[Q] Difference between T805 and T805N - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I´m about thinking to buy the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE. But in some articles it´s written about T805 - in others about T805N.
If there is a difference - where it is? I seem not to be able to find it.
Can somebody here explain?
I am from Germany.

I believe the T805N is the US version and the difference is that it has that Pre installed app watch on whilst the others don't have and that's what I have noticed.

It's not that simple. Mine is the T805M and it has both LTE and Exynos. This is region-dependent. I'm in Brazil. I was unable to find specific region info when I bought it so I bit the bullet.
Hopefully you can find more data and share with us.

Hi, Rodrigo.
I'm from Brazil too, and bought T805M. Do you have any info about T805 firmware working on T805M?
Thanks in advance.

As far as my understanding goes, all S models are Exynos for now.
Pro line is Snapdragon.
I think only certain US Carriers use the Snapdragon chip Tab S LTE.
this chipset exynos 5420 is 3g in general no 4g lte .this is new 5420 with lte included or lte has dedicated chipset ?
becuase my note 3 n900 exynos 5420 support only 3g freq. but 5420 in this tablet support 4g let
if use another chipset just for lte power consumption is too much more than 3g
as i know, the tab S model use intel chip to support 4g
I have not (yet) read on any Samsung site of any Tab S using Snapdragon. To avoid any future confusion, I suggest to forget the other sites, and go straight to the source themselves (Samsung) .....

Maybe they are oblivious to it and need to be informed. You could contact them and ask.
Gsmarena is one of these sites
The mods know about the Snapdragon issue. Because Snapdragon is offered in some limited markets they say it should remain. I don't agree as the vast majority of these devices are Exynos. It is misleading but they won't change it.

I could only suggest that they need to " amend " the description, not " omit ". Just add Exynos to it, that's all. Or go the " hard " way and have separate forums same as other devices .... End of confusion
I thought AT&T were getting the snapdragon LTE models. May be wrong though.

I wish there was a US model that had a snapdragon, I've been looking all over for one to no avail.

Samsung.com doesn't list any Qualcomm specs for the T700/T705/T800, says they're all Exynos™ 5 Octa (1.9Ghz Quadcore + 1.3 Ghz Quadcore).
The only possible Tab S with a Snapdragon is the T805.
Does anybody on this forum have a Snapdragon Tab S?

I just ordered the Sprint variant of the Tab S 10.5 (SPHT807TAB) yesterday, and it uses the Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974). Unsure if the other carriers have/will release it.

So the T807 is the Snapdragon model.
How's the performance?

It shipped out today, so I most likely won't know until Monday or Tuesday. But I'd imagine the performance will be just like my Note 3 since it's the same SoC and memory.

Yes, please keep us informed.
I picked up the WIFI version a few days ago after seeing it posted here that BB was discounting the 32GB. I am not noticing any significant lags other than within certain apps that I have also noticed it my Note 8. I would be torn over which to choose, the Snapdragon/Sprint or the 32GB version.
Incidentally, if you chose the the monthly option @ $27 (total $650) , did it also include the cellular plan for 2 years or was that additional? (Update:Never mind, found the answer on the Sprint website)
My Tab S from sprint will be here shortly. I will post back about its performance. I am trying to find out if there is a root method that works for this model.

So far, even with the crap-bloatware Samsung/Sprint like to pile on, and the memory-monster-TouchWiz; this tablet is performing quite well. The Snapdragon definitely makes up for all of the aforementioned annoyances. Certainly more responsive and 'snappy' than the Exynos variant that I've messed around with. I can't wait to see how fast this is going to be running once we have root and custom kernels.
I do find it odd that they went back to the old USB 2.0 port vs the duel 3.0 port though; I get great charge times with my Note 3 using that.

[Q] Snapdragon 800

Good Evening to all
I've got a question, is it possible to get a Tab S 10.5 with the Snapdragon 800? I searched a lot but I can't find it. I live in Europe so the LTE Version is also power by the Exynos processor...but I want the Snapdragon with LTE. Where can I import it? Please help me
:fingers-crossed:
SD800 is exclusive to U.S. operators only as Exynos radio chip isn't supporting all U.S. network bands.

Even if you get the SD version, it will have LTE bands that don't work in your country - You're screwed.

[Q] Tab S 8.4 as a phone. Which version?

I'm in the US and most of the US tablets have the cellphone functions disabled. I'm on AT&T Currently with a Huawei Mediapad X1 (LTE doesn't work, but HSPA+ seems decent enough)
It seems that if I get an international version the phone stuff is enabled, but then LTE probably won't work in the US?
Just looking for some direction as I'm only planning on buying the Tab S 8.4 if I can use it as my phone as well, I have no need to carry 2 devices.
I'm also finding it hard to tell which versions have the Snapdragon CPU. From what I can tell the CPU performance between Exynos and Snapdragon seems about the same, but the GPU performance of the Snapdragon seems much better. I do play a fair amount of games.
Thanks!
I am not great on the version numbers but T705 is the standard exynos 4G version.
I would say go for one where you can get a firmware for the UK or somewhere else.
My T805 (10.5" exynos 4G) has all the phone functions.

