What Screen protectors do people usually go for, do you just buy normal no brand screen protectors from online market place? or do you spend a bit more money and go for well recognized brand such as Spigen, Orzly,Ottorbox & Nillkin.

I personally don't use screen protector but from the consensus, a lot of people prefer using orzly tempered. Spigen, otterbox does not offer protectors for the opo.

nillkin are fine imo (used on two 1+1 atm)

I have a Spartan shield from XtremeGuardz which works great.

Currently using an Orzly tempered glass screen protector. First ever tempered glass screen protector I've used and I love it. I will honestly never use a non tempered glass screen protector again. The Orzly sits perfectly on the OPO and looks clean. I highly recommend it.

In the past I've gone for Spigen. Although a little pricier, I like to think I'm paying for the packaging, quality assurance, and simply the quality of the product itself. I tend to be pretty prone to cracking my screens so I go for the glass ones which actually have protected my screen 3+ times since I've started buying them. I say it's cheaper and easier than replacing a whole screen itself and it doesn't really affect usability. I also like how on the Spigen, the sides aren't sharp and moreso curved or whatever.
Only thing is I have heard people complain about it chipping on the side but I'm pretty rough with my phone and I have yet to have that happen for myself. Only cracks due to....being dropped and etc.

I’ve used Orzly and saved my phone. It’s a very good product

I just ordered a Nilkin one from Amazon.. Will update.

Have bought and used two Nillkins, nothing but good things to say

Nillkin Tempered 9h FTW. They're cheap. They're awesome.
Transmitted via Bacon

Only used Orzly on this and my moto g. Did replace the moto g after about 6 months as it got a light crack and scratches but otherwise if applied properly it's hard to notice it's on there.
Also I find it smoother than the original screen so it's better for swiping, has anyone else noticed that?

I saw one Orzly review on youtube and noticed a scratch, so I ordered the Ultimate Shield. These two are my favs, but that scratch made me switch to Ultimate Shield.

I also use the Ultimate sheild, really easy to fit and a great fit as well, still looking perfect a month later.

Spartan shield from XtremeGuardz,works perfectly

I'm using UltimateShield for my OPO. its barely to notice and it feels even better than the original screen.

Got a tempered glass from aliexpress. It's not a big brand but feels ok. Oleo phobic coat, nice cut and easy (ish) to apply.

Nillkin FTW!

Nillkin Tempered +1 The best and cheaper.

I have a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector and I love it. It's one of the cheapest also (I bought it for $10, it's $7 now I think), less than half than Orzly's. The "consensus" that Orzly protectors are superior stem from one guy on Reddit who said it was the best one out there and that got repeated a bunch of times until it was accepted as fact. I don't think many people have actually compared several brands.

I would spend the money on the spigen glas.t but according to this forum it has been discontinued:

I didn't read the full thing, i just googled it. But i will say this, I dropped my iPad 3 face down(glass down) on concrete and it protected it. It fell about 4 feet and came out without any damage whatsoever.

I swear by ZAGG. If you watch the demo video then it should sell you too. Yes its a little more expensive than the 3 dollar scotch tape cover you can get at the grocery store, but you spent a lot of money on the phone with its sharp screen, I figure its worth it. I had the ZAGG cover on my Thunderbolt and it worked great. I liked it so much I have one on my GS3.
DBA Cases sells a screen protector called "Just Like Glass". I just bought one for me and my mom. I must say the feel is great, almost "like glass" and the screen doesn't diminish in quality one bit. It is a wet application. The sides on mine don't want to stick down all the way. The instructions said this would happen and after a few days it will stick. I've only had it applied a couple days so I'm still crossing my fingers. They are only $13.50. I would definitely recommend one. http://www.dbacases.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-screen-protectors.aspx
I highly suggest glasszone. No proximity problems, no response problems. 9H hardness, I've dropped it twice from waist height on concrete floor and it's not scratched, though I'm not 100% if the initial impact was with ground. The only thing I have against it is the (barely) visible layer of glitter on the edges, or what the manufacturer calls "pearl effect". I barely notice it, and it's only really visible under a few instances. You can find it on ebay

Yes it definitely disturbs. That's why the sticker type protector is somehow a better choice, but if you have a sturdy case protector to begin with you don't need a screen protector, that gorilla glass will serve it purposes.

