[Q] How to remove wi-fi notification? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I have a persistent wifi notification in the notification drawer. How to remove it.
I have disabled notifications from the advanced options in the wifi settings.
But it is of no use.

I have it too.

You can't remove it until we have a method to root and use Xposed. Samsung phones (at least on AT&T) have had the persistent wifi notifications for a long time.

How are you guys fixing external sd card without root. This is the kit Kat issue.

[Q] Wifi Connected notification

With the Tab Pro 12.2, I am new to Samsung. I've discovered this [Connected to wifi network xxxxx] seems to be inherent in Samsung, but it's a killer for keeping this tablet because of environments with intermittent connections. Of course the most obvious "solution" was to turn off the notification in Wifi>Advanced setting, but that seems to be for availability, not connection. Turning off wifi where it is intermittent might seem like a no-brainer, but that's not practical as a wifi connection is desired. I read about wiping cache partition so I did that, but the notification still appears. Blocking Mode is on, but that doesn't seem to relate. Of course I read about a mod for an older galaxy tab, as well as an app, both of which require the currently non-existent root for this device.
How do I get rid of this incredibly annoying pop-up?

No Wi-Fi icon showing on the notifications bar

Hi guys, I am connected to Wi-Fi with a strong connection however the usual wi-fi icon is not showing up.
I have rooted my phone, installed busybox, xposed and xprivacy.
Could any of these apps be conflicting with it?
The icon for the mobile data works so there is no problem with the notifications bar.
I have also been deleting bloatware off my phone. Just stuff like Samsung apps, wallet and optus zoo.
Could this have gotten rid of the WiFi icon in the notifications bar? Would really like to get it back.
Thank you.

Using mobile data toggles

I know that Marshmallow has a data toggle in quick settings.
But I also used Widgetsoid to create toggles, one of which was a data toggle. And I used Tasker to create a task that would turn on my mobile date with a certain text message.
But any data toggle is no longer working, is there a way to do this with Marshmallow?
If you're rooted you can try Toggle Data (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-toggle-data-5-0-widget-to-toggle-t2937936). It does require root, though.

Note 5 Wi-fi Rapidly Switching On And Off

Firmware: 6.0.1
Model: SM-N920A
UPDATE: Problem solved. Turns out it's an issue with the WIFI scanning in LOCATION, not in the wifi settings. While I still think this is an issue with the firmware, at least there's a way to get it to stop freaking out until they get it fixed.
Whenever I turn on the Wifi, it will often begin a cycle of rapidly turning off and back on again. If you watch the switch that indicates 'on' and 'off', it's constantly fluctuating between the two. -Immediately- after the switch shows it's turned on, the text just below the switch says "turning off.." and it turns off, immediately afterward turning back on, and the process repeats constantly until the phone dies.
Something is either forcing it to turn off, or forcing it to turn on. I've tried adjusting the settings for my third-party texting app (Textra), and even after disabling the entire app and using the stock one, the issue persisted.
I've tried restarting, I've tried clearing the cache via the bootloader.
I've exhausted the entire suite of options in settings for anything Wifi related, no configuration of settings has resolved the issue, including turning off wifi scanning.
I've tried entering the combination of "#", "*", and 0's and 1's (can't remember it off the top of my head) to access the wifi settings to turn off the power saving, but my phone under the listed model and firmware showed no such option.
The problem persists in any location, so I know it's not anything to do with the network I'm trying to connect to.
The only way I've gotten it to stop is going to the wifi settings menu, and rapidly tapping the switch while it constantly goes back and forth. I've managed to get it to stay in the "on" position, but that's the closest thing to a fix I've been able to find.
I've combed through many threads in the AT&T Note 5 troubleshooting topic, and can hardly find anything that describes this particular issue, only with wifi "not staying connected" or other obscure descriptions that upon further inspection were -not- the issue I'm having here.
Were it up to me I would root the thing and put stock Nougat on there and be done with it. But alas, AT&T has removed that option.
I am willing to do a factory reset, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this issue and if there is any other way to solve it, so I can avoid it in the future.
Settings > wifi > more (top right corner) > advanced > always allow scanning - set to 'off'
Like I said, I've exhausted all possible options in the menus relating to wifi.
This is what I see when I go into the "Advanced" settings in Wifi.
Network Notification (on or off)
Hotspot 2.0 (on or off)
Keep wifi on during sleep (never)
Auto connect to AT&T wifi (on or off)
Install network certificates
MAC address
IP address
That's all there is. I just factory reset my phone, restored it, and the problem in the OP persists.
I rebooted it in safe mode, and the problem still persists. At this point, it looks like it's an issue with the individual handset, unless there's anything I've missed. This is beyond frustrating.
Sorry but can you explain to me how you stop this from happening?
Mine going crazy from time to time, drives me nuts, and i can't stop it.
Btw this doesn't exist on my AT&T Note 5 --> Settings > wifi > more (top right corner) > advanced > always allow scanning - set to 'off'
Kill AT&T Wifi Direct and AT&T Hot Spots.. Remove them as System Apps also.. You should get a message that it is replacing it with the stock version somewhere along this path then your wifi will work flawlessly again even with 5GHz, go figure I guess Google does a better job at WiFi.'
Edit: (sloppy instructions)
DEVICE|APPLICATION MANAGER
"MORE" top right corner
CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS
<disable AT&T smart WiFi and anything else that is AT&T or Samsung, including theme nonsense if you want)
Now remove it from Apps....
DEVICE|APPLICATION MANAGER
Force Stop AT&T Smart Wifi. Disable AT&T Smart WiFI.. (Select Storage in same screeen, restrict background data.. Remove permissions)
I realize some of my steps are redundant but AT&T will update stuff then turn those apps back on somehow.. But not if you gut it like I described above

Push notifications on mobile data (A5 2017)

Hi!
I have a problem with push notifications. I don't receive notification when i use mobile data connection (network working). When i use WiFi i got all notifications. Sometimes solution to receive notifications from apps when i use mobile data is turn on airplane mode and turn it off > then i got notifications. What's wrong? ROM bug for this phone? I flash new official Samsung ROM with full wipe and this not solved my problem.
Who is the carrier it sounds like a possible data issue, I can get push without problems
Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
Probably on old phone all works correctly. I get new sim card for this phone (size: nano) so i think that card is ok.
i found some about this problem in google but no solution for a5 2017. One solution is airplane mode on/off.
