[Q] Which Micro SD Should I order? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I want a 128GB micro sd for my note 4. I have narrowed it down to 2. The lexmark is much faster but was wondering if I will see the difference in preformance if I'm using it to play games and record/playback 4k videos from it. Here are the links

USB transfer speeds?

I am looking to grab this phone but my last HTC unit (Touch Cruise) is really slow on moving stuff- im nearly positive its running at USB 1.1 speeds.
Is the Touch Pro 2 any better? How long does it take to transfer an album of music or a video?
You'd be crazy to spend $$ on this phone and not buy a SD card, and trasfers to them are very decent.
Transfering to it in "Disk drive" mode onto a micro SD card u get 4MB/sec (which is max speed for my class 4 card)
Reading from it is about 6-7MB/sec so it might be able to write at that speed with an decent class 6 card
Transfering to its internal ROM is about ~1-2MB/sec in "activesync" mode
Get the phone u wont regret it
ps. anyone out there have sandisk ultra micro m2 card to test? that have read speed of 13mb/sec, would be good to see what the decivice is capable of ;- )
Edit: double post, how i manage that

Micro SD Card Questions

I recently pre-ordered the Sony Xperia Z2 which only comes in 16gb so I am forced to get extra storage, but I have a few question regarding micro SD cards. While reading my post please keep in mind I am still a noob.
1) Is 32gb enough or is it recommended to get 64gb? I will probably watch movies and TV shows but will not be putting music on the phone since I am not a fan for personal reasons. I have also heard that bigger SD cards can slow your phone down and some people tend to have problems with them, is this true?
2) What brand shall I get? SanDisk or Samsung? I have read that even though two micro SD cards are the same size and same class there is still a difference due to the brands.
3) Apart from the storage size and the class of the card is there anything else I should be looking out for?
Thanks

Hm....the xperia z2......it has up to 128 gb memory expansion according to gsm arena. If you want to save movies and tv shows to your phone, I suggest you buy a 64 gb memory stick, so you can save more stuff. As for the brand, there's no actual difference to me, and as for the bigger size that makes the phone slower, that's not true, unless you have your memory stick full of stuff like music, videos/movies/tv shows, images and such stuff (note that I have mine with such stuff loaded and I have no problems). Apart from the storage size and the card class, no, I think you're going to be alright. Hope I helped...
if you are a Movie TV fans,i suggest you add a 64gb extra storage, then u could smoothly enjoy the show and u can save more tv show you like
I agree, i fill up a 32 gb like its nothing. and thats just pictures and videos. if you use instagram it fills up allot faster.
Alright, I'll go for the 64gb one and Samsung seems like the reasonable choice to make.
suggest you to get a 64GB extra storage.
and maybe kingston is ok.

We can't really answer that. If you don't re-encode movies you'll likely quickly fill up 32GB. On the other hand, bigger cards get cheaper, faster and more reliable (ok, not always) over time. I'd decide by price, you can always easily replace it later.
go for sandisk ....class 10 ultra ...64 gb . actually you have video recording @ [email protected] will going to take more speed as well as memory than expected .
i have got Samsung micro SD class 10 48mb/s 32 gb huhuhuh! it's cool and works fine!

[Q] Is this Micro SD overkill?

I purchased a 128GB Sandisk card originally for my LG G3 which failed shortly after getting my Note 4. Sandisk offered to even exchage it or I can wait for the new 64GB extreme pro model soon to come out also as an exchange. Should I go with the larger 128GB card rated at 48mbs or go for the new 64GB UHS-3 card rated at 95mbs. I do not need 128GB of storage but will my phone have any better SD performance with the faster card? Here is the link for the new card and the old one. Advice appreciated

from what I've heard, you can't access your SD card on your own on the note 4 without root. not exactly sure to what extent this goes as I'm STILL WAITING FOR BESTBUY to get my preorder in.. I've sseen other threads here around xda asking if anyone has figured out a way to move files to their SD card without root, and the answers they get are basically, 'no'.
im not the best to answer your question, but seeing as you have links in hand and are probably itching to buy it, i figured i needed to throw that out before you actually buy something you may not have much use for.
google 'SD card on kitkat' and you'll get some better informed information than what i can tell you here on the train. gl either way!

I currently have an older SanDisk 32gb in my note 4 that works for storing music and pictures taken with camera. I think the issue you are referring to is moving apps and data from phone to SD which is a problem with kitkat that should be fixed with root or with lollipop update. I am more concerned if my phone will be able to utilize the speed of the faster card. I appreciate your input though
No external SD card writing by other apps is a security feature google added to the kit Kat uodate to help keep sensitive information safe on your phone or tablet.

I do not store my downloaded apps to my external SD card. My question is will my phone utilize the read speed of the pro model card as far as loading my pics, music, and large video files? Also will it write my pictures and videos taken with phone as fast as the card is rated for or does the micro sd bus speed on note 4 have a limit for read/write speeds.

I have a lot of 1080p video on my SD card and they play perfectly so I think it utilizes the extra speed of the card, my card is a 32 gig with 95mbs speed.

I have the 128 GB card working fine in the note 4. I have had problems writing to it from file managers other than MyFiles. I get the access denied message. I hope we get root soon
Quick question for everyone...what format is your sd card in? I'm about to format from my old s4 and I'm wondering if I should use exfat, ntfs, ext4
..? Thanks

[Q] Micro SD card

Hello all I am looking for a Micro SD card for this phone.
I am gonna use the Micro SD for storage: music, photo and even full HD videos.
My question is simple.. For this purpose is every Class 10 UHS-I card good?
Because I am reading some feedback and someone (with phones like S7, M9, Op2) has some troubles with recognizing the card or even their phones do not save full HD video properly and they have problems with playback.
If someone could answer me would be grateful, thanks.

what micro sd are you using?

what micro sd card do you recommend which is compatible for the razer phone? looking for a bang for the buck with fast read/write and doesnt need to be above 512gb. Thanks
I have personally gone with the Samsung 256GB Evo Plus Class 10 / U3 card from Samsung Mobile on amazon. Currently still on sale £114, I never really use the camera unless on holiday or need to snap a quick pic or video of something as its quicker than writing it down. Conisdering my last family holiday I took the 128GB iPhone 6s size wise the 256gb is more than enough as the only game i have installed is hearthstone. All my apps take up a total 21.33/58.90 (GB) on the internal drive leaving the SD for the camera.
i have a toshiba 128gb, class 10, u3 and the phone lags considerably when using the external cards memory to access.
i have it formated as internal memory as well.
i thought U3 class 10 is the fastest you can get but it still tells me the card is slow when i go to format it.