I don't like the Zagg ones, its very clear when you're using them that you have a screen protector on. I have the DBA Just Like Glass mentioned above. I like it for the most part. The screen protector has gotten very scratched up but the screen is safe and sound. Worst bit about it is that the edges dont look properly adhered. Sounds interesting... a similar product can be the Orzly tempered glass, same thickness (0.3 mm).
The problem is that sellers are from China, and that means looong delivery time (for Europe, al least 1 month or two)

As far as experience tells, no orders I've done from China (and I purchased a lot) have been shipped in less than a month... At least, here in Italy. (I live in Milan).
I just bought the Orzly alternative... my guess is these glass screen protectors are more or less equivalent.
I'm scared however as I think the problems we all read about the Spigen product could also be noticeable on these glass protections.
Let me explain that: it's for sure a Spigen's fault, as probably these protectors have been cut on the basis of a CAD/CAM project, before getting in touch with the phone itself. No one could imagine that Nexus 5 front glass could present a slight irregularity before getting the phone in hand.
I wonder then if:
- Nillkin
- Orzly
- (who's next?)
products will overcome the problem.
It's all in the adhesive component, but I doubt they'll use a better silicon than Spigen.
However, for a bit more that 10 EUR including shipping in 3/4 businness days... it's quite worth it

best Nexus 5 screen protector?

Hi all,
I'm looking for a decent, but not way too expensive screen protector. I'm planning to use my n5 with only a screen protector, nothing else. It doesn't matter for me if it is wet or dry application, as long as it will keep my screen safe and it won't annoy me in terms of feel and screen distortion. Anyone know any good screen protectors?
Thanks in advance!
Can't say much but my experience with the spigen crystal clear has been good. Easy installation! looks great as it doesn't have any cutouts for the camera and proximity sensor. Doesn't affect the performance at all. My protector came dented, it came free with my ultra hybrid case but meh, not many complaints regarding that.
I bought this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EPLT8O4/
You get 3 protectors and I'm pretty happy with the quality. They do attract a lot of fingerprints but I think most protectors do? I was worried a screen protector would alter the screen color/vibrance but I can't even tell it's on unless I look at the edges. I'm happy with this purchase but in the future I might try an oleophobic tempered glass one.

I cannot post a link: Go to amazon.com and search (ismooth nexus 5)
I'm rocking a best skins ever wet application protector at the moment. Its easy to fit (being wet app you can reposition after applying before it dries) and has a nice feel. Its also fits perfectly to the screen edges.
Been meaning to do a little review but not got around to doing one yet.
Loving the spigen that came with my slim case. I had it for almost 3 weeks already and only has one scratch. Very anti-scratch. I liked them so much, I ordered some for my wife s4 and no scratches at all.

I have the TechMatte amFilm Nexus 5 screen protectors. They come in a 3-pack and include everything you need. They are a dry-application screen protector. The screen protectors have three cutouts along the top for the camera/light sensor/proximity sensor, but the cutouts are NOT along the edge of the screen, as suggested by some illustrations on the packaging. The 3 cutouts are neat and precisely in the location of the aforementioned sensors.
The actual application time took around 2 minutes, 15 seconds. I got it right the first time. After initial application, the 4 bubbles took seconds to smooth out. To minimize dust particles being trapped under the screen protector during installation, TechMatte suggests applying the screen protector in a bathroom after taking a shower. I can understand why, as I ended up with two small particles of dust which settled in the nanoseconds that the Nexus 5 screen was exposed to the air in my kitchen. This is no fault of amFilm though. The screen protector looks great and was a breeze to apply.
5/5 so far for the Techmatte amFilm Nexus 5 screen protectors!

X-PROTECTIONS Nexus 5 Premium Tempered Glass - Lowest price - Review Updated

http://www.xprotections.com/products/Google_Nexus_5_Screen_Protector_Premium_Tempered_Glass.htm
$3.15 + $4 shipping = $7.15. Still the lowest price for tempered glass I've ever seen. They also have for another model like Samsung S5 or iPhone 5S.
No review yet. Pretty much new company. From China of course. (not surpised when it come to this price). Look around and OMG, price start at $2. I know this may be crap but seriously, this is so cheap, dirt cheap.
Some infos I found from this company:
http://www.gcoupon.com/view/companies/248074/Xprotections.html
From Mar 2014.
Short review:
The package was fine. The glass have oleophobic coating for sure. This glass fit very well in my screen without any bubble, not like a Nillkin. Just remove my Nillkin and apply without any issues. For someone who said the nexus 5 screen is a hole's problem, not the Nillkin glass, I am highly doubt it. In fact, I may got a lemon with this Nillkin. Anyway, the screen is perfect fit and so smooth. I am so satisfied.
The quality is solid. Below is a picture of this glass's thickness. I cannot say much about it's quality now as I just received it today, will update the review after few weeks using. But first impression was good and nothing to complain
It came with cleaning kit like other tempered glass.
The shipping speed was fast. It's China Post Air Mail but only 9 days (include weekend).
I can say with this price range this thing is amazing value. Highly recommend.
Here are some picture when I open the package. Sorry I don't have a camera to make a vid when apply it, but this thing is pretty similar like Nillkin glass. I will get more photo when I borrow one from my bro.

