using safestrap to install custom rom to stock slot - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I was trying to save some space on my phone and I'm looking to try and find a way to just flash the one custom rom i actually use on my stock slot. The rom works perfectly on my custom slot but I can't seem to get it to boot up right in the stock slot. I was told that this can be done so I was wondering if there is a tip or trick someone could give me... Or if I was told wrong! LOL
Thanks!

There is no safestrap or root for the AT&T branded Note 4, and there probably won't be, as Hashcode has retired. :/

Wow sorry i meant Note 3*****!!! Sorry wrong forum

Are you on 4.4.2 with the new bootloader? I did the OTA update, rooted, jnstalled twrp recovery and then tried instalking an international rom. It booted but the wifi did not work.

Yes I'm on 4.4 bootloader. I flashed the tmobile 4.4 nb4 tar. via odin. Flashed CF auto root n9005 version via Odin, and then flashed the TWRP .tar that @bigbiff posted via odin as well. Then in TWRP flashed the latest Philz recovery zip that works with 4.4 bootloader (thats my preference, I like PhilZ.) Then just downloaded and installed Echoe. By the way I had no idea International 4.4 Roms were sooo much faster than ours...its quite noticeable. WIFI and everything works out of box. no need to flash any kernels or anything.

Can you send me the link to the Philz recover you used? I tried installing Sweet Rom (international) and it wiped my internal storage. Want to try Philz to see if that will resove that problem.

its not the recovery, it's the updater script included in some international roms, you have to modify the updater script so that it doesnt do wipe internal. follow these instructions.
1. Download ROM, open .zip with winRAR or 7zip.
2. Navigate to META-INF\com\google\android
3. Drag updater-script to desktop and open in Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org)
4. Delete the following... http://imgur.com/F7rdFCo
5. Save (make sure you save as the same format - just click save and not save as)
6. Drag back into same directory and overwrite the previous updater-script in the rom .zip

LITERALLY THAT MADE ME ROLL AROUND ON THE GROUND AND LAUGH MY ASS OFF.
That my friend was not made for the Canadian Variant. I and my friend MISCOM, made that fix when we started putting out Int. Roms for TMO and Canadian phones. If you go the the Stainless thread, you will see the original posting of that fix. That's why when you flash that fix it says, made by Miscom. All somebody did was change the name of the file and stick it up on other threads. I've in months only seen one person credit Miscom for the work we did. Not mad. Doesn't bother me, we made the fix and said here guys go grab it and put it on the N9005 page so everybody can fix this issue.

I wasn't blaming you. It's opensource, not like we wrote new code to do it. We just took the time to figure out how to fix make everything work.
Its funny because as you stated you had no way of knowing, people renaming it and posted it as their work do. This is probably the 5th name i've seen for this. It doesn't make me mad. Actually it makes me smile that something that was put out is still being used.

[Recovery] Stock Odin Flashable

]So I was stuck in a hard place and needed a recovery fix and couldn't find one... I stumbled across an .Img file so u converted it to a .tar file and shall share in hopes that people who make the mistake as I did don't have to go the the grueling process of flashing all the way back to mk2 and lose everything that they currently had and starting over
Download = https://www.dropbox.com/s/mx1933wuc...short route to recover from such a situation.

Maybe this is very commendable, but maybe not. What phone do you have? What rom did you have to begin with? What firmware was this image file made from? Basically, you need to be much more specific if you're actually trying to help some other people.

it's simply the mk2 stock recovery img; incase you tried to custom flash a recovery (which has been proven to fail) and the bootloader kicks you out (non-safestrap recovery like actual recovery recovery)
...i apologize for not being more specific.
i was in a jam at work when i tried to flash custom clockworkmod recovery to my main recovery via safestrap and got bootlooped due to our locked bootloader. I found the recovery.img file under some thread and i formatted it to work with odin; flashed it to my device an SGH-i337 and it allowed me to boot back up normally. so for me it was a safe haven, and im just trying to help others who tend to experiment even when told not to.

Stuck without a ROM

Hey guys,
So, I have an M8_DUGL, S-ON, with hboot: 3.19.0
It is unlocked, but not S-OFF.
I can get to stock recovery; however, whenever I flash a custom recovery, it gets flashed successfully but doesn't work. It always takes me back to the bootloader page again when I press on REOCVERY. Anyone know why this happens?
I also do not have any OS installed at the moment, mistakes have been made and I wiped it out. So, I need to relfash it. However, it's been a real pain for me to find an RUU that works. I have a CID of J__15, and OS (supposedly): 3.33.401.6
Any help would bee really appreciated. Thanks
You will have to go through the root process again seems like you made a stumble in the process.. It happens go through it again and it should work properly but make a nandroid back up! Before proceeding!

Well, haha, I have nothing to make a nandroid back up with. I do not have a recovery and no ROM either. I was too tired, and messed up real bad.
So, my current standing is that I only have my sacred bootloader. I can access fasboot, but can't do anything more. Stock recovery works, but when I flash different custom recoveries, they just don't work. I've done many mods in previous HTC phones, so this is kinda weird to me why it's not working. Do you have any idea to why this is happening?
Did you use the same tool with the other htc phones? Or did you use a different one maybe you didn't root it properly.. If you can still access the stock rom. Try to root it again that's my best advice because it should work on the m8 I rooted one of my m8 must unlock the bootloader before anything tho and must root the phone properly this time.. Let me know if any other questions need to be answered

You can use the old nandroid backup 1.45.401.12 - TWRP Thanks to kakyyabata from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376 and proceed with OTA again up to 3.33.401.6
Use the TWRP that support dual SIM. If I'm not wrong, the one link in my sig does. Or you read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-dual-sim-european-version-t2816991
p.s I don't know what's the connection between rooting again with no OS problem.

Removed Vodafone ROM help

I just recently the a5 2017 and unlocked it but it still has some annoying vodafone features on it that i cant get rid of and wondering if its possible to replace the current stock rom with one that dosnt have any vodafone bloatware on it? (still stock rom though)
Error in title! Ment to say "Removing" not removed
It should be possible to install TWRP, download the stock ROM without Vodafone brand from a site like sammobile.com and flash it in odin.
Then install TWRP again and flash RMM-state-bypass.zip and no-verity.zip from the thread in this forum.
Sry to sound stupid but where about is the RMM-state-bypass.zip and no-verity.zip files and if they are needed or can i just flash without them?

No-verity.zip can be downloaded here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...velopment/recovery-galaxy-a5-a7-2017-t3815931
and RMM-bypass.zip here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...ide-root-install-twrp-samsung-t3747535/page77
Im not to 100% sure if those two zips are really needed.
Easiest thing is to just flash the Stock ROM in Odin and see if it still works like before.
Maybe read through some articles/threads before you start
