Hello all I am looking for a Micro SD card for this phone.
I am gonna use the Micro SD for storage: music, photo and even full HD videos.
My question is simple.. For this purpose is every Class 10 UHS-I card good?
Because I am reading some feedback and someone (with phones like S7, M9, Op2) has some troubles with recognizing the card or even their phones do not save full HD video properly and they have problems with playback.
If someone could answer me would be grateful, thanks.

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of upgrading my 512mb SD card to 2gb, but I'm not certain that the phone (Qtek 9090) will be able to work with such a large card.
Does anyone here have a 2gb card working? Any brands/models that are known to work or fail?

I'm currently using a 2gb SanDisk SD Card, everything works great. Oddly enough, I cannot find a card reader to connect to my PC that can read them!?!? I'm still using 2003SE and transfer movies and MP3's to the phone by using the painful multi-hour process of Exploring via ActiveSync. Uggh! This is fixed in ActiveSync 4.1 but ONLY if you are running WM5... Just having 2003SE and 4.1 will still be totally laggy for file copy.

Hi! Do you have a brand name or model number of the card reader you mentioned so I can search for it on the Internet? So far I've purchased 2 different readers and neither can speak "2gb" :shock: The one I can use for 1gb cards but not 2gb cards is Belkin F5U248 rev.2, so I know that one wont work!

The transfer speed is limited by the SD card type
The transfer speed should be contained within the card specification sheet
As I understand it, the maximum transfer speed is 22.5MB per second
This is for a 133X SD card, so compare accordingly

I'm planning to buy a 2gb Sandisk, but i'm not too sure whether the ultra version will work, as the compatibility list on their website only shows the standard. So i might just get the standard one to be on the safe side.
I currently use 4Gb SD card! I had only hard time finding flash card reader for my PC, which can read such a big card
I believe PPC devices has no problem with big SD cards. At least my Mio 168 PPC with GPS (PPC 2003) understand 4G card too.
But I do not believe flash manufacturers X rating. I NEVER seen real speed more than 3 Mb/s on any type of device. My card have rating x133 (22.5Mb/s). And I have no idea on what device and how did they measure that speed?
From the 2g->4gb reports it sounds like sd card size is not so much an issue for the BA, more for the SD->USB adaptor.
I have the same awful USB activesync file transfer rates reported on this thread, despite running WM5, so it sounds like my current adaptor might need upgrading.

The typical transfer rate is 2MBps
Quotes like 133X and 150X are NOT a multiple of this but the coefficient comparison between the read and write speed
As an example for a 2MB SD card
Uploading 2MB data takes 1 second
Reading data, for that same setup, takes 1 second
For the 133X the write speed is the same, but the read time is 0.4 seconds and for the 150X card it is 0.33 seconds
This also assumes the SD interface meets SDIO v1.01
If not then the 133X and 150X cards take the same time to read as the standard card

Yo, what type of SD card that you using now (Sandisk Ultra II) ?
Just so you guys know my 4GB SD card is a Transcend 150x.
I have a 16gb micro sd card that i have had for some time and moved to which ever new phone i have had.
I recently got my desire z and moved my memory card to it. All seemed fine untill i went to do some video recording in hd setting. The player would start to record and then stop and shut down.
I then tried the original 8gb card in the phone and it recorded fine but is a little stuttery at times. I notice that my 16gb card is a class 2 and the 8 gb that comes with the phone is a class 4.
I was wondering if i were to get a higher class card i.e 6 would this solve the stutter issuse i get with hd recording on the standard card?
anyone else noticed this and has anyone got a class 6 card in there phone that could tell me if the problem is solved.
if it wont record with a class 2 and does so with a class 4 then things can only be better with a higher class card right?

