[Q] Good Portfolio Case? (not the Moto one)

I was looking for a good portfolio case for my XOOM. I was looking for something like the iPad cases where they are portfolio style and is made of soft material so my xoom doesn't get scratched up...
any ideas?

I just ordered my xoom so I'm waiting for it to ship before I order a case, but I'm planning on getting this one:

I saw it mentioned in another thread and it seems like all of the Ayl cases get pretty great reviews. The exterior is leather and the interior is microfiber so it shouldn't scratch. Plus, at only $10 it's much more affordable than some other cases out there.

Sure, the design is based on the leather moto folio, but the price is probably the key point here.

Warning...if it is just like the Moto leather folio, the channels cut for viewing angles may be too shallow for some as the Xoom has a tendency to collapse at steep angles. Maybe you will not have the problem. Just saying.

It's the same basic concept with a fair amount of key differences...
-fasteners have a different design
-inside is line with microfiber to prevent scratches (which is a common complaint for the moto)
-exterior is all leather, including fasteners
-as mentioned, lower price. Even if everything was the exact same, you get it for 1/3 the price.
Based on the reviews, it's the same idea with better execution.

I am one of the reviewers on Amazon. It's a fantastic case and for 10 bucks, come on it's a no brainer. I'd definitely recommend this over all the existing leather cases out there now. And who knows when this discounted price ends, its original price is more like 30 bucks.

It stays in the angles without budging, but I admit that because the surface is microfiber suede it may be slippery if you jab hard at the top of the xoom. There is no problem if you type at the bottom half of the screen. And normal presses and swipes on the screen are ok. Just don't jab hard repeatedly at the top 1/3 of the screen and you should be fine.

Targus cases are great quality, at least my P1000 Galaxy Tab one genuine leather was perfect.
The Xoom one sells for like $45+ shipping etc at Amazon. They are really good I think. Worth the price.

I guess I'm an idiot for waiting... the ayl case is now $5 more than before. Not a whole lot, but still wasted money from waiting. Oh well. I just placed my order and I'll be sure to give a review or contribute to another thread on the case once I receive mine.
I should be getting my xoom tomorrow, so I'll have time without a case to make me appreciate having a case even more.

I just have a quick question about the AYL case, is the closure magnetic? I can't seem to find any confirmation that it is (looks like it in the pics), or in the reviews.

It is not magnetic. But the cover closes very tightly onto the xoom, so there are no worries about the cover flipping out on its own. You have to shut the cover with some force actually, but the suede inner lining will not scratch it.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! So I guess it's just like a clip that goes over the top of the device? I just wanted to make sure it wasn't velcro, I hate that crap, lol!
Just ordered, but unfortunately it seems like they are out of stock for the moment... Gonna have to wait a few weeks it seems...

I bought the ZooGue case. I really like it. The onlu thing wrong was that it has a funny smell. Took care of that with vinegar and water and now the smell is gone. The stand is adjustable because the bottom was flat and there is velcro to adjust the view.

yes if you don't like supporting Real US Sellers and tanking our economy further. i realize buying american products is impossible but the few dollars more to buy from american sellers is a small price to pay to support our country. Wanted to get a cheap case to hold me over until i order one of the more expensive ones. Do these generic cases made for 8 inch tablets work ? Here are some other ones I was looking at for the mean time.

for $10 more you can get the IVSO cover. but if thats an issue, I go wit the TPU case.

Currently waiting on the TPU case myself, which I ordered near a month ago at this point... Last time I get something from AliExpress.
Hoping the IVSO will be available in the color scheme I like on eBay soon, want that as well.

Yeah they have them now in the US I knew if I ordered from China it would take like a month so I chose US seller only. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

[Q] Bamboo StyleSwap covers are back!

oneplus.net shows that you can in fact order a bamboo StyleSwap cover, you just need an invite.. I really want one, so does anybody know how they are distributing the invites? i read online that they only have "hundreds" to sell.

Its easy i repaced my sandstone case with a white silk case - takes 5 mins. Super easy

Yeah the whole BS they came out with saying that they didn't pursue the idea due to the difficulty of taking the case off is pretty bad if you ask me. I've removed my back a few times and there has been no damage caused. Most people are fully aware of the dangers when it comes to trying to take covers off, don't want to take the risk then don't do it. Will be looking to change phones pretty soon I feel. The OPO is nice, but it's not the phone I bought. Had planned on picking up the Bamboo and Denim covers and now that's not going to happen.
Probably going to take a punt at the N6 instead now.

Is there anywhere that I can beg for an invite for the bamboo covers? They are one of the main reasons I got the one.

I personally can't stomach the price for the nexus 6. Not at this time at least

My kid brother has the fusion case in Red, it does look really nice. He told me that he used to find the phone quite slippery without the case.

Was gonna get the red fusion case but heard the transparent back gets scratched really easily, ended up picking up a red diztronic instead

agree it will does get scratched but you cant notice it unless out in the light. Id much rather the scratches on my case than my phone
also the solid transparent back looks great on a smartphone that has a nice back

I bought an Orzly FlexiSlim TPU case for my Oneplus lately and I'm pretty happy with it, it fits almost perfectly and is really slim, but jeeze, it smelled horrible when I got it. Needed to put it in two dishwasher cycles to get rid of that terrible odour. My other TPU cases have never had a smell-on-sale problem.

It is a flat printed image piece so it will never look real in close up because it lacks the 3D depth of the internal modules.
Also, would never support Dbrand with their grip case selling for 30USD lel
Maybe if they stop throwing tons of money on youtubers over and over again and just start pricing their products right.

just cannot decide between buying "grip case + teardown skin" or just buying a just a skin and transparent case? what is your recommendation? I don't want to make my phone too bulky. ( a thickness near plastic case included with the phone's box is ok for me)
and please show me a good transparent case for op7 pro. please recommend a good tampered glass if possible
Note: there is small chip on the downside of my phone which the plastic case( which was inside the box) can protect it very well. So I have to keep a case to protect the phone.

My favourite transparent case is the Supcase Unicorn Beetle, it's black surround, transparent back and good side and lip protection.

Ordered one Wed and still haven't gotten it (Tue now) even though I paid the next day shipping price. Still says the order is "in production". Emailed them yesterday to see what the deal was and still no response yet. Has anyone else had this experience? First time ordering from dbrand.

They weren't going to be produced until the period was done, it's a limited release so they don't just produce a big pile hoping they sell them all, they take all the orders and then produce all the orders made.