Is your T805 a US model?
So if I pickup a US LTE version can I just root it and add back the dialer app to make it work as a phone? Or do they lock out the phone functions some other way in the US?
Mine is a UK T805, but if it is actually that model, so a T705. It will be Exynos 4G. You got a few websites you are looking on that I can look at the models for you?

If I get an international one from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LVUUM6A/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1QPS08K9FKKNF
That should work fine as a phone and the LTE ones should be snapdragon 800 equipped.
The issue is these international ones won't work with LTE bands in the US
So that's why i'm wondering if I get a US one (LTE bands will work in the US of course) can I somehow get the software on it to be able to use as a phone (As the US disables phone capability somehow)
My current phone is a Chinese LTE phone, the LTE does not work in the US, but I do get HSPA+ which is decent enough, It would just be nice to have US LTE and Phone working...
What network are you using, can check what Bands they are using?

I'm on AT&T, I already know the international LTE phones won't work on the AT&T LTE Bands. I'll just have to live with HSPA+
So you would be getting a T707A if you got the AT&T specific one. or a T705 for the international.
There are no T707A custom ROMs, only for rooting. I guess it will not have phone software Regardless of the version of software on samfirmware.
T705 will do 3G nicely, where I live I get HSPA+ and its quick - only get 4G in town.

Pretty much what I figured, I will just get the T705 international one and just live with HSPA+
From what I can tell all the T705 are snapdragon 800's, That Amazon link doesn't say what CPU it has. I'm pretty sure i'd rather have the snapdragon over the Exynos as the GPU appears to be way faster.
I think you will find the T705 is an exynos. Dont be fooled as with the intel modem they put exynos in their 4G versions.

Hmmm, Exynos CPU seems fast enough, its the GPU I keep hearing is severely lacking with such a high resolution.....
I haven't had issues myself - I have found it fast. Especially if you disable any crap that comes with it you don't need.

SM-T320 (Tab Pro 8.4) with Exynos

I have been looking but haven't found the answer, sorry if I missed it. I'm pretty sure that my SM-T320 version of Tab Pro has Exynos SOC instead of Snapdragon. I bought it from Hong Kong during a business trip. My question is, that are there versions with Exynos and Snapdragon under the same model name? Cyanogenmod and most of all other custom ROMS are for Snapdragon version? Thanks in advance.

Is Cross Flashing Possible?

Hello everyone!
I'm not too familiar with Samsung devices, I believe my last one was a Galaxy S4 ...
Anyhoo, I ordered a Note 10+ SM-N975W which is the Canadian variant with a Snapdragon 855 after reading it is superior to the Exynos version, however I'm European often travelling between the UK, Spain etc.
To get to my question
Is there any firmware I can flash on to my device for example N975W to N975F or even N975U1 which is US unlocked
I realise the chances of flashing N975F are slim as that device has the Exynos, but any help is greatly appreciated!
My carrier is EE not sure if that matters
You can only flash firmwares for snapdragon, NEVER firms for exynos

Thank you for your reply!, I suspected this was the case.
With that being said!
Is there a firmware you'd recommend between N975U1 or N9750?
Both are Snapdragon variants the difference being that one is US Unlocked the other is China/Brazil
The only differences I imagine there is, is the timing of OTA updates?
I own an exynos model, what I know for sure is that the differences in snap firms are mainly about the bands supported, you must dig into this

The N9750 is supposed to be for the Snapdragon Dual Sim model.
If you need to flash a different firmware, I'd recommend you to go for the U1.
My old S8+ was originally W and I flashed the U1 firmware for "faster OTA's" but I always ended flashing newer version on my own.

Hello, thank you so much for your input, I will go with U1!
Am i correct in thinking the only things I'll be missing out on (as I'm in Europe)
is
VoLTE, WiFi Calling & Samsung Pay?
Those 3 services are in some cases carrier dependant, some carriers only offer some services to devices distributed by them, specially volte and wifi calling, that is, they check the imei for that purpose

Wifi and VoLTE may or may not work. Samsung Pay is not carrier specific though. It should work fine.

For what it's worth, I too have the N975W.
I just received it yesterday, but I did flash the Star Wars firmware from the N975U1 (generic US) and it had zero issues. As I understand, the N975W and N975U1 have the same hardware, and is ok to crossflash.
So I'm fairly new to the cross flashing process but highly intrigued by it and what kind of doors that could open up.. My question is when it comes to cross flashing, what version of Odin would be ideal in order to make sure the process is successful??