Although not a question dedicated solely to the OGP, i figured others with this phone might also want to know....
I'm looking to get a 64gb card for the phone to store music and whatever else can be put there (I realize apps can't go on the SD). I've seen class 10 cards and other slower classes for sale online. Does the speed of the card make that much of a difference for the uses that we need? I'm assuming that any class of card would be sufficient for music, but then again maybe I'm wrong. Someone please educate me!!!
I realize that with a digital camera, you want a faster card to quickly store the image you just took, so you can get on to snapping the next picture, but with our phones do we need the faster storage that class 10 provides? How much does it matter?
Also, I understand there are apps that swap the built in memory location for the Micro SD location (sorry, I'm an Android newbie and I'm just learning), so that I could have 64gb of "built-in" storage for apps (minus the OS), and 23gb for "external storage", then would the speed class of the card then come into play much? How fast is the built in memory compared to a class 10 SD card?
the thing i can say is class 10 helps a lot for "scanning media" process which comes :
every time you boot the phone
every time you move some media or add some new
before i had a cheap one and it was long....
Built in memory will typically be faster than even a Class 10 card. The other day I picked up a 64GB MicroSD card from Best Buy (half price at $50) and put a ton of ripped movies into it so I can show of that 5.5" screen. It scanned the 50GB of files in a few seconds and I haven't noticed any stuttering, even as I scroll through the videos.
All of the 64GB MicroSD cards I have seen have been Class 10 anyway, so don't worry if you pick up a 64GB. This is the one I purchased (same price as Best Buy):

MicroSD is anything under 4gb, 4-32= SDHC above 32gb = SDXC. The OGP can accept any of them (up to 64gb).
I recently pre-ordered the Sony Xperia Z2 which only comes in 16gb so I am forced to get extra storage, but I have a few question regarding micro SD cards. While reading my post please keep in mind I am still a noob. :angel:
1) Is 32gb enough or is it recommended to get 64gb? I will probably watch movies and TV shows but will not be putting music on the phone since I am not a fan for personal reasons. I have also heard that bigger SD cards can slow your phone down and some people tend to have problems with them, is this true?
2) What brand shall I get? SanDisk or Samsung? I have read that even though two micro SD cards are the same size and same class there is still a difference due to the brands.
3) Apart from the storage size and the class of the card is there anything else I should be looking out for?

Hm....the xperia z2......it has up to 128 gb memory expansion according to gsm arena. If you want to save movies and tv shows to your phone, I suggest you buy a 64 gb memory stick, so you can save more stuff. As for the brand, there's no actual difference to me, and as for the bigger size that makes the phone slower, that's not true, unless you have your memory stick full of stuff like music, videos/movies/tv shows, images and such stuff (note that I have mine with such stuff loaded and I have no problems). Apart from the storage size and the card class, no, I think you're going to be alright. Hope I helped...
if you are a Movie TV fans,i suggest you add a 64gb extra storage,then u could smoothly enjoy the show and u can save more tv show you like
I agree, i fill up a 32 gb like its nothing. and thats just pictures and videos. if you use instagram it fills up allot faster.
Alright, I'll go for the 64gb one and Samsung seems like the reasonable choice to make.
suggest you to get a 64GB extra storage.

We can't really answer that. If you don't re-encode movies you'll likely quickly fill up 32GB. On the other hand, bigger cards get cheaper, faster and more reliable (ok, not always) over time. I'd decide by price, you can always easily replace it later.

I'm a newbie when it comes to Android and XTD Developers website - so please forgive me if I am posting this in an inappropriate place.
The charging port on my wife's T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II (T989UVMC6) died and T-Mobile sent us a new one. In the meantime I purchased a 32GB Ultra Sandisk Class 10 microSDHC card to transfer all her pictures, videos, and contacts to. The idea was to put all these on the microSDHC card and move the card to the new phone - then transfer them back to the default Android locations on the new phone until we learn how to setup the camera to store pictures / video to a folder on the microSD card by default. I think she would prefer to leave the contacts in the default internal memory location as I hear the microSD cards can die without warning.
If someone could / would assist me with this operation I would greatly appreciate it!
