I received a failed download for instagram and face book and then find the same Bingo bash and uber downloaded. I have never used Amazon apps but went to my apps to see if they were there and they are not. They are not even showing in my google play app list.

so wtf could it be! this is so weird... it has to be the galaxy apps, no?

These apps just magically appeared out of nowhere. I uninstalled every last one.... Wtf

Anyone on Verizon having app update issues since the firmware update?

I had a few apps to update and got a 981 error. I ended up clearing my gmail account and putting it back on my phone - this got around the 981 error.
I had 6 apps to update - for some reason 3 of them are stuck "downloading" for a few hours now. I've tried powering off and on my phone a couple of times but no success in getting the apps to download.
How did you update? Did you wait for it or force it with the framework?
I've had no issues. Clear your market data if you're having issues downloading apps.

I'm one who forced the VZW update of 4.0.4 by clearing the framework and I've had no issues with apps updating in the app store, including Google apps and others.

Malware on my phone? :(

So mysterious bookmarks keep appearing on my home screen every other day. I sort of ignored it at first but now there's one called SMS spy and something about location and now I'm creeped out. Anyone have any ideas? These don't show up in application cache or anything, just on my home screen.
Sent from my jelly bean Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I have never heard of that before. What happens when you click it? Does it direct you to a website?
I would also browse your root folder directories and see if you can find anything out of the ordinary.

Google SMS spy and you will understand.

Shift apps/malware for sure. Uncheck "install from unknown sources" and try to track down the rogue app. If you can't find anything, I'd factory reset. Don't wanna mess around with that stuff.

what have you been installing? any apps that aren't allowed to be discussed here can cause things like that.
Bro if your gonna download apps illegally, at least get a bunch of security applications, like 6 of em for 6 different opinions.
Speaking of malicious, Has anyone got a warning about Super user being malicious??? That is what both of security applications said. And I got it from the play store.
*facepalm*
Antivirus on anything is pointless if you're doing something completely legit.

Yes it does actually, so it must be a bookmark...I hope. But how would they all get there?? Ok I'll give it a shot, not sure what "ordinary" looks like but I'll see.

Some apps from the market will do that. If you are getting any of the air push ads then that's what it is. Some apps are in the market that will do that. Best to find which app it is and delete it. That is from my experience.

Yeah but obviously a game or app that seems too good to be true is where malware is found. Not in angry birds. Like I said totally legit.

A few apps from the play store will add bookmarks to your home screen. TBH I can't name any off the top of my head but has happened on my GF android before. Chances are an app you have downloaded has been developed by the same people who make this "SMS spy" app. I would go through installed Apps and note who the publisher is and see if any are the same as the SMS spy app.
Chances are its just pain in arse advertising.

As indyred99 said. Some apps allow air push ads. Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.byq.airblocker from the play store. (Must be rooted) reboot, then they will stop.
Also, only install apps from the play store.

Downloading videos on browser? I can't do it anymore.

I'm aware jellybean got rid of flash so I downloaded the apk and can watch videos and such on the device. But I used to be able to download them right from my stock browser... Now it starts it and says unsuccessful no matter what video it is... I was able to do it on both galaxy s3 and note 2 at 1 point and I have unknown sources checked off...
Any ideas?

I have same problem. could download on Note 1 but not Note 2. Also tried firefox browser but had same problem.
Some sites will let me download a "3g" version of the video but not the "4g" version of the same video.

Need latest Samsung Hub apk

Hey, I'm looking for the latest version of the Samsung Hub app. According to Google Play, it's version 14021802.1.30.01 on 3/5/14. I'm running an international ROM and Google Play won't let me download it. Strange because the app was already in the ROM. Thanks.

Okay, the saga continues. I installed this version but it still says version 14011301.1.30.01 in the app... I've been working with Samsung on an issue where I cannot sign into the video portion of the hub. I simply get a error message that says "failed to sign in". I have a couple of movies that I bought from there, but I can't access them because it won't let me sign in. Books, music, and games work fine.
Their suggestion was to download the Samsung Hub from Google Play, which I can't do. I switched to a US based ROM, and it still won't let me download it... Not sure what to do here. I have a friend who has a completely stock T-Mobile Note 3, and they can't download it either. Same on my wife's S4...

Anyone else's Note push apps from Samsung through?

The other day I woke up to my phone having a Samsung notification saying Fitness With Gear successfully updated. I've never had that app to begin with so how can it get updated?! Anyways I ignored it since the Samsung app store didn't give me an option to uninstall it and just let it be. Well just now I noticed my lookout was being weird scanning new stuff I never heard of and found it installed 4 more apps called Gear Fit Manager, Gear Fit Installer, Samsung Billing and WeatherProvider. Any clues guys?

Never seen that Ray, do you have a Gear watch? Maybe with syncing them together it automatically installed them?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
No I don't have one. The description on those apps say they're for the the new watches that aren't out yet. Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.. I got the Fitness With Gear pushed to my phone by the Samsung App store than it began installing other Samsung stuff. But that GearFitInstaller keeps updating itself every half hour for no reason. I always catch my lookout going off scanning it saying it's safe.

Yes almost everyone who has opened the Samsung app store has got pushed the gear manager and most those apps. They don't even know it. It's not in app drawer. Go to settings -application manager- all apps and you will see the apps

I didn't open the Samsung app store but I did have it set up to auto update my apps when on Wi-Fi. Didn't think they will have the nerve to push stuff that's not installed as an update. Also you can find two of them on your app drawer. Fitness With Gear and Gear Fit Manager.

The same thing is happening to my Galaxy S4. I tried uninstalling the GearFitInstaller, but it just keeps reinstalling. Now I've turned off "Auto update apps" in the Samsung Apps store. Hopefully that will get rid of this nuisance.

That's exactly what you have to do as well as the following: Go into your phone settings-applications and find the apps you want gone. First you must uninstall the updates for the app then clear cache/data... then uninstall the app. Reapeat this for any app you don't want. And then make sure you go into Samsung Apps and set it to NOT automatically install updates. Done.
