I've got a custom PRL I'd like to install on my note 4. Is there an easy way to go about this?
I have been looking all day and not been able to find anything. Can anyone post back if they find a solution to this. there will be alot of happy campers out ther there. Thanks.

Hey everybody. First time posting. Ive searched and searched and searched the forums but cant seem to find the answer i need. I have a rooted Verizon Gnex running stock 4.1.1. When the factory image for 4.2.2 was finally released, i DL'd is and tried to run the .zip. Only to find that it was erroring out. I decided to wait VZW pushed the official OTA update and try that. Well, it finally came through last night and, i wish i could say to my surprise, the same issue happened. After scouring the interwebs, the only thing i could find to fix it was to unroot my device. Now if that is the case, then so be it. But if i can avoid wiping my device, i would love that option far more. I also am attaching a pic of the error message that im receiving when i try and update.any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
you modified your build.prop
the error message even says thats the problem.
you need the stock build.prop to be able to take the OTA.
The error tells you what is wrong, it detects something different about your build.prop file. You need to get it back to stock.

Thank you for such a quick response!!!!! Is there someplace that i can DL that and, if so, how would i go about installing it to the phone? Would it be a simple drag and drop?

the easiest way to fix your problem is to just flash the system image and nothing else in fastboot. there are several guides on how to do this.
if you want to find a download for the build.prop and change the permissions, you're welcome to try and find it.
So instead of going into recovery mode to apply the mms gingerbread fix for cricket, I copy and pasted it right over the system apk. couldn't find where telephony was to copy and paste, so then got the idea of using recovery and applied the mms gingerbread.zip in recovery mode. now im getting an error and force close every time i try and open up messaging. Any help would be massively appreciated. Further help to get mms working after reading all the thread and trying multipul different mods to get it to work would be even more appreciated. Maybe posting up the original mms.apk file the phone comes with would solve the problem?
never mind just flashed a cutome rom and it works fine

After flashing and rooting my phone i tried 3 different custom roms. 1st cyanbread i think its called, i didn't like it at first cause it was a little confusing but all features of the phone worked. Then i tried slimbean, messaging did not work, then tried evio, messaging, contacts, and phone all cause system errors and wouldn't work.
Does anyone know if my phone is messed up or if its just bugs in the roms?

Unfortunately, those are not just bugs. I do not have Cricket, so I'm not sure how to fix this, but you can try the following:
1. Go into recovery. (Hopefully you have Amon-RA, if not you can still try this.)
2. Wipe everything.
3. Put a nice rom on your sd card, and go into recovery and flash.
4. Do whatever you need to do so Cricket will work, but make sure you follow the instructions exactly as in the OP or video.
Post back and let me know what happens. Otherwise, private message @jlmancuso or @Wambo_Bomb -- I believe they have Cricket.

Thank you so much for the quick responce. I am running cyanogenmod Tom and though there's alot I like, there's alot I don't. Forexsaplei think its absurd they've intergrated 2 launchers, (adw and legacey) (adw, seems to be a resource hog )into it where they can't be easily removed and the launcher of my choosing put on. Or the fact that I can't easily go into diagnisticmode for qpst. Honestly I'd rather keep the HTC sense Tom as that's what was made specifically for the phone, however as said mms fixes or any other rom will cause forceclose errors. I already tried what you described above, so I guess I'm stuck with cyanogen until I can figure a fix.

Hmm. Well, sorry I couldn't help you. Please try private messaging @Wambo_Bomb or @jlmancuso . They have Cricket and will be able to help you better either way. I'm a little off today, so I'm probably overlooking something. I'm on minimal sleep because my parents house has been flooding lately from heavy rain, and I've been trying to help them with that.
Hello new to the forums. I have been rattled once again by the s3. Finally a problem I haven't really found too many solutions to and plus don't want to increase my chance of completely destroying my phone. Now. I have a Virgin Mobile phone in the US. Was on 4.1.2 but to flash to cricket I was trying to downgrade down to 4.0.4 from JB to ICS. Pretty much during this process not doing my homework I used odin and put the phone in download mode and figured oh Sprints rom should work since SPH-L710 is the same model and completely being wrong. I have been searching around google because I am soft bricked. Here is my assumption of soft brick. When Odin finishes the screen goes red stating the recovery files cannot be found and it wont read my sd card. Still able to go to download mode but not reboot mode. Hence, Soft Brick. Been trying to get out and recently took off a sticker seeing C-Spire. Now I remember seeing this while I was reading my XDA forums so I figured why not. Found some youtube videos googled and fond J7 for C-Spire. So close, but the link didn't exist or something. So... My conclusion finally made an account and finally asking for help the correct way. Please provide links and comments to help me out here would love this s3 back on track. Hope I followed the rules. I did honestly search the forums one had c-spire, but link was dead. My luck man. Wanted to also add. Maybe with this I wanted to for a while, but never had the clear instructions on this nor want to repeat the process of screwing up my phone AGAIN after fixing it. Any good ROMs for the s3 C-Spire SPH-L710? For Example, Would love to use that multi-window with anything and I tried pacman not loving the whole ics not using the home button preferably JB I think which is stock whatever is stock. I loved the XMT launcher and the whole PIE thing. Just let me know guys. Ahead Apologies for the noob questions if they are.

Still trying it out at the moment just downloading it, but if it does fix this and so on whats some good roms for the C-Spire or im presuming this does not ever fall in the catergory of sprint but cspire yes?

I don't have the c-spire, but once you flash the stock rom from the earlier post, you should be able to root and set yourself up with XMT and pie controls on the stock rom. They are stand alones and you can add them yourself, without looking for a custom rom for it.

Did not work first two times said it failed using odin 3.07 and that site you led me to. it says product mode SPH-L710. and has secure check fail sb11. Please help this is getting very frustrating.
I was trying to reset my phone and now it just gets stuck on the at&t load screen. I've been looking everywhere for stock rom for the Note 2 but I cant seem to find a good one for me to use in odin to fix my phone. Does anyone know where or have a working stock rom?

i just found my phone while moving.. charged it and forgot how cool all the mods were.. was gonna give it to my daughter with the pink theme. but then i started to check on everything and noticed a bunch of apps dont workl. tried updating some of the ones i could. but phone really started running slow. i know it was the last version of jellybean. so i want to update phone and get her a different rom.. but it has been awhile and i cant find original tar file. ive been looking through posts in development and found a kitkat one,but it says to update bootloader first. so im guessing that it is just the firmware. i need the whole stock file.. it should include the bootloader in there right? also i tried to update through flashfire but says my supersu isnt new enough.. cmon 7 years old isnt that old.. sorry.. but i really havent done this in awhile. if i uninstall supersu. then redownload it from playstore will it be updated? i think its built into the rom though. does that mean i gotta extract from system apk? ugh... this is kinda fun messing with this thing all over again. she might not get it.. jk. just want her to be able to use without any issues. would be nice if it stayed roooted. then i could change themes and stuff for her.. but if not stock it is.. she just turned 10.. so this will be her first phone...help would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time in reading this long post.. sorry. Could def use some help trying to get this running right.
