unplugging it, so a wireless charger would be nice. Thing is, I don't want one that's going to beep at me every time I pick it up or put it down and it's hard to tell from Amazon reviews if a particular charger does this or not.
Any suggestions?

The Nokia DT-900 works a treat with the N5, even with my Diztronic TPU case. Only thing is, since 4.4.2 (I think) the phone automatically makes a beep when you begin charging it. Only way to disable this is through an Xposed module, which you can find here: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.eldarerathis.xposedmodule.wirelesschargingxposed
It's a nice little app that lets you customise how the screen behaves when you begin/finish charging, and whether you want a sound played or not.
Hope that helps.

Pretty much any Qi charger except the ones shaped like a "Hockey Puck" won't beep. Those are the only ones I've seen so far that have a speaker built in to the charger pad.
The phone will also make a connection sound as well. Unless you have your phone on silent.
Just look for a Qi charger that has a 1A (1000mA) Output and you're good to go. The lower the mA output, the slower it will charge.

Qi-infinity™ Portable Wireless Charger Power Bank 4000 mAh

Someone should make a super small qi charger for all the qi enabled watches coming out. Maybe 750 MaH or something to give it a full recharge and then have a little extra.

The answer is governed by Ohm's Law
Current draw is regulated by the device not the power source. Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across the two points.
If you think about mains electricity, you can plug in a high current device like a kettle or heater to the same socket you plug in a low current device such as a phone PSU.