I got a Nillkin too, but after about 10 times applied and re-applied my screen still had a big hole in the bottom (not affect the screen view), which is so annoying for me so I got this to replace. If this sucks I lost 7 bucks and apply the Nillkin back. After all it's just 7 bucks. I suggest you guys get this as a backup. Well, Nillkin was originally China product but it's proved to be good brand until now. With this unbeatable price this one may worth a try.
And btw, Paypal accepted.

You do know that the bubble at the bottom of the screen is because the Nexus 5 screen is not 100% flat right? It is not because of the Nillkin screen protector. It happens with all of the tempered glass screen protectors. You just need to really rub it out hard or use a small clamp with soft cloth between the clamp and screen.
Just do a search here and you'll see pretty much everyone having this problem regardless of which screen protector they are using.

Usually these cheap screen protectors come without any oleophobic coating on it which makes the screen/glass very tough to glide your finger over.

Just wondering because that's the only way for me to get my case to fit properly.

Agree to this it is not an issue with the protector but rather the nexus screen itself as the tempered glass does not stick at the bottom we need to press to apply it properly whereas in some nexus it just fit smooth
How is X-PROTECTIONS holding up after 5 months?
Are you still using X-PROTECTIONS Google Nexus 5 Screen Protector Premium Tempered Glass? If yes, how is it holding up? Please kindly offer update after five months of usage, thank you!

Accessories Cases and Screen Protectors or Tempered Glass for A54

Hey XDA Fam! I just purchased the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G for my mom and I'm looking for some good looking, protective Cases and a nice quality Screen Protector / Tempered Glass. I have checked a few but I'm unsure if I should go with them. So, I though Ill drop in and ask my XDA Fam for some solid recommendations since you guys have helped me previously and the recommendations I went for have been pretty flawless!
Update Edit: I have purchased the Full-Body Screen Protectors from Gadgetshieldz as recommended and didnt go with the skins this time cause my mom wants to keep it low-key. Ill most get the skins for her later on!
Still in need of a good case recommendation, there are a few on amazon but havent chosen any yet. Any top case suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Hey! Please change the topic from Question to Accessories.
Also, Ive used both tempered and screen protectors from Gadgetshieldz and they both do a good job while also being affordable. I use the Full-Body Screen Protector for my current device cause it covers Screen, Back Panel, Sides, Top, Bottom and Camera Module. Im also concerned about permanent scratches and marks on the Back Panel due to dust secretion cause my previous devices had these permanent scuffs even after using cases from Spigen and UAG. I realised that no matter the case, dust accumulates and causes these permanent marks that reduce the resale value. So I just went ahead with the full body protector to avoid these. Skins are also a good alternative to avoid these marks.
Ill suggest going with this if you dont want to pay too much while also considering quality cause Amazon products are very unreliable and I dont really see the point in paying too much for these cause all other brands like Rhinoshield, dbrand, etc are a bit too expensive.

Ohh I didn't know there is a Full-Body Coverage option for Screen Protectors! I've got their Skins previously and its really good quality! I was also satisfied with their packaging and it shouted quality to me. I still have the Skins on my phone and there hasn't been any reason yet to replace them. I think I shall give the Full-Body Protector a try this time!
Also, any good Case recommendations if any?
Edit: Its been almost a year since I wrapped my Z Fold with Skins from Gadgetshieldz, Posting a Snap of the 1 Year condition of the Skins!
Im surprised its still in perfect condition and the black leather was a solid option for the fold! Im liking it more as I look at it even after a year

I use Matte Screen Protector from Gadgetshieldz and for full body protection, I went with their Skins. My A54 looks extra good with these Skins! Ive been using their screen protectors for ages now and its never failed to disappoint me. Ive always gone with their Full-Body protector for my phones to cover every part of my device but this time I went with their Skins for the body protection because I loved it on my Xiaomi Pad. They are still on and it looks like new! So I got them for the A54 too but this time a different design!
